Wmv :30 limit when compressing

First time compressing to WMV and even though the previewer and the inspector shows the complete full length, compressor only makes a 30 second movie. What am I overlooking?????
G5 Mac OS X (10.4.9) FCP-Compressor
G5   Mac OS X (10.4.9)   FCP-Compressor

You are using the free Flip4Mac plug-in to do the compression to WMV. The free version of the plug-in will only encode up to 30 seconds maximum, as a trial/demo.
In order to encode your entire asset, you must purchase a more full-featured version of the Flip4Mac plug-in.
Or, if you have access to a PC, you can download the Windows Media Encoder free from Microsoft and do it that way.
Good luck.

  • Is there a Maximum file size limit when combining pdf files

I am trying to combine files 8 PDF files created with i Explore using Acrobat XI Standard, the process is completed but when opening the file not all 8 individual files have been combined only the first two have been combined, the process shows all eight being read and combined.
I can open and view each of the original 8 individual files and read the content without any issue, the largest of the eight files is 15,559kb and the smallest is 9,435kb
if anyone can assist that would be most appreciated

    Hi Tayls450,
This should not have happened as there is no maximum file size limit when combining PDFs.
Please let me know if there are some password protected PDFs also?
Also, I would suggest you to choose 'Repair Acrobat Installation' option from the Help menu.
    Regards,

  • Is there a size limit when importing videos?

Is there a size limit when importing videos into iTunes (8)? I have a 4+ gig video file I'm trying to import, but when I drag/drop it into the movies, nothing happens. It works fine with smaller files.
    thanks
    Scott

ah I see something in other forums about a Windows size limit of 4 gigs, so I guess that answers it.
    thanks

  • Why is Compressor freezing when compressing?

    Hi,
I would really appreciate help with this problem.  Compressor has recently started freezing / getting stuck when compressing.  This happened a couple of years ago and was resolved by using Compressor Repair 1.1.3.  I've tried the Repair programme but, on this occasion, the problem is not solved.  I'm using Compressor 3.0.5 on a MacBook Pro OSX 10.5.8.  When Compressor froze today, I was compressing a 3GB QT movie using the H.264 codec.
I would appreciate any and all advice please.
    Many thanks,
    Fiona.

Describe in detail what happens when it freezes…whether the app crashes or whether the process hangs – or something else.
Try a short section of another movie with the same job settings to see whether it completes. (WHat is the codec of the QT movie you refer to in your initial post?)

  • Error when compressing domain file

This is probably a rare one, but I'll give it a shot anyway.
I just recently started getting an error message stating +"An error occurred adding "" to the archive"+ when compressing an iWeb domain file. Long story short, I pass this file back and forth with a business partner, and to help maintain its integrity, and to be able to upload it to and from iDisk, we compress it first.
    Here's a screenshot of the error... http://gallery.me.com/airrocker#100141/Picture-201&bgcolor=black
Logging out and back in will allow the file to be compressed with no issues.
    I'm running 10.5.8 and iWeb '09 v. 3.0.1. Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks.

  • -36 an I/O error when compressing MP4 files

I am using QT 7 Pro and attempting to compress MP4 files so as to load them on my iPhone without large file sizes. When compressing via export --> Movie to MPEG-4 --> MP4 --> MPEG-4 Basic it will get to 99% and then give me the below error:
    -36 and I/O error.
Please advise how to resolve this or perhaps a better way to compress MP4 files for use on the iPhone

I did examply same and getting same error anytime I tried to open a file. Did you get any response on the issue, that may help me?

  • 2 Hour Limit When Streaming

3 months ago, I posted about fact that new MBA was giving me about 2 hours of battery power when streaming, such as watching NetFlix. 88King suggested adding Flash 10.2 beta, and did so. He also pointed out that streaming with MS Silverlight was a power-hog. I now watch with Activity Monitor on, and working on wifi online capacity is excellent.
But basic problem persist when streaming. Tried to watch a 2nd film other night, but at about 2 hours, battery drained.
Is this just to limit when streaming?

You might consider trying to plug it in as much as possible when streaming. There are also external battery packs if stuck without an outlet. The air adapter works pretty well though for long flights.
I'm totally with you and your feelings on this

  • PL/SQL Limit When Dealing with a CLOB?

