WM- -Production Material Staging process

hi friends
i cant do material staging ,i configured the following steps
1 OMK0 - Check all the settings are ok
2 PK05 - Supply area is created and assigne to Plant/Storage location
3 WM PP staging control - check what staging indicator is assigned
4 Check any storage bin created for Production supply storage type 100 in LS03N
5 Check in LPK3 whether control cycle is created for ST 100 with bin for plant and suplply area
6 Also check Supply area is assigned to Work center in CR03
             7 maintain WM1 & 2 views for compnents
i  issued the stock against production order. i did TR and TO and stock is showing in the  914 storage   type..
i have the error"no wm relevant components exist function not possible"
then what i do next steps....
pls suggest to me to do production order process

The system determines the material staging type on the basis of the control cycle and determines the production storage bins, in which the components should be staged.
Please take a look at this topic: WM-PP interface - material staging
This information: Material Staging - Warehouse Management System (WMS) - SAP Library
And this one too: Control Cycle - Warehouse Management System (WMS) - SAP Library
This will help you understand the staging process in detail and is quite easy to read.

  • WM material staging & process order

    HI Team,
    1. Is there any relationship between the control cycle with the TR creation process in process order?
Suppose there is one process order created (COR1) with production schedule profile saying 'No creation of transfer requirement on release'.
So this time no matter what, the system will not create any TR while releasing the process order, is this correct?
    2. Suppose there is a process order for finished good 'A' and 'B' is the component.
Process order is having production schedule profile saying 'Only creation of Transfer requirement on release'.
Now control cycles are maintained for material 'B" with material staging indicator '3'.
Would the TR be created while releasing the process order?
Is there any relation between the control cycles and the process order and also with production schedule profile?
Please advice on the query in detail.
    Thanks,

  • 2step picking for Material staging

    Hi All,
We are thinking of implementing 2 step picking for Material staging process (Production area). Please share the overview in terms of how different it is (customization settings/process flow) for material staging process as against the picking for deliveries.

    Hi,
    Just some ideas:
    1. Users should create production orders with same parameters (order type, organisational level, etc), materials, etc...
    - if it works for both of them then the problem might be that they use different parameters during their normal works...
    - if it works for only one of them the problem is likely user-dependent... You can try it with other users...
    2. Are you using immediate TO creation?
If yes, please read note 566090. This note explains how it works and also suggests the use of mail control >>> you will get message via mail why it doesn't work...
    3. If you are using auto TO creation...
...system creates the TOs from the TRs via report RLAUTA10. This should be run as background job. I don't think you use this since you mentioned that the TO is created immediately from the TR.
However, if you use this, some development should work, and I think you should check the development and the paraemters of thie mentioned report (why it works in user-dependent way)...

  • Material staging during Process Order..TR issue

    Hello,
For creating a TO I am going to transaction LB13 for a Process Order but I am not able to see the TR.
When I went in the Process Order and manually clicked WM staging I found that there is an error as mentioned below. The problem is it is an issue for only some Process Order as most of the other Process Orders are getting the WM staging(TR created automatically) and I can see in the LB13.
Can you tell me based on the error what the issue would be.
Is it something to do with the config in Production Scheduler Profile for TR creation?
No picking request was generated for operation 0020 due to incompleteness
    Message no. LP133
    Diagnosis
The pick requirement created for the pick parts ( material staging indicator "1") is incomplete. Errors occurred while the system was staging goods for WM. Therefore, the system could not convert all the relevant components into pick requirements. For this reason, no pick requests were created since material staging of only part of the components would cause problems in production.
    Let me know ASAP
    Thanks
    SAP Fans...

    Hi,
For the operation 0020 check what is the resource used. Now check what is the supply area you have maintained for that resource or in material master.
use transaction LPK3 and check out the control cycle set-up. the staging indicator should be 1.
Also check the component screen of the process order and make sure the storage location is the same that is used in production supply area.
Also make sure the material has been correctly assigned to that operation for which you are getting issue.
Once you do these changes....you might have to create a new order to test this.
    Try and revert back.

