Won't come back on?
I have a 13" MacBook. Sometimes, when I turn off my laptop but leave it plugged in to charge... I'll leave and come back a little while later. The light on the magsafe plug is green, indicating a full charge.
But when I try to turn on my laptop, nothing happens. No hard drive start up noise, nothing.
Sometimes, unplugging the charger and plugging it back in will work. When the laptop starts up, the battery indicator shows 100% even after I unplug the charger.
Sometimes, it won't come on at all. In the past, I've resorted to taking out the battery and putting it back in. It'll start up after that.
The battery pack doesn't seem to have a sloppy fit or be loose at all.
Anyone have any ideas?
I have this problem too. Sorry, I have no idea how to resolve it but feel your pain. I made 'the switch' last year so I am still a newbie. This has been happening for awhile. I also suffer from freezes/lockups when I unplug the AC adapter, and when using the pb on battery power. It stinks. Talked to tech support and they had me clean out a bunch of stuff and run some repair utilities but to no avail. I love my PB vs. my pc but the freezing thing is really a bummer. No one seems to know what to do, and the threads I found on the topic discuss issues with added ram. Mine came factory installed. Sigh. Anyone have any wisdom for us they can share? Thanks.

When I push the start button I can hear the chime and then my sleep light blinks really fast and then shuts off completely. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Reinstalling OS X Without Erasing the Drive
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the main menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility and press the Continue button. After Disk Utility loads select the Macintosh HD entry from the the left side list. Click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If Disk Utility reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit Disk Utility and return to the main menu.
Reinstall OS X: Select Reinstall OS X and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X

My ipad keeps crashing and this time it won't come back on it just keeps telling me to connect to itunes which I did and it just keeps telling me it can't restore this ipad because an error has occured! Really need help please?
If it keeps coming up with an unknown error - no error code given - try another computer. If that doesn't work, it's time to take it to an Apple Store or an authorized service center to have the device evaluated.

well i was listening to music on my iphone and then it just stopped and now it won't come back on. i tried resetting it alot and nothing i mean nothing comes on! i tried recharging too and nothing and tried connecting it to itunes and nothing! Help? what can i do?

Have had a ton of issues with my Mac. Went to the apple store in march and they said my processor could be going bad and they basically did nothing. Yesterday I was using my computer put it to sleep. 10 minutes later I opened it up and it completely crashed. Drove 2 hours to get to apple because I am away at school and need my computer for finals. They replaced my hard drive and it was working perfectly fine till today. Now it turns on and works and then shuts off and it won't come back on till I plug it in. It's completely charged and I need it for my classes. I have apple care but I can't keep driving back to apple every day. I have a apple appointment tomorrow but this is ridiculous. Has anyone had any of these issues? What's it going to take for them to replace my computer I can't even live a day without it right now. And by the way. I could not even get any of my data off my old hard drive. So basically nothing is on this computer right now.

Let them know how this is inconveniencing you. For a replacement, I believe Apples general rule of thumb is if it comes in for the 3rd time for the same issue they will replace it, but it may vary by store. It cant hurt to ask for a replacement. -

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Why won't my g4 desktop come on. I was trying to boot in safe mode and it would not go in safe mode. It won't come back on anymore. Can some tell me what to do.
Try Single User mode (Command+S while starting up).
Then, run fsck.
At the command-line prompt type:
/sbin/fsck -fy
Press Return. fsck will go through five "phases" and then return information about your disk's use and fragmentation. Once it finishes, it'll display this message if no issue is found:

All account have all gone off line and won't come back.
my aol, g-mail, and moblie me accounts have all gone off line and won't come back. It started with AOL the spining wheel first and then the triange. I can get the mail with safari with no problem. any ideas?

My one day old MacBook pro just turned off and it won't come back on either through mains or battery power it's as if the unit is completely dead. Even with the mains plugged in there is no green or orange light to say its charging or full charged. The battery was fully charged anyway seconds before the screen went off.
When you say no green or orange light are you refering to the little led on the magsafe connector? That could mean either the charger/cable are bad or the circuitry in the MBP is faulty. Since this is a brand new MBP best bet is to take it back to an Apple Retail store and have the genius bar staff take a look. They can determine if it needs to be reparired or replaced.

My IMac 21.5 mid 2010's HD is going bad on it, after upgrading to mavericks it slowed way down and after it shut off and now won't come back on, I call apple support and they told me to bring it in but the nearest store is about two hours away. They said I need it to erase my hard drive but I have too many family pics on it.
would Seagate Barracuda ST2000DM001 2TB Serial ATA Hard Drive - 7200RPM, 64MB, SATA 6Gb/s worked on it? I could replace the internal and get an enclosure for the original until I get the pics out of it?
Please advise, it's like five years of family pics I don't wanna loose them and I am worried.

I really apprecate your very quick respond, Its too late to back up as of now, my hard drive wont load at all so I cannot follow your instruction to back it up. Learn a hard lesson but I will from now on following your link.
Also my hard drive it is not available to do the free exchange program.
I read the OWC instruction on how to replace the drive I was just wondering if the 2TB would work on it instead of the 1 TB they offer, I specifically asked for the Seage Barracuda because I had great experiences with it on PCs.

Try holding the home and sleep buttons for as long as a minute. Try it a few times.
Are you sure it's plugged into a good outlet using a good charger and cable?
Else, take it in to Apple and let them look at it... you have a 1 year warranty. -

Welcome to the Forums.
The flickering issue maybe due to a bad LCD cable or in some cases, a faulty GPU (the GPU is integrated to the CPU, and the CPU is soldered to the motherboard).
If there's still no image on the screen even after connecting an external display then you likely have a bad GPU.
In this case, I recommend you contact support for service (and also to see if there's a consideration that can be done on the warranty repair).
