Wlmp file - How do I open it?

I need to open a wlmp extension file created with Windows live movie maker. It is a video file. I have tried VLC, Perian, Flip4mac, the latest version of QuickTime 7 pro, prism but nothing works. I have thought of saving the file under a different format in Windows Live movie maker on a PC and then opening it on the mac. Is ther another way of doing this?

That's your best bet.

    iPad do not support flash natively.
    Look in the app store, some browsers do support flash with limited functionality.

    These are the "out of the box" file formats that you can view on the iPad as mail attachments. If the file is not listed here, you cannot view it without a compatible third party app. What is the file extension?
    Viewable document types: .jpg, .tiff, .gif (images); .doc and .docx (Microsoft Word); .htm and .html (web pages); .key (Keynote); .numbers (Numbers); .pages (Pages); .pdf (Preview and Adobe Acrobat); .ppt and .pptx (Microsoft PowerPoint); .txt (text); .rtf (rich text format); .vcf (contact information); .xls and .xlsx (Microsoft Excel)

  • Unix Executable file - How do I open

    I have a Software DVD ( Route 66 Road Planner ) and want to install onto my New Macbook, problem is I can't. I know it is an "Unix Executable file" ( Apple - i keys give me that information ) I do know that on my old iMac G4 it opens no problem using VISE and I'm using 10.4.10, any reason why I can't open this on my Macbook ?
    Can I open it ? If so how ?
    Thanks to all.
    Steve

    It probably requires X11. X11 is not installed by default in OS X. It is on the install cds though as an optional install.

  • Interactive Buttons - Open File - How do I open a file in a "new" window?

    Running CS5 and I'm working on an interactive document.  I have created a Button and my Action is to "Open File" and I've selected the applicable file.  When I export to PDF and click on that button, it opens the file but not in a new window so I lose my original source PDF.
    I know that I can do these actions in Acrobat but I'd prefer to do all my actions in InDesign so I don't have to keep going back and forth.
    Thanks!!

    I believe it has to be done with a JavaScript in Acrobat. It cannot be done in InDesign. You might ask in the Acrobat forum for more information.

  • .exe files: How do I open them?

    Lately I had some downloads coming in with the extension .exe
    I cannot find any appliaction on my computer that is capable of opening them.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    PP

    They'll open in Stuffit only if the .exe is a self expanding Stuffit or Zip archive. To create either, you make your Stuffit or Zip file normally and then run it through another utility. That utility attaches a small tag of executable code to the archive. When you double click it, the program tag then extracts the data from the archive it's attached to. Stuffit can recognize these types of self extracting archives and open them without having to run it as a program.
    If it's any other normal type of .exe file. That is, a Windows application, then no, you can't do anything with it in OS X. You'll have to have Windows running in some way in order to use them.

  • My Excel 2011 will not open an .xlsb file, how do I open the file?

    I have a working document that I need to access, but my version of Excel will not open the file. It states that there's an issue with the file, and some of the spreadsheet isn't supported "-slicer". Do I need to upgrade my Excel version, is there a patch? I need some direction.
    thank you.

    xlsb files are binary Excel worksheets, and many have problems with them. Make sure your version of Office 2011 is up to date. If that doesn't help, try reinstalling Office.

  • RAW files-How do I open it

    Who can help me to find a solution. 5 bought an Olympus E3 which takes Pics in ORF Format. For some reason Iphoto does not recognize the format, even though having an Olympus E500 before RAW was not a problem.
    Any suggestions???

    For some reason Iphoto does not recognize the format, even though having an Olympus E500 before RAW was not a problem.
    Virtually every camera has a different RAW format, and so the fact that you've had another doesn't really play. The E3 is not on the list of supported cameras:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306835
    You'll need to use something else to convert the RAW files to a format that iPhoto can work with. You could try this:
    http://www.raw-photo-processor.com/RPP/Overview.html
    which does support the E3

  • In Safari how do I open a .PDF file in Preview instead of Adobe Reader?