  • Material staging in production with IM and WM storage locations

    Hello,
I have the following situation at hand in a Client.
They use Process Orders and want to do material staging of the components.
The Production Supply área is an IM managed storage location but the storage location of the components is WM managed.
The staging should take place as pick parts (control cycle) transfering the components from the WM storage location to the IM production Storage location.
Im not sure we need to use Deliveries instead of Transfer Requirements.
Is this escenario posible and if so, how to configure it.
    Thanks for any reply.
    Aart

    Aart,
For Transfer requirement creation for production order components WM staging please follow below steps.
1.Activate PP interface in Warehouse number control for PP interface in Logistic execution.
2.You need to assign WM replenishment movement type 319 against the production supply storage type.
3.In production scheduling profile all necessary WM TR/TO configuration to be done based on your requirement.
    4.Create PSA in PK05.
    5.Create Control cycle in LPK1.
6.Assign the PSA to production work centers.
With above settings once production order is released TR gets created which could be converted to TO manually or automatically for further process.

  • Material Staging for Production

    Hi,
When WM is implemented, is it really necessary to use Production supply area and Control Cycle? or only Interim storage area 100 is sufficient? We are not using any KANBAN features,,
    Regards
    Shrinivas

When WM is implemented, is it really necessary to use Production supply area and Control Cycle? or only Interim storage area 100 is sufficient? We are not using any KANBAN features,,
    1.
If you use WM/PP interface, you use interim storage type 100 for material staging. In this case production supply area is a must.
In this scenario you move the pick parts to the interim storage type (100) by processing the TR that is created at the time of PrdOrd release (e.g.).
Please notice that no IM movement is posted at that time. When you get the parts in interim storage type you post IM-mvt 261 and consume the components (so, first WM movements and after that comes IM movmement). Storage type 100 behaves like an interim storage type.
    2.
If you don't use WM/PP interface you use interim storage type 914. First you post IM-mvt 261 and after that processing the TR (that is created as a consequence of IM booking) you will get the TO and move the parts from normal storage type to 914.
So, in this case WM movements come after IM movement.

  • WM Material Staging  for Production Order

    Hi,
In the process order txn Cor3, Go to > List > WM pick list>  the initial screen is  Display WM Material Staging  for Production Order. In the All parts tab, could you please help me on how to be able to populate the fields in the  BSI, Category and Storage Bin. Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Dear Ellen,
If you set the cursor on 'BSI' field and push F1 you'll get an explanation about the meaning of each category.
    '"<i>1" pick list item
This materials are picked according to the required quantity specified in the production order.
    '2': Crate or kanban parts
These materials are always removed from the warehouse in full cases. These can be ordered, for example, as soon as a case of needed parts is emptied in production.
    '3': Release order parts
Release order parts are scheduled individually and the quantities are supplied manually to replenishment storage bins based on the requirements of production orders and the stock levels in the scheduled production supply areas.
    "0" not relevant to WM-PP
These materials are not relevant for WM production supply and cannot be requested using the WM system.</i>'
    For instance:
You can set raw materials / SFG as pick parts if warehouse workers have to collect those parts from high racks (from different places) and they have to provide an exact qty for the PrdOrd.
We use '4' (manual staging) for huge alu rolls that are near the machine and WH workers have nothing to do with it - the operators, who deal with the machine, have to put the new rolls on it.
When we issue the PrdOrd the requirements of this material won't appear in LB10 since WH has nothing to do with them.
'Storage bin' filed will contain a value automatically, if your settings are proper.
E.g. you have to define the default 'stock removal' & 'stock placement' storage type on WM view of material master.
Additionally you have to define control cycles for materials you use for your production. (LPK1)
The control cycle says from which storage type & bin you want to consume the components.

  • Can i create production order using process material ?

    Dear All.
    Please help me.
I want to create production order using process material (material type is PROC).
For may knowledge, process order is standard for the process material, but my customer want to use the PP module for the process material.
But I cant convert the planned order of precess material to production order in MD05.
The system message is "System does not support planned orders for process materials."
The followings are my test steps.
      1. Master Creation
          - Material Master, BOM, ROUTING
In standard, process material (Material Type : PROC) need creation of master recipe. But due to my clients need (Using production order
for the process material), I create the work center and ROUTING
      2. DM Creation
          - In MD61, I create the planned independent requirement (Type : LSF)
      3. Planned order creation for the process material using MRP
          - In MD01, I run the total MRP, the the planned order is created.
            It's order type is "LA"
      4. Converting the planned order to Production Order
          - In this step, the system give the error "System does not support planned orders for process materials."
             and can not do anything.
I want to know that the above case is possible, and how.
    Please Help meu2026..

