Wlse 2.9 alarm e-mail timestamps

Hi,
I'm evaluating a wlse 2.9 and have found that, when I'm emailed due to a threshold violation etc, the timestamp on the e-mail is in GMT. Is there a way to change this to a local time zone?

Ical alarms-junk mail

I set email alarms using Ical. They always show up as junk mail even though the sender(myself) is in my address book. Any ideas? Thanks.

That address is indeed in my address book under my entry as the home address. Another, which is my work email address also goes to junk when I use it for alarms. I do have filter set to exclude addresses in my address book. I'm not sure how to set my card to "My Card" - could you elaborate? The entry in address book has a person icon rather than a card and there is a small "me" in the corner of my address book thumbnail pic, so I'm guessing this setting is also correct.

Alarm Clock, Mail and TextFree With Voice

I woke up this morning on my own 19 minutes late because my alarm didn't go off! I RELY on that thing to get me up in the morning! When I checked it, it was going off in silent mode but the volume was all the way up and there were no headphones connected... I always make sure that the volume is up on everything, being that every app has it's own volume setting now >:(, every night before I go to bed...

I'm trying to delete my bulk mail and it's loading only so many at a time. One loading period will pull up maybe nine and the second loading period will load up five. And sometimes, when I highlight mail to delete them, they disappear before I even click delete...

I am getting told by a few people that I'm not answering their calls, but it's not my fault being that it's not notifying me that someone is calling nor does it show up in my recent calls (missed calls) until maybe 30 minutes AFTER they call... In fact, it's STILL not showing me a certain recent call and I know for a fact that this person called me because it's the only number I gave them...
Oh and in addition to these problems (would have went to a different forum for this but it took me 5 minutes to even get this far)... Well it could be a firmware issue with the router.. Try updating the router with a latest firmware from the cisco website.
And also try using the iPhone 4 with any other network like (Hotspot or Cafe) and see if the voice does work over there or not.
Also regarding the E1000 router , Try to change the wireless channel on the router you can try with channel 6 , 9 or 11 and then observe the iPhone connection. It could be an interference issue.

Keeping e-mail alarms in the bg?

Not sure if this is an iCal question, a Mail question, or a Leopard question -- all I know is it stumped the Genius at my local Apple Store, so I'll try here first:
Is there a way to have iCal-trigged alarm e-mails to be sent in the background, instead of Mail suddenly popping up as the active app regardless of what you're doing at the time?
Pre-Leopard, the many e-mail reminder alarms I would set in iCal would always get sent in the background. But I've noticed in Leopard that Mail will bring the window for the alarm e-mail to the front just for a second or two when sending one. Aside from being a minor visual annoyance, if I'm in the middle of typing something (in a Pages doc, for instance), the Mail window pops up on screen and a few letters of whatever I'm typing get entered in the "To:" field, which then causes Mail to generate an error message telling me that "rty" (or whatever) is not a valid e-mail address. Duh.
I've checked the Prefs for both Mail and iCal, but aside from turning off all alarms (NOT an acceptable workaround) there doesn't seem to be anything applicable. But like I said, this was never a problem pre-Leopard -- all those automatic alarm e-mails got sent in the background, and never interfered with whatever application happened to be active at the time.
Is there any way to get that same behavior back again in Leopard?

yes i realized this would be an issue.
It is possible, but difficult, to trawl through all events with a script to pick put the details - I have a script that does that. It involves parsing the recurrence data in each event with an alarm then stepping through its recurring dates to find the firing event.

Also, since the mechanism that iCal uses for sending an email alarm is, I think, Applescript, you are likely to run into the same issue.
I don't see why. the outgoing message status is set by the script not to be visible so it's sent in the background.

