Hope its not too late, You may want to use Idoc message type WMINVE. Create a Z program to read the data in, populate and process the Idoc.
Of course you could as easily create a Z transaction that does the BDC using Li11.
An advantage of the Idoc approach is it allows correction / reprocessing if errors are encountered.

Add New Item in WM Cycle Count - LI11N

Can someone tell me the purpose of the new item button in transaction LI11N. I thought it would be for adding items NOT on the invenory document while entering count results, but that does not appear to be the case. When I select the new item button to add new items, I receive error "XXX storage bin does not belong to inventgory number." However if I add an item that already exists on the inventory docuemnt it allows the addition. That doesn't make sense to me because that's not an addition, its' really just a funciton of adding the counts for an existing item. Perhaps I'm missing something in my configuration or settings for WM or my materials and that's why this does not allow additions of items NOT on the document.

Just before I received your message I found some documentation that explained further the use of the "add item" button. You are correct, the add item button is only for entering counts for bins already listed on the inventory document, but it allows the addition of different materials for that bin - in the event that the bin is a "mixed" bin.

Enter Inventory Count on transaccion LI11N

When entering the count, transaction LI11N just display 1 item at a time, we want SAP to display a list of all items on the Inventory document like in Inventory Management.
We have to enter one by one using the "Positioning" option entering bin by bin or item by item.
Is there a way to enter all at once on a list displayed by SAP ????
Is there a SAP Note we need to apply to fix a program error ???

Hi,
LIBS can be used for List layout but not for Entering Inventory Count.
You would need to use LSMW tool or Custom Program (BDC/BAPI) if you have to enter large amount of records.

BDC/BAPI Steps:
1. Fetch Data (Download/Read Dataset/Select from Tables)
3. Massage data as per SAP format.
3. Validation Check
4. Pass valid data to BDC (Call Transaction/Session) or BAPI
5. In case of session method - session log is generated. In case of Call transaction you can use an internal table with structure BDCMSGCOLL to get messages. In case of BAPI the messages will be returned in return table (strcutre BAPIRET2/BAPIRETTAB).

Zero count in Li11n

Hi,
When entering zero count in Li11n,we are getting the error message "Finding empty quants not provided for'
message no. L4058.
Why the sytem is npt allowing zero qty.

WM: Enter Cycle Count Results (LI11N)- Time Stamp

When cycle count results are entered, only the date of the count is recorded in table LINV. We are interested in capturing the time of entry as well for productivity related reporting.
Is anybody aware of a solution that can accomplish this. For example populating a Z Table via user exit/BADI etc...

You can do cycle counting with Rf transaction LM59 for the serialised material.
1.My experience says when you have HUM activated then to track material HU & serialisation profile works together.
2.You can do cycle counting of serailised & non serialsed material through Rf gun but clearance of this material will be issue. You may have to create one more transaction to clear the difference of serialised materials like LI20

Warning message in LI11N transaction

Warning message "Material flagged for deletion" does not appear in the transaction LI11N - Enter inventory count - for materials flagged for deletion. Tried searching SAP notes but couldnt find. Checked in 4.7, ERP 5 and ERP 6 releases but in all systems no warning message is given.
Is there any solution. I couldnt find any user exits. Tried with field exits. But I believe only error messages could be given in field-exits.
Please let me know if any other solution is possible.

I have an inbound interface where i am confirming the Transfer order and carrying out these transactions.

Carry out Continuous Inventory
<b>Purpose</b>
With the continuous inventory method you take inventory on a selected number of storage bins in a storage type. The inventory can take place at any time during the fiscal year. Compared to the annual inventory count at the end of the fiscal year, the continuous inventory has some advantages.
The effort for the inventory is not concentrated on a certain day or days but is distributed over the entire year. This can result in a better levelling of the workload in the warehouse.
Inventory can be conducted during slow times, for example, during the summer vacation period.
With a reduction in the effort required at the end of the fiscal year, a company can respond better to problems that might arise during an end-of-year closing.
When an inventory is carried out on a continuous basis, up-to-date information about the correspondence between the warehouse stock and the book inventory is always available.

Cycle counting happening not beyond fiscal year

Hello
We tried to run Cycle counting using LX26 but got error as IM settings are not done,we ran MIBC
The issue here is we can't push the counting date beyond the fiscal year end. If I run the transaction LX26 in either QAS or Prod it will work just fine if I keep the date before 31.03.2012.
Result of this issue is that all parts classified as C or D, are not being suggested for counting. As most of our stock is rated C or D by the ABC analysis that means that a lot of parts will not be counted, while they should be counted.
So what I need is a way to be able to count all types of stock using an inventory process in SAP, if there is another transaction that does count C and D classified stock that would be very helpful.
Factory calendar validdity is from 1996 to 2020.
Transactions I use now:
        For creating inventory documents LX26
        Printing inventory documents ZLI04
        Inputting count results LI11N
        Processing count results LI14, LI20 and ZLI21

Why a setting in OMCO without intervals? complete the customizing according to SAP design, your cusotmizing is incomplete