    Greetings,
I am constructing HTML into a CLOB in a PL/SQL routine which I later display in an APEX application. The HTML can get large, because I am constructing a grid over an image, and the grid can have a lot of columns and rows which means there can be a lot of <area shape="rect" HTML lines. I did a search and found that another person had the same problem, because there is a 32K limit with HTML contents. That was very helpful.
Thing is - I have another (maybe similar) issue. The procedure that constructs the HTML gets a numeric error when the number of cells in the grid reach a certain point. I checked and this happens when the CLOB in the procedure gets close to 32K. Sorry, it difficult to know exactly when it fails, but the most I have been able to put into the CLOB is 32,852 characters. Therefore my question - is there in internal limit in PL/SQL (or some other Oracle aspect) that is limited to 32K? The coluimn in the table that contains the HTML is a CLOB and the variable in the PL/SQL that the HTML is parsed into is a CLOB, so I thought I was good to go since the CLOB limit is 4GB. But, it looks like I may be missing something.
We are running Oracle 11i and APEX 4.0.2.00.07. If other system info is needed let me know and I will get that for you.
Also, if it helps. The code from the procedure is copied below. v_html is the variable that holds the HTML. The table column for the HTML is imagemap_html. Both v_html and imagemap_html are defined as CLOB's.
    Thanks, Tony

For "Application Express 4.2.1.00.08" i created such good solution.
I downloaded freeware plugin "Enkitec Clob Load Plug-in Version: 1.0.0 - APEX Version: 4.2.0" from there:
    http://www.enkitec.com/products/plugins/clob-load/help
Then i followed plugin installation steps and created a APEX page where i added an item of type "Rich Text Editor".
I found the plugin crashes when my database CLOB field is empty, also crashed when i tried to save down empty value to database.
I changed Plugin code a little, and now everything works as needed, i can save down larga data, and also empty data.
    1. In Apex open plugin "Enkitec CLOB Load".
    2. Navigate to "Source-->PL/SQL Code" where is text area with plugin source code.
    3. there you have such code:

  • SWC PNG's invisible when compression is set to JPEG in Flash Builder 4.7/AIR 3.4

Moved my ActionScript Mobile Project game from Flash Builder 4.6 / AIR 3.2 yesterday to the new release of 4.7 / AIR 3.4. One side effect was that when my PNG's in my assets SWC were set to use JPEG compression instead of PNG, they are invisible at runtime. I haven't found any mention of this when searching so far. I can just use PNG compression for now, but it's nice to have the choice. Anyone else run into this problem?

I haven't seen this come up, however you might want to give our latest AIR 3.5 build a try (12/11/2012 - AIR 3.5 Runtime and SDK Update).  If it still occurs, could you please open a new bug report on this over at bugbase.adobe.com?  Please post back with the URL so that others affected can add their comments and votes.

  • Is there a page size limit when exporting a pdf from InDesign?

My indd file is 201x40 inches with a 1.5 inch slug. When I export to pdf I get this message, "The document page size exceeds the page size range supported in PDF files. Exported pages will be resized to fit within PDF limits."

Although the PDF spec mentions that it's feasible to create a PDF as large as 15,000,000 inches in either direction, 200 x 200 inches is Distiller’s limit for PostScript. It’s based on the Windows printer driver limitation.
If I read the quote below correctly, the maximum page size is 15 million inches (381 km).
"This is from the PDF Reference 1.6:
    177. In PDF versions earlier than PDF 1.6, the size of the default user space unit is fixed at 172 inch. In Acrobat viewers earlier than version 4.0, the minimum allowed page size is 72 by 72 units in default user space (1 by 1 inch); the maximum is 3240 by 3240 units (45 by 45 inches). In Acrobat versions 5.0 and later, the minimum allowed page size is 3 by 3 units (approximately 0.04 by 0.04 inch); the maximum is 14,400 by 14,400 units (200 by 200 inches).
Beginning with PDF 1.6, the size of the default user space unit may be set with the UserUnit entry of the page dictionary. Acrobat 7.0 supports a maximum UserUnit value of 75,000, which gives a maximum page dimension of 15,000,000 inches (14,400 * 75,000 * 172). The minimum UserUnit value is 1.0 (the default)."

  • 4:3 DVD footage in 16:9 canvas choppy when compressed played back on plasma

I have a small 9 min job where I'm using a VOB file from a DVD (4:3) and placing it in a 16:9 canvas with pillars on either side. Built in FCP, output in Compressor, and burned to disc in DVD Pro. After following the usual steps I take when working with this type of source footage, the image on the plasma 16:9 came out really choppy during camera pans. Tried compressing it at Best VBR, Deinterlace, and so on, but it only seems to be getting worse. Any suggestions? Am I missing something? Is the problem in FCP, Compressor, or possibly (though I doubt it) DVD Pro? Please give detailed suggestions from pixel dimension to bit rates, etc. if you can. Thanks.

It sounds like you've set FCE a widescreen or anamorphic and put 4:3 material in it. Check item properties for the clip and then set easy setup to match that. Then make a new sequence and edit into it. The audio will still need to be rendered because it's the wrong format.

  • How Do I Change Default Chapter Numbers When Compressing for iPad?

