Won't Display in Landscape view

My IPhone 3GS with 4.1 is doesn't flip to the landscape view in any program. ***? Is there a settings in settings that I need to turn on.

Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears restore the iPhone software.

I had the same problem but it wasn't because the orientation was locked .
Mine was some kind of glitch that was resolved by holding down the home key and the button on top until the white Apple appeared on the screen .

IPad won't switch to landscape view

I updated my software on my iPad and now it won't switch to landscape view and it is not locked. I have restarted it and cleared my memory and checked every setting that I can think of. What now?

By restart do you mean a reset ? If there isn't a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator then try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
Is there is a lock symbol then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. Numbers app won't switch to landscape view - ipod touch

The numbers app does not seem to be able to switch to landscape view on the ipod touch.
Is there someway to get it to run in horizontal mode?

It seems like it ought to be, I'm very dissapointed that this app won't do this.

DW8: image won't display in Design View

Folks:
DW8 on MacOS 10.4.8 (fully updated) on Intel iMac.
What would keep an image from displaying in DW Design View?
What are the causes of the grey box with the superimposed "X"? Is
there any diagnostic output that might help? Is the grey box and
"X" substituted by DW8 for an invalid or un-drawable graphic, or is
this done by the OS?
The problem:
I've got a 1912 x 1481 graphic, a geographic map, in AI that
I'm trying to use as an ordinary web image, but DW won't display it
in Design View. Instead all I see is a big grey box and "X". For
test purposes, I'm starting from a new "Basic" HTML web page and
all I'm doing is inserting this one image. I need to get this
working so I can draw hotspots on this graphic to make it
"clickable" .
Here's what I've tried:
o Triple-checking that the inserted image reference is
correct. Yes, the image file is correctly linked. With the image
selected, the inspector shows a tiny but recognizable miniature of
the expected image. Further, when the page and the image are
uploaded to the web server and I look at it via a browser, the
expected image is _always correctly displayed.
o Exporting the graphic "for the web" from AI as both a GIF
and a medium-quality JPG. Neither of these are displayed in Design
View; both are served up correctly after being uploaded
o I found a larger JPG on a different site I'm managing. This
always displays as expected in both DW Design View and when served
up. I substituted the failing map JPG image. The result: A grey
box.
o Checking the map images: The JPG and GIF versions seem to
be visible in all environments (image readers, browsers, etc.) I've
checked _except_ DW8 Design View.
o Checked on another system. I made the failing image
available to a very helpful ACE, who performed a similar
experiment. It worked fine for him. I used his exact HTML and
directory structure -- and it failed for me. Grey box with "X".
It seems to me that I've checked most of the obvious
possibilities. Now it is time to check the less obvious ones.
Suggestions are very welcome!

Thanks for your response.
This is a virtual memory system, so -- in theory-- it should
accommodate anything that will fit on the hard drive, more or less,
if I'm wiling to wait the hours (days?) it will take to swap on and
off the disk. That assumes DW8 takes advantage of the capability.
It may not.
"Larger"? The JPG image I compared to is 1692 x 2160 pixels,
but weighs slightly less, 289K bytes. I'm losing track of all my
test images that fail, but a representative one is 1912 x 1481
pixels and weighs 332Kb on the disk. "Roughly comparable" might be
a better description. The point is still reasonable: DW8 does
handle images of this size on my system.
One issue that occurred to me recently is that I may have
caused some grief by monkeying with the "Save for web" settings at
the Illy export. Perhaps I asked for some configuration that's
normal for Illy to export --or it would have warned me, I hope--
but too strange for DW to grok. DW should complain more
informatively than painting a gray box and "X" when that happens, I
would think.

IPod won't go in landscape view

Hi. I have an old 3rd generation iPod Touch that's going on 2 years and has definitely been loved. It now seems however that it can't go into landscape view when turned over. When certain apps or videos play, it works fine, but when I try to go into cover album scroll or something it doesn't work. Suggestions?

Is there a lock icon in the top right corner? That would indicate your problem.
Just the same, try double tapping the home button, and slide to the right once.
There should be a lock and arrow icon, that will lock or unlock your orientation.
That should be the answer to your problem.

