Wlw-runtime-config.xml & two managed servers

I have a problem with WSDL generation and WebLogic workshop in a
cluster.
I'm using a wlw-runtime-config.xml file to ensure that my web service
generates the correct url for it's endpoint.
The problem I have is that I have two managed servers on one physical
box, one listening on port 7010, the other on port 7030.
The wlw-runtime-config.xml file is placed in the domain root, and I
only seem to be able to specify a single port/dns name in the config
file.
My web service request will come in through the IIS plugin, hit one of
the servers, generate the WSDL containing the port information, which
may or may not be correct for the WLS instance that it has actually
been proxied to.
If that is correct, how do I handle the fact that the web service is
deployed across all cluster members, two of which are hosted on one
single machine.
Am I missing something?
Pete

Hi Pete,
I'm assuming you have seen the "how do i" on this topic [3], plus the
information on how to setup a cluster [1].
Your missing link may be the way your DNS entry is configured for the
cluster. See the docs [2] on this topic, but you will need to specify
the multiple nodes something like this:
DNSName1:port1,DNSName1:port2,DNSName1:port3
Note the folks in our super support group will be best suited to assist
your efforts.
Regards,
Bruce

  • Wrong port on links gen. by jpf (wlw-runtime-config.xml)

    Hello,
I am working on WLS 8.1 SP2(SP3) and developing the app with workshop. I use i-planet as webserver and 2 managed server as cluster for wls.
By Accessing the application, all links created by java page flow, have the name of iplanet server, but they have a wrong port and use http instead of https!
              for example:
              accessing with https:\\wip:5683\mpweb
brings jpf to link to http:\\wip:7001\mpweb
Defining port, server and protocol in wlw-runtime-config.xml do not have any effect. The same by using wlw-config.xml.
Do someone have any idea ?
              Thx.

I have been reading your threads and have created the boot.properties file. I have placed in the following directory:
    - /tezaam/apps/bea/user_projects/domains/xxx_domain/security
The boot.properties file contains two lines:
    username=weblogic
    password=weblogic
Question: Is is in the correct directory path or should it reside elsewhere as I am not using a nodemanager and start each AdminServer on its own.
    Appreciate feedback.

  • Bridge already registered when using two managed servers

I have defined a messaging bridge with a target of my cluster in Weblogic 9.0 (upgraded from 7.0). My cluster has two managed servers. The bridge and resource adapter also have targets of the cluster. When I start the first managed server, everything works fine. The bridge works. When I bring up the second managed server, I repeatedly get the following:
              javax.jms.JMSException: SJMSBridge is already registered
Is there something new that I need to define in the config to make this work?

Here is the full error. I can understand what you are saying about the cluster, but I get this message even when only one server of the cluster is running. That doesn't make sense to me.

  • Linking JMS Queues between two managed servers

I have an environment setup with an AdminServer and multiple managed servers all under the same domain and on the same cluster. They are all running under the same Instance of weblogic on one Windows Server.
I have two different applications on two managed servers that need to have a JMS Queue be linked between them. Essentially have Server1's 'inbox' link to Server2's 'outbox' and Server2's 'inbox' link to Server2's 'outbox'. Each has their own name for their inbox or outbox.
              Server1(inbox)=Server2(outbox)
              Server2(inbox)=Server1(outbox)
I've tried using Foreign JNDI Providers, however it doesn't allow me to input two addresses (Server1 and Server2).
Is there another function that would do the same thing?
              Thanks!

You can make use of Message Bridges between any 3th party JMS provider or SAF (store & forward) if both jms servers are weblogic servers.

