Wndows server 2003 r2 forget adminstartion

we are using windows server 2003 r2 edition , and now we are forgetting our adminstration password ,
plz guide me how to crack our adminstration password.

Hi,
Sorry for the delay reply.
If your win 2003 server is domain joined, you can logon with any domain admin account, access local user and computers and resetting the local administrator password.
The official statement from Microsoft is you have to reinstall. Other tools may/will work but this is without support from Microsoft.

• UPD driver (PCL6) for Windows 7 x64 client machines installed on a Server 2003 x32 server.

Hi,
We have CP1515 LaserJet printers run over TCP/IP from our Servers which run Server 2003 (32 bit).
We have recently bought some new PCs running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit edition.
How do I get the Win 7 x64 machines to use the printers served via the Server 2003 x32 machine ?
All my attempts to install the software (pcl6-x??-5.3.1.10527) on either the Server2003 or Win 7 x64 machine fails.
The EXE (pcl6-x64-5.3.1.10527) file won't run on Server2003 - I'm guessing because it expects an x64 operating system.
The EXE (pcl6-x32-5.3.1.10527) file runs on Server2003, but doesn't seem to do anything - I'm guessing because there is already an x32 driver.
When I use the ‘Additional Drivers’ option in the printer properties to an x64 driver, none of the supplied .INF files inside the expanded EXE are considered suitable.
The EXE (pcl6-x64-5.3.1.10527) runs on Win7 x64 machine, but when I select the existing printer on Server2003, it says it can't find the driver - which is ridiculous as I'm installing the driver!
I can get the EXE pcl6-x64-5.3.1.10527 to complete on the Win 7 machine if specifying a completely new printer queue (by supplying the IP address).  However not only is this not satisfactory as it bypasses the required security and defaults on the server queue, but also it frustratingly then 'forgets' it had a perfectly good driver when I try and subsequently add the server printer queue.
I’ve run out of ideas.  Can anyone help ?
Thanks,
         Stuart Poore

Hi
I had this trobule too.  Below is the instructions to install driver.  Disconnect your printer. In printers select add printer.  Then click windows update (need internet) allow them to update and then select 1220c printer to install leaving as standard old port.  Once installed go into printer properites and update to USB port.
Bingo it works!
Refer to the below link for full instructions.

• Windows 7 / Server 2003 Roaming profile synchronization error at logoff (ntuser.pol)

Hi all,
I have implemented Roaming Profiles for a few test users on Windows 7 PC's (Windows Server 2003) and everything is working well aside from one error I'm seeing at logoff ('Your roaming user profile was not completely synchronized.  See the event log
for details or contact your administrator.')
The event log reveals event ID's 1504 and 1509.  1504 is flagging the fact that Windows cannot update the roaming profile completely.  1509 shows the following:
'Windows cannot copy file C:\Users\jtest\ntuser.pol to location \\server\Profiles$\jtest.V2\ntuser.pol.  This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.
DETAIL - Cannot create a file when that file already exists.
Other observations:
This issue occurs with all test users upon each logoff attempt except for the very first logoff, where there is no network share copy of ntuser.pol to get in the way.
Prior to logoff, the network share copy of ntuser.pol has an older timestamp than the local copy.  This is not a cause or symptom but it leads me to believe updating the network copy of the file at logoff is normal/required behavior.
If I delete the network share copy of ntuser.pol prior to logoff the error does not occur.  I don't suspect file permissions are the cause since I used the same user having difficulty logging off to delete the network share copy of the file.
ntuser.dat has no problem overwriting itself upon logoff.
I was able to repeat the problem with two windows 7 clients.
I've been all over the usual suspects (i.e. group policies affecting roaming profiles, file/folder permissions, installed every hotfix relating to roaming profiles and folder redirection, and googled every keyword) and came up empty.  I confirmed offline
caching for the profile share is disabled.
Does anyone know what may be going on here?  I'd greatly appreciate a point in the right direction.  Thanks in advance.

You could too run a process monitor to watch what happen. With filter you can easilly configure it on the server to not log everything except read|write on the profile.

