Won't download songs automatically!
The ipod is not showing up on itunes have kept on plugging the usb in and out for a couple of times now but i got nothing please help!!!!

First reset the ipod by holding the center and menu button for 6 to 10 seconds on a ipod and nano.

whenever i connect my ipod, it charges, but it won't load songs i recently added! what do i do????????Check your update settings. Connect your iPod and click on it's icon in the iTunes source list (the narrow pane on the left). This will bring up the preferences tabs in the main pane on the right. The first tab you'll see is Summary, look for "manually manage songs and videos", if there is a check mark there then the iPod is set to update manually and you have to drag songs from the iTunes library to the iPod to load them on. If you want to update automatically you need to remove the check mark from there (I would also remove the "enable disk use" check mark unless you want to use the iPod as a removable storage device) and click the Apply button in the right hand corner:

I just got a new computer, and I downloaded the Pantera itunes essentials, but they won't go on my ipod. How do I fix this? Thanks.
Also I have some Maiden and Priest songs on my ipod that aren't on the new itunes, how do I get them on there? Syncing doesn't work.OK, your seem to have a more basic problem. The touch and iTunes communicate via a piece of software called the Apple Mobile Device Services. It sounds like this is either not loading or is disabled on your computer. I recently downloaded the new iTunes, and since then my iCloud won't let me download any music off of it. The message, "You can download past purchases on this computer with just one Apple ID every 90 days. You cannot associate this computer with a different Apple ID for 58 days." pops up on the screen whenever I try to download off of the Cloud. On a different account on my computer, my brother has a different Apple ID, and I was wondering if that was why I can't download? Please tell me what I can do to fix this if you know!

iCloud has nothing to do with iTunes.
You can only use one iTunes account for redownloading content or iTunes Match on a computer and once you have used an account for that, you can't change it for 90 days.
You will just need to wait. -
My iPod won't download songs from my laptop
When I purchase albums from the iTunes store on my MacBookPro and sync my iPod, it won't down load the albums.
Joy - I had this same issue. You didn't mention whether or not you've recently updated to iTunes 5, and updated your iPod. What happened to me is that after I updated to iTunes 5, the system required that I update my iPod as well to version2.3. The iPod update 2005-09-06, though, apparently has a bug of some sort, and will not update properly. (others have had this issue) If you go back and get update 2005-06-25 and install that, it may fix your problem. Mine cleared up immediately once I did this.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of steps 1 and 2. -
I bought a song off of the itunes store on my iphone but it wont play. I even tried to repurchase it but it says that I already purchased it. I have restarted my phone and turned it off but it still won't download or play. HELP!
Depending upon what country that you are in (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) then try deleting that track from your phone and re-download it via the Purchased tab in the iTunes store app on it, or the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes.
If you aren't in a country where you can re-download music or if it re-downloads in the same state then try the 'report a problem' link from your purchase history : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option and you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it ; click on that and you should see a list of your purchases ; find that song and use the 'Report a Problem' link and fill in details about the problem (iTunes support should reply within, I think, about 24 hours).
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work (it's been taking some people to this site on a browser instead of showing a form in iTunes) then you can try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/- click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page. -
I have an iPhone and recently bought an iPod 4 touch what l am using the same apple ID for. The iPod won't let me download songs from iTunes it is asking me security questions which I don't think I have put answers to in the first place, because of this it won't let me buy any songs on iTunes
It's probably asking you to verify the security code found on the back of your credit card.

I was trying to sync my itouch with my new mac, and some songs won't download because they are not authorized for this computer. But even after my computer was authorized they still won't sync. How do I fix this?
I have the same problem. It is only with tv shows and only with programs I have downloaded after the software update.
Apple support sent me the above link too....but it doesn't solve the problem...my computer is authorized and the content is in my library and will play on my Mac air, but it will not sync the tv shows, it keeps saying my computer isn't authorized for it.

My songs from iTunes won't download. I recently just purchased 7 songs and they took my money but now the songs won't download to my phone. I have gone to the download screen on the iTunes app and under each song it says "download error. Tap to retry". When I tap to retry a song a message pops up saying "this song could not be downloaded at this time." And it gives me two options. Either done or retry. I have tried to download them many times. I signed out and signed back in on iTunes, restarted my phone, and even checked for any updates. Nothing seems to be working. They charged the money from my card but now my songs won't download. What do I do?

I would be concerned too if the songs I purchased from iTunes were not downloading to my iPhone. You have taken some great troubleshooting steps already, and thank you for providing the details of the steps you too. I have a few additional suggestions to get it downloaded to your iPhone.
First, I recommend checking to see if the download was interrupted:
If your download was interrupted using your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
From the Home screen, tap the iTunes app.
For iPhone or iPod touch, tap More > Downloads. For iPad, tap Downloads.
Enter your account name and password if prompted.
Tap the blue download arrow to resume.

If the songs still do not download, next I recommend downloading the songs when connected to another network. For example, if you are using the cellular network, you could switch to Wi-Fi, or you could try an alternate Wi-Fi network.
