Won't configure my Gmail account says password or login wrong

I'm trying to install Thunderbird. It keeps telling me "Configuration Cannot Be Verified" My email and password are correct. I am using POP
On the Blog and News Feed, it shows it has contacted my account but nothing is happening.
I tried this yesterday and got the same thing. I did go to Gmail and change my account to POP but that made no difference.
What is the problem? I'm using Mavericks 10.9.4

Why do people give answers that lead nowhere and waste other peoples effort and time??? Here we are supposed to help each other, with solutions that we have tried and seen that they WORK.
The problem here is that google needs a '''new''' password in order to allow various clients apps to operate. So, if you get an application specific password from here,

Using the mail configuration manager one of the choices is GMAIL, Using this way I did not.
I use an other way using MICROSOFT EXCHANGE opcion using like server m.google.com, It´s works but rudimentary.

Suddenly Mail won't sync my gmail accounts

Im using OS X Lion 10.7.5 and since yesterday both my gmail accounts won't sync or download on Mail ?!!
Ive tried taking them off and putting them back on, Ive tried changing the password on one, it won't work. It won't work on my iPhone either. Ive had to use gmail website online to check my mail. Any suggestions please help a sister out !

that's a different issue. you said before that it didn't like the password. what it actually doesn't like is the number of simultaneous connections. quit Mail on all other computers/phones you use to access gmail and try setting it up in Mail on this computer again.

Ical won't sync with gmail account

I'm trying to set up my wife's iCal to sync with her gmail calender. We both just got brand new macbook pros and mine had no problems sync my mail, calendar, chat and address book.
Yet when she tries to sync her computer with her gmail account it will only work with mail and address book and chat. When it tries to sync her calendar with iCal it says that "A secure connection couldn't be established" and won't sync her calendar at all.
Anyone have a solution?

I have this problem too, start with verifing your email. go through the google help/support page, there you will get a link to verify your account on your iPhone.

Emails won't delete in Gmail Account when I delete them on iPhone 5

I have recently upgraded to an iPhone 5, I previously had an iPhone 3G. On my old iPhone when I actioned anything in mail such as deleting an email or moving it to a folder when I logged into my PC onto my Gmail account the action had also happened there. It is now very frustrating that I move a lot of emails to the bin on my iPhone 5 but then when I get home to my PC and open my Gmail account all those emails are still sitting in the Inbox as unread. My Gmail account settings are set to IMAP. Can someone guide me through what I need to do to have both my iPhone 5 and gmail account sync actions?

She should restore the ipad to factory settings and then set up with her own apple id.

When I use gmail for POP my iPhone grabs all the mail from my entire account. How do I get it to only grab what is new/in my inbox?

i synched all my gmail accounts will nilly from itunes. then today i noticed the problem. so, i deleted the accounts, went into gmail and made that very change. then i tried both 1) letting the itunes interface resync my email and 2) deleting the accounts and setting it up from within the phone.
both times resulted in the hugely full mailbox.
any thoughts? did i do something wrong?

I have had my iPad for almost a year but now it's acting up! Everytime I try to download or update an app, a message pops up to sign in but then says I have wrong pin for debit card.. I know it's right bc it's the same card I've been using all year! I've tried restarting, changing cards, clearing up memory,nothing works!! Has anyone else had this problem and How do I fix it??!!

Sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>Store>Sign in again.
Maybe refreshing your ID and iTunes account on the iPad will help.

HT2515 Dosent recognize my account or password at login on iChat

I am trying to login to my iChat acct on my MacBook and it does not recognize my password or username is incorrect. I reset password a few times still no luck. Then I cancelled the account and opened a new one with (Mac.com and aol.com) success but when I try to open on my iChat feature on MacBook still comes up password or username incorrect. So I tried resetting password very carefully with no success, same problem. Can anyone help please?

A little more detail on the name would help and also the iChat version number.
For Instance.
Apple IDs issued under iCloud (@Me.com or @icloud ending names) will not work in iChat 5 or lower
This is because the checks iChat 6 and Messages make require the app to be logged in to Apple as well as AIM to then be allowed to "read" the password.
In All cases (Includes @mac.com names) the password on Apple IDs that work as AIM Screen Names have to obey the AIM limit of 16 characters.

No, You can't login with gmail account on Lync 2010. but You can deploy federation between Lync Server and Google Talk so that you can IM with Gmail account.

If you want to download the emails from the server to local and don't need local actions to be reflected to the server, POP is your choice. If you want to keep everything on local and on server synchronized, let's use IMAP.
