Ever since I downloaded the update I get a womans voice that keeps repeating "verizon wireless" when me phone is ringing with an incoming call.
How do I get rid of this?

  • Turning off audio of female voice stating "Verizon Wireless?" (Droid X)

    I am using a Droid X.
When I turn on my phone, a female voice says, "Loss of service" and then says, "Verizon Wireless." The "Loss of service" audio message also occurs if I turn on the phone's Airplane Mode. Also, when the phone rings, the female voice says, "Verizon Wireless."
My wife has the identical phone and never hears these audio messages. I looked for a way to turn off these audio messages in "Settings" but I couldn't find it.
How do I turn off these audio messages?
    Thanks.
    Richard

The setting you're looking for is called "Enhanced Roaming Indicator" but on the Droid X I think settings just calls it "roaming tone". uncheck that and the voice should go away.

  • Female Voice saying "Verizon Wireless" keeps playing for no apparent reason.

I got my droid on release day, and ever since it says "verizon wireless" in a female voice pretty often.  The phone would be sitting idle, and i did not get any notifications or anything.
Is there any way to disable that sound or any thing that might be causing this?
I would also love to disable it completely,  it can be annoying to hear it every time i recieve a phone call, before the ringtone, or i place a phone call, before it starts ringing.

I have this also and I have tried to find this option and disable it but I havent had any luck so far, I am sure its something I activated in menu but I cant figure out what option, if anyone knows the solution to this and know how to turn it off, PLEASE SHARE.... because its driving me crazy (Crazy Tick)

    Again, thank you.

  • Re Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect garbled voice problems

I hooked up a Verizon Wireless Home Phone Connect device and plugged my Panasonic KX-TG5665 5.8 GHz Digital Gigarance phone base into the home phone connect device in the center of my home.  We have several Panasonic extension phones in different rooms in the house.  This changed the quality of my phone service to terrible , to the point where we don't even want to answer the phone.  Incoming callers are complaining that we are "garbled" and difficult to hear and understand.  It also sounds like the callers are garbled as well.  We can no longer use the "speaker" on the phones because the voices are so garbled. I plugged in a wired phone to the Verizon device (which meant answering the phone at the Verizon device, which is not convenient) and the incoming callers say that our voices are "less garbled".   I need to know how to fix this problem.  I hesitate to go out and buy new phones until I know if this is a Verizon device problem.  What phone systems work well with this device?  We have a large 2-story home and live in an area with a lot of oak trees, and need to have reliable phone service (not just in one room with a corded phone).

I had to check and see if this was a recording of one of many calls I made to Verizon about my problems. I have had it almost 2 yrs now and HATE IT!! No one can fix it talking on it is as tyvm518 and pete92833 have said, it is so "garbled" The worse thing is that when places put  you on hold and play music ! OMG I feel like I will bawl it is so  horrible! No one understands that at all! I have changed phones, bought phones and even borrowed phones from family to check it out. Little or no change at all. The last tech that I spoke with even went so far as to say that "I should never been connected with this set up because when she checked it out I had little to no signals in my area. But nothing was done about it. I was told a couple of times that they would send someone out to check it for me. I have MS, am disabled and elderly. My husband is ill and 74. I rely on my phone and my PC a lot. I wanted to get out of my contract after she told me that it was basically they who were in the wrong to set me up. After all I only had a few mo to go. But she said that I would have to pay a "FINE TO CANCEL EARLY"!! I did tell her that I hate it and and will not be resigning another contract! Maybe that is why they do not call back? I NEVER lose my temper, use bad language or nor disrespectful. I use my daughters AT&T cell phone most of the time now.

  • How is it impossible to change the shipping method when Verizon Wireless is the one who screwed up?

