Wma 9.1 for muvo 128

im just new to mp3 players... just want to ask if the MuVo 28mb plays wma 9. files or it does only play wma 9 files?
im planning to use wma 9. if possible in order to double the number of songs to store on my MuVo.. suggestions ?
sorry for my bad english
^_^

Short answer---it will play fine.
Longer answer---9. is the WMP0 implementation of WMA9 (same basic codec). I don't know what changed in it, but I doubt you will hear anything. WMA is a standard codec and if your player supports any version, it supports them all. WMA 9 (or 9.) is a far superior compression codec than WMA 7 or 8, though (these came in previous versions of Windows Media Player). Here's something I was just about to post in another thread---try to compress your files for your player using something other than WMP0; that is, make a smaller copy (like 64KBS) using WMP0 and also try something else. I have had some really bad results with WMP0 compressing high-bitrate MP3 files (VBR) down to 64KBS WMA CBR for my Zen Nano Plus. The Creative software I got with the Nano makes clean copies--same 64KBS WMA CBR, same original MP3---go figure.

  • Petition: Programable play mode for MuVo V200 (and posibly othe

I would like to suggest ti include a programable play mode for MuVo V200 (and N200), I mean, a a play mode wich the user could select one-by-one songs on the MuVo and then the MuVo play those songs in the given order.
Creative may implement this by introducing virtual folders, folders that only contains references to the stored songs, so user could use the existing diferent play modes over those folders.
I think there's no technical reason that avoids this feature, but I know it may be not simple.
    Thanks.
PD: Oh, of course I suggest Ogg Vorbis support, I don't care if my battery stands half time (WMV do it also, but no so hard), but I know Creative don't like Ogg Vorbis

The MuVo's don't have rescue mode, except for the MuVo?.

  • Syntax for WEP-128 in /etc/network.d/ ?

    Hello,
I've succeeded in getting my wireless network controller working in Arch, only I have to enable it manually since I get "could not associate wlan0" on bootup. It's because I hadn't written a configuration file for wlan0 in /etc/network.d so I'm doing that now, *but* I've run into the following confusion:
I've seen the syntax for plain old WEP encryption in /etc/network.d/examples, but is it different for WEP 128 ASCII, which is what I'm using on my network? I ask because the syntax for /etc/rc.conf is different between the two types of encryption, and I've googled it to no avail. I was wondering if anyone here had the answer. Thank you.

I should mention that I also deleted the line
    #SPLASH_EFFECTS=$(e=();IFS=',';for w in $splash;do [[ $w == fade* ]]&&e+=($w);done;echo "${e[*]}")
since i don't really need it.
After a rebeoot the error still persists...
    What is my fault?

  • No support for Muvo NX 128 mb mp3 player data recove

I'm from Singapore, one of the reason I'm posting this on the forum is to seek help and broadcasting of my helpless situation I'm in, for awareness.
I have a Creative Muvo NX 28 mb mp3 player, own for more then three years, without giving me problems and works almost prefectly fine. Its a good piece of device I would recommend to friends who love music and work a the same time. The piece of device can store 28 mb of files. Of course you have 52mb anf g of muvo which are better compared to mine.
Until recently, the device failed on me and the windows OS was not responding to open my dri'ves whenever I insert the muvo device. After series of diagnosis, it was certify by me that its a hardward mare-function. But Amazingly it was still able to play music when in a mp3 player mode, but unable to read the flash dri've on a window base OS which I usually can.
For studing the problems, I have to go through salvation to open the player phyiscally.
Knowing that my warranty has long gone, I decided to recovery by myself and realise something the device is made up of two circuit boards. Its over technical to explain what I saw and to cut short, my data in the memory is not dmg and is believe it can be recoverable possibly!
I hope creative support would help me as the data are important, not music but work related files.
Unfortunately I approach the Asia Service Support, supposely to be the best but ended up wasn't successful to RESOLVE MY PROBLEM.
To make matter worst, the muvo NX 28mb player is not avaliable in the market easy and I have troubles getting the parts to fix the broken device
For the benefit of those who are using memory flash-base mp3 players, CREATIVE does not offer a DATA recovery service, even if it happens that you need to retrieve important data stored in those players which in case happens to fail on you!
In the end, this happens to me all the time in Singapore..i couldn't get a satisfying support from Creative... I have learned that Creative are not competent in supporting repairs or data recovery for older creative users like me..
I have sort out everything I could, and hope someone can help me out in getting those files back...

  • MuVo 128 won't keep for

I have a MuVo 28 that is about 2 years old. It seems to have some kind of formatting problem. I reformat and then transfer tracks, but the tracks sound corrupt, with numerous blank spots and occasionally I can hear bits of old tracks. When I re-insert the player in the USB port, I get a message saying that it is not formatted.
I have tried everything that I found in the knowledge base and have re-instlled the software from the CD as well as tried the new drivers, etc.
Is it possible that the device simply cannot be formatted anymore?