DSC alarm API Timestamp

Hi,
We are currently building an application for electrical systems using cRIO and DSC HMI features. Our intention is to generate alarm condition in cRIO and display the alarms on HMI-PC using the DSC alarm API. We are looking for a very precise timing on alarms down to less than 10 milliseconds. Our current setup is configured as follows:
cRIO has a Boolean shared variable to trigger an alarm condition via calculations in cRIO.
HMI PC also has a Boolean shared variable aliased (PSP-URL) with the cRIO variable. We do this in order to enable Alarms on the PC variable and use the alarming API functionality.
From our understanding, DSC alarms API display PC-system timestamp whenever an alarm condition is triggered from cRIO. Apparently, the shared variable engine (SVE) on cRIO communicates to the SVE in the PC and passes information about alarm condition and timestamp. However the SVE in the PC only passes on information about alarm trigger to the DSC alarm API; it doesn’t take the timestamp and generates it using system (i.e. HMI PC) time.
We were wondering if we could get the cRIO timestamp on the DSC alarms list "set time"? This is the best desirable situation.
Do we have to write the cRIO timestamp to the citadel database becasue DSC alarms API just reads alarms from citadel? Once alarms are acknowledge, it wrties back the information to the database. So, there is something editing the database which is not transparent.
Any feedback on this to enlighten our understanding will be greatly appreciated.

If I'm not mistaken that you want the timestamp data from the cRIO to be transfered to the PC, there is a setting at the cRIO shared variable (you'll need to set it at the Project Explorer where you create the time stamp) which you can have the shared variable to give out time stamp: http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/371361H-01/lvconcepts/sv_using_nodes/
Alternatively, you could set the shared variable to transfer data of cluster data type which consists of timestamp and the datatype that represents your alarm trigger information: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/DDEB4D9BC34705C086257242000FF7DB
If you are using RT programming, you can place a timestamp related functions like Elapsed Time Express VI or Get time in seconds (which you need to convert using ) and bundle it with the alarm information using Bundle.vi or Bundle by Name.vi and write to the shared variable
Or you could give a screenshot of the program an explain using the screenshot on what you are planning to do.
As for your alarm acknowledgement thing, if your PC is connected with your cRIO always, you can just create some sort of hand shaking tools and use one or two shared variables specially for acknowledgement purpose. Something like a 2 way handshaking operations in a TCP/IP protocol.

How to show time in Mail?

In Mail, timestamps only display for the current day. Is there a way to make these show for anything before today also?

There seems to be no options to adjust the timestamp options in the inbox preview, although when you view a message, the expanded time stamp info is availaible.

Do you know how to modify the timestamp in a msg file which was saved from Outlook Inbox. The mail subject and body are able to be modified by selecting
Actions - Edit Message. But it looks like the mail timestamp and the To/Cc are not able to be modified.

You can convert your MSG file(s) to EML format, edit Date: header in EML file with any plain text editor (like Notepad) and then convert it back to MSG.

ICal alarm won't go away

I'm having a strange problem with alarms in Mail. I created an alarm on a calendar over a year ago. The event hasn't happened for a year. My problem is that it shows up endlessly in Drafts in iCal. I deleted the whole calendar in iCal yesterday, but it still exists in Mail.
Any ideas on how to get rid of it?

Could you clarify your troubleshooting steps...what have you tried so far?
In the meantime since I do not know what you have tried:
The first and easiest troubleshooting step involves replacing/refreshing the com.apple.iCal.plist file.
Quit iCal and find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Drag the file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior.

Hi, I create a new event in calendar (maverick) and I set alarm with mail but at the time I chosen I din't receive mail but only sound on my iphone. I tried also with other account... How can I have email? may be a problem of mavericks?

step 1:
Copy the Mail folder (user/Library/Mail) to the new mac (user/Library/Mail) too? or inside folder V2?
Step 2:
Erase the files Envelope index, Envelope index-shm, Envelope index-wal (user/Library/Mail/V2/MailData) at the new mac.
Step 3:
Open Mail. But it asking me to setup the account?
Do I missed something here?

Turning of Alarms on Synced Calendars?

I have a synced Google calendar with iCal. The problem is that the synced Google Calendar with iCal (OSx 10.6) is sending alarms that are not on the Google Calendar. Is there a way to turn off "Alarms"?