• Server 2003 R2 DC migration to 2008 R2 worked? but exchange 2007 has stopped

Hi everyone,
This is a single DC running on Server 2003 R2 which I migrated to a fresh install of Server 2008 R2. This appears to have worked without issue. DNS is working dcdiag and netdiag didn't report problems.
When I demote the 2003 server however Exchange 2007 stops working. It appears that it is still looking to talk to the 2003 server based on this
EVENT ID: 2012 All DC Servers in use are not responding DC.mydomain.com
Can anyone help fix this issue pls. I cant find where Exchange has stored the old domain name.
TYIA

TY both for taking the time to reply.
I have gotten to the problem. The fact you both pointed me to event 2080 was instrumental in guiding me down the right path. Once I read this MS article I could see the new DC was missing
the SACL rights. This was a tad frustrating as I had previously checked that Manage auditing and security log was correctly configured in the Default Domain Controllers Policy, was applied to Domain
computers and the new server was in the correct container.
However when your up to your ass in a croc filled swamp you sometimes forget the odd thing; I didn't run RSOP, if I had at the time, I would have never have had to post for help. Yes you guessed it the policy wasn't enabled!! A quick enable and gpupdate
/force and all was well.
Still, always the optimist, I learned about event 2080, and uncovered and fixed problems with the clients servers where they had ghost nics....
Just to clarify in case others read this post.
This wan't SBS
It was a single DC domain running on server 2003 R2 x64
Exchange 2007 running on a seperate server 2003 R2 x64.
The domain name didn't change. What I meant was the new DC had a different name
the New DC is a fresh install of server 2008 R2,  IPv6 is enabled
The old DC had adprep /forestprep then adprep /domainprep run on it
The 5 fsmo roles were moved from the old DC to the 2008 DC
Just need to move DHCP and other bits n pieces and job done :)
Thanks for the help

• Windows CAL server 2003 and Domain Server with a 2008 server as domain member

We have a Windows Server 2003 as domain controller with 70 user CALs, and we have added a Windows 2008 R2 OEM with 5 users licences.
I have no plans to migrate my domain controller 2003 to 2008 but the 2008 is a member of the domain and I need to know if we are fine with the licences.
Thanks for your help,
Alejandro Sueldo

Hi
You need CAL for anything that would access the 2008. If a server that is accessed by only 5 user you are ok, but if like a Exchange for your 70 users, then you have to buy more CAL. (that link explain it good;
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/mssmallbiz/archive/2007/11/06/5942350.aspx)

• I am trying to remote into a Windows Server 2003 from a Windows 7 machine and having issues

I am trying to remote into a Windows Server 2003 from a Windows 7 machine.  It says "The terminal server has exceeded the maximum number of allowed connections".
My first stop in trying to solve this problem was here:
howtogeek.com
And it says:

This problem happens because Windows only allows two remote terminal services connections when you are in administrative mode, and you’ve either got two people already on that server, or more likely, you’ve got a disconnected session that still thinks
it is active.
The problem with this error is that you have to actually get on the server console to fix the problem if the server isn’t in a domain. (If you are in a domain, then just open Terminal Services Manager and log off or disconnect the sessions)

So it seems to suggest that all I have to do really is to run the  Terminal Services Manager but I cannot find it.
This web site from mssqltips.com (click here) says all I need to do is first execute "mstsc /
admin" from the command line.  But, when I do that, I get a message when I try to remote to the server, that says this: "To log on to this remote console session, you must have administrative permissions on this computer".
So, what now?  What do you suggest?

Hi Bobby,
Yes, it is by design. By default, Windows Server only accepts two concurrent administrative sessions (Administrative Mode). It means that only two administrators can work on the server at
the same time.
If you would like more concurrent sessions, you need to purchase RDS CALs, install Terminal Services related server roles with proper configurations on the server.

• Windows 7 x64 can't read/install any printer drivers from Windows Server 2003 x64 (AMD64 folder and HP Deskjet 855c)

I read the thread Widows 7 printer
HP deskjet 855c driver about possible installation of HP855c drivers onto Windows 7 x64 from "Windows Server 2003 x64" CD but I didn't have enough luck to succeed with doing it on my laptop. That thread appears to be dead now
as it is marked "Answered", so I'm asking for help here. I have Toshiba Satellite P500 with Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit (http://i55.tinypic.com/2zgth6v.jpg).
Let me tell you first that I don't have access to Windows Server 2003 x64 or XP Pro 64 CD's. However I did some research online, which eventually forced me to learn about the "file sharing". After extensive search I was able to get the copies
of AMD64 folders from Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 with SP2 and
XP Pro 64. The reason that I went also after XP Pro was because I thought that the extra wording "R2 Standard x64 with SP2" in description of "Windows Server 2003" did not reflect the exact name provided by poster
Alan. I couldn't find just "Windows Server 2003 x64" (does it matter?).
Anyway, I followed first the drill with running "printui /s /t2" and disabling UAC, and then in both cases I was able to locate the
NTPRINT.INF file (http://oi51.tinypic.com/9qwvt2.jpg - this image is from XP Pro AMD64 folder) but each time when I
attempted to install the driver, I got the same message stating:
"The folder you specified doesn't contain a compatible software drive for your device. If the folder contains the driver, make sure it's designed to work with Windows for x64-based systems." (http://oi53.tinypic.com/27yveiw.jpg)
Why aren't there x64 drivers?
During several installation attempts I had the printer connected to or disconnected from my laptop. It didn't make any difference. I must add that for this purpose I had to use different cable than the original one designated only for the
Parallel port in my old desktop with Windows XP. My new laptop with Windows 7 x64 came only with 3 USB ports (plus 1 HDMI and 1 Serial). Because of that situation I bought in advance a new printer cable called “USB to 36-pin Parallel Port Adapter
Cable” (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003A8I75E). I'm not sure, if it will work until I can install the printer.
Besides, nobody talked about this issue yet. I was also playing with the port choices in "Add printer" step; changing from default LPT1 to USB001 with the same negative results.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I was very hopeful after reading positive "case closed" notes there.
Can anyone help me here, maybe by making the necessary files available for download? I'm willing to pay for such assistance or make a donation, if necessary. Seriously. Judging by the large number of views of the original
thread, one could assume that there is a potential demand for such service. It would be more human to pay few bucks for a few driver files than $900 for the whole Windows Server 2003 x64 CD, no? Can Microsoft accomodate me/us, please? :)
Andrew*
P.S. I was advised to come for help here from
http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/windows-7-x64-cant-readinstall-any-printer-drivers/4e7d06e1-33a5-4597-be70-4fdc087a63a7?msgId=9a045994-0d31-4d40-b17d-dba372393ee4

