Wma audio book plays too fast

I downloaded an audio book from the library, changed the speed to podcast, and the book still plays fast on my phone. It plays normal speed in itunes.

I have the same problem with an iPhone 4 OS version 5.1.1
Following advice on another site I restored the factory setting, re-loaded everythin and STILL the audio books purchased from iTunes play at high speed.
On my iPod touch the audio books play at the correct speed
On the computer using iTunes they also play at the correct speed.
Until there is a solution for thisissue  I will not be buying any more audio books from iTunes.
I hope that the good people at Apple support can give advice.

audio book plays too fast on the ipad - how do i fix it?

While I don't listen to audiobooks on myh iPad, the following might apply in your case:
When you navigate to the player controls in the iPod app, in older OS's, and perhaps still in the Music app in iOS 5, you will see a variable speed control on the right hand side of the scrubber bar. Sequential taps on that change the speeds.
This does appear in spoken content only, I think, as I see it in podcasts all the time. It's not there for video or music content, so I'd expect it to appear for Audiobooks as well.

  • Audio books play too fast on I pad

The audiobooks on my new I pad mini have started playing in double and triple time.  Ive tried pressing sleep and home which worked once but doesn't fix it now.  Any ideas.?

audio books play to fast on ipod

The scrubber bar is the bar that shows the progress of playing the podast. It is a line with a moving marker that movers to the right as
    http://www.nerdist.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/iOSpodcastappPOST.jpg
The above shows the scrubber bar and is for the Apple Podcast app. In that the speed control is the dial on the right, Tortoise is slow and rabbit is fast
This one shows the speed control n a different place

  • Music/audio plays too fast

using a new laptop (this compaq) and installed itunes. All music/audio, whether from a CD, or itunes or the audio from a website, plays too fast. I've tried lots of things -found a page in the support section (tried all except the driver thing) -- ANY THOUGHTS?? THis is driving me crazy and can't do anything w/ my ipod except listen to what's already on there!

You may want to check your soundcard output in QuickTime. See this post for directions on the process: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa;jsessionid=aXxb7IZbMDPmI_4E?messageID=814726&ft=y&#814726
And this Article: iTunes and QuickTime for Windows: Songs and other audio don't play correctly
And before you do any of the above, make sure that you have all the recent Windows Updates from windowsupdate.com. Make sure you have the latest drivers for your particular sound card, and make sure you have the latest DirectX installed. Any of these could also cause this problem without QuickTime being the culprit.

Streaming audio plays too fast on car stereo with iPhone 4S

how do you play it on the car stereo?
because if it's using the 3.5mm headset connector or even the analog out from the pin30 then it's
100% the same sound output from the phone as it provide a headset

i am getting books from my librery with the new OverDrive and most of the good books are in wma with drm
i have try alots of comverter and soem of then work but u have to pay for then .. is there a free comverter? does anyone know how to make it work?

My library is the same way- audiobooks are windows format from OverDrive, and they won't work on an iPod.
I've been thinking about buying a lame MP3 player for that, too. An el-cheapo, but then I don't know if it will save the place in the book, so I'm still on the fence.

  • How can I fix corrupted audiobooks category--plays too fast and is gravelly?

How can I fix corrupted audiobooks category--plays too fast and is gravelly? Other music categories are unaffected..

On the audio book (and podcast) playing screen there is a playback speed selector. It is the box on the right hand side of the screen right below the scrubber bar. It say either 1/2X, 1X or 2X, the playback speeds. Tap the box to cycle through the playback speeds.

Your best bet would be to contact OverDrive to see what they allow for conversion. Looking at their website, they state they provide products which are compatible with itunes.

  • Bounced tracks play too fast in iTunes

This is a continuation of an old thread that was never resolved:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=853393
Basically, nothing has changed. I can bounce my tracks from Logic, and they play fine everywhere except iTunes, where they play too fast. I can play them on my iPod in the car and everything works at normal speed.
All my iTunes tracks (including the ones bounced from Logic) share the following characteristics:
    192 kbps
    44.1 kHz
    Profile: Low Complexity
However, the Logic tracks play fast, whereas everything else plays normally.
    I have a standard G5 sound card, not a 3rd party one.
I'm about to conclude that this is a standard limitation with Logic, that tracks created there cannot be listened to at regular speed in iTunes. Is that a known issue? Is this limitation by design?

