Won't be able to delete message

My conversation was about 100 texts (lines). I keep on deleting and also try to "clear conversation" but It didn't work...help please...

I don't think it is possible now. They either have access to the disk or not.
If you create accounts on the TC .. each user only has access to their own files.. and if you give them access to your files they can then copy and paste the files.. or delete them.
In the old days.. we used to be able to control the guest account access. AFAIK this is all gone.
Exactly what model TC running exactly what firmware.. and using exactly what OS on the computer using exactly which airport utility.
See I do still have control.. because I have v5 utility, I can do guest access with read only permissions.
The v6 toyland version airport utility equivalent of the above is.
ie controls reduced to a rump of their former glory. .. well it was pretty minimal even in v5 to be truthful but was something.

  • Please bring back the option of being able to delete messages.

It baffles me that this option was taken away, but with the latest build of Spotify, which replaced the old inbox with the very unneeded message threads, there is no way to delete messages. I was told to submit this as an idea, but I'm shocked I even have to. Next thing, I'll be submitting an idea to allow me to shut Spotify down after I'm done using it.
EDIT: I'd also like to add, as some of you have, that it's somewhat disturbing to find very old messages that I "deleted" two years ago now appearing in my Messages box again. Which means Spotify held on to those private messages, even though I hit that Delete button. Not good.
EDIT #2: Hi, everyone. It's been A YEAR AND A HALF since I posted this, and as you can see, even after 19 pages of comments and almost 700 kudos, Spotify hasn't done anything about it besides call it a "good idea". Thanks, Spotify. Because of this issue, and because of Spotify's reluctance to listen to the community on an issue which I feel is way more important than the color of the background, I have barely touched Spotify in the past 6-7 months. There are other alternatives these days. While they may not be perfect, at least they seem to respect my privacy more than Spotify, which is extremely important to me. Keep the comments and kudos coming, friends. I appreciate all of you backing me on this. Hopefully, Spotify will fix this issue at some point in the next decade. Until then, I'll be enjoying other streaming services.

Seriously!?!? Who thought it would be a good idea for people to not be allowed to delete messages?
Which possible scenario would support the need for users to permanently keep messages to the point where you just disable the ability to delete them?
I am baffled and disappointed. This appears to be some sort of compulsory data hoarding by Spotify.
EDIT October 9th, 2014: after multiple updates to the Spotify client, they have still not reinstated the ability to delete messages.
Premium Subscription cancelled with immediate effect.
EDIT 2: To clarify my position here: I am an adult who ocassionally uses choice language when engaged in friendly messaging between friends. However my kids (5 and 8) and their friends also like to use Spotify to listen to stuff (mainly the Frozen soundtrack!) and I think this is something to be encouraged - music is a wonderful thing. The solution is fairly apparent: don't use bad language, and yes that is a solution going forward BUT I CAN'T DELETE THE EXISTING MESSAGES.

  • Mail won't delete messages

Hello. Here's an out-of-the-blue problem I started having this weekend. The Mail ap on my MacBook suddenly stopped allowing me to delete messages. When I try to delete a message I am given this error message:
The destination mailbox “Deleted Messages (Mac.com) — On My Mac” does not allow messages to be moved to it.
I am able to delete messages by using Safari to log-in to .mac and viewing/deleting messages via the browser.
Any thoughts on how to fix this problem in the Mail ap?
    Thanks!

    Hello kristy:
You could do the "standard" troubleshooting things:
    Repair permissions
Run repair disk from your software install DVD
Trash the preference file - com.apple.mail.plist (this will trash ALL of your preferences, so do not delete it from the trash)

  • How can I set up a new account without auto deleting messages on the server?