I have my HP 855c/driver working on Win 7 Ultimate x64. I used the 'printui /s' procedure and 4 files described above with some minor changes.
I pulled WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB914961-SP2-x64-ENU.exe down from the Microsoft website. Running the file causes the exe to unpack into a temp folder at the root drive. A 'Setup Error' message box is displayed once the file is run. I left this
message box up until I copied ntprint.inf, ntprint.cat, and sp2.cab from the temp folder.
I copied driver.cab from a Windows XP Pro disc. I also needed amd64\stdnames.gpd which was already in my Windows 7 c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\x64\3 folder.
I created a folder with the 5 files (ntprint.inf, ntprint.cat, sp2.cab, driver.cab, and amd64\stdnames.gpd). This is my 'Have Disc' folder.
I followed the 'printui /s' instructions, first changing the permissions mentioned above and then installing the driver. Next I followed the instructions to add a printer from Control Panel 'Devices and Printers' - 'Add Printer', choosing to 'use an existing
driver' when installing the HP 855c.
I used a slightly different ntprint.inf, size 1570418. The readable contents of ntprint.inf is as follows. Notice the line 'CatalogFile=ntprint.cat' is not included. I tried using the 1570468 version of ntprint.inf; when I did I received an incompatibility
message (probably the same one mentioned above).

Hi,
EDGE/Crystal Reports Server and Enterprise are no native 64bit applications. That does mean that they only run in 32bit mode. But you can install it on a 64bit hardware with a 64bit OS.

• Add-on installation problem in Windows Server 2003

Hi guys,
I have a problem when i want to install my add-on in the Windows Server 2003. The server gives me error :
Unable to load AddOnInstallAPI.dll
and when i try install using the same installer at the client station, everything is ok.
Does anybody have suggestion about that problem? I suspect the problem is the Windows' security that did not allowed me to load the .dll. Does anybody know how to set the security?
Thanks you,
Harianto Ng

I've found an answer on the similar question here, on the forum, saying that Windows 2003 is not a supported SAPBO Client OS.
In my experience I could not even set a reference to SAPbouicom.exe with a message "cannot load DLL"...

• Windows 7 pro client cannot access folders on server 2003 domain server

I added a windows 7 64 bit client to a server 2003 32 bit domain 3 weeks ago and file sharing was working fine until today, 5/4/12. Now, when trying to access shared folders that reside on the server,
I get the following "access denied" message:
[…folder…] is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
The user name could not be found.
Strangely enough...
The windows 7 client
can open shared folders that reside on the XP clients in the domain
All the XP clients in the domain can access the server 2003 folders
All the XP clients and the server 2003 machine can access shared folders and printers on the windows 7 client.
The windows 7 client can ping the server 2003 machine and vice versa
I can “see” the server in my network list, but when I click on it, I get the same “access denied” message listed above.
So... the only problem is that the windows 7 client cannot access folders that reside on the windows server 2003 machine. There must be some sharing setting that got changed
by a recent windows update.
Here is what I have done/verified so far on the windows 7 client:
In advanced sharing settings for Home/Work, Public and Domain profiles:
network discovery is enabled
file and print sharing is enabled
use user accounts and passwords to connect to other computers is selected (I also tried allowing windows to manage homegroup connections instead, but the problem remained.)
40 -56 bit encryption is enabled
In “gpedit.msc” Local Policies/Security Settings:
enabled the following policies:
Network access: Allow anonymous SID/name translation
Network access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users
disabled the following policies:
Network access: Restrict anonymous access to Named Pipes and Shares
Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts
Network access: Do not allow anonymous enumeration of SAM accounts and shares
What am I missing? Are there policies on the server that need to be adjusted?
Please help! My business is crippled if I cannot access server files from this workstation. Thank you in advance.