Sorry for the slow reply. Yes, that is the problem I'm having, and it's so weird, I thought maybe there was some wacky glitch in the program. Logic is not without its bizarre idiosyncrasies, as you've probably noticed yourself.
Check this out for bizarre: I've bounced these tunes down to my iPod, where I can listen to them over headphones, in my car, etc, with the tracks playing at the right speed. However, if I plug that same ipod into my home stereo in the living room (where the laptop is also plugged in), and play those same tracks, they play too fast. I know, it doesn't make sense. But I'm not imagining it. It's completely crazy.
In Audio Midi Setup my audio output is set for 44.1khz.
Anyhow, the problem is less consistent these days. That is, sometimes I can bounce a track down and it plays right. Othertimes, not. I still haven't found the common denominator to this problem, but if I discover anything, I'll post it here.

  • K72NG-ILSR media plays too fast / garbled sound

Using both Windows Media Player and Winamp. Both video and audio playback is too fast in both programs. The video skips frames and the audio skips and sounds garbled. However, when I play sound through Windows Sound Recorder, it is OK. Playback is also OK using WinDVD player. I was directed by MSI support to download the latest group of drivers, entitled "Nvidia nForce2 System Driver" at http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/driver/dvr/spt_dvr_list.php?part=1 . Will one of you guys with a similar setup please go to Device Manager and tell me what version of audio driver & Codec driver is the latest for the onboard sound? I'm not sure this is the problem, but it is a good place to start.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Mike

Sorry about this, I saw later in your signature you are running Windows 98.I tried to edit my reply, but to no avail. For some reason, I can't edit. The boards will not let me.Anyway, try to remove Winamp anyway and see what happens with the Media Player.By any chance you have Windows Media 9? That is another thread in itself!

  • Can not transfer WMA audio books to new iPhone 4S

I got a new 4S and went to sync it in iTunes and got a message saying I had to load the latest version of iTunes and went ahead and did it and it worked fine.  No issues and all synced and got all of my apps music and pictures!!  Then i went to transfer a WMA audio book using OverDrive Media and all functioned same as with my 3G phone except I can not find the books on my iPhone.  They are not in the iPod app now called Music.  Also not in the books app or in OverDrive.  Even asked Siri to find the book and she could not
    Any suggestions would be appreciated

    Hi
Sorry to disagree whist Audible might have recorded the books Apple puts it's own protection on the Audible files they sell in their iTunes Store unless they changed that policy quite recently.
They are dearer from iTunes at least in Australia, I will go out on a limb and say they are also in the US store
As an example I picked the fist 2 best sellers off of iTunes Australian Audio Book Store as an example,
I can only assume that either you are not an Audible Member and thus not seeing the Audible member price.

Steve Jobs: The Exclusive Biography UNABRIDGED By                                                     Walter Isaacson

Audible Member Price:$24.47 or 1 Credit
    Audible Sale Price:$19.58
On Apple's Australian site its currently $33.99
Sorry if i misunderstood, but when you started talking about Audible files I assumed ( obviously incorrectly) that they were Audible files purchased from Audible.
Audible existed before Apple had an Audio store and Audible has it's own format. In order to use Audible files purchased from Audible you need to Authorize iTunes to do so, under the advanced menu under Authorize Audible Account.
Your 4S i Assume has IOS 5 so i assumed it was the same issue i was having with my iPad 2 once i installed IOS 5. . . everything was working fine until i did
I will delete my reply if Apple will let me, because my answer has obviously upset you
I apologize for any inconvenience my post caused, i was only trying to help

  • FLV inserted to page no probs but plays too fast!

I've used the Insert Flash Video feature on dreamweaver 8 to
add a video clip to one of my family web pages
    www.nzgreens.me.uk/house
It has up loaded and plays, but is far too fast.
We've moved to New Zealand and it's for our family and
friends in the UK to view. Please please please can someone tell me
why it would be playing too fast?

I think you should give it ago, the Flash Encoder is straight

    from what I remember.

  • One of my audio books will not play.  My music plays.  And my other audio book plays.  When I try a listen "the singularity is near", It does nothing.  I try and move he cursor to the middle of the track and hit play, but it moves back to the beginning.

Audiobooks purchased from Audible.com.  They play on iTunes on my computer.  They have been playing on my iPod Classic until two days ago.  I'm in the middle of two books and now one does not keep track of where I am and the other does not play.  I also have other books not playing on the iPod that use to play.  They all play on iTunes on my computer.

  • Videos play too fast on ipad - sounds like super high speed mini mouse

We just bought the ipad and when we play videos on vimeo or youtube they play at an ultra high speed like the fps is messed up - it sounds like a record being played too fast
Is this our ipad or a setting - we are worried because we do not see the problem listed anywhere else.
    Thanks!

Have your rebooted/restarted your iPad? you do that by pressing the Home and power/sleep button at the same time until the slider to power off the iPad appears. Slide the slider and when screen activity stops depress the two buttons again until the Apple logo appears. When the iPad completes rebooting try again to see if that solved your problem.
