you obviously didnt read my post very well... Some of my MP3's didn't get converted at all durin the syc process, they just got transfered over as they are, as MP3's (wich is what i want)BUT... some of my files didn't get transfered directly, they got converted insted into WMA's (wich i didn't want)? What i'm trying to find out is, why did some get transfered and some get converted, all in one sync process ??And the reason for my extra posts is that my thread got lost three pages back, so i just bumped them up to get noticed by somone that might know the answer i seek.Message Edited by Darkmiss on 2-4-200706:55 PM

  • HT1473 can i use wmp to sync my ipod shuffle

can someone help me i need to know if i can use my wmp to sync my ipod shuffle

    No, you cannot.
Apple (who manufactured the Shuffle) also went to considerable trouble to create iTunes for that purpose. Why don't you want to use iTunes?

  • I can no longer sync my Zen 32Gb

I can no longer sync my Zen 32Gbb When I hook my Zen up to my computer, it recognizes a charge but the computer no longer sees the Zen. I have been using WMP to sync before (successfully). The SyncManager is also running and it to does not see the device. The Zen itself continues doing what it is doing although it shows the charging icon. I recall that it used to show a different screen when syncronizing. ?I am running Windows XP SP3. I am not sure when it stopped working as I haven't synced in several months. I have been charging it by a charger I bought from Creative. Could it have become confused by this?
The unit of course is 2 months out of warrentee but I did get the extended warrentee at Best Buy if necessary. I don't see any simular issues posted but I may have missed them. Feel free to direct me to those posts if they exist (and hopefully a solution).

    $Hi,
Try opening the device manager window and check if the player gets detected once you plug it in. If there is a question mark icon on the ZEN, right click on it and select un-install then disconnect-reconnect the player. Hope this hel
    ps.

  • Sync program other than iTunes

I just purchased an iPod touch. My children have cheap MP3 players. I do not want to manage multiple music libraries and playlists. Is there any other sync option for the touch? Can I add a plugin to WMP and sync a touch? Can I download and use another mp3 manager?

Can I download and use another mp3 manager?
    No.
You may be able to find something to add music, but nothing except iTunes can add Apps, sync your contacts, calendars, notes, email accounts, settings, perform backups, perform firmware updates, access the iTunes Store, access the AppStore, download videos, movies, games, manage your account, etc. etc.
Maybe just buy your children cheaper iPods and manage them all in iTunes?

  • My Zen MicroPhoto frequently stops synci

It will get through sometimes 5 songs, and sometimes it won't even get through one, but when WMP is syncing, it will slow down, then just freeze and stop.

Have you install these 2 hotfix before? If not, you give them a try.

  • Creative zen vision: m syncing problems-please he

if I use WMP to sync playlists to my vision:m, it will sync all the tracks in the playlist but not the playlist itself.
    what do I do?

i don't use media player to sync playlists. So i don't know if it will add the file again. Try it I can tell you that Wmp0 did add it again. that may be something that was fixed in WMP. If it adds a duplicate delete it just do a short one for testing. All my music is cds ripped as albums so i can use the creative media explorer to to playlists. i don't have individual lone tracks. The media explorer works perfect when your music library is organized when it isn't then i guess it would seem retarded.

  • Stop wmp11 from syncing ima

how do i stop WMP from syncing all my images as well as my music? i use media player because it syncs .WAV files with their album tags, but everytime i do it tries to sync all my images also. and there's well over a thousand just unwanted junk (often i find off the internet and save because i thought it was funny)
it actually gets on my nerves, i'm standing by to hit "stop sync" when all the musc is done

If iCloud is syncing between both devices, then you need to either change or turn off the iCloud account on the computer you don't want to sync it to.

  • How do I export My Windows XP's WMP's PLAYLIST to my Zen MX player?

    Hi,
I have PLAYLISTS in my Windows Media Player. I can transfer files to my Zen MX. However, I don't know How to export My Windows XP's WMP's PLAYLIST to my Zen MX player? Can anyone help me?

Thanks for your replies. It amazes me that there are people in this forum who would take time from their busy schedule to answer my questions. What do you guys do for a living?
What version of WMP are you using? If it is WMP got to sync tab >in the left-side colum click on playlists & right-click the playlist you want to sync to player & choose "add to sync list" then connect player & start sync.
That's exactly what I did. The mp3 files transferred from WMP to Zen's folders, but not the playlists. In fact, my Zen did not have a Playlist folder displayed in WMP. Can you tell me if yours does?
Also, can you tell me if it is better to use WMP to sync my Zen MX or is it better to use Creative's Centrale software?
Have you tried copying from you computer and paste directly to your zen?
Yes, but WMP creates *.wpl as playlist files while the zen creates *.mpu3. My Zen MX does not seem to recognize? *.wpl.

  • Windows Media Player 11 Locks Up Zen Vision:M - Possible

This may be of help to someone out there. My Problem:After installing WMP I could not browse my ZVM through Windows Explorer, Sync via WMP or Sync via Creative Sync. Basically everything was screwed up. My Fix:. Backup your entire collection of media (you may need another non-WMP machine to do this)?2. Update the player to the latest firmware, I used .6.0?(you may need another non-WMP machine to do this)?3. Boot the ZVM into Recovery Mode - Do not connect to the PC- "Format (All)" this will obviously delete all your files- "Clean Up"- "Reboot"?4. Reload default settings on ZVM?5. Now connect the player to your WMP machine, everything should be sweet! - No lockups!?6. Sync your media back on to the ZVM via WMP?My Theory:I have not formatted my ZVM since I bought it. I suspect that the older directory and file structure is incompatiable with what WMP expects from a MTP device or it may of got screwed up by me some how. The default folder/file structure on?a freshly formatted ZVM running FW.6.0 seems to be compatible with WMP. Hope this helps some of you guys out there, it worked for me.