    Hi,
I did not have too much experience with WLS, I have two manged servers which listened on diff port, and I tried to configure them in one apache instance..
do u know how to do it? I have tried this:
    <Location /weblogic>
    SetHandler weblogic-handler
    PathTrim /weblogic
    </Location>
    <IfModule mod_weblogic.c>
    MatchExpression app1 WebLogicHost=192.1.1.87|WebLogicPort=7100|Debug=ON
    MatchExpression app2 WebLogicHost=192.1.1.87|WebLogicPort=7200|Debug=ON
    </IfModule>
    And got the following error:
[Mon Jun 23 15:43:41 2003] [error] CONFIG_ERROR [line 1309 of ap_proxy.cpp]: Neither 'WebLogicCluster' nor 'WebLogicHost' specified in parameters
My WLS: 7 sp2 and apache is 2.0.45.
    Appreciate your advice...

You can have more number of soa servers in a SOA domain. You can create mutiple managed servers using config wizard. But when you create more than one soa servers, then all the servers should exist in the same cluster.
You can not have the soa servers outside the soa cluster.

    MatchExpression xyz WebLogicHost=192.1.1.2|WebLogicPort=7200|Debug=ON
    </IfModule>

    Hi,
The SAP Business One workstations read the name of the license service to which they connect from the SLIC table in the SBO-Common database. All Company databases sharing an SBO-Common database use the same license file. In addition, several SBO-Common databases can direct to the same license service.

  • Managed Servers not starting with options configured in config.xml

    Hi,
I Installed an Weblogic 10.3 on a Red Hat system and i configured an domain and 2 managed servers.
I configured the servers with some java arguments like this:
    -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -Xloggc:/home/oracle/logs/managed-server{1,2}_gc.log -XX:NewSize=128m -XX:MaxNewSize=128m -Xms384m -Xmx384m -XX:PermSize=128m
I do see in the ${DOMAIN_HOME}/config/config.xml the managed servers with the settings that I have configured it via the Web Gui Admin Console.
Now I want to start the Managed Servers with the following command:
    +cd ${DOMAIN_HOME}/bin+
    +./startManagedWebLogic.sh managed-server1 http://admin:port+
When i check the console, I don't see the correct JVM settings! Also other options that I configured in the Web Gui Admin Console, don't appear in the logfile.
The JVM settings I see, are those from the AdminServer.
    How can I change/fix this?
    Please help.
    Kind regards,
    Werner

    Hi,
Please add the changes to the startup script startManagedWeblogic.sh.
    You can add the memory args settings as "-XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -Xloggc:/home/oracle/logs/managed-server{1,2}_gc.log -XX:NewSize=128m -XX:MaxNewSize=128m -Xms384m -Xmx384m -XX:PermSize=128m"
Please let me know if it dosent fix.

    Hi Shane --
Yes, they were installed from the same disk (I'm pretty sure I did a software update on both but will double-check tonight).
When I try to Import the project, it is grayed out in the 'Choose a File' window. If I double-click the project from the Finder, I get "General Error (41)" -- which is a different one than when I tried it yesterday (when I had no other sequences active).
Also something weird today -- although the edited footage is all linked fine & plays properly, in the timeline most of the footage shows the red "Media Offline" frame for its thumbnail.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks!!

  • Transaction span two WLS managed servers (non-clustering)

    (Weblogic 6.1 - non-clustering version)
I have two managed servers configured on a single machine on different
ports, and I am not using clustering weblogic. Assuming I have EJB A
deployed on managed server 1, and EJB B deployed on managed server 2.
I want to have EJB A to invoke EJB B. In EJB A, I guess I will
probably create the InitialContext with the URL of managed server 2,
then do the JNDI look up and call EJB B.
    My questions are:
    - Can weblogic handle transaction that spans two managed servers
    (non-clustering setting)?
    - Does weblogic use XA to handle transaction between managed servers?
    - Do I need to do any JTA code in order to achieve that (instead of
just letting the EJB container to handle the transaction for me)?
    Thanks in advance!

to different databases, TX DataSources should be based on connection pools
    used XA drivers.
    - Do I need to do any JTA code in order to achieve that (instead of

to authenticate to Web App "A" and be able to invoke Web App "B" (from"A") without
having to re-authenticate. Is this possible via configuration and, if so,how?

