I just downloaded Adobes DNG Converter and when I try to convert NEF files from my D300 I get "There was an error parsing the file" Does anyone know what this means???

That error message usually points to a damaged file.

Hi there
As menetioned above, Acrobat XI Pro Won't Convert my 206 Page Word Document into a PDF. The Word document was originally a PDF file that I converted to Word and it has split all the text into sections.
It sounds like converting a PDF into Word isn't the best way to edit, re-format and then save as a PDF again. I would love to hear your advice on this.

First before you recreate the PDF from the Word Document.
In word: Open Document
Next open a new Blank docment
switch back to Word click on the ¶ button
scroll to of go to very end of docment.
click just to right of the perion in the last sentence.
now go to very beginning of document
Hold down the Shift and click to the right of first letter in document.
Now choose copy.
Now switch to Blank document
Choose Paste special.
Now choose Text only.
If works all the words will be there spaced correct but with no ¶'s.
Now insert returns as desired.
Now save as a docx file under a different name.
IF you are on a Mac use the following directions:
go to File menu > Print > PDF Hold down PDF button until Context menu pops up.
Choose adobe PDF.
follow steps when the first window opens.
Save as PDF in desired location.
Now open the PDF in Acrobat. Document should be properly formatted and ready to go.
AS you've found The conversion is not seamless. Acrobat doesn't distingish between automatic end of line breaks and Returns and you have to put the pieces back again. I wish Adobe and MS would get over the jealouscy of each other and share howcode works so Thatapplications could work seamlessly together. BUt they never will.

Adobe Reader never converted Publisher files to PDF, for free, never. I suspect you use to have the (paid for) Adobe Acrobat. Sometimes people have Acrobat (more than $300 worth) and install Adobe Reader over the top, losing that valuable software.
That said, if you subscribed to PDF Pack it should do this conversion. What exactly happens now.

Flash won't import mp4 from Camtasia, demands an FLV; Media encoder won't convert to FLV; H264 isn't accepted either.

Flash won't accept the basic mp4 output from Camtasia, it tells me to use Media Encoder to convert it to FLV.
Media Encoder won't convert to F4V or FLV.
I used Media Encoder to convert to H264, but Flash will still not import it.
Could somebody please tell me the best export / convert / import options for getting Camtasia video into Flash (as an embedded video - can't do streaming).
Any tips much appreciated.
Flash Pro CC 2014 and Camtasia Studio 8.4.4.

How are you trying to convert?
Are you using the File-Print function, and selecting the Acrobat printer?

Imported files won't convert

I'm trying to import some of my own audio files (mp3 and wav formats) but when I do so they supposedly 'import' but won't convert and drop into the timeline. Other files (such as those I've downloaded from iTunes) work fine. I need some ideas about what' wrong with my files. Thanks.

After iTunes 11.1.3 & Mavericks - Music Library won't convert

I upgraded to Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.3 and now my iTunes library won't convert to the new format. It runs for about an hour (5+K songs, MAC Mini) and then fails. It did it twice. My music is still intact and plays perfectly with VLC, etc. How do I get a fresh start on the iTunes library. It's located on an external USB drive if that makes any difference.

If they will play but will not convert, you probably have DRM "protected" files. Were they purchased prior to mid-2009?
If so, and you don't want to burn, your choice is either to replace them, or to upgrade them by using Match. For the latter option, see

QuickTime Movie Files Won't Convert For iPod using iTunes and QuickTime Pro

I've got a ton, and I mean a ton of QuickTime movie files of music videos that I want to convert to use on the iPod. I tried using "Convert Selection For iPod" in the Advanced Menu on iTunes, but got the following message trying convert a QuickTime file of U2's Beautiful Day:
""Beautiful Day" could not be converted because this file does not allow for saving or conversion."
I purchased QuickTime Pro hoping that the features on Pro would convert the file. When I opened the same file to convert using QuickTime Pro, "Export" under the file menu was grayed out so I couldn't select it.
You'd think that an APPLE QuickTime Movie file that can be played on APPLE'S iTunes and APPLE'S QuickTime Player would be able to be converted to be used in APPLE'S iPod player. (Anybody notice how APPLE is capitalized to point out that the the hardware, software and file formats are ALL Apple?)
Instead I wasted money buying QuickTime Pro when it won't do what I specifically bought it for. Now I have all these QuickTime files which won't play on the iPod.

If the file doesn't allow saving or conversions then it is protected by DRM (Fairplay).
Nothing can help QuickTime Pro convert protected files.

Automator won't convert pdf to word

I found directions on-line for converting a pdf file to a Word document, followed the directions precisely, using the Automator application. It all seemed to go according to the directions, except that when I opened the rich-text document, there was nothing in it. What do I need to do to fix the problem? Here are the directions that I used:

In an open Finder window, select"Applications" in your window Side Bar and scroll down to theAutomator application.Double-click the "Automator" application to launch it.

Select "Custom" in the upper-left corner ofthe new "Automator" window that opens, and then click"Choose" in the lower-right corner to begin constructing your"Automator" PDF-to-text application.

In the new "Automator" window, click"PDFs" in the first column under Actions, and then double-click"Extract PDF Text" in the second column. A new option dialogue boxwill open to the right of the columns. Click the "Rich Text" radiobutton. Not all PDFs contain text. Some contain only images of text. (I receive a few newsletters in this format.)
Quick test. Open your PDF in Preview. Can you select a few words by highlighting them? If so, there's text that you can extract; if not, it's an image and that Automator workflow won't help you.

It sounds as though the PDF file that you're trying to convert has been password protected. Without removing that password (which requires Acrobat, and knowing the password), you won't be able to convert the file via ExportPDF.

Bridge CS4 won't convert my CR2 RAW pics from my new Canon 7D

I think I did everything right and Bridge stil will not convert CR2 to DNG. In effect I can't use any RAW files in Bridge and they won't open in Camera RAW. Can any one help me?

DNG won't convert my .cr2 photos

I use a Canon Xsi and because Aperture 2 won't accept my raw photos (this seems to be a near-universal problem) I needed to use DNG, but then even DNG won't read accept them. I get the message "The source folder does not contain any supported camera raw files." I'm using DNG 5.3 and all of the files in the folder are .cr2. Any ideas?

I'm not very familiar with the Canon models, but it appears that your camera was supported prior to version 5.4. Are you trying to convert raw images or are they sRaw? Try converting regular raw images and see if that solves the problem. Otherwise, hopefully someone else will have a better idea.

Pdf file won't convert to word.doc but gives me no error code to fix it

I'm using ExportPDF and when I try to access a file to convert from pdf to word document, it won't allow but doesn't give me an error code so I can find out why it won't open.

Won't Convert Certain Songs to 192kbps

I have a lot of music so I have to convert it all to 192kbps so it will all fit on my iPhone. The problem is that iTunes says it can't convert 4 of my songs, which is strange as it has converted them before. These are songs off of iTunes so I don't understand why they can't be converted and if iTunes can't convert the songs, it removes them from my iPhone and won't put them on so I have to use the iTunes app to re-download them every time I sync my iPhone and it's hassle. What's wrong and how do I fix it? I would really appreciate it if you can help. Thanks.