Any chance of posting or PM'ing me your wmsetup.log file? So far I've seen one and that was a total install failure, so isn't the same problem you had.

Anyway, I solved the problem by uninstalling the USB ports from device manager.

  • Zen Touch is recognized, but

Here's the deal: a while ago, my parents gave me a laptop because I just graduated. This laptop has Win Vista. At first, I didn't have my own computer at all, so I used my dad's Win XP computer to transfer music to my Zen Touch. When I got this laptop, I decided to upgrade the firmware of my player, so I could use my own laptop for the music transfer. I backed up all my music (on my dad's computer) and updated the firmware (which worked perfectly - after 3 days of trying). First, I checked if it worked on my Vista laptop, which it did. I synced the player with WMP and transferred one album to the player. This all worked. Then I got back to my dad's computer, with my back-u
    ps.
I downloaded Creative Media Source 5 (I find this much handier then synchronizing with WMP, which also worked on the XP computer) with the plugin for the latest firmware and started to restore the music on my player. It worked fine. Untill I got halfway. The first half was perfectly transferred, but suddenly CMS wasn't responding anymore. I thought that this might be one-time thing, so I rebooted the computer and restarted CMS. CMS recognized the player, so I thought I was right. I continued on where I stopped last time, but again CMS wasn't responding. The first song I want to transfer rushes to 90%, but then the whole program gets stuck. But, this is not a real problem as we still have WMP to sync with the player. However, WMP suddenly wouldn't recognize my player anymore!! At first, WMP did for sure. Then I got to solution number 3. Put all the backed up music from my dad's computer that still hasn't been transferred on an external hd, and copy it to the Vista laptop. Sounds great, although WMP on the laptop also doesn't recognize the Zen anymore. After this, I retried it via CMS for at least a dozen times, but always the same. CMS recognizes the player, but always gets stuck when the song reaches 90%. I even tried to transfer the songs in a different order then before, but whatever I do, it keeps getting stuck. I preformed a disk clean on the player, I reinstalled CMS and the drivers on the computer, but nothing seems to work. The player itself works perfectly. I can listen to the songs that ARE on it, I can reload the battery, everything. Just not transferring, while I could do that before with the new firmware. And this is a shame, as my best albums are in the second half, so not yet on the player Anybody has an idea of how to solve this problem

Try re-booting ur comp lol. The same thing happened 2 mine but i kept disconnecting it and connecting again so it just froze, i had 2 run it down over night =/. Hope that helped =).

  • No cd drive after installing itunes

Hi,after installing itunes to my packard bell notebook i noticed that i had no cd drive showing in 'my computer'when trying to start my cd writer it showed 'no recorder'.i've had to uninstall itunes and download a update from roxio to get my cd writer back again.please can anyone help me with this problem.also is it possible to sync my ipod nano with windows media player without installing itunes.
    Regards,Tony

No you can't use WMP to sync your iPod.
You could take a look at Yamipod which allows you to manage your iPod without iTunes, but why not try and get iTunes working.

There is a help on trouble shooting CD problems here:

It sounds as though you want the link near the bottom on inability to use CDs.

  • Easy Way To Change The Original File Name??

I store all my music and videos on iTunes. I just got a AT&T Tilt and I have to use WMP to sync to it. I can't drag and drop iTunes playlists into my media card cause my Tilt uses Windows.
My main problem with WMP is even though I edit the song/video name, it still syncs over the original file name. If I change the original file name for WMP then I have to rename it for iTunes cause when I go back to iTunes to play the song/video, it says the file is missing. It's a pain
For example, in my iTunes music foler in My Music, I have a song file named Britney_Pieceofme.mp3. I edit the name of the song and artist to Britney Spears Piece Of Me but when I sync it to my phone, the original file name appears.
    Thanks!

I think you may need to "look" into the song to see what information is contained in the mp3 tag. WMP automatically sees that information and will store the song at the name in the tag. To solve your problem, you will need an mp3 tag editor (google search) where you can change the tags on your songs, then put them on your Tilt. I think/hope this solves your problem.

  • Downloading drivers and applicati

Hi, I have a Zen V Plus player, recently my computer was stolen and so was the installation CD for the player. Now I have a new laptop but I don't have the software por my Zen V Plus.
I have tried in the support page in creative.com but I can't see any driver, and as far as I now you should not plug the player to the computer without installing the driver previously.
Do you know where can I get the drivers?
I'm using WMP to sync with the player, so I don't need any additional software.
    Thank you

i lost my installation disc when i moved house and creative were not helpful at all so i used the u torrent sites and found the installation disc on there hope this is useful

  • Zen Not Displaying ANY Album Art via

Hello, I love my 8gb Zen and always use WMP to sync songs. Everything was fine untill a few weeks ago. I formatted my player via WMP then tried adding songs to it and none of them had album art after that WHY? So frustarting. I'v tried many times and still no art. When I use the Zen sync (offical creative software) it gives art but many mistakes and repeat album arts. Not good. I don't want to add individual album art via a program since it would take forever.
any help is greatly apprciated ?

This also happened to me. Though I did a sync over the weekend, to remove a few albums and add a couple of new ones, and some of the old albums were updated and they have album art but not all. I'm guessing it's something to do with WMP but I'm not sure, as long as the music plays fine I can li've without album art.