Does the following do what you want?
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/security/thin_client.html#1039551
Multiple Web Applications, Cookies, and Authentication
By default, WebLogic Server assigns the same cookie name (JSESSIONID) to all
Web applications. When you use any type of authentication, all Web
applications that use the same cookie name use a single sign-on for
authentication. Once a user is authenticated, that authentication is valid
for requests to any Web Application that uses the same cookie name. The user
is not prompted again for authentication.
If you want to require separate authentication for a Web application, you
can specify a unique cookie name or cookie path for the Web application.
Specify the cookie name using the CookieName parameter and the cookie path
with the CookiePath parameter, defined in the WebLogic-specific deployment
descriptor weblogic.xml <session-descriptor> element. For more information,
see session-descriptor in Assembling and Configuring Web Applications.
If you want to retain the cookie name and still require independent
authentication for each Web application, you can set the cookie path
parameter (CookiePath) differently for each Web application.
As of Service Pack 1, BEA Systems added a new capability to WebLogic Server
that allows a user to securely access HTTPS resources in a session that was
initiated using HTTP, without loss of session data. To enable this new
feature, add AuthCookieEnabled="true" to the WebServer element in
    config.xml:
    <WebServer Name="myserver" AuthCookieEnabled="true"/> Setting
AuthCookieEnabled to true causes the WebLogic Server instance to send a new
secure cookie to the browser when authenticating via an HTTPS connection.
Once the secure cookie is set, the session is allowed to access other
security-constrained HTTPS resources only if the cookie is sent from the
    browser.

  • Consolidate ports for multiple managed servers

Hello, say I've got two managed servers on a single machine - A and B. Each is running a different app in its own jvm on separate ports. Now what I'd like to do is be able to access both apps via the same port..just with different context paths like this:
http://myserver/a/ would go to the managed server A app
http://myserver/b/ would go to the manged server B app
I don't want to put apache or anything else in front of them to do this. I want to know if weblogic itself provides a way to do it either through config or admin server somehow. Thanks for any ideas.

Ports must be unique when running on the same machine
A front controller (which do not want to use) is the way to do it.

  • Log4j and managed servers

    This seems somewhat obvious, but...
I have a Solaris based WLS 8.1.6 cluster with two managed servers.
In the log4j.xml for BOTH managed servers, the logs for output from both go to the same file.
What happens is one managed server writes to dctm_api.log and one writes to the previous log file.
Is this as simple as Log4J in one of the Managed Servers has the file open and Log4J from two process can't have the same file open and write to it at the same time?
              Thanks,

  • OSB Managed Servers - How to add one to the OSB Cluster

    Hi,
I have an OSB Cluster of two managed servers. There is an Admin Server that controls the two.
On the Admin Server I see that there are about 137 odd Applications and a list of Libraries installed.
However on the Managed Servers I see there is not a single application.
Does Managed Server show only the Custom applications? I feel not. Applications like AQAdapter, MQ Adapter, ALSB Routing, etc. should they all not be present on the Managed Servers?
If I create a new Managed Server that I want to Add to the Cluster there is no option to deploy those applications to the newly created Managed server in one shot. The only time it can get those applications is if the Applications were deployed to the OSB Cluster and not to the managed servers.
Is there a way (apart from extending the domains again and having those applications deployed to the OSB cluster) to have all these applications running on the Managed servers as well?

Is there a way (apart from extending the domains again and having those applications deployed to the OSB cluster) to have all these applications running on the Managed servers as well? Yes, manually you have to target each and every application to the cluster but it may not be an effective process. The basic funda of cluster is to make applications independent of managed server, so that if you add/remove a managed server then it does not affect the existing configuration. I think you should follow the standard practice and always create a clustered domain where all applications are targetted to cluster and NOT to the managed server. You may like to refer -
