Wls7.0 soap client jar under wl6 problems
Hi.
I downloaded the soap client jar file from a wl7 service. I am trying to package the client jar file and webserviceclient jar file for my ejb under wl6. But when I deploy my application, it says noMethod found exception. It seems that there are some class conflicts of the weblogic client service jar file and wl6 libraries. I badly need help on this.
True, normal WLS 7.0 web service client will not work
in WLS 6.1 due to class conflict. So you need to use
portable client.
Here is an 8.1 example (It may work on 7.0):
http://manojc.com/?sample29
Here is the doc for portable stubs in 7.0:
http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs70/webserv/client.html#1061489
Also, please use the latest 7.0 SP.

Dynamically load different versions of client jar
Hello,
My application needs to simultaneously support different versions of an RMI app. How to dynamically load the proper version of the client jar to connect with the same version of the server. Say Server versions are sv1.0, sv 1.1, sv 2.0 and clients are cl1.0, cl1.1, cl2.0. How to dyncamically load cl1.0 in my application so as to connect with sv1.0, similarly cl1.1 with sv1.1
Will having a different classloader for each of the client jars, solve the problem?
Can someone direct me/suggest on how to handle this.
I appreciate your help and thanks for your time.Try this link if you want to see how browser based help will look on MACs and Apple hardware.

Your developers would need to create a sniffer to ascertain the OS of the user's device and then route to the required help. That is not built into RoboHelp and RoboHelp Server will not assist with this one.

I've read the not-so-good dox about running a J2EE client in WL6:
- make a jar packaged with the standard META-INF/application-client.xml
- put an xml called <jarname>.runtime.xml in the dir with the client jar
(for WL6 specific jndi mappings)
- run the jar with weblogic.j2eeclient.Main [jar] urlthis is cumbersome in development. my J2EE client is mostly made of junit
testcases that call entities and session beans. There are dozens of "Main"
classes in the jar, that I might want to run individually!
I would like to run the testcases directly using the compiled classes
directory - but then the jndi mappings between the standard, logical names
like "java:comp/env/ejb/mySessionHome" and the WL-specific names like
"ejb.myapp.mySessionHome" fail.
actually, if I run the client using in code the actual WL6 jndi names, no
deployment info is necessary, but I want to use in code only the logical
names.
so, my question is : how do I run an unpackaged client that picks up the
jndi mappings specified in the .runtime.xml ??
Edo
PS - I basically want to replicate on the client-side the way I work on the
server-side : I use WL6 dynamic deployment of an unpackaged ear : no
explicit calls to jar and ejbc - which helps my code-complie-test cycle a
lot !Hi Sandy,
If I understand you correctly, then you are asking how to make
a stand-alone java client, right? According to the J2EE spec, a
stand-alone java client also needs to be deployed to a container.
A long time ago (before OC4J, when there was only OrionServer)
I struggled for about a week before finally figuring out how to
do this.
However, I then discovered that, with OrionServer (and therefore
also with OC4J), your stand-alone java client does not have
to be deployed to a container and can be launched from the command
line with the "java" command.
If you do want to deploy your java client, then the only way
I know to launch it is by using the "applicationlauncher.jar"
file. This file was part of the first OC4J (version 1.0.2.2).
It disappeared in the next version (9.0.2) and now has reappeared
in the latest version (9.0.3) -- go figure! Like I said, by the
time I started using OC4J, I was only using non-deployed clients,
so I had no need for "applicationlauncher.jar", so the fact it
was missing from version 9.0.2 didn't affect me.
In any case, I recall information on how to use the "applicationlauncher.jar"
file on the following web sites:
http://www.orionserver.com
http://www.orionsupport.com
http://www.atlassian.com
http://www.elephantwalker.com
I also recall answering similar questions several times previously
on this forum, so a search of the forum archives may also help.
I hope I have correctly interpreted your question and given you
a helpful answer.
Good Luck,