Verizon Wireless doesn't have an email address because they know they'd get inundated with their many dissatisfied customers. I used to say "I love Verizon Wireless!!" now when people ask why I'm still with Verizon I say, "Better the devil I know than the devil I don't." And that's what almost everyone I know says!!! Why are we paying for terrible customer service and terrible policies!!! Don't they get enough money from us without having to treat us like garbage?!?!?!
Anyway, this is a bit of a rant, and I just hope someone sees it who can try to effect some change, although I doubt that's possible.
I know this is probably not the best way to resolve my issue, but I've been on the phone with customer service for over an hour, and I don't have time to go through the proper channels to leave feedback that I'm not sure even gets reviewed.
I ordered a new iPhone 5c on March 31st, through a promotion where I got the 32GB for free. Wonderful promotion, I was very excited, it worked out very well for me. I entered my credit card information to pay the $30 upgrade fee, which, quite frankly, should be illegal, and Verizon Wireless should be ashamed of themselves for charging customers to continue being customers. But that's a battle for another day.
The iPhone 5c was on back order and was guaranteed shipped by April 18th. I'm a tax accountant, so it works out well that I was super busy and not staring at the mailbox during those 18 days. But every now and then I checked my order status and it was never updated with FedEx. So I was a little concerned. On Friday, April 18th at 6.06 EST, I called in and spoke with a woman who assured me nothing was wrong with my order, and by the time the weekend was over, I should have an updated status. I asked her to review it carefully because I was concerned that I hadn't received any kind of update. She said there was nothing in there to delay my order.
Cut to Tuesday, April 22. I was perturbed, but not alarmed that I didn't have my new phone. Until my mother reminded me that she was getting my old phone, and her grace period ends on Friday, when she needs to either reconnect a phone, or start paying for service again, with or without the phone. So I called Verizon to find out what was going on.
The $30 charge didn't go through, so they never sent my device out. There is no reason the charge didn't go through, I have confirmation that I entered my card information correctly, there was over $2,000 in that account. So nothing on my side was amiss. Nobody at customer service can figure out why the payment didn't process. And nobody has the authority to expedite the shipping of my new phone. Ashley had me on hold for over 10 minutes while she conferred with a supervisor. Then she hung up on me. An accident, I know, but she didn't try to call me back, or text me to give me a callback number (which I've been told is an option).
So I had to call back in and explain this all over again to a new representative who was unable to transfer me to Ashley. And Ashley didn't put her correct inner email on my call record, so the new rep couldn't contact her. The new rep said all she could do was take the $30 payment, and then send my phone out. I was understandably upset at how I'd been hung up on, and previously lied to by the rep on Friday the 18th. But the rep insisted there was nothing she could do to expedite the shipping of my phone. I asked to speak to a supervisor, waited almost 20 minutes, which I understand.
The supervisor gets on the phone, and insists there's nothing she can do to expedite the shipping of my phone. Even after I explained the whole story, she still couldn't do anything. Because I chose normal shipping when I ordered the phone, they couldn't change it to overnight shipping now without cancelling the order. But if they cancelled the order, then I wouldn't be eligible for the promotional price, since that promotion had ended. I find it hard to believe 1) that there is **nobody** at Verizon Wireless customer service who can contact the warehouse and ask them to overnight a shipment and 2) that there is **nobody** at Verizon Wireless who could cancel my original order, create a new order with overnight shipment, and then waive the price of the phone to be in line with the promotion/sale.
I find it equally impossible to believe that in special circumstances, you can't forward the stock request to a store near me so I can pick up in person.
And then, to make matters even more fun, the supervisor I was on the phone with told me I had to order asap, because the shipping cutoff had passed 15 minutes before, and there wasn't even a guarantee that my phone would be shipped out at the end of the day. So instead of getting my phone a week later than I should have, I'd be getting it over a week later than I should have. To further compound my anger and frustration, when I called Verizon on March 31st to ask a question about my update, I sat on hold for a few minutes and was transferred and then hung up on. So I was hung up on twice by customer service, and that still didn't get me what I wanted.
Now, I know these are first world problems. But if consumers keep letting themselves get pushed around by the big monopolies who don't care about my $75 a month, then it will just get worse.
Ask yourself: Would you stay with a company who treated you the way I was treated above?
If you made it this far, thanks for reading.
    Sincerely,
Soon to be a Former Verizon Customer

I think most Verizon customers feel the same way:/  I was chatting with Verizon for over 2 hours and they still wouldn't help me.  Verizon Wireless and their customer service is TERRIBLE!!  I do not know why they still have customers.  I upgraded to the iPhone 5S end of December 2013.  I spent over $250 for the brand new iPhone 5S and only had it for 3 mos before I started having problems with it.  It is now June and am on my 3rd iPhone 5s.  This 3rd phone is having issues already, which will make it the 4th phone since I upgraded and the 3rd replacement refurbished phone they sent me.  I called today asking for a new phone.  I do not want any part of the iPhones anymore with as many problems as I have had.  I spoke to 3 different representatives, and none of them would help me.  I still have a year and a half at least left on my contract, so they are going to let me go through god knows how many more iPhones before my contract ends. They basically stated that if I wanted a different phone I have to pay full retail price for a new phone or else be stuck with replacement iPhone 5S' for the next year and a half.  Verizon is worthless!!  I'm thinking I'm going to switch carriers.  I spent so much money on a brand new phone when I upgraded and only had the new phone for 3 mos....that's just ridiculous and unfair and Verizon won't replace it with another brand new phone. I am stuck with refurbished iPhone 5S'.