I have the same problem, I think, and its bloody annoying.
Setup:
I have several Apple devices (MacBook, iPhone, iPad) which all sync to my Google Apps calendar and update each other in real-time using CalDAV. Quite handy actually, except for the following...
Problem:
I don't typically use Alarms. For some reason, about a month ago, all the events in my calendar suddenly had Alarms configured and I can't turn them off. If I:
(1) Create a new event and don't configure any Alarm, an Alarm gets auto-configured for it anyway. Almost like a setting somewhere is auto-populating a default Alarm.
(2) If I try to edit an existing alarm, and remove it, it just re-populates it after I save.
As noted, I have several synced devices. So for every dang iCal event, I get multiple alarms, e-mail alerts and etc. As I said, really annoying!
Troubleshooting:
I have searched and searched for a default setting in iCal and Google Aps, but can't find anything that would 'force' a default Alarm. I tried clicking on the iCal --> Preferences --> Advanced --> [ ] Turn off all alarms setting, but it didn't work.

Attach File for event, e-mail

I have tried and tried when I make an event in iCal I hit Alarm, e-mail and then at attachments I add the file. Shouldn't this automatically send the file? Am I doing something wrong.

No, I don't think so. You are attaching the file to the event, not to the alarm. I don't think there is any simple way of doing what you are trying to do.

Can´t find the way to make it work

Hi I asked this in this forum and others but nobody could give me an answer. I´m gonna try to explain it with more information and all the ways I had try to make it work.
First I´ll show you how my proyect is structured :
Those are all the scenes of the proyect (it is an interactive book).
My problem is with the scene5 (" _escena5") it looks like this :
Ok the current action affects to the symbol selected "_filtroEscena5" and it has this inside :
Allright,now I will explain the action:
I need to drag the symbol "_filtroEscena5" but only when I click on the "Ellipse". Ok, the easy way to do this is with a handle on the .draggable property well this works fine. The problem is the other part of the action. I have on the "_escena5" a few triggers "btnFantasma", "btnOsos" and "btnVini" those trigges have to been activate when the ellipse goes over. This is a scene of a lantern, you drag the light and when you illuminate the Triggers something happens.
So here is my problem, I can´t get the last part working. I first used the accept drop function. I made my triggers droppable and at the accept parameter I put this:
sym.getSymbol("_escena5").getSymbol('_filtroEscena5').$('Ellipse'),
But this does not work, if I make a rectangle o something like these to test it and put it on the accept it works, but not with the "Ellipse".
So I tried other thing...
At the draggable property of the "_filtroEscena5" I call the drag parameter and set this function :

This made it responds only to the Ellipse element and then destroy the draggable property to make sure than when I drag it again I move all the symbol and not just the "Ellipse". And this is the problem with it, if I stop dragging the lantern at a trigger it works but if I stop it at any other place when I drag the Ellipse again it moves alone, the symbol does not move with it.
So I call a function at the stop parameter at the .draggable property of "_filtroEscena5" and call again this:
    sym.getSymbol("_escena5").getSymbol('_filtroEscena5').$('Ellipse').draggable('destroy');
All right now I move all the symbol only when I touch and drag the "Ellipse" and don´t care where I stopped it, when I drag it again it works. The problem? this broke the drop function for the triggers it´s like when you stop the drag and then ejecute the drop so when you stop the drag you lose the id information.
I don´t know what more I can do I tried other things but nothing change because this is for tablets and can´t use the mouseover like on the browser.
Plese some help my I spent a lot of time with it.

Email notification sound not working

I own a iPad2 wifi. I have added my yahoo mail business account to my iPad. The current Sounds settings in my iPad is Ringer and Alerts ----> ON; Ringtone ----> Alarm; New Mail -----> ON and other settings such as Sent Mail, Calendar Alerts are in OFF mode. But I don't hear any sound alert when ever I receive an email. Do I need to need anything more to hear the sound. Appreciate your help.

Have you got notifications muted ? Only notifications (including games) get muted, so the iPod and Videos apps, and headphones, still get sound.
Depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (mute or rotation lock), then you can mute notifications by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar.