Ive got accounts on COMCAST.NET (are those imap accounts?) and when I created a user account on Thunderbird for one of them the autocreate process immedaitely started downloading messages from my server before I was able to set the "keep messages on server" flag. (Its been a few months, forgive me if I am not using the exact right option text but you get the idea.)
How can I create a Thunderbird account that will download all the message on my server (comcast.net) and leave them all there?
That's the only thing keeping me from switching to Thunderbird. Please help - comcast's online web client is not the most bug free thing in the world.
(Note, I am setting up a new win7 system, had been using OE 6 on winXP. I assume I am better off trying this than running OE in XP in a virtual window - and even if I moved my old message bases from XP I still need to create an account that won't immediately start downloading/deleting messages from my server before I can configure it not to.)
    Any help appreciated.

Comcast only offers POP accounts, and one way to set up the account and enter all the settings before it connects to the mail server, might be to do it Offline:
    https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/991539#answer-547878
The server settings are given [http://customer.comcast.com/help-and-support/internet/setting-up-thunderbird/ here], but the method is for Online account setup.

  • Not able to delete email in mail 3.0

everytime i try to delete mail in mail 3.0 (using aol's imap and smtp servers) mail gives me an error stating: message: (title of message from [email protected] could not be saved to the mailbox "deleted messages - My email address - AOL Mail
    Any help?

I have the same problem! Before Leopard (with Tiger), could click Delete on a message and it went into trash. Now, I get "The message “[title of email: date]” could not be moved to the mailbox “Deleted Messages — [username for email]" and then below that message in the same box: "The IMAP command “UID COPY” (to Deleted Messages) failed for the mailbox “INBOX” with server error: UID COPY failed Deleted Messages: no such mailbox."
Um. How can I fix this? It is a royal pain not be able to delete messages.
I also cannot delete them from my individual inboxes; it's not just the collective INBOX.
Mail Help? just tells me to set my account prefs (Mailbox Behaviors) for when to erase deleted messages. That's already set up.
Anyone have a clue how to solve this?

  • Iphone 5 - I am trying to delete message threads and once I do, I go to text someone else and it won't send. HELP? I just don't want those messages on my phone anymore.

Iphone 5 - I am trying to delete message threads and once I do, I go to text someone else and it won't send. HELP? I just don't want those messages on my phone anymore. I have tried to restart my phone but when I do, the "deleted" threads show back up on my phone. I use iOS 7.1.

    Hello Makayla,
It sounds like you're deleted message threads keep coming back after you restart the devie. I recommend starting by quitting all the running apps on your phone:
iOS: Force an app to close
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
When you have done that restart the device and test the issue again:
iOS: Turning off and on (restarting) and resetting
If the issue persists, backup your device to iTunes and then restore it as a new device and verify that it works.
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups
If it does, then restore your backup to either verify it still works and the software just needed reinstalled, or isolate the issue to the backup file itself.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

I updated everything fully. Deleted spybot unintalled and reintalled the newest and one older version of itunes. still nothing. I tried to delete some files that is hidden as directed by apple. • Deleting messages on iPhone won't delete on .Mac

I have an issue where if I delete an email on my iPhone and then log in to .Mac mail, I still see the message there. Further inspection shows that the message is in the .Mac trash AND in the inbox - almost like the message was copied rather than moved. Not sure how to get the sync to finally take effect. I think if I check mail via mail.app it will force the sync. Also, if I delete one of the many messages in the .mac inbox, it will suddenly delete all the messages that should have already been deleted.
Anybody else see this? I have a buddy who is also able to reproduce this "bug".

Make sure the settings in your iphone and on your computer match for where deleted messages go. On the iphone, go to settings>mail>yourdotmacaccount, tap advanced, and it should show you that deleted messages are being put in "Deleted Messages". On your mac, if you don't have a mailbox that says "Deleted Messages" you're fine, because that means that you've told it (or it automatically chose it) that the mailbox "Deleted Messages" is your Trash. On the computer it shows just "Trash" for whatever mailbox is chosen for deleted messages.

