Wny does ACR 7.3 open a .JPG with different dimensions than PS 13.0.1 x64?

I have a .jpg file that opens in Photoshop 13.0.1 x64 as an image with dimensions of 5588 x 4627 pixels. If I set Photoshop to open it in ACR 7.3 it opens with dimensions 4453 x 4418 with the image looking squished horizontally and cropped at the top.
I captured the image on a Nikon D600. I developed the NEF with DxO Optics Pro 8.1.1 and output a TIFF. I opened the TIFF in Photoshop (without using ACR) and did my editing including some transformation to create mirrored wrap for a canvas. There are versions saved as PSDs. I resized the image for output and used PS to create a JPG. That JPG causes the strange (to me) behavior when Photoshop tries to open the file.
I used the same PSD to create multiple JPGs with differing levels of quality (varyiing from 9MB to 27MB). Photoshop exhibits the same behavior on all of them.
If I process the JPG thruough ACR, the resultant image retains the bad dimensions and distortions.
The Adobe "chat" preresentative said this was expected behavior in a 2+ hour chat. He/she said that they were able to replicate the different dimensions on their end with their images.
Does anyone know if this is normal behavior? If so, why?

I am running this on Win7 x64 Home Premium with 8 GB RAM. I also have LR 4.3 installed on the computer and previously used it to process the same NEF file.

I sent the JPG to a service for a print on canvas. They reported that the image was not the proper size and shape when they opened it in Photoshop. Unfortunately I have not been able to get them to tell me what pixel size it was, just rough inches (!?!?!). So I started trying things in Photoshop and came up with this strange behavior that might explain the problem at the service.

Do you actually have Premiere Elements 11 Windows at this time? And, have you used any prior version of the program? I ask so that I van gauge how deeply to go into different aspects of the program. So, please excuse if I generalize now on matters that you already are aware of.
Premiere Elements is a video editor that will support the use of your own stills and video and music on its Timeline tracks to export to file or
burn to disc.
The Instant Movie can be broken apart once created. And,that Instant Movie feature is editable, leaving components that you want, adding others, and removing others, and you can include your own music in it.
But if you prefer to start from the beginning you can import your photos and music and then add your own assets to the tracks..title templates, backgrounds, etc probably along the line of what one of those Instant Movies would be aimed at. But, I do not see a choice for selecting a particular theme for the slideshow other than that. However, there is an opportunity to select a theme for the disc menus if the export is a burn to disc or part of the webDVD feature.
Did you have in mind, something like placing a theme based background on Video 1 and then on upper tracks directly above scaling your photos so that the background can be seen around them?

Why to open Block only with Dense dimension Member ???

I want to understand the logic behind opening the block with dense member. Generally we open the block with member of dense dimension by fixing the sparse members
e.g. below considering C1, P1,Working,Actual are members of sparse dimension customer, product, Version, Scenario.

Now if i change the code as below making Jan in FIX and opening the block with Actual. How it will affect the performance. The Number of iterations in total number of datacells will be same in bothe cases above and below then why to give priority to dense dimension member for opening the block.

I know the logic behind keeping sparse dimension member in FIX but here i think keeping 'Actual' member for opening the block is also a type of fix which will tell the code to do the calculation only for blocks of 'Actual'.
In 1st case i have fixed the number of blocks containing members C1,P1,Working,Actual and by keeping Jan for opening block means Jan is also fixed for the particular application means code will not run for feb march etc.
Means code will run for C1->P1->Working>Actual->Jan
In 2nd case also i have fixed C1,P1,Working,Jan and by keeping Actual for opening block means Actual is also fixed for the particular application means code will not run for other members of Scenarion dimension.
Means code will run for C1->P1->Working>Jan->Actual
Then what is the difference??? Why it will effect performance???

when using an IF statement in a calc script you have to specify a member to associate it with for the calc member block. This is like temporarily assigning it to that member as a formula in the outline. In most cases calculations on dense dimensions can work faster as the block is in memory. Remember that a block statement can have multiple calculation statements in it. When this occurs, having the calculations on a dense member can speed it up as it may not have to swap blocks to do the calculation.
Also consider that if a sparse combination of members does not exist, the block will not exist and there will be no attempt to do the calculations. If a sparse member is on the calc member block, it will cycle through all of the sparse members looking to do the calculation.