  • My recent experience with Verizon wireless

Approximately two years ago, I decided to switch to Verizon wireless from another carrier because the company I work for has a corporate account with them and offers discounts to employees that have their personal accounts with VZW as well. I got a vanilla iPhone 4 and everything was going well until recently when I made the mistake of trying to upgrade my phone.
My first attempt to upgrade was two days ago. I entered the Independence, Ohio corporate store and wandered around a bit assuming a sales person would be around to see me soon. My main goal was to decide whether to upgrade to the HTC 8x or the Nokia Lumina 928 as I have a surface and I was interested in getting all my devices onto the same platform (Windows 8). After five minutes or so I detected a presence and I started describing the above to the salesperson who had appeared next to me. He stared at me blankly and flatly stated that he was just there to "check me in." He assured me it would only be 15 minutes or so, so I gave him my number and continued playing around with the test phones they had on display. Thirty minutes later, I was getting anxious watching what seemed like tens of employees wandering aimlessly throughout the store staring at tablets or talking with customers about seemingly unrelated topics (video games, weather etc...), I walked out with the thought that I would just upgrade online.
I went onto Verizon's website later that evening and attempted to upgrade. I got all the way to the point where I select my delivery method and selected pick up at store. I found the store I had visited earlier in the day and it said "Available for pick up in this store;" however, when I attempted to continue there was an error and it didn't allow me to complete the purpose. Seeing as many of us operate under the "I want it now" mentality, I wanted to avoid having to ship the device and thought that it should be easy enough to somehow get this transaction completed in person.
Next day I went to a different Verizon store in hopes it would be less busy. This time, I walked in and there were four guys sitting around in an empty store twiddling their thumbs with cigarettes strewn about the main desk. They asked what I had come for and I told them. They incredulously asked me why I would want a Windows 8 phone. I told them. They said they didn't have that phone because it was a "rare" phone. They then proceeded to train the "new" guy (4th guy doing nothing) on how to check inventory. When I asked them whether the Independence store had the phone they proceeded to describe to me in excruciating detail the "intricacies" underlying corporate vs self-owned branches and how they couldn't check the inventory of Independence due to it being the former. They then said I could upgrade with them and then drive thirty minutes to the nearest non-corporate store to pick up the phone. Sounds like a great solution.... right. I declined and left.
Later that day I returned to the Independence store and went through the same song and dance as before; however, this time I was determined to wait. I "checked in" with the fellow at the front and set in to wait. After about thirty minutes of watching "employees" mill around aimlessly heads-down, staring at tablets and wandering in and out of the "back room" someone called for "Tim" - my name is "Tom" - apparently the greeter had failed at his one mission of greeting customers and GETTING THEIR NAME RIGHT. I get that it's a similar enough name but at this point I was getting frustrated. I had spent upwards of 2 hours between store visits and web-form filler-outing simply trying to give Verizon more money. And it wasn't over yet...
"Tim" acknowledged the woman and she trundled over to help. I asked her whether the HTC 8x was free to upgrade to as that is the deal offered online and there is even a link online that allows you to "get this deal at your local store." She said she would have to check. After fiddling with her magic tablet for a minute or two she sorrowfully informed me that it was $99 dollars to upgrade to that phone in the store. She then ushered me to a kiosk and asked me to log into My Verizon account on there to see if the deal was available via that method. At that point she got a person involved who was presumably a "manager" who was standing in the midst of the store, arms crossed, scanning the sea of people hoping to buy phones interspersed with employees wandering around (heads down, staring at tablets, of course), and just generally looking important (or trying to). I said to him: so I can upgrade here but you can't just hand me a phone, I have to have it shipped to me? His response was: "Yup, sorry dude." Great. Fine, I say: I go through the whole process again and at checkout, the phone is 99 instead of free like I had seen at home. His response, "Oh, sorry man." Throwing up my hands, I left thinking - company discount be ****** - I was going to switch to a different provider.
By the time I had arrived at home, I had cooled off a bit and I figured I would just try the shipping thing again in order to avoid having to interact with these phone salespeople again. I went through the process, got my "free" HTC 8x upgrade - with the exception of the $30 "upgrade fee"  of course - which covers three hours of a tablet-staring, empty-eyed salesperson's salary and completed my order. (NB: I went through the process of "verifying" my device so I could have the new phone shipped to a different shipping address cf. my billing address as I am out of town on business and won't be back at my home residence for another two weeks. This alternate address is a separate house - a real address - I keep in another city). Finally, I think, done and upgraded - won't have to deal with them for another two years.
Two hours later, I get an email saying my order was shipped. That was fast, I think at first with glee! Then I check the email... they had shipped the phone to my home address... the place I won't be for two weeks. Grumbling, I picked up the phone and suffered through the pain that is the Verizon automated phone system attempting to reach another human. Finally, I reach a bubbly gal' with a thick Southern accent (nice enough actually) who apologized and said she would sent in a change order to FedEx to get my phone rerouted to my current address. Ok I said, thank you for your help - should I expect a confirmation from FedEx? Yes, she said - expect it by the morning.
Fast forward to this morning where I'm sitting in a meeting and my phone goes off - incoming call from Irvine, California - strange. I return to my meeting. Fifteen minutes later, same number calls. I excuse myself from the meeting - this must be an emergency. I pick up: HI THIS IS AN AUTOMATED CALL FROM VERIZON WIRELESS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO TAKE A SURVEY. I hang up in disgust and return to my job. After the meeting is over, I get onto my computer to check the status of my phone delivery. Yup, as expected - happily on its way to my HOME address where it will either be returned to sender or left sitting on my doorstep for two weeks.
    Great work.
    -An Unhappy Customer. (AKA "Tim")

