Won't charge! iPod touch 8gb
Charged it all up one day, next day, i turn it on and the empty red battery sign came up flashing showing I need to plug it in to be charged. So I plug it in to be charged, battery picture stays on with the little lightning symbol below, meaning it's charging. I come back a couple hours later and it's the same picture! Now every time I try to turn it on, it shows an empty battery saying it needs to be charged!
I've tried plugging it in different places, to the wall, my computer, nothing! It says it's charging but it's not.
We are having the same issue. Thought maybe it was because the son had it in his pocket and sweating, but moisture indicator is perfectly white, plus at the time it quit working, it hasn't been in his sweaty pocket in over 24 hours. Was going to send it in, but even under warranty, they still want a lot of money, like half of what I originally paid for it!! At the moment, I am a very unhappy Apple customer. We've tried ALL of the troubleshooting that is listed online. Even put in in rice just in case there was moisture, nothing at all. Working fine one minute and then the next it was off and hasn't come on since then. I hestitate to get him another one for Christmas since they want you to pay even with a warranty, might as well say it has NO warranty.

Have an older model iPod touch 8gb w/camera that will not charge. I know it's not the cord or the device we are using to charge it because ithas been working to charge it before and it charges all our other ipod devices.
An example of what it does.The battery will show that it needs to be charged in the upper right corner, it'll be red. So we will plug the iPod in to charge. Even if it's plugged in all night long, it doesn't charge. The green battery icon that used to be on the screen when it was plugged in, no longer shows up. Also, the battery icon in the upper right corner doesn't change from red and doesn't show it's plugged in. I have tried to holdoing down the power and home button to reset the device. - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.

I have a 1st Generation iPod Touch (8GB) and it won't respond to anything. I tried restoring and resetting and charging. When I plug the iPod into my Mac (10.2 Macbook Pro) the iTunes (which is very up-to-date) won't even recgonize it. My computer doesn't even recognize it as a storage unit. I tried all of the USB ports and multiple cables but stil, nothing is happening. I can't even get the screen to turn on and display the apple.
What should I do? Is the battery dead or is my iPod completely dead?

1. Press-hold the Home button (big circle below the screen)and the Sleep/Wake button (on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
2. Continue holding both buttons (Ignore the"Slide to power off") until the iPhone shuts off and begins to restart.
3.You may let go when you see the silver Applelogo.

I tried to update to newest version via pc. I got error because i didn't have this recovery program disc that was supposed to come with the purchase so it says, but it didn't and now my ipod touch 8gb won't connect with itunes anymore and is stuck on a screen displaying an itunes icon with a usb icon.
oke i'm not done with the whole thing, but i'm doing that right now. Most of the advice I've already read didn't work and at a certain point it said something about shutting down programs then restart. but i notice that there are some pretty important system things in that list and i don't want to mess up my pc :s i'm not a pc genius... and because i'm dutch and my pc-language is in dutch I often have trouble translating and well... i don't always understand the technical stuff in all the articles -_-

Why won't my iPod Touch turn on anymore?
My iPod Touch (8GB, 2nd or 3rd gen.) won't turn on. It won't charge or enter recovery mode. It isn't jailbroken, and never got wet... it just simply stopped working. The computer doesn't respond at all when I plug it in.
I've tried everything I can think of, short of breaking the whole thing open. I'm out of ideas.
Anyone know how to fix this?Thanks, I checked that link and (after a little link-hopping) I found one thing I hadn't tried yet. Sadly, it still didn't work. Blue Screen when I plug my Ipod Touch 8GB(Late 2009)
My problem is when I plug my Ipod touch 8gb to my laptop(Acer Aspire 5632wlmi,intel core 2 duo processor T5200-1,60 GHz-533MHz L2 cache,1GBDDR 2,Up to 384MB NVIDIAGeForce GO7300 TurboCache,System: Microsoft XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3,all required updates are done),the windows system detects problem and windows shuts down to prevent damage to my computer,this error message appears in blue screen with the technical information of :