Web service client JAR problem
I have a .NET Web Service and I made a client JAR with the WebLogic Workshop. When I try to have data from the Web Service the WebLogic console shows me this error
web service invoke failed: javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: failed to serialize interface javax.xml.soap.SOAPElementweblogic.xml.schema.binding.SerializationException: mapping lookup failure. class=interface javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement class context=TypedClassContext{schemaType=['http://tempuri.org/JobPosting/FacadeJobPosting']:getCountries}; nested exception is:
javax.xml.soap.SOAPException: failed to serialize interface javax.xml.soap.SOAPElementweblogic.xml.schema.binding.SerializationException: mapping lookup failure. class=interface javax.xml.soap.SOAPElement class context=TypedClassContext{schemaType=['http://tempuri.org/JobPosting/FacadeJobPosting']:getCountries}
If want to know in which layer is the problem or what is the problem.
ThanksI'm only just scrapping on the surface of SOAP myself, but I have a little Java knowledge.
I think your error message is saying, that your trying to send a java object over SOAP to the other computer, but this object has not implemented the serialize interface (where objects are written and extracted to a stream)
Just a thought I could be wrong - but have a look at what object is being sent over SOAP - is it a custom object? does it need to implement serialize?
Good luck

Problems with client.jar - generated from webservices toolkit from JDK 1.1.7
We have deployed a web application using the webservices in WL 6.1 using JDK 1.3.1.
The clients were able to successfully access the servlet it generated and download
the client.jar. Unfortunately this client.jar seems to be dependent on JDK 1.2
and beyond. It seems to use java.util.Map class in the JNDI-SOAP SPI.
Is there any workaround or fix to this problem, so this jar can be used from a
JDK 1.1.7 env?.
Our objective is to use WL 6.1 EJB's from WL 4.5.1 using Webservices. Are there
any known problems with this approach (Ofcourse other than this).
Thank you.

(261705413) Q RPCC-7 Does the client.jar file tie you Weblogic Server?
Q<RPCC-7> BEA is providing client-side helpers in the client.jar file, including
parsing and SOAP facilities, etc. But, are we saying that there is nothing
in there that ties the client to the server-side WLS implemenation? It seems
that putting the interface of the underlying implementation EJB SLS bean is a
coupling...??? It also seems that by coupling the client to WebLogic classes
(weblogic.soap.WebServiceProxy|SoapMethod) we are coupling it to WLS.
A<RPCC-7>: I understand your concerns, but you are not tied to WLS that tightly.
Certainly, the static client code utilizes the EJB interface that underlies the
web service but it is possible to invoke the web service dynamically. The use
of weblogic library classes to invoke the web service just indicates the use of
weblogic's client API. This client API can also be used to invoked webservices
hosted on other application server or frameworks. Additionally, other client APIs
can be used to invoke this web service, for instance the VB client example that
ended Thursday's presentation. Lastly, the remote interface in the client.jar
file could actually just be a java presentation generated from a WSDL file that
represents a C# web service (this is actually only possible in WLS7.0 and not
6.1 but the point is you do not actually know the inderlying framework or implementation
andnor should you care).

Deployment of SOAP client...
Hi,
My setup is iAS 10.1.2.0, database is 10.1.0.2, JDeveloper is 10.1.2.0.
I am trying to deploy a SOAP client stub to the database, when I get the errors below. Obviously I will have to load some JARs to correct this.
Having read the "http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/java/jsp/loadjars.html" page, I am not sure what jar files I will have to load to the 10g database (will I really need the OC4J downloaded files or can I do with the ones supplied in the database directories?), and if there are any obstacles I need to be aware of beforehand?
Cheers,
Jørgen

I see two problems from this:
-the SSL classes are not being loaded (I seem to remember having read that these are not supposed to go into the SYS schema, correct?)
-Among others, I receive an error "ORA-29534: referenced object SYS.oracle/soap/transport/http/OracleSOAPHTTPConnection could not be resolved". This last error is preventing me from deploying the webservice client stub.
Any hints/tips are very welcome! -How have you deployed these JARs into 10.1.0.2? -
WHICH SOAP CLIENT STACK FOR JDEV 10.1.3 WEBPROXY ?
Hello everybody,
I just succeeded in calling webservice stubs, created in Jdeveloper 10.1.2., from a oracle10G (R2) DB. This works perfectly...
Now i'm trying to deploy the same webservice from Jdeveloper 10.1.3 into the same database. I generated a proxy (whereas in Jdeveloper 10.1.2 you create a stub) and deployed a static method from the client class, in the proxy, into the DB (similar to the approach in Jdeveloper 10.1.2). However this doesn't work. I get a big list of error messages containing all reference errors. My guess is that the soap client stack, loaded into Oracle, is different for both versions of Jdeveloper. In that case i'm still working with the stack for jdev 10.1.2 where I should be working with the stack form jdev10.1.3.
Can anyone please tell me what .JAR's I have to load in the DB to get the proper stack needed for calling 10.1.3 proxys (or stub as you will)?
Many thx in advance!!!!
Grtz,
KimI found out that Jdeveloper 10.1.3 works with JAX-RPC webservices. So instead of installing the SOAP client stack one should install the JAX-RPC stack in the database. this stack is found on the oracle site ( search for call-out utilities).
Hope this helps people with the same problem!