Man that was way to long....................!
First send a certified return receipt requested letter to the address on your invoice. Dispute the $299.00 then wait for the green receipt card to come back to you. Tell them exactly why you are disputing it. Photos don't match, not the phone you sent bac and all the problems you have had with your service, if you have contact names state them in the letter.
Make copies of the letter you sent, any corrospondence you received from them, invoices, etc. dates, times of phone calls, and go to a Small Claims court and sue them for all amounts in dispute. Add in the cost of the certified letter, loss from work fir going to court, filing fees, and make sure you have all your documents ready for the judge.
Do not elect arbitration from verizon at anytime just have your case heard in court. Do not settle with verizon unless they credit you the full amount you are asking for. The loss/damage phone scam is common with verizon just do a google search on it, print them out to show the judge it is questionable that you are to blame for the damage.
Its a scam from the vendor Verizon uses to collect these devices. Damage claims have to be filed by verizon if they are paying for the return back to them.
Also sue them in a State Supreme court for cutting off your service without following the fair debt collection act. You can dispute orally, but must write to preserve your rights.
    Good Luck

  • HT201436 how to send a direct voicemail to an IPHONE from a Galaxy S III on Verizon wireless?

I can not send a direct voicemail using Promt 2 to send a message from my Galaxy SIII to an Iphone 5 or 4. Is there something I can do with my phone or should the iphone recepient do something with their phone so that direct voicemail can be achieved?
Both phones are on Verizon wireless. I tried to research this online. There is no information available at all! I called Verzon Wireless support, they did not know why. CAN ANY ONE HELP ME figure this out?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Alex

Try calling into your voice ail instead of using the Visual Voicemail. You can call in by dialing *86. Then you'll need to listen to the prompts. It used to be possible to send messages to other VZW users that way but I haven't done it in forever.

  • Number ported out from Google Voice to Verizon not working

I am a new Verizon Wireless customer and I ported my number from Google Voice to Verizon. (number ending in 8466). However, Verizon keeps saying that they are waiting on Google while Google says they have released the number.
    Message from Google:
Google Voice has successfully approved your request, but the carrier to whom you are porting hasn't completed their necessary action. If you are still having issues and your number doesn't successfully port in 2-3 business days, please contact your new carrier for support, as Google Voice is unable to take any additional action.
    Message from Verizon:
Your port request has been submitted, but no response has been received. We expect your port request will be completed within 10 business days.
So obviously there's something wrong here. According to Google they cannot do anything since they have released the number so now it's all on Verizon. I am hoping someone from Verizon can look into this ASAP and escalate if necessary. It's really annoying because at this point I'm not receiving any inbound calls or text messages. I can only make outbound calls and send SMS messages. I understand there is an X number of business days I need to wait but at this point I am paying for a service that I cannot use and no one is able to reach me.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

Thanks sprmankalel but I've already done that. That's where I got the message "Your port request has been submitted, but no response has been received. We expect your port request will be completed within 10 business days."
And when I check on Google Voice's end "Google Voice has successfully approved your request, but the carrier to whom you are porting hasn't completed their necessary action"
    Interesting huh?

