WM: TO creation splitting per storage type

Hi all.
I would like to know how to split a GR in different TO and the different possibilities:
per storage type
one item (in material document)=one TO per item
Is it customizing? Does a user exit exist?

In config. see all the options under:
Logistics Execution \ WM \ Activities \ Transfers \ Processing perf. data \ TO split
Sort and split TO items
You can assign a performance data profile to a transfer order with the movement type key, source storage type key or the destination storage type key. Since the storage types are on the item level rather than header level in the transfer order, an implicit split is executed for transfer orders with performance data profiles, which makes the performance data profile valid for all items.
An explicit split may be preferable for organizational reasons. Some examples include executing a split according to picking areas or when a parameter barrier for volume, weight, or target time is reached. A suitable TO item sort is a prerequisite for a meaningful split.

In this node for your warehouse number and storage type combination activate the check box SUT check active.

1)Storage unit type is assigned to the eacj warehouse number.
2)It is activated for each storage type in the warehouse.
3)Goto SPRO->LE->Warehouse mangmt->Mater Data->Material->Define storage unit type.
4)Here you assign storage unit type to warehouse number
5)You can activate SU mngmt at warehouse level here:
SPRO->LE->Warehouse mangmt->Storage Unit->Master Data->Activate SU mngmt per warehouse number
6)You can also activate SU mngmt at storage type level
SPRO->LE->Warehouse mangmt->Master Data->Define storage type.

ECC6.0 WM creation of one TO per Storage Type

Hello,
I'm currently implementing WM at my customer using various Storage Types. During testing we created GR in IM for 2 materials (in one document), one of them is relevant to quality inspection but the other one is not.
TO creation has been done automatically (as expected) from interim storage type 902 GR area) to interim storage type 917 (quality area) for the first position. Also a position for the second line has been created from 902 to storage type 042 (main shelf).
Technically this is all OK. However I was expecting to have 2 TO's instead of 1 TO with 2 positions. How can I trigger the system to create a seperate TO per destination storage type?

WM - LX04 Capacity used per Storage Type

Yes, I selected 'only unblocked bins'.
I thought, it's was a customizing problem but I don't know where I can change it.
Other storage location works.

Storage area search for storage type

Hi Gurus,
iam trying to create a TO for initiainl Inventory load ( movement typer - 999), I enter the source storage type / section / Bin and dest storage type / section / Bin. Iam facing the error ' No storage area search has been defined for this material and storage type '. Please advise

Please check whether you have maintained storage type indicator in WM view for a material.
Also check whether you have maintaied storage type search, bin creation for the storage type.

Fixed bins to be defined in a storage type

I have multiple materials in a storage type in which some of the bins need to be assigned as fixed bins and some of them not. Is this possible ? I have a requirement to use the fixed bins to be replenished from High rack.If this is not possible then I need to create so many sections to make sure each material need to be putaway in one assigned bin for that material.
Any ideas?

PutAway and Picking Strategies are determined at Storage Type level.
So you can only have one strategy per Storage Type : either FIXED BINS or another strategy.
One Storage type does not have to be BINs next to one another.....
In the same physical space you can have two storage types where some BINs are Fixed Bins in one Storage Type and some BINs are not fixed Bins in the other Storage Type....that is one possibility.
If that is not possible, then I would look at having a PutAway and Picking Strategies that are so restrictive for each material that they have to go to a specific BIN .
Those are only a few ideas, it really depends on what your constraints are, how many materials are concerned, etc....
And finally, there is the user-exit option.....

MLGT - How to find the Storage Type

Hello,
I have been trying to use MLGT to find the storage type but I have discovered this table does not have all the records. For example - I know that material AAAAAA using Wharehouse number BBB should show CCC for Storage type but when I look in MLGT I see that AAAAAA does not have a record that uses wharehouse number BBB. When I look in MM03 I see that the material has CCC for the storage type.
Does anyone know why this table would not have all the records? Is there a better table to get the storage type?

I am not able to catch what you try to achieve.
MLGN-LTKZE is just an indicator. if it has the name of a storage type, then either by design or just by chance.
SAP takes this indicator to lookup the placement strategy. (setup in trx OMLY).
There you can see all possible storage types.
A storage type view at a material master is almost only needed if you use fixed bin strategy. then you can specify the fixed bin per storage type in a material.

Delivery creation with respect to Storage Type

Hi Gurus,
Can we have a control on the deliveries creation with respect to the storage Types.
The situation is to have the outbound deliveries created only from a perticular storage type neglecting other storage types. Is there any customization?

For this you have to define storage type serch strategy,
Path,
LE> WM>Master data >Material>storage type indicator \
LE> WM>Master data >Material>storage section indicator
Then,
LE> WM>Strategires>activate storage type serch (whmaintion indicator -- st type)
LE> WM>Strategires-->activate storage section serch (wh -- maintion indicator -- st section)
Maintain the material master with warehouse number & storage type.
( In the case of fixed bin maintain the storage bin in wm-2 view)
Maintain the storage type indicator & storage section indicator.
If you have allready maintained the storage type search strategy then remove the symbol *** from yor storage type search.