ABC Cycle Counting Process Steps

We currently want to switch our Cycle Counting by Bin location to ABC Cycle Counting. We want the system automatically generate a list of materials to count daily based on there ABC indicator.
Our Current Process Steps are as follows:
Step 1: LX 26 - Select Items for cycle count
Step 2: LI04 Print the Count sheets
Step 3: LI11N Enter the results
Step 4: LX17 View variance
Step 5: LI14 Create recounts
Step 6: LI04 Print the recount sheets
Step 7: LI11N Enter the results
Step 8: LX17 View variance
Step 9: LI20 Accept Counts & Clear Differences WM
Step 10: ZLI21 Accept Counts & Clear Differences IM
But when we switch to ABC Cycle counting we can't do the LX26 because that is when you select the bins you want to count. We need the process steps if we use the system to generate the kick off. Any ideas?

1. It is a CO problem - I think your error message is KI235. However you may face this problem if settings are ok but you do not do things properly in IM/WM bookings. Please check these links:

Please describe step-by-step (with trx codes) what you did and in which step you get the error message.

WM bookings will "never" consume you components (or maybe because a bug...). If you want to consume the components you have to post GI with reference to your PrdOrd (CO11N, CO15, CO27, MIGO, MB1A).
If you did a booking with mvt 261 in MB1A by mistake, do the reverse booking by mvt 262. That's all.
If you cannot solve your issue please clarify your problem, step-by-step...

Physical Inventory-Cycle count

I am getting this when use the TC-LI20
Storage bin 1000000073 in storage type 999 does not exist.What should be done.

I executed LX26.
I entered the count thro LI11N saved.
When i try clear the difference i am getting the error
Storage bin 1000000074 in storage type 999 does not exist (check your entry)
1000000074-Inventory document number
When i try in LI21 ,I get msg no data exist.
What does this mean
How proceed and complete the PI.

LI11n Updation FM for WMS

Hi,
I need to update the LI11n t.code with the Count qty and the zero qunatity if the count qty was not there.
FM's BAPI_MATPHYSINV_COUNT nad BAPI_MATPHYSINV_CHANGECOUNT are only used when the inventory management was used.
But here i need ti update for WMS oriented concept.What is the FM i need to use to update the fields of quantty and Zero quantity.
Also i need to check where the zero quanoty checkbox value stored(Tablename).

Check in the BAPI tocde- Under MM-> Inventory Management to find the Fm or
Pls try to use this FM for Physical Inventory -
BAPI_MATPHYSINV_COUNT
Pls refer to this BOR object BUS2028 for more FM
These relaetd BAPIs are stored under a BOR. Check the table TOJTB for the BOR and then in that BOR we can find the related BAPIs.

Adding found material in Cycle count by Quant in warehosue - LICC

Hi Gurus,
Hope everybody is doing great.
We activated the cycle count by quant in t-code LICC(cycle count in warehosue by quant). e.g. we have 3 material sin the list. After the count we found that there is another material in the bin. I tried to go into the change pysical inventory document and add the material but there is no option to add this.I tried to add the found material in t-code LI11N - enter count but the add new item is disable and doesn't allow. Can anybody please guide how to handle with the found material? Is there any setting in the customizing we need to activate to allow this? Please advice.

Many thanks for your quick reply. The new item button is available and when I tried to click it this is the message we get:
*With quant inventory, new item or single entry not allowed*

*For Cycle Counting per quant, only the quants entered in the inventory document can be counted. It is not possible to add a further inventory item manually, or to enter inventory data per individual entry.*
It make sense that since there is no quant of the material so you can not have it in teh inventory document BUT there shoudl be a way to add the FOUND Materials also right?

Physical Inventory vs. Cycle Counting

Hi Experts -
In the absence of the Cycle counting indicator and ABC Analysis is it safe to say that Cycle Counting is not a relevant scenario?
Physical inventory is different PI doc > Count > Recount > Clear differences.
What is the standard functionality if both the ABC and CC indicator is not set?

you are right if the CC indicator is not set in the material master then cycle count is not a relevant scenario. Cycle count is one of the method however you can define the system for Continuous count or Annual inventory in addition to both the option you can also activate
PlcmntInv(Continuous inventory upon placement into stock)
ZeroCkin (Continuous inventory based on zero stock check during removal of stock from bin)
The normal Physical inventory process is
Create & Activate a PI Doc (LI01N)---- Count (LI11N) / RecounT (LI14, if required)------Clear difference in WM(LI20) ---Clear difference in IM (LI21)

Physical Inventory Count...

Hello Gurus.
We are trying to perform our first Physical Inventory. Our procedures our Installer provided, does not seem complete..... We start by entering LX16, and selecting what storage type and range of bins we want to perform the search on. We then activate after selection. Then next step is to goto LI11N to enter the counts, but when does the Inventory Document print? How can i enter counts If i have no document to go off of?? Are these procedures wrong? If anybody has any insight, please advise on the proper steps/transactions. Thx Zach

well the process given is accurate
the moment u create pi document in system by entering the stock typa and the bin no.
and once u post that then system should genrate the document print out autmatically as pr ur message dtermination strategy
once again i will say the process is correct