  • Open Letter to Verizon Wireless

    Dear Verizon,
I have been a loyal customer of yours for about 11 years now.  You have been my only cell phone service carrier since I was 16 years old.  You have been able to keep me with you because of your customer service and your coverage areas.  However, I feel that we have just grown apart these last few years.  .
You see, though your service fees have always been higher than the competition.  I was always able to justify the expenditure because of your excellent coverage, unlimited data plan, and excellent customer service.  There was a time when my phone was broken and I was still months away from getting an upgrade, but you allowed me to do so anyway.  That is great customer service.  I cannot tell you how many times I have been out in the middle of nowhere lost, yet still had service to use the GPS to guide me back home.  That is excellent coverage.  In addition, your unlimited data has provided me with access to the internet and netflix when I could not afford cable which has been extremely valuable.
However, I just do not think you love me anymore Verizon.  It all started a few years ago when you decided you did not want to provide your customers with unlimited data.  I was able to upgrade my phone to 4G and was still grandfathered in, so you didn't hurt me too much.  Then, you decided that you were not going to honor grandfathered data plans with phone upgrades, which stung all the more.  Now, you have decided that you no longer love me by throttling the data for those of us who are still grandfathered in.  You say it's not throttling, but let's call it what it is, throttling.
I spoke with your customer service (which as I mentioned has always been 5-star), and I was trying to see what I could do to lower my monthly bill.  To my dismay, I found that I have only two options: 1) upgrade my phone and receive a new 2 year agreement, or 2) buy a new phone with Verizon Edge, either upfront of have my payments spread across 20 months, and pay roughly the same amount as the 2 year agreement price.  Both of these options will cost me roughly the same amount of money that I currently pay.  In addition, I asked if I could keep my existing phone and get the cheaper Verizon Edge plan, but I was told that is not an option.  In essence, to continue to do business with Verizon, I will be forced to pay for a product I don't necessarily need.  I feel like President Obama is in charge of your company now, requiring everyone to buy what he mandates.  There's no freedom of choice, and as a son of a Veteran, I truly value freedom.
You see, up until now I have been able to justify your high prices for service, coverage, unlimited data... but I just cannot be in this relationship anymore.  I know you've tried to woo me back with "Unlimited nationwide calling and text messaging."  The truth is, I've never used more than 100 minutes on the phone, and I already paid a premium to have unlimited text messaging... and I was ok with that.  To be perfectly frank, what I'm saying is that your new plans suck and add absolutely no value to me.  In fact, I would say your new plans have much less value to me now than before.  I get much less than I had before (as I stated, your "unlimited nationwide calling" adds absolutely no value to me), and my rates will not go down, it's baffling.
I just wanted to let you know that I will now be acquiring internet, a much cheaper plan with another carrier that has unlimited nationwide calling, text messaging, and enough data to satisfy my needs, and a carrier that provides coverage where I need it.  I will be getting all of these things for less than I am paying you now (and less than I would have to pay with your new plans).  So I guess what I'm saying is that I am breaking up with you.  It hurts me, but I know you care more about your bottom line than customer loyalty, and I can understand that.  I am a proponent of capitalism.  However, I am also a believer in free markets, and I believe (and I think other long-time customers will soon find out) that you now offer an inferior product based on price.  Because of your short sighted plans to raise revenue when the overall economy is down, you will hurt yourself more than you will help yourself in the long run.  I am only telling you that because I care.  It has been a good ride, but I must now leave you before you lure me back in with false hope of ever getting better.
    Sincerely,
    Paul H.

Amen to this wonderful letter!!!  I have been with Verizon wireless FOREVER!!!  They were wonderful---key word being WERE!!   I can't count how many times & ways I contacted Verizon 2 weeks prior to my phone upgrade date---only to be told each time that I could not upgrade 2 weeks early (my phone at the time was deemed useless).  Had to wait for THE date.  Well, I went to a Verizon store several days before THE date and surprise..... the salesman let me upgrade my phone!!  He could NOT believe that the phone reps or computer "chat" reps would not allow me to upgrade!  Well, I did the upgrade for myself and my son (Samsung S4 for me and S5 for my son).  I almost passed out when the salesman told me how much I owed!!   What shocked me was the "line activation fee" for the 2 phones we purchased!!   WHAT??!!  Line activation fee???   The lines were already activated!!  OMG Verizon----- you are getting to be just as bad as Time Warner Cable!!!

  • Verizon Wireless is About to Cost Me a Home!!!!!!!!!