IPHONE 5 won't go into landscape view.. portrait lock off

My phone will not go into landscape view at all for any app(messenger , safari, camera, etc.), portrait lock is off and have reset phone several times. Anyone have a fix for this?

Ok so I tried the compass app and completed the roll to calibrate the circle but theirs a second leveling test that's weird. Do I leave the phone in spot? Or am I suppose to keep moving the phone? Confused am I....

Let's get this resolved KRetz! Once you press your menu button twice quickly you will see your recently used applications at the bottom of the screen. Drag the screen to the right and look for the the Portrait Orientation Symbol and ensure the lock icon is not preset. You can remove the lock icon by tapping the Orientation Symbol. DW8 templates won't display in Live View

I have several sites that I've developed around templates
distributed with Dreamweaver 8. When I access these with
Dreamweaver CS4, everything works well in code and design view, but
java script and images don't seem to display correctly in Live
View. Live View seems to work fine with newly created pages in DW
CS4, but my existing sites will not display. Anybody run into this?
DW CS4 on a iMac (2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo) running under
10.5.5.

relativity extension. works in current versions of dw AFAIK.
Note- if you set up a local testing server and use site root
relative paths,
you will need to set up a "virtual host name" in your
server's config file
and possibly the Hosts file of your OS so that you can use a
url of
http://mysite.local
instead of
http://localhost/mysite/
because site root relative won't work when the
site is in a subfolder, the way dw will write them.

Event won't display in Month View

I put in an event lasting x days and it will display happily in day and week views but not month. Any ideas anyone?

The way this is implemented by iCal is a choice of the developer. You can send comments about iCal to Apple through this page http://www.apple.com/macosx/feedback/ .
Alternatively, you could make the events into all day events. They would then show on all the dates in month view.

Song name won't display in grid view

I have long had a problem whereby the song-name column was missing when viewing a single album from the grid view. There is an archived, unanswered question on the very same question here: http://discussions.info.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1818126
I have never as yet found a conclusive answer to this problem, and I've watched several new versions of the software come and go with no fix.
Well, for the benefit of those still suffering that problem, I'm here to tell you today that I have a conclusive fix!

For everyone else, let me tell you unequivocally that it's NOT (directly) a problem with the software. It basically seems to be down to library corruption of some sort. I know it sounds strange that an entire column could go missing due to data, but I have proven it as follows:
I created a new test account on my Mac, opened up iTunes and started to import my music from my main account. After a few albums had imported, I cancelled the import and looked at the library - fine. Then, I completely uninstalled iTunes from my main account and reinstalled a fresh copy. This did not solve the problem, but it proved that even with fresh software, the problem persisted and the previous test showed that the software was fine with a fresh user.
So, next I tried to rebuild my library, and that's what worked. Basically, you need to delete your itunes library xml file and the (compiled?) itunes library file (.itl) BUT DO NOT delete the iTunes Music Library.xml file... this is the key to it all...... you're gonna use that file to import the whole library as a playlist so you're not starting from scratch.

I have long had this problem, but before I do this... am I going to lose any data from my music library (ratings, playlists, play counts, custom artwork, etc.) if I follow these steps carefully? I have a large library and it won't be worth having to re-enter/lose a bunch of things just to retrieve this column.

Title slide won't display in full view

I put a title slide in my project and can see the title and it's effect in viewer, but it won't show up when I try to preview in full screen. What am I doing wrong? Thanks for any help!

Pages won't display in live view or browsers

Yesterday they displayed. Today they do not. Tried looking at one of the Adobe templates - that displays fine. Checked code at top of page, it is exactly same as code for Adobe template that displays. Any ideas.

I am actually embarrassed to respond. For some reason do not display was checked on my body div. I am posting two other questions tho.
(1) I have a website with photos interspersed with the copy. I would like to be able to find a way to overlay the photos with a floating div that would allow me to put captions in. No luck so far.
(2) CSS. There is clearly something I don't get. I thought once you wrote a rule you could click on the content anywhere in the paragraph and it would change. Not working for me. Specifically I wrote some css to style photographs but when I check on the images and then the css nothing happens.

When taking a picture in landscspe view the picture keeps being saved in portrait view. Is the a setting I am missing?

Do you have portrait orientation lock engaged (small lock icon with circular arrow surrounding, next to battery icon at top of screen)?