  • Why won't my iMessage work with only one contact in my phone all my other iMessages send and they just got an iphone but all their iMessages are sending also. I've tried restarting my phone, deleting messages, contact, restarting network

    Hello Jesslb23,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2755
To resolve issues with sending and receiving iMessages, follow these steps first
Check iMessage system status for current service issues.
Go to Settings > Messages > Send & Receive and make sure that you have registered iMessage with your phone number or Apple ID and that you have selected iMessage for use. Learn more about troubleshooting iMessage registration if the phone number or Apple ID isn't available for use.
Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify data connectivity. Learn more about troubleshootingcellular data or a Wi-Fi connection if a data connection isn't available.
iMessage over cellular data might not be available while on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi on to use iMessage while on a call if your network doesn't support simultaneous data and voice calls.
    Restart your device.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
If you are still unable to send or receive an iMessage, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Verify that the contact you are attempting to send a message to is registered with iMessage.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and re-create the contact in the Contacts application. Create a new message to the newly created contact and try again.
Back up and restore your device as new.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

When I try to delete message threads on my iPhone 5, the message app won't work until I restart my phone. Once it restarts, the message threads that I tried to delete are still there. Any advice?

I recently spoke to someone from Apple support, and here's what I gathered:
"Older" phones (read: anything iPhone 4s or older?) sometimes have trouble keeping up with the processing demands of the newest software. When deleting threads with a lot of media (photos, videos, etc), it can take a lot of processing to successfully delete. What this support tech suggested was picking some of the bigger threads at night before you go to bed, deleting them, and then leaving the phone alone-- and plugged in-- overnight to give it enough time to delete everything. He suggested not even pressing the lock button; just leave it to process (though I imagine the screen will lock on its own anyway).
Not sure if it works yet since I just spoke to him, but it's the closest thing I've got to a solution!

    Hi 23672!
I have an article here that can definitely help you with that issue. The article is about what to do when a mail message has no content, and can be found here:
iOS 4: Unable to view message body preview or mail receives blank messages
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3426
Note that the article was written for iOS 4, but it will work in later iOS versions. Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!

  • "Command-i" which was so useful in being able to selectively delete messages from the servers no longer works. Is their a replacement? Will it be fixed? Or should I change my mail application?

"Command-i" which was so useful for selectively deleting messages from servers has disappeared in  Maverick. I wonder if it has been replaced by something else or should I look into other mail applications.

Hmmm.  Which Mail program are you referring to?
in Mac Mail command -i used to bring up the Account info pane on the server  (10.8.5)
Now it seems you have to use the gear at the bottom in "Mail Activity" to get the drop down (10.9) :

  • Mail: Zombie Messages (Deleted Messages Won't Stay Deleted)

I'm a new user of Mail and have run into a perplexing problem. Certain messages in my IMAP mailboxe come back from the dead. My account is only accessed by my MacBook and iPhone 3G (iOS 4.2.1), and only the Mail on the MacBook is experiencing this problem.
Mail is configured to keep deleted items on the server.
    Things I've tried:
    o Reset the envelope index
o Delete and recreate the account
o Upgrade my IMAP server from Cyrus 2.3.16 to 2.4.6
o Disable caching of message content on my MacBook
I haven't found any pattern for the length of time it takes for messages to revive. With message caching disabled, it seems to happen upon a restart of Mail, but I haven't had enough experience with this setting to be sure this happens 100% of the time.
I've used Cyrus on my home server for almost 10 years now and have never experienced this issue with Thunderbird (or previously Mulberry).
Any suggestions of other things to try?
    Thanks,
    Justin

Are you saying that keeping deleted items on the server (although it is the default when you create an IMAP account) is just broken? One of the main benefits of IMAP is that my mail state is the same and completely accessible from all of my computers and devices. Storing anything only on one client device, including deleted items, breaks that model.
I'll run the experiment to see if storing deleted messages locally to my macbook fixes Mail.app, but even if it does, this behavior will push me back onto Thunderbird.

  • I used to be able to delete an email from its notification alert message in Mavericks.  How can I do that in Yosemite?

I am otherwise enjoying Yosemite as an update, but being able to delete an email without having to go into the mail program was awesome.  Now it, instead of a delete button, it's a close button.  So its still there.  Any way to get these alerts to delete the email again?
    Please tell me there is.
Thanks in advance for your responses.