This is EXTREMELY frustrating and I'm about to lose the home I really want to buy.
I applied for a mortgage this month (January 2014) and that's when I realized there's collections activity on all 3 credit bureaus with Verizon that I already paid. These collections are affecting my loan approval and now my mortgage loan is on hold. I have a bid on a house that I'm about to lose because Verizon's recovery department can't get their act together and is giving me the runaround. I PAID THIS ACCOUNT LAST SUMMER.
Last summer, I had a balance outstanding with Verizon on a  couple subaccounts. I called recovery and they said I had a balance of  $643.19. I paid this full amount about a week after the phone call (all  documented).
When I discovered the collections on my credit bureaus. I immediately checked my bank account dating back to last summer and it shows the payment POSTED clearly saying "Verizon Wireless Bill Pay" etc.... I called recovery the next day after being transferred 3 times and wait times totaling 43 minutes while I'm at work. I explain my long story to the rep and she asked me to fax in the bank statement that shows it cleared and she said they'll call me within 48 hours (this was last week. I faxed it immediately and also attached a blank check to show it's my account (accounts numbers match).
Of course I didn't get a call back so I called them on Friday to get an update because the realtor, the mortgage lender, the seller and myself are all waiting on this. There are no updates and the rep asked me to call back Monday. This is after I had to explain to whole entire story again. After explaining the story each time, the rep always tries to fix it even though I adamantly tell them they can't fit it and just to check the notes and give me an update.
Fast forward to Thursday and two more phone calls, two more times of explaining the story to new reps, two more supervisors, I STILL haven't had a resolution yet. Now they're asking for my full credit card number to search the payment. WHY SHOULD I GIVE MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER AGAIN WHEN THIS IS NOT MY MISTAKE AND IS VERIZON'S MISTAKE????? I made the payment, it says it clearly on my bank statement, my bank will back me up on this!! I'm about to lose the home I want to purchase because Verizon lost my payment! I want this escalated to someone that CAN help with a sense of urgency since nobody else seems to care that Verizon's mistake is about to cost me a home. The rep told me to email the "Contact Us" link on the website. Are you kidding???? THat's how I escalate to someone higher up? To email a general email address that thousands of other customers are emailing?? Unacceptable....
I have been given 3 days to get this cleared up or I lose the bid on the home. If that happens, this WILL become news. If they cannot locate my payment after over a week, I don't think they will and I will lose this house. Even if I lose it and apply for another home, these collections WILL still show on my credit bureau and I'm still screwed over by Verizon. Desperate cry for help online...is there ANYONE that can actually help or did I just waste a week and lose a home? If this remains on my credit report and I can't get a mortgage, then this WILL go viral online and make news. It's only fair I get it credited and it gets removed from my credit report. I've sent in a bank statement, a screenshot, a blank check showing matching account numbers and now they want my credit card number. This is completely unacceptable and people need to be aware of this...

First off the non payment to verizon was indeed correct. You admit this in your post.
Secondly, correct information even if paid in full will stay on your credit report for 7-10 years. Any subsequent posting to the trade line will again make it show longer. Read the link it is the law.
Your state of residence may have credit reporting laws similar to the Federal Law.
A mortgage lender can in most cases overlook certain debts that have been paid. It varies from lender to lender. I know a couple that had a electric company bill posted on his credit report, not a big invoice just $90 the electric company never sent the invoice after they moved or the post office did not forward it. In any case the bank only needed a letter from the creditor stating that the invoice has been paid in full.
They received their mortgage and the credit bureaus show it as paid.
However verizon wireless will not be able to assist you with such documents because of just where and who in this large company can produce the document you need? And they will not remove the information from your three credit bureaus. The information that you were late, or went to collections, or charged off is factual so it will remain.
When we bought our home we had the credit union give us an advanced copy to see where we stood. They even said they would use the report from the best one we liked. Needless to say we have no negative dings so getting mortgage and personal lines of credit are no problem. You have to watch your report very carefully and often.
I know that is no comfort to you now. The good part about this is *IF* because of Verizon's not reporting properly or it being in error that could have been fixed, you can get a lawyer and sue for three times the amount of the mortgage you lost due to their error. However if the information is correct be it paid or unpaid the black mark will stand.
    Good Luck

  • Open letter to Verizon Wireless Management and Customer No-Services

After more than 10 years as a customer of Verizon Wireless, I have recently encountered several situations that have caused me to begin the process of changing my service provider to another company. Verizon has "zero" loyalty or appreciation of its existing customers; they have poor, and in one particular case, rude customer no-service representatives and policies.
I purchased a new smart phone for my college daughter. Of course, activation of this new phone required the purchase of a data plan, even though she doesn't need or intend to use data services. (That's fine; I was aware of  this cost even though I believe it to be over-priced). In addition, they also required a $30 fee for signing a new contract. Seriously? Are you kidding me? A fee for the "privilege" of signing a contract with the big, powerful, arrogant Verizon? I don't want a contract in the first place; it is Verizon that wants the contract. They should pay me for signing a contract. I could understand a fee for a new account setup (not really, but it makes a little sense) but a fee for an existing multi-line, long-time customer where the paperwork is nothing more than a mere mouse click of  the "I Agree" button?
So, the daughter gets her new phone with 24 months of data (for the low, low price of 25 months.... yea right). We take her old phone, which she has had for several years, and decide to use it on another of the lines in our family plan because it has a qwerty keyboard. Now, I learn that I have to sign up for a data plan to use this old phone on a different line. This phone has been in service for several years with no data plan but now I have to have a data plan to use it?  What the **** ??? I only wanted to use the phone for voice calls and a few texts. I have no need for data. This phone, an ENV3, is not well suited for data services anyway. (No, I won't be using this old phone after all.)
Companies such as yours dream up  junk fees; this one amounts to $1.25 per month additional revenue. They do this as a way of increasing revenue while advertising a lower price, ie advertise $30.00 per month but actually charge $31.25. I suppose they all pat themselves on the back and start counting all the new-found money. The management is so stupid and arrogant that they do not realize what the long-term impact could be. In this particular case, the end result shall be the net loss of $250.00 per month in revenue. I know that you don't care; that is painfully obvious and clear.
Well Mr. Verizon, you may consider this to be my official letter of resignation. Consider me gone, done, history. I don't need you, your arrogance, or your over-priced services. I currently pay nearly $250/mo to your company for six phone lines, four of which are "very lightly" used for calls and and a few text only. Personally, on my line,  I do nothing but make and/or receive an average of  two  3-minute calls per week. I put up with a lot of crap making my money; I do not have to tolerate any when spending it. I WILL be taking ALL my business elsewhere. Four of my lines are currently month-to-month with no contract. I will be moving these to another provider in the coming week. The remaining ones will be moved upon expiration of their respective contracts.
    Cheers