Unfortunately, LabVIEW keeps track of the different VIs in memory using the VI's name. Therefore, if you want to load multiple executables that use the same VIs but with different code, you will want to rename those VIs. LabVIEW cannot distinguish between 2 VIs with the same name but with different code. Dynamically calling the VIs using VI Server, like you mentioned, will also potentially cause problems because the executables might try to load same VI name into LabVIEW memory at a time and this will still causes problems.
My suggestion would therefore to be to rename the utility VIs to another name and save it as a custom subVI in that program. Then, make sure to include that custom subVI in the App Builder executable and you should b
e golden.

Exporting different images to jpg (with different names)

Dear Scripters,
I KNOW I can script all this, but I need your help to find my way home…
I have a doc made of 15 pages, each of these contains three or four instances of the same image, in different dimensions (iPhone, iPad, Android, Web, etc.).
I prepared the pages assigning a different ScriptLabel to each instance, like:
Page 1
p1_HW
p1_HMT
p1_HNMT
p1_lightbox
Page 2
p2_HW
p2_HMT
p2_HNMT
p2_lightbox
and so on.
I'd like to export automatically each instance as a jpg, naming it by its ScriptLabel.
BTW, is it possible to filter processing of the instances depending on what's AFTER the first underscore of the ScriptLabel?
Just, if you can, give me some rough directions on what's the best way to approach the script, then I'll try to figure out myself…

Moreover, the two monitors can have completely different characteristics. As always, you really need to calibrate/profile any monitor (with a hardware tool - Spyder, Colormunki etc). That's no more important with two monitors, but you see for sure if you don't, as two dissimilar monitors will then probably look different.

Why does FF 21 not open a site with a given domain name in Amazon-it will open img from that domain and will work if we provide a new domain name to same kit

We host a site on Amazon Ec2.
FIrefox will not load the page - it just times out after loading half the images etc on it
If we take the same site and give it the Machine Name the Amazon server on which the site resides, it will work.
If we give the Amazon server a domain name, it will work.
If we try to load a part of the page, like an image with the original (i.e. not working domain name) it will work.
Any ideas of possible causes?

Did you recently reinstall the OS then copy all your files back over? Do a Get info on one of the documents and see if your current UserName is listed and has Read & Write permissions. If not select the Documents folder and check that for Read & Write permissions for your UserName. If it doesn't have R & W permissions Add it so it does.

Why does it cost more to use Verizon with a contract than without?

I have been being charged outlandish overage charges. 47 cents per minute is totally rediculous. I have also been being charged oveage for internet usage. I was not notified. For some reason, my email address was not updated even though I have called them a number of times in the past year. I used to get messages on my phone that told me when I was coming close to my quota. Now they only do it as a text message. Guess what, not all of us text! I had blocked my phone from text messages when I got it. Anyhow, my last two months bills have been outlandish because of overages. I can get a non contracted service for $45.00 a month that includes unlimited cell phone calls, messages and Internet. I do have to buy a phone, but even with purchasing the phone and prepaing for an entire year, it is less than the total of the last two phone bills from Verizon. Does it make any sense to even have a contract?
I have talked to two different verizon reps on the phone about this. One told me it would cost $70 per unit to break the contract. A month later, a rep said it would be $85 per unit to cancel the contract. This does not make sense as you would think the closer you were to the renewal date, the less it would cost to cancel. I am not cancelling at this time, as I will be better off to just let the contract expire, call them and tell them not to renew the contract and go from there. I think it is terrible to charge more for a contract than for a non-contract. Doesn't customer loyalty mean anything to this company?

I can understand your frustration when you are suddenly aware of this huge bill after Verizon (it sounds like) from your perspective changes it's practices and is no longer notifying you the way they had been and didn't make you aware of it that you know of. We have all had the experience of feeling totally frustrated with a situation even when we recognise the part we play in the responsibility. I don't think taunting and making wise cracks with no constructive suggestions is called for. I seriously doubt any of us is perfect or hasn't had a similar feeling of frustration. That said I have no doubt you wish you had kept closer track in one of the ways so unconstructively suggested here. You might think about checking into upping your plan during the months you will be going over (it sounds like this is a more recent problem so something has changed) so your overages aren't so high. You can change your plan minutes and data anytime during the billing cycle and can even have it include the overages you have already incurred as long as the billing cycle is still open. That way you might pay an extra $10 or $20 (guess) for a bigger plan rather than more in overages. Verizon usually has this pretty well figured out so that having a contract is more cost effective than not unless you rarely use your phone and it doesn't sound like that's the case. As far as the cost of breaking the contract it has always been my understanding that you are correct and the cost goes down each billing cycle. I have also gotten completely different information from different reps at Verizon at times and I know how frustrating that can be as well. Good luck!