• HP Cloud Print Driver for Windows Server 2003?

Hello,
I have a unique (complicated) situation that I am trying to find a solution for.
Here is the deal,
My company is trying to set up a temporary remote branch location inside a building where we are unable to wire a network. Our solution is to use a wireless hotspot. Connected to this hotspot, we will have an iPad and an HP Laserjet M525.
The iPad will be connecting to our Citrix environment over VPN through Citrix Receiver to deliver a desktop interface to the iPad. This is needed to access a few applications that are used at the branch.
The problem now is printing, AirPrint wont work because the iPad is on VPN (and its at a windows interface, not the iPad's).
I had the idea of using the HP printers built in ePrint function to print, so I set that up. So now sending at email to [email protected] prints to the HP printer attached to the wireless hotspot.
Emaling to print works, but ideally, I would like this printer to show up in the Windows Devices and Printers, so that the user can just click print, choose the HP printer, and it will print, (with a delay obviously as its sending an email).
So I downloaded the HP ePrint Windows Driver, which has to be installed on the main Citrix servers so that the users session can grab the printer and use it, turns out the driver doesnt work on Windows Server 2003.
My first attempt at a workaround was Google Cloud Print, which was fairly simple to connect to HP ePrint, but apparently the Google Cloud Print Driver doesnt work on Windows Server 2003 either.
Is there a version of the HP ePrint Driver out there that works on Windows Server 2003?
tldr:
I would like to print to a remote HP printer that is connected to a wifi hotspot from our internal network. I need whatever software I download to be compatible with Server 2003.
I understand this is over complicated but thanks for any input.

I believe I understand your issue.  You would like to use a print driver to print to your HP ePrint enabled printer from your apps that are hosted by Citrix server.  While I believe this makes perfect sense, HP does not have a print driver that officially supports MS TS or Citrix that also supports the ePrint Cloud path.  The reason for this is the ePrint windows driver is a "dynamic" print driver (similar to HP UPD dynamic mode) that handles multiple print paths (tcp/ip, wireless direct, cloud, etc) in a single driver instance by dynamically changing the port the print queue is bound to so the port is specific to the delivery path.  For example, if printing to a network printer it will use a MS Standard tcp/ip port.  If printing to the ePrint cloud a custom port is used, etc.  Well, if you have lots of Citrix users trying to print to a single print queue, but to different destinations, the users would be colliding with each other when they print by having the driver trying to change the print queue to different print ports at the same time.
What you could do is install an ePrint print queue on the citrix server if you can control the access to that queue to just your local branch users.  Also, if you only have on ePrint enabled printer the situation is even better as only one port will be needed by that queue.  You can find the ePrint software at www.hp.com/go/eprintsoftware   You might want to download the version of the driver that supports XP as Windows 2003 is very similar print system.
NOTE:  this is not a supported environment for this driver.  You would be using it without warrenty or support and no promises are being made here.
Good luck if you choose this path and please post back the results.  Thanks!

• Server 2003 VPN clients can't verify username and password

Hi,
Hoping someone can help or point me in the right direction. I have a Windows Server 2003 R2 standard SP2 running RRAS. It has Dual NIC's and is configured for PPTP VPN. I am using a BT Business Hub 5 for internet access and using the BT Static IP service.
The BT Hub assigns the static IP address chosen to the Server using DHCP. The firewall is configured to port forward PPTP traffic to the 2003 server. This all works correctly.
The 2003 server is on a domain where the DC is a 2008 R2 server. The DC also acts as the DNS and DHCP for the network.
The default gateway for the domain is pointed towards our WinGate proxy server which also acts as a DNS server.
The 2003 server LAN NIC is configured manually, usually I would not configure a deafult gateway on the LAN NIC as the WAN NIC needs the default gateway for the BT Hub.
The problem I am having is if a default gateway is configured on the LAN NIC, I can connect to the VPN and it will logon to the network. Once connected everything works ok. If the connection drops, when trying to reconnect the client can no longer verify
the user name and password against the domain and the connection is refused.
If I do not have a default gateway configured in the LAN NIC the VPN clients can not verify the username and password for the domain at all and I get RPC failure errors in the event viewer with the source dnsapi.
Once this error occurs the only way I can get the clients to reconnect is to disable the WAN NIC, restart the RRAS service and enable the WAN NIC again.
Any insight will be much appreciated.