Verizon has no obligation to respect your "loyalty." They do, however, have an obligatory fiduciary duty to their investors, hence the "upgrade" fees, "line access" fees, "regulatory recovery" fees, data plan "repuirements", and data caps, none of which are intended to buy YOU anything. They are assessed primarily to provide profits to them and dividends to their investors, along with a source of capital expenditure for their network expansion whose sole purpose is to attract more customers to provide more revenue streams to meet their aforementioned fiduciary duty to serve their executives and investors ever greater profits and dividends. And in this country, that is ALL this wireless game is about. EVERYTHING else, be it customer service, value of service, loyalty or anything else, is secondary.
And you think other carriers are any different? Nope. They all are in this for the exact same game, however they choose to play it, plan for plan, fee for fee. Sure, details differ, some plans might look more appealing and for some, prudent shopping around might even net some nominal cost savings, but all in all, they pretty much charge the same fees and require the same data plans, because that's where the big bucks are, and one way or another you will pay them or you will do without (which might be a blessing in disguise).
I personally don't like this any more than you do, and I would favor strong federal regulatory oversight much as they have in Europe Latin America and Asia, along with homogenized network infrastructure which stimulates competition by allowing easy interoperability of phones and devices irrespective of carrier, but I fear it will be a cold day in hell before we ever see the likes of that here. According Republican thinking, that's just not the "American Way."

  • Verizon Wireless Customer Service Complaint

I want to either file a complaint for the horrible customer service I received from a Verizon customer service rep and manager or learn how to file one. I just transferred from AT&T 2 weeks ago and I am already regretting it.   I cant seem to find an email to be able to do this.  If I dont hear from anyone with Verizon Wireless, I will just let T-Mobile buyout my contract or anyone that wants to buy me out. Kathleen KBG Verizon Wireless Customer Support
    Thanks.

    Dear Verizon Customer Service
On the 3rd of October I came into the Verizon Wireless-4G store on 8726 S Sepulveda Bvd Ste C, Westchester, CA 90045 where I requested to set up a new account with Verizon and pre order a new iphone 6. The employee (Michael) who set up my account, copy pasted my address from my drivers licensee without verifying with me if it was my current address. After completing my order, I signed the contact only to find out later that the incorrect address was used. So I walked into the store a couple days later to notify your employee (Michael) that the address was incorrect, but he assured me that it could be easily changed once my phone was delivered to the store and my service was initiated with Verizon. Finally on the 21's of October, when I came in to pickup my phone and complete the application, (Michael) who had initiated my application was not present, so your employee Steve Martinez was left to complete my application. From the beginning he was not only very rude, but seemed unwilling to help me, mentioning that I should wait for Michael to continue with my application, but due to my limited time, I asked him to continue with the process. When I told him that I wanted to update my address, he told me that I would not be able to do that without a proof of address. So due to my limited time, I told him to continue with my old address, and I would switch it at a later time. He denied this request, stating that he would not continue with my application until I gave him proof of a different address. I pleased with him to help me figure out a way to solve this problem and try other options, but he absolutely denied all of my suggestions or requests, stating that the only way he would continue with my account was if I provided him proof of my recent move to a new location. Following this exchange, I tried to contact customer service for help, but they notified me that the only person that could help me at this time was an in-store representative Steve Mendez because my account was not yet active. No matter how many times I asked for his help, Steve refused to continue processing my account, going so far as to say that If I wasn't happy with his service, I was welcome to a full refund and removal from Verizon service. Extremely unhappy, I left the store and took a taxi to my rental office in order to obtain a copy of my lease agreement. Finally after almost two hours of transportation, I returned with all the requested paperwork, and found that (Michael) who had initially started my account was present.
At this time, Michael notified me that not only did I not need the extra paperwork to complete my order, but that he only needed my old address in the first place to initiate my account. So after couple waisted hours and 43.51$ dollars of taxi expense, I was finally able to complete my Verizon application with Micheal. As a new Verizon customer, I am very disappointed with the level of customer service I received from Steve Mendez, who seemed more willing to transfer me to another company that work with me to figure out a solution to my problem. I had looked forward to starting service with your company, and it is unfortunate that my first experience with your employee's was such a poor one. In response to the recent incident, I would ask that my account be credited the 43.51$ that I needed to spend on transportation moving back and forth to retrieve a document that was not even used to setup my account. I can send receipt as a prof.
    Sincerely, Sonja M