When the system goes down,I have to shut pc down from the power button and when I switch my laptop on I receive an error stating that "system has recovered from a serious error " which has signature of:

What I have done regarding to try to solve the problem ,but not worked at all:
1-I have uninstalled Itunes ultimate version(iTunes 9.0.3 for Windows XP,Vista or Windows 7) and other Apple related components on my Laptop(apple application support,Apple mobile device support,Apple Software Support,Quicktime etc.)
2- a-I re-installed all components mentioned on step 1 and plugged my Ipod: It works when I plug for first time,then I sync with my audio,art-work folders.Then I unplug my Ipod to listen music and see my Art-work,when I plug my Ipod for 2nd time to my Laptop,it crashes and that same blue screen error occurs.
b- I uninstalled all Apple components and plugged my Ipod to my Laptop,it charges the battery but no blue screen occurs.
3- I reset my Ipod and meanwhile uninstall all Apple components again(exactly like in 1st step) in my laptop,then I re-install all components to my laptop, and follow the same steps as exactly in 2nd step.I plug my Ipod and it works for first time,than I do sync through Itunes again,than I unplug and use my Ipod,when I plug for 2nd time than the same blue screen error appears and laptop crashes.
4- a- I reset my Ipod and Meanwhile uninstalled all Apple components,I re-installed iTunes 8.2.1 for Windows XP,Vista or Windows 7) but the same blue screen occurs.
b- I uninstall iTunes and plugged my Ipod to my laptop,no blue screen occurs.
5- I asked my colleague who has MacBook and plug my Ipod to her MacBook, than open Itunes,but Itunes(iTunes 9.0.3 for Mac OS x) can not see my Ipod as device and I am not able to do anything.
6- I've searched in Apple official websites and Google and many Blogger sites,Fan sites and all other possible technical sites but could not find any solution.
7- I've contacted(phone call) to the Local(Portugal) Support Apple Support Centre and explained all history of the problem clearly.But they could not help me,they advised the same possible solutions which I've already done and they said that they can not do more.And than they gave me a support mail address to contact.([email protected])
8- I've sent an email to [email protected], 2 days later they've answered me with the information that they are phone based support therefore they not provide me support.
Basically I am not able to import or export anything to/from my ipod,anyway all windows is going down.
It is first time I buy Apple product.My friends who have Apple products were generally positive about them,and I was thinking to by a MacBook as well,but after this problem I got doubts and I am not satisfied and happy at all. Since days I am trying to find solutions and find the exact support contacts to get helped with this problem.But could not reach any information. Now I don't have any positive Idea about Apple products or support service.I went to the Techno-Market which I bought the Ipod to change with an Iphone or at least try to have my money back if not possible to swap it with Iphone,but they've told me that it has been more than 15 days and they can not swap it or refund it,even if it was possible they would not refund it because the very sensitive backside of Ipod has some small but visible scratches.
Anyway I can see the difficulty of having Apple product,having support of product and finding the right contacts to communicate is not easy and I would really be very happy if anyone could change this idea of mine with helping me out to use my Ipod with peace and without any other problem.
As you can see,I spent a lot of money to buy it and spent days to find solution to my problem and spent a lot of energy to find right Apple Support contacts to help me with my problem.And I am not able to use my product as I wish.
Please advise me regarding to solve my problem. I hate to deal with courts and other legal ways to take action in those kind of cases. But if not of course it will be my last option to do it so.

Why won't my ipod touch gen 5 play audio on my Sony speaker dock
Why won't my ipod touch gen 5 play audio on my Sony RDP-X30iP speaker dock. I have bought a lightning adapter and find that there is no audio from the speaker dock and the dock does not charge the ipod.
- Reset the dock
- Go to Sony's support site and check to see if they say it will work with a 5G iPod touch (w/adopter).
Also look for a firmware update.
Sometimes this works:

- Reset all settings