    Hi
First of if yur want to create production order or process order why do you go for material type :PROC.
you can create the same material as FERT & go ahead.
I do not understand the logic to select the material type as PROC.
Pl. go through SAP library where PROC is used.

  • Best practice - material staging for production order

    Hi Experts,
could any of You pls, support me with some hints of best practice how to handle material staging WM-PP interface in a certain case?
Up till now we had a system, where production had no separate location in IM, but one location existed including raw material wh and production. In the same time in WM we had separate storage types for production and raw materials u2013 hence we did material staging transferring goods only inside one IM location between different WM storage types. The material staging should be done based on separate prd. orders.
Now this need to be changed and separate location need to be handled in IM for production u2013 which means the staging should be done between different IM locations and WM administration also need to be handled.
Up till now we used LP10 for staging, then LB13 for TO creation etc. We can keep going like that, but if do so, there is another step required in IM u2013 movement 311, where material numbers and qty need to be added manually to finish the whole procedure. I would like to avoid this u2013 which makes the administrational procedure quite long.
I have been checking the following possibilities:
    1.     Set released order parts-staging at control cycle and use MF60 for staging u2013 but I can not select requirements based on pro ordders here (only able to find demand if component including into selection)
    2.     Two step transfer 313/315 u2013 but this not a supported procedure u2013 313 TI /TO / 315
    3.     Try to find solution how to create 311 movement based on TO or based on WM stock at certain storage type / dynamic bin.
    I have failed.
So, could any of You pls, support me with some useful ideas, how to handle material staging where 311 included and definetly the last step of procedure, but administrator does not need to enter items manually one by one in MIGO.
    All answers will be appreciated

    Hi,
Storage location control should be able to take care of your problem.
If you want to stage the material to a different IM location then the WM location then make the following settings
If location xxxx is your WM location and location yyyy is your Production location.
You have defined Production storage type ZZZ for production storage location YYYY and have maintained the supply area for the same
In WM configuration - For interfaces - IM interface-Control of Assignment "Plant / Stor.Loc. - Whse Number"
Assign location XXXX as the Standard Location. Maintain entry donot copy sloc in TR for location YYYY
In WM configuration - For interfaces - IM interface-  Storage Location control for WH
This entry ensures that there will be a WM tarnsfer Posting between your WM and Production storage Location automatically when you confirm your TO. You can have this done via a btach job also if you want cumulative posting. (schedule job RLLQ0100)

  • Material staging for process order

    Dear All,
Can we use material staging for process orders.
If possible pls brief the procedure.
    Subbu.

    Using warehouse management /WM) :
    - Create a control cycle for the component, using LPK1. Here you define if the supply will be specific for the order (when weighing takes place in the warehouse) or for released orders (normallu full packages of components and weighing is done at plant level). Reference to a supply area.
    - The resource used in the operation has a reference to the supply area.
    - Components have material master views in WM for the selected storage type
Then, when releasing the orders run LP10 - LP12 to generate the Transfer requirements for the raw materials. These TR will be converted to Transfer Orders and Confirmed, so the stock will be moved to your supply area.
Using Inventory Management, none of the above is required. You can use MF60 to move materials from General Storage Location to Shop Floor SLoc.

  • Material Staging for Production Order

    Hi,
I am doing Material Staging against production Order using T Code MF60. We don't have WM setup in the enterprise structure so the Staging is done via IM Mvmt. Type 311. My problem is that the material document created using MF60 does not have a reference of Production order or vise versa. Can anyone suggest a configuration or a user exit that can be used to make a reference link between the Production Order and the Staging Document?
    Thanks
    Arvind

    Hi!,
Though whatever you are asking for is not possible with standard SAP but you can try this work around solution:
    Click on replenishment element.
Now in MF60  Menu > View > Table column > Select " All Column" (after clicking ).
Now system will show some open fields (like Goods recipient, unloading point etc) on replen. element.
There in one of the field like unloading point (which you are not using elsewhere) you can enter the production order number so when you stage the same that order number will be saved in that document and you can get it from RESB table against the reservation number.
To automate the same you can use some enhancement with above logic.
I hope this helps in resolving your problem.