  • I want to run down how dissatisfied I currently am with Verizon Wireless

I want to run down how dissatisfied I currently am with Verizon Wireless; this stated with the pre-order of the iPhones on Friday I like many other customers received the "ecdp" error on the web site and it took 45 minutes to actually be able to place the order.  I got the order in and had a 09/19/2014 ship date; spoke with a few Customer Service Reps in various areas such as 611, on many of the 800 numbers available, Internet Orders (including a Supervisor) and even a Social Media Service Rep all who have confirmed this ship date to be accurate.
Well today (09/17/2014) I check the Pre-Order Status page and my date has been changed to 10/14/2014 so I call in to speak to Internet Orders and the Rep advises me that yes my date was pushed back but no reason is supplied, I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was transferred to Howard, Operator # 2431235, who stated that yes the prior rep was accurate and that there was no reason available as to why my ship date changed.  Howard continues by stating that as per upper management, Apple reported to Verizon that no iPhone 6+'s would be available at launch for Verizon to ship and that this has been common knowledge, within the company, that the 6+'s were not shipping until 10/14/2014, and that prior Verizon employee's to include supervisors were misinforming me of my shipping date.  Howard continued to state that the reason I got the "ecdp" error was because of the company that I work for as Verizon offers a discount so the 'ecdp" error is not something Verizon is currently addressing.  Howard then tells me not to worry that with the 10/14 date is a guaranteed delivery date and not to worry, if the phones come in early the order will be filled, I at this point ask Howard to note my account with our conversation to include the fact that he stated the 10/14 was a guaranteed date, at this point he states that while he is telling me this he will not put it in writing as at that point Verizon would be obligated to meet that date at minimum and he was not willing to put his position on the line if the phone is not shipped by that date(this can be confirmed by reviewing the recording of the call as I was advised that I was on a recorded line).  I then asked to speak to his supervisor and was told his supervisor went home for the day and that he was the highest level supervisor on at this time.  When I then asked for his supervisors contact information to lodge a complaint he said that I would need to call back in on 611 from my handset as Customer Service handles complaints not supervisors.
I did call back and speak with a Representative on 611 who tried to assist but was not able to do much, this rep took my information and is having their supervisor call me to try addressing the way Howard handled the call however this has not occurred at the time of this writing.  I did tell this rep that I was honestly considering going to another carrier, (I have been with Verizon 7-8 years and currently have 10 lines of service on my account) I know I will not get the iPhone 6+ on launch day with another carrier which was not the driving factor but rather the way Howard dealt with the situation and the lack of respect that as a customer of Verizon I have always got from other representatives, as you know it takes one person to sour someone on a whole company, Howard even stated that if I want to go to another carrier that was fine with him.  However, the Customer Service Rep I spoke with after Howard (I wish I could remember his name) calmed me down not to leave Verizon but did agree that a complaint needed to be filed, personally I would like to file it directly with an Associate Vice President or higher but do understand that there is a “Chain of Command” that needs to be filed
Let this be a warning to anyone who call internet sale and gets Howard, operator #2431235, I would suggest you immediately request a different supervisor that will treat you with respect.  As stated above Howard will tell you that the iPhone 6+ was not and has never been available to ship on launch day due to Apple purposely not providing enough units to meet the demand and that Verizon knew this while taking our pre-orders.

I feel your pain Robert. I do believe VZW and Apple knew all along the I6 Plus would not be available on 19 Sep and that it was a way to bolster new contracts, renewed contracts and apple sales stats. It's unfortunate the company wasn't more clairvoyant, most of us would have still pre-ordered but been a little less frustrated.

  • Verizon Wireless lack of respect for customer base!

I have never, ever in my life as a customer of Verizon Wireless been treated with such distain as yesterday! From multiple CSR's to a Manager who flat out told me his hands were tied in his position. From the lack of respect to lack of responsibility! Being a 5 year customer who's $190.00 a month for my own personal line, to be led around blind is disheartening. I am eligible for an upgrade in about 6.5 months. Recently dealing with iOS problems and a rising cell bill made me want to look into the upgrades and what the best options for me be it with Verizon or elsewhere. Wanted insight regarding the Edge program and do some comparing. Too say the least, I did NOT get any of those answers. Even after being escalated to a manager, a day later, I am uninformed and surprised regarding Verizon's lack of respect for their customer base! This morning I tried locating some contacts for upper management for Verizon and haven't been very successful! Does anyone have any contact info to voice my lack of concern within the company before allowing their customer service reps and entry level management to let their core base of customers walk? I would be appreciative!
