Won't connect to Store

I attempted to watch Netflix tonight and got the message that it Netflix was unavailable.  So I googled that and found a post on this forum to log out of iTunes and then log back in.  Now I can't log in.  I enter (carefully my iTunes PW) and it replies it can't connect to iTunes?  Any ideas?

Ok so i fixed my connection issue.
I use Mozilla mainly, so i didnt even think to check IE.
I sometime work from home and have to manaully edit my proxy server, well for some INANE reason, Itunes uses that to connect to the store.
Try checking you options in IE.
Open IE, then tools>options>connections>Lan Settings
There should be no check marks in any of the boxes. If there are make note of them and remove them and test ITunes.
If that didnt fix it, make sure to change the selections back
Hope that helps someone else

    Hi,
What security software is running on the PC? The security software could be causing the issue, try to reconfigure or temporarily disable it.
You can also try flushing the DNS as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1527

  • ITunes won't connect to store Macbook 2, 1

I have a late 2007 Macbook 2,1 that won't connect to the iTunes store or the App Store through wifi.  It will work fine if it is connect with the ethernet cable.  I've tried this on many different wifi networks and it has the same problem.  I'm running Mac OSX 10.7.5 and iTune 11.0.2.  It actually has never worked on previous versions of iTunes as well.  Anyone know how to fix this?

Ok, I figured it out.  It was a problem with my proxy settings.  Go to System Preferences> Network> Click on Advanced.  Then click on the proxies tab.  Then make sure only Automatic Proxy Configuration is checked.
That's how I was able to fix the problem.

    Hi,
I am unable to connect to the store on iTunes 10.6.7.1 on Win7 64 bit.  From my iPhone I can connect to the store.  Any thoughts?

Could you walk us through what happens (when you attempt to connect to the store on the PC) in some more detail, please?

  • Itunes won't connect to store, or stream music after 10.5 update

I downloaded and ran the Itunes 10.5 executable to update to the latest version
When I start Itunes I get an error message that Itunes could not connect to the ITunes Store. The network connection timed out.
I ran the diagnostics, and a secure link to the store failed, though the internet connection was verified. When I tried to open the help file, it said that Itunes Help is unavailable because your computer isn't connect to the internet.
Edit: Itunes will no longer play any music streams

I am having a similar problem. I have two alienware laptops. One is brand new and the other is a few years old. The old one has been updated to windows 7 32 and the new iTunes works fine with it. The new one is the 64 bit and iTunes store and safari no longer work on it. When I try to acces the iTunes store it goes into turbo (overclock) mode and after a minute just displays a white page for iTunes store. When I ran diagnostics it says everything is working properly. Safari does the same thing. Turbo and a white page. I have been trying to fix this all day with out any success. I even completely restored the computer to see if that would help. I hope someone can figure this out before I have a melt down

  • ITunes 10.5 won't connect to store, can't download songs on IPhone 4

I have an IPhone 4 and tried to download some songs from ITunes on my phone.  I received a message that I can't download songs unless I upgrade the iOS.  Went to upgrade and received message I had to upgrade to ITunes 10.5.  Did this, however now I can't connect to the store.  I receive a message stating that the network cannot connect and to check my settings.  I have followed everything on here, uninstalled, reinstalled, Microsoft Fixit, run as administrator, firewalls, proxy server, even removed my antivirus, nothing works.  Very frustrated and not sure what else to try???

this happened to me before but it fixed itself when i updated my software.

I had this same problem so Im sure you've already gone through the typical change firewall settings, flush the cache, etc. Here is the only other option that I found, and it worked. Using internet explorer I went to tools> internet options> advanced> reset. Good luck!

  • ITunes 9.2.1 won't connect to store any longer?

A certain expensive, work-necessary software that I use is keeping me from upgrading my laptop past OS 10.4.11 — just can't spend an extra $1000 right now for a work thing! Does this really mean that now I can't connect to the iTunes Store any longer, or even download my subscription TV shows (my Mad Men is waiting from last Sunday!). Ever since the iTunes 10 release, all I get is the error message, "iTunes cannot connect to the iTunes store at this time." For days.
Really? I must be something wrong, no?

Have exactly the same issue, old laptop stolen, bought new laptop,
imported account from time machine, library is invisible, at the botom of each section it tells you the number of films, tracks pod csts etc but there is no content.
If you look in the iTunes folder content is there... however there seems to be no upgrade file so maybe the iTunes library was not upgraded and iTUnes thinks it was....

  • ITunes won't connect to store in Windows 7

When I try to get to the store, I get a message that reads:
Make sure your network connection is active and try again.
I made sure that I ran this as administrator and it still does it.
I don't know if this helps, but I can't get into other online games I have as well. This is a new laptop with Windows 7. I turned off the firewall for testing and I still can't connect to anything.
I read that iTunes goes through Internet Explorer to connect and to make sure that we aren't using a Proxy Server. I did this and we are set to automatically detect settings. It still didn't connect.
It was then that I found out that other online games aren't connecting that I have. I'm not sure what to do and would appreciate anything.

This is the exact same thing that I am having an issue with. Checked all my settings and preferences. I am logged in as the Admin. I have been searching and searching for a solution. I dont have this issue on any other computer so I am sure it is related to Windows 7.
    Grrrr.....