Basically, I'd like to export a program from a FCP 7 timeline with included chapter and compression markers and compress it using Compressor 3.5 or 4.  The program is intended for distribution via iPad and I'd like to include medical disclaimers and a production company logo prior to the start of the program.  The problem is that the chapter numbering seems to default to 1, 2, 3, etc. which makes the program's beginning read as Chapter 2.  Is there any way to reset the default first chapter marker to Chapter 0 or similar?  Or is there a way to do away with the automatic chapter numbering?

I understand that the markers can be named in the timeline.  The problem I'm having is that, once the file is encoded and moved onto the iPad, the chapter names gain an additional number.  So in my case there is a marker at the beginning of the sequence that I've named Medical Disclaimers and another at the beginning of the program that I've named Program Start and a third marker that I've named Chapter 1.
When the chapters display on the iPad it reads something like this:
    Chapter 1
    Medical Disclaimers
    Chapter 2
    Program Start
    Chapter 3
    Chapter 1
You see my problem?  Chapter 3 / Chapter 1 doesn't really work. I can name the chapters anything I want in FCP, but as soon as they're loaded on the iPad they get a shiny new chapter number attached to them no matter what I do with the markers in FCP.  I can of course rename Chapter 1 so that it's not so obvious, but I'd still like the program to start at Chapter 1 rather than Chapter 2 (or, if possible, have no automatic chapter number generation at all).

  • Pdf's: Blurry when compressed

When I make a pdf (usually using Preview), it makes a large
file size. (For example, if it's 5 document pages, it might be 3MB; if it's
5 photos, it might be 20MB.) When I use the Quartz
Filter to compress the pdf, the result is too blurry
to read the documents without significant effort...or significantly
blurry photos. Often I am sending to people with free, small
mailboxes, and large files create a problem for them. What is the
    answer to this? Thank you!!
    - Robert

    Hi Robert Arnold5;
Any time you are too aggressive with compression you risk loose of detail. If you are not able to get the size reduction you require without losing detail, you are going to have to find some other method to send the files that will accept larger file such as placing the files on a web server. Then emailing the user the location where the file is. This method will usually allow for the transfer of much larger files.

  • White Balance Tint Limit When Processing Raw Files

Hi guys, following some recent suggestions I've got hold of some Welding glass to use as an ND filter on my Fuji HS20. It arrived today and works a treat.
I do however now have a new issue that this has caused.  I've set a custom white balance on the camera to counter act the tint from the glass. This now produces the correct colour on my jpg photo's however the RAW files have the wrong colour tint.
When I open them in photoshop elements 11 I get the CAMERA RAW application. The white balance is set to 'AS SHOT' however the Tint is at +150. I'm guessing my problem is that the tint needs to be more than +150 and CAMERA RAW is limiting it.
Does this mean I am now limited to using JPG's when I use this glass as an ND filter, or is there a way I can get rid of this limit to the tint on the white balance

    filippodallosso wrote:
I have exactly the same problem. The reply is to your question is not what you were asking, isnt it?
The point is that we CAN NOT adjust the white balance as suggested, because the sliders are already at their maximum value when we open the photo in camera raw. We'd need to further increase the tint value (as the photo looks green) but it is by default at 150, so we cannot increase it further.
One way to overcome the limitation of the tint/temp sliders is to save an intermediate tiff or psd file. You can open it in ACR and apply the same maximal slider correction.
For the same purpose, instead of saving an intermediate file, I opened the raw file in the editor. From there, I used the Editinacr script in Elements+ to reopen the layer in ACR (shift f3 and script selection). Same corrections and back as a new layer in the editor. I could repeat the process several times to get a very powerful correction without intermediate files.

  • Does Siri have a character limit when composing emails?

    Hello,
I have been trying to use Siri to get some emails done while I'm driving. I can start the email okay, I can get the "Subject" just fine, and I can get into the body of the message just fine. However, as I start dictating the body of my email, Siri will interrupt me in the middle of speaking and ask me if I am ready to send it. This will happen when I am mid-sentence---literally.
I'm wondering----is this because I have reached some sort of character limit that I'm not aware of, and once that limit is reached you can't do anything except send it? I say "period" and "comma" as I'm speaking, but there is no long pause to make Siri think I'm done speaking. I am speaking the entire time, and Siri interrupts me mid-sentence and mid-word right in the middle of me speaking.
Any idea what's going on? Thanks!

The limits are the same-hardware and software-and refer to the ability to address the memory.
If you have a 32bit operating system, it's limited by the same 4GB limit (2^32=4,294,967,296).
If you have a 64bit operating system (such as OS X Tiger) running on a 64bit computer, it's theoretically limited to about 17 Billion GB.
So, with Tiger, you're not likely to run into a memory limit anytime soon.