  • Material staging indicator not populating in prod order WM pick list item

    Hello,
I have an issue with material staging in an prod order
    1) PP-WM interface is activated
    2) Control cycle for material is created
    3) Production storage location is created for material
    4) storage type is 100 for production
    5) There is one discontinued material and also the follow up material
    6) stock of discontinued material is zero and requirement are passed to follow up material
When we confirm the order the stagging indicator for both follow up material as well as discontinued material automatically populates zero (Non relevence to pick list items) where as it should be one (1 - for pick list items).
One more issue user has manually inserted discontinued material as well as follow up material in production order change mode.
In the BOM of a main material both discontinued as well as follow up material is there with some quantity as a component.
For the same work center, control cycle , production storage location the indicator is populating.
These two material (discontinued as well as follow up) are appearing twice in the WM pick list screen where first two line items are OK and populating indicator "1". But in line item last and second last indicator is not there.
My question is why the stagging indicator is not automatically populating in the production order WM pick list screen in front of components.

Unfortunately, WM material staging via production orders is not possible
from the pull list.  Please see the long text of message RMPU 311
(WM material staging for production order reservation not possible):
"You cannot carry out a WM material provision for pick parts from
production order reservations in the pull list". The reasons for this
are cleary explained in the SAP on-line documentation via the
    following path :
Logistics -> Logistics Execution -> Warehouse Management Guide ->
Goods Issue -> Goods Issue for Production Supply ->
      Material Staging for Repetitive Manufacturing
See the following under the Selection heading :
The choice of the selection type influences which types of WM material
staging are supported in the pull list. However, the pick parts can be
staged via RS headers/planned orders but not with the current BOM
explosion. The release order parts, on the other hand, can also be
staged if the current BOM is used for calculating the dependent
    requirements.
WM material staging via production orders is not possible from the pull
    list.
I think you may try in CO02 or COR2 for production order or process order.

  • WM- Material staging between two warehouses

    Hi all.
My question is: is it possible to make material staging when warehouse in production order is different from raw material warehouse and raw material warehouse is managed by WM in two steps? I mean, confirming when it has been picked from origin warehouse and when it has arrved destination warehouse.
We need to transfer components from 0001-WM (raw material) warehouse into 0007 (production) and it is necessary to do it in two steps because most of the materials wait in a intermediate area. I thought in creating deliveries to use two-step picking but I don´t want to use purchase order (I am not sure if this flow is possible without pruchase order).
Is there any other choices to handle this process?
Many thanks in advance and best regards.

1 - Why the R/3 divided the material staging into two tab portions?
The first part obviously is for materials staged via pick parts. The second is a comprehensive list of materials that have to be staged from the warehouse irrespective of the type of staging.
2 - Can I use the LP10 and LP12 to manually perform material staging instead of directly via CO02 menu route?
You can use LP10 for staging pick part relevant materials. Typically, WM staging is triggered automatically however, you can manually stage either via CO02 or LP10. Note that LP12 is used for release order parts and it'd require the relevant control cycles that have 'release order part' indicator.
3 - Since our setup is using WMPP delivery, will LP10 and LP12 create delivery order as my understand is that LP10 and LP12 will create TR.
Since your staging set up is set via deliveries, LP10 will trigger the same.

  • Automate WM material staging for release order parts.

    Hi all,
We use LP12 for monitoring WM Material Staging of Release Order parts. Is there a way to automate the process of WM Material Staging for Release Order parts?
Is there is any Standard SAP Program which can be run in the background or user exit to achieve this?
    Pl suggest
    Regards
    SB

    Hi Arunachalam,
You can configure WM staging settings in Production Scheduling Profile (OPKP)
You need to update WM Request field and the available options are:
No creation of transfer requirements on order release
X   Only creation of transfer requirements on release
1   Transfer requirement and transfer order on release
Hope this will solve your problem.
    Please check and Revert.

  • Rounding Profile for Material Staging

    To All
Is it possible to use a rounding profile for materials used in material staging transaction LP12?
Currently it totals production order demands. e.g.
    Prod Order 1000000
    Material A
    Requirement 0.6kg
    Prod Order 1000001
    Material A
    Requirement 0.7kg
So quantity to be staged to the PSA is shown as 1.3kg.
I know I can manually overide the quantity and enter 2 kg and process. However, how can I get LP12 to 'round up' the total quantity so that the screen diplays 2 kg to process instead of manually entering it?
Do I use the Rounding Profile in MRP1?

Rounding Profile is used to define the quantity of the planned orders during MRP run. It's not related to staging.
I wonder if you can use some different strategy in the control cycle : "2" crate parts and this can solve your issue...
But if you can work wtih cummulative quantities from released order, there is no solution in the standard.
Another option to explore is the HU (handling units) .