Opening two windows with "_blank" rather than one...

While setting up external links, I am finding that every time
I have the link open in a new (_blank) window, two windows will
open up with the same link rather than one. I guess two is better
than none, but does anyone know why this is happening? And also how
to fix the problem? I tried using _parent and it does the same
thing. I'm new at flash but understand the principles, though is
there something I'm missing?

I know of no reason why that would happen other than having
the getURL, LoadVars or whatever being called twice - e.g once with
an onPress and then again with onRelease or something like that.

Open MM Period with different time zone via job

Hi All,
I'm getting a bit confused with posting date and times and time zones.
I read note 968050 and it states that all the posting date are stored in the MKPF with the server date for consistencies reason.
My problem is that my company has two company code one in Europe (sever time as well) and one in US. I would like to schedule a job to open the MM period (MMPV) every first of the month at 12:00 US time. (let say EU time)
two questions:
- Should i schedule it at 6 Server time?
- will I be able to make postings in the last day of the month in the evening when in Europe (and on the server) it's already a new month? In other words can i make an entry in MKPF with posting date new month but still in the old period???

Timing: You need to be sure that the period has been moved on Day 1, before an office starts work.
We have companies in Australia, Europe and United States. We run three separate jobs for each of these areas (ver5.0).
If you were to move the period on Oct 30, the result on the 31st would be:
1- Material could no longer be moved in September (usually not a problem because FI stopped postings to Sept earlier in the period)
2 - Material could be moved with posting dates of November, (if FI has opened the FI Accounting periods.)
Material movements made October 31st are just like movementes made on Oct 30.

Can't open a class with enrollments more than 140 learners

Hi Gurus,
Could anyone please help me find the correct patch for this error?
Class can't open and comes up with error when enrollments reach more than 140 learners. I examined the code being called and it shows that a function called ota_utility.get_learners_email_addresses is concatenating email address of all the learners enrolled in that class but the variable holding this value is declared as VARCHAR2(4000) which is not enough.
The error message i'm getting is:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
ORA-06512: at "APPS.OTA_UTILITY", line 3570
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Is it possible to open synchronized pdf with other reader than iBooks?

Hi all,
I just bought and ipod and it seems to be nice little thingy I have troubles with understanding whole logic behind how apps and files work.
In iTunes I added few pdfs and synchronized them to my ipod. I got a warning that I have not installed iBooks and won't be able to read those files so I downloaded iBooks app and synchronized it as well. all good and dandy but to be honest iBooks is not very good with pdfs at least not for me so I downloaded a few more readers like adobe for example thinking they will allow me to have better reading experience.
and here we have a surprise: my pdfs are not accessible from other reader than iBooks, I can't browse filesystem to get to them, iBooks have no "Open in..." option (which would work in case of adobe reader). I have no previous experience with apple products so maybe I am missing something basic and just showing up my ignorance but if somebody could hint me how can I make my synchronized pdfs accessible with some other app not only with iBooks I would be really grateful.

Latest Adobe Reader version has a feature wherein it can open the PDF from the page where you last used it.

'Preview in Chrome' opening two tabs with different URLs

Local root folder set to /Users/tom/Desktop
If I preview any file in Chrome (v32.0.1700.77), two tabs are created:
tab 1: file:///Users/tom/Desktop/file.html
tab 2: file://macintosh%20hd/Users/tom/Desktop/file.html (also the URL shown if Chrome is already running)
This can be frustrating if I'm previewing a page with Javascript which requires user interaction, and means I have to keep
Chrome opened all the time.
Safari (v7.0.1) and Firefox (v26) both work as expected with a single tab and show the following URLs respectively:
file:///Users/tom/Desktop/file.html
file:///Volumes/Macintosh%20HD/Users/tom/Desktop/file.html

please correct all these entries, starting with file:///. These pathes to your files are pointing to your hard drive, which nobody can see except you. After that please load up your website to your server, so that we could find some other "culprits" if still necessary.

Open web template with different language!!

Hy experts, i have this question: i have a web template and i would create a command that open the same web template with another language.
I tried to insert a hyperlink with sap-language parameter but in this way navigation properties on table and filter value's aren't maintened in the new web template .
Could you help me?

I have done this using iviews in the portal by using
ie
Language = ZH in the application parameter
will fire up the iview in chinese on a hardcoded EN BI portal
Then you can have the same iview without the language string and that fires in the portal language (if hardcoded) or the personalisation language of the user