How TO can be split from one customer return delivery based on storage type?
For example,
If I have 3 storage type, ST1, ST2, ST3 then and how can I divide the items in to three different TOs of respective storage types from one customer return delivery? Can I use u201Ccontrol for performance data configuration? If yes then provide detail steps.

Split TO based on Storage Type

Hi all:
My client doesn't want split TO based on Storage Type.
System is doing split TO based on SHF storage type.
Have configured a total of 14 Warehouse numbers (001 to 014).
Have configured three storage types, FRK, PLT and SHF, for WN 001.
No SU. No HU.
Only two of them (004 and 012) are configured for TO split under "Processing performance data processing / Define TO split". WN 001 is not.
System is creating a separated TO for materials in SHF.
Release ECC 6.0
Is there any other place where I can configure TO split based on storage types?

Its a process of introducing Picking Area's Concept.
Based on the Storage type, system will create the transfer order, even though you club all the materials from different storage types in one sales order or in one delivery.
Explore in Picking Areas....let me know if you need any help.

Storage Type change in the transfer order after creation with MDE

Hello ,
With the MDE transaction ZMDETSP the transfer between storage locations is done and the transfer order created in the background.
I would like to know if in standard SAP the modification of the storage type is possible after the TO is created therefore also in MDE.
I changed the bin with LT1D but impossible for the storage type.
I know, user exits BUT there must be other solutions, no ?!!

You have to do the configuration to change the storage type in TO.
IMG>LE>WM>Strategies>Activate storage type search , Here you have to give both the storage type.
Also you need to change the storage type at the time of TO creation not duirn confirmation

Masking - Split TO by Storage Type

Hi! I want to create split TO by storage type. I have created the sort profile and split profile. Now, I need to configure when split TO should take place via LE> WM >activities > transfers > processing performance data / TO split. However, I do not want to key in every source or destination storage type or movement type. Is there are way to put in a mask in those fields? I tried * but it didn't work.
Appreciate any help on that.

Hi SF,
I have checked in the system.
You can enter the masked entry for source and destination storage type in the table T312. But you must enter the warehouse number and movement type mandatorily. May be you can check with the user exit MWMTO012 to define your own split ciriteria.
Because generally the transfer order sorting and splitting is done based on the warehouse and movement type combination

SUT Error at TO Creation from Non-SU to SU managed Storage type

Hi
I am creating TO to move quants from Non-SU Manged Storage type to SU managed Storage type, but at first its giving error saying Enter SUT for storage type. These Non-SU managed Storage types are not having SUT Check but SU Managed storage type is having SUT Check.
I tried to update WM view-2 with SUT and palletization but still issue exists.
I am having batch job for RLAUTA10 where TR is converted to TO but due to above issue , this batch job is getting failed.
I am deseperately trying to find the root cause and fix this asap. Let me know how this issue can be resolved??

Like I mentioned earlier in my posts, SU's are typically not managed in interim storage types. Apparently, in this case, the PSA is an SU managed location and you are trying to move inventory from a non-SU ST to SU PSA ST. The isse that you are encountering is due to the reason that the palletization data maintained in the material master is defaulted during receipts rather than staging therefore, the SUT field in the TR remains blank. But, due to business reasons you are using SU's in PSA's then you'd have to venture into development options to include SU types during automatic converion of staging TRs into TOs.

High Level Bin Search, before Storage Type Search

Can anyone help me to guide, which user Exit/Badi, be used for searching Empty bins, before storage type search. I come to know from one of colleague below message.

Background: Want to do putaway with storage type 007: Our high rack is having space (Bins) with different capacity. One rack can have 4 type of racks.

a) We have 98 racks in Warehouse.
b) Product is Ball Bearing.
c) Bearings are handeled in Ea, Issue and Stock unit is Ea
d) Alternate Unit of Measure is Box, i.e. per box quantity is mentioned into Material Master.
e) Each Rack is having 5 different type of bins.
f) We want to fill rack from bottom to top for first rack, and then next rack.
g) Once we do putaway for any material, each time system should pick Next empty bin, and each bin type is different.
Case 1) If going with Storage Type 007:
                i) Need to maintain palletization data in Material master WM view 2.
               ii) Can not maintain any capacity check for Capacity utilization in Material Master. Capacity is only Pallatization data.
              iii) While creating TO, System goes for placemet of material from bottom to Top in Rack, but give similar quantity for each bin, & these quantities are defined from Material Master from Palletization data.
              iv) In this case it is not checking bin capacity.
My query:
i) How can we split quantity during TO Creation based on Next Empty Bin avaialbe with certain capacity and all further bins with other capacity.
ii) Can we have different type of bins in one storage type if we are going for Storage type 007. or it is mandatory to have similar kind of bins.
Case 2) If going for Storage type 002:
              i) Not maintined Palletiztaion data in Material master.
             ii) Maintining capacity check in WM View 1.
            iii) Maintained Capacity check in Bin master.
            iv) WHile careting TO , system doesnot spilt quantity for next empty bins avaialbe, Only one line item comes for whole quantities. and system throw an error.

My query: How can we split TO quantity as per next empty bins available.