Can we stop the server from generating a client jar
When an EAR module is deployed, the server generates a large (a few MB) client jar inside the deployment directory. AFAIK this jar is never used for anything unless you have ACC clients. Please correct me if I'm wrong!
Recently, we've had some worrying exceptions logged, indicating that there is a problem reading this client jar, and the context indicates that the server is attempting to set up a class loader for it. Everything works fine anyway.
We have a few hundred EAR's deployed in each of our servers, and the EAR's contain on avarage about 30-40 entity beans, so you can imagine that we worry about every unnecessary resource allocation.
Also, every exception logged requires attention from the admins so we would really like to get rid of these jars if we can, and if they are in fact unnecessary.
TIA,
Gunnar GrimHello, Gunnar.
You are correct that the generated jar is for launching clients using ACC. (Historically some users have taken the generated app client jar and added it to the classpath for non-ACC clients, but this is not an officially supported use of it.)
You said that recently exceptions have been reported, which I assume means that this was not always true. It would seem that something in the environment or the applications has changed to trigger the exceptions. Identifying whatever that change has been might help identify the root cause of the new problem. Have you changed anything in the environment or the applications around the time the exceptions began appearing?
Can you post an example of one of the exceptions you are concerned about?
Also, what version of the product are you using?

Shell script to start, stop and restart a JAR under linux
Hi everyone,
Does anyone have idea to write a shell script to start, stop and restart a JAR under linux? it can also indicate a method or parameter? Thanks!
this JAR inculdes a class with main method like this:
public class Client(){
public Client(String name){
public void stopClient(){
public static void main(String[] args){
new Client("/tmp/text.log");
}Does anyone have idea to write a shell script to
start, stop and restart a JAR under linux? That part isn't really clear.
Start would be java -jar myjar.jar.
Stop could either be kill, which kills the whole process; kill -TSTP, which suspends the process, or some application-specific communication such as sending something over a port; or putting something into a file or something.
Restart could just be the same as start (if stop is just kill); kill -CONT, if stop was kill -TSTP; or some other app-specific communication. -
Missing ejb stubs in client.jar
Hi,
When I deploy me ear file then sunOne will generate a clientEjb.jar for me automatically with the stubs inside.
Now I recently had to change the remote ejb's with local ejb's, but when I now deploy the ear the client jar does not include the stubs, yet then I get a javax.naming. NamingException: invoccation exception. If I include the stubs manually, it works.
Any idea why now suddenly these stubs are not included anymore
Version SunOne AS = Sun ONE Application Server 7.0.0_02
OS = Windows XP
J2EE=1.3
Thank you in advanceHi joyv,
Please post the exception stack trace you observed. That will help to debug the problem further. Thanks.

Two web apps using the same EJB client jar
I am currently deploying two web apps on a server. Both web apps use an EJB client
jar (the same jar) to access EJB's and both apps work when tested independently.
The problem arises when I log into app A and then log into app B. As soon as
I do app A loses it's references to the EJBHomes, and other classes.
It seems a classloader is unloading the first classes and instances loaded by
the first app and then loading them from app B's client.jar.
If I put the client.jar in the system classpath everything is fine, but that's
just a hack.
Is it not possible to deploy two web apps on a server using the same client.jar's
in their own WEB-INF/lib's?Joe,
As Pravin mentions, the checking of those boxes in Workbench triggers scheduled jobs within the EAC that kicks off the scripts at the appropriate time/day. But as you've noticed, there's not a ton of flexibility and you don't get cron or Windows Scheduler-type capabilities.
If you need to do something special, you can manually kick off the report generation scripts from your control directory using the runcommand.bat (or sh) script or place the command into a cron/Windows Scheduler job:
For example, to kick off the WeeklyReports job, you would do this:
runcommand.sh WeeklyReports runSo, assuming you go down the route of creating multiple ReportGenerators and scripts, you would create a job to kick off the new script you've created at the appropriate time.
Hope that helps,
Patrick