Well, I decided to try (for the 3rd time) executing the firmware update program I downloaded from the Creative site, after inserting the device while holding the play button. I did everything the same as I had done before, but this time it worked and have listened to two tracks without problem.
I hope this will be a permanent solution.
    Good luck!

  • Maximum number of songs for muvo tx

I thought it would be impossible, but i managed to fit probably close to 2 hours of music on my muvo tx fm 52 mb. However, My muvo tx fm will only play a certain number of songs... it just won't see the rest. (for example, i have 7 folders full of music. my muvo tx fm only sees 6 of them.. even then in the sixth folder the muvo tx fm will only play one song.) Because of this i rule out a maximum number of folders. Will the muvo tx fm only play a certain number of songs or only play so many hours of music? I am currently converting about 20 mb of my songs to wma, as all my songs save one are in the mp3 format, and i am seeing if having maybe half of my songs in another format would help. I'll also try upgrading the firmware to see if this may fix it. But if someone has an answer now, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

I too am experiencing the same problem. I have a gig tx fm and the player will only recognize 50 folders. Anything beyond that is lost; however I can play the files thru WMP0 when the player is plugged in via usb. Furthermore, 3 or 4 of the 50 folders that are visible on the player just get skipped; the files contained in them won't play. These files aren't corrupt or anything, they too will play thru WMP0. I have tried the firmware update .3.03 which lists--[*]Displays recorded tracks accurately when the player contains more than 50 folders.</LI>
as one of the included fixes. This problem is really bugging me as I have maybe a handful of songs by a variety of different artists and would prefer to keep them in separate folders by artist. If, in fact, it is true that the MuVo will only support 50 folders my whole plan for music organization is out the window. Any ideas out there since last post?

  • Mixture of mp3 and wma files on my muvo

I got a muvo tx last week as a gift. I copied about 250K of mp3 and wma files to it from my laptop running windows xp pro. The player plays all of the mpe files with no problem but won't play any of the wma files. The wma files were ripped from a cd using Windows Media Player.
Any advice on playing the wma files will be appreciated. The little manual that came with the player says it will play mp3, wma, and wav files.

    JimR,
For WMA audio files with DRM protection, you will need to use either Windows Media Player or Creative MediaSource application to do the transferring of the files to the player. Only by using these application can the license be transfer to the player to allow playback.
Try ripping the Audio CD again but this time go to the Windows Media Player 9 setting option and ensure that the 'Copy protect music' option is disabled.

  • Need Help for Muvo TX FM 512

Cannot get player to play music from files on my computer. All it will do is turn on, go through the creative logo and turn off. Not on for more than 2-3seconds to
    ps.
These files are from cd's of mine that I saved onto my hard dri've. The cd's are older so I doubt very much that they are write protected. I also have files that I downloaded from Wal-Mart.com. All are in the WMA format. Tech support told me there must have been a corrupt file somewhere and to update my firmware. I updated Firmware .23.03. I have formatted the player. Still does not work. I can play FM, and I can add files all day long..but they won't play. At most, it will scroll the name of the song along the bottom of the screen as if playing, but there is a black square next to the minute counter (meaning stop?!?). Press play/pause...nothing, again?...nothing. I have updated the firmware again....nothing. I have not called tech support back, yet. I was hoping to find some answers on the forums. Can anyone help?

To transfer files from a CD... I place the cd in tray, close it, open Creative MediaSource Organizer and rip the CD...now what are my settings? I have it set on WMA Stereo, DRM enabled, 28 Kb
    ps.
Rip the tracks I want to my PC Music Library. Insert my mp3 player (hard calling it that as it yet has to play a track of anything), and set the Muvo TX FM as the destination source and transfer files. After transfer, close all windows, open My Computer, open Dri've F and there are my tracks...yeah, but wait. I safely remove hardware, and insert it into player and attempt to turn it on...3 seconds later...denied. SIGH. Okay, reinsert player, open Di've F...ohh surprise..not formatted. Click on my exe. with latest driver (see original post), reinstall original driver again. Reformat again using FAT not FAT32 per tech support. Safely remove hardware. Insert into player, turn on...yeah turns on, no music, but can access FM..okay so not a TOTAL waste of $$$. Reinsert into computer, open my computer, dri've F, empty file. It's recognized and formatted. OPen Creative MediaSource Organizer...transfer files..no error messages..repeat....repeat...repeat. Same result. Should I try FAT32? Should I try to rip a cd w/o using DRM enabled? Does the LCD screen need to come on when in usb port? I have not tried to rip CD's using WMP0 yet as CMsO came with the player. Is it better?Message Edited by drewj28 on 09--2006 09:38 PM

This won't ever be implemented. The MuVo's do not have internal clocks.
You won't get a wired remote because the MuVo's were never intended for such things. They're usually small enough to easily remove from the pocket etc etc anyway.
AC adaptor? I find this quite amusing. I think the plug and transformer to allow this kind of functionality would be bigger than the player. It seems rather ridiculous for a player without a rechargeable battery.