    When a pdf file opens on my computer in Safari, it opens with Adobe Reader (v. 7.0.8). Until recently, I could right-click on my mouse and and a drop-down menu would appear with the option to open the pdf file in Preview instead of Adobe. That option has now disappeared from the drop-down menu. Can anyone explain how to get back the menu option to open the pdf file in Preview? Thanks. David
    G4 Cube 1.8ghz/tiPowerbook 800 dvi/iMac (Intel) 20"   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

    My computer automatically open PDF inside the Safari
    window, but I wish it would go back to opening it
    externally via Adobe. (maybe we should trade
    computers:-)
    Anyway, we have the same question.
    How do we control whether PDF launches internal to
    Safari, or external in Adobe?
    This is what I would like to as well. I often have a lot of pdf files I need to open and then save to my hard drive. When I click on a pdf file on a website Safari opens it and then I need to right click in the document to open it with Adobe. How can I get it to open in Adobe the first time without having to right click after it opens in Safari?
    Thanks!

  • How can I open a cc2014 file in my cs6 version of Indesign ?

    How can I open a cc2014 file in my cs6 version of Indesign ?
    I have several files that has been saved in a cc2014 version and I can't open them in my CS6 version of Indesign.
    I don t have access to anyone who have the cc 2014 version to convert the file.
    How can I do it from my cs6 version?
    THANKS!

    You can't do it from CS6.
    You have to export to IDML from InDesign CC2014 (or whatever the version it was created in) and then open the IDML in the earlier versoin of InDesign.
    All explained in the FAQ on the main forum page.

  • How do I open to a specific page or destination in a pdf file using Buddy API Xtra?

    Hello,
    I'm working with a CD ROM catalog that utilizes the Buddy API Xtra to open PDF files when a link is clicked. The client would like to be able to open to a specific page within a pdf file.
    I can open a pdf file using the Buddy API baOpenfile() function but I'm having trouble opening to a specific page when I add #page=4:
    baOpenfile("@\pdfs\Powder Cores\Magnetics_Powder_Core_Catalog_2011.pdf#page=4","normal")
    I've also tried working with the code below which seems to me like it should work... I didn't realize that the "open..." part of it was a function in Director.
    on mouseUp me
      pageNum = 4
      theApp = baShortFileName(baFindApp("pdf"))
      theDoc = baShortFileName("@\pdfs\Powder Cores\Magnetics_Powder_Core_Catalog_2011.pdf")
      theArgs = "/s /A page=" & string(pageNum)   & "&pagemode=bookmarks"
      -- (translates to "/A page=4" in this example)
      open theApp && theArgs && theDoc
    end
    Thoughts?
    Thank you in advance!

    Thank you Dee! This works perfect!
    It would be cool to know how to use bashell() for this.
    The help files give the following examples:
    Result = baShell( Operation, Filename, Args, WorkDir, State )
    ok = baShell( "open", "c:\windows\notepad.exe", "myfile.txt" , "", "normal" )
    ok = baShell( "edit", "myfile.htm" , "", "", "normal" )
    So I tried:
    on mouseUp me
      -- Close the program group
      tWindowList = baWindowList( "" , "pdf" , false )
      if tWindowList <> [] and count(tWindowList) > 0 then  baCloseWindow(tWindowList[1])
      pageNum = 4
      theApp = baFindApp("pdf")
      theDoc = _movie.path & "pdfs\Powder Cores\Magentics Powder Core Catalog.pdf"
      theArgs = "/A "&QUOTE&"page="&string(pageNum)&"=OpenActions"&QUOTE
      baShell( "open", theApp, theDoc , theArgs, "normal" )
    end
    It opens the pdf file without going to a specific page. Any thoughts as to why it wouldn't accept theArgs?
    Thanks again!

    We have no idea what you're referring to. If you know how to use Terminal and the file has been compiled then it may run.
