Won't finish install

I tried to install the upgrade but it apparently never finished the install. When I open Firefox, I get a blank white screen with no menues or toolbars. It won't let me uninstall Firefox because it says it needs to reboot to finish the install. But I have rebooted several times and it won't finish the install. I get the same thing if I try to install the upgrade again.

SpyCatcher has been linked to this problem. Even though you may not have SpyCatcher installed now, if any of its files are left behind you will experience the problem. If SpyCatcher is installed, shutting it off first is not enough. You may find this user's experience helpful.

  • Ipod touch 4g won't finish installing a few apps

I have an ipod touch 4th generation, 64gb -- works great except I recently downloaded/installed a few apps (through the app store on the device)... Most of them installed just fine... But I still have a few that won't finish installing... The status bar looks like its at or very near 100%. They just won't finish...
I have tried turning the wifi off and back on.
I've tried logging out of app store and back in (on the device).
I have tried syncing with my computer. I've also looked for updates through itunes (on my computer) and performed a backup successfully.
None of those things have fixed my problem.
I can play games, access the internet, use other apps, heck even move the unfinished installed apps around on the screen. They just won't finish installing nor are they deletable.
I won't reboot my ipod because in the past when I have had this it put the ipod into a endless boot loop (brick mode) and need to restore to get out of it.
    Suggestions? Thanks!

  • Photoshop Elements 12 Won't Finish Installing

I have had Elements 12 running previously on my machine. I have just upgraded the hard drive and am in the process of reinstalling. My version is an upgrade to V11. This installed correctly and is running. Whenever I try to install V12 it gets right to the end and install an icon on the desktop and then just runs. I have left it for 3 hours and it still won't finish the installation. Any help please?
    Thanks

Try installing from a different source by using the link below for the free trial. After installation you can validate the product with your serial number. Some users find this download method more intuitive than the Akamai method or using a DVD. After you click the download button, you start by downloading/updating the Adobe Download Assistant. Then select the PSE12 product and start download and installation.

  • Reset to factory, won't finish installing windows updates

My computer has been running really slow, so I decided to reset the computer to factory. After resetting I went to find updates to reinstall, and it says it has updates that need to finish installing by restarting my computer. However I've restarted my computer numerous times and yet it hasn't bothered to install my updates (keeps saying I need to restart it still). What do I do?

For Dlblady, there's a question for you:
Are you having slow connection to download iOS 6.1.3?
    If fast, try download again.
In future still the same, try iTunes to download update instead.
    1. Connect to your Mac or PC to iTunes.
    2. Click iPhone/iPod/iPad.
    3. Click Check for Updates.
    4. Click Download and Update.
    5. Wait until finish.

  • CS5 Master Suite disc 2 won't finish installing. Help!

I have an iMac running OS X v. 10.6.8. I am trying to install Adobe Master Suite CS5. The first disc had a little trouble being read at first. It would self eject after a few moments. Then on the third attempt it worked just fine. It finished its part of the installation then the Adobe Application Manager said, "Please insert Disk CS5 Master Collection Disc 2 to continue." I put the disc in, then it self ejects after the computer attempts to read it. I've tried this about 20 times hoping it was just a glitch like on the first disc. It still won't work. In order to make sure it wasn't my DVD reader in the iMac, I played a DVD movie. The movie worked perfectly.
My only conclusion at this point is that there must be something wrong with the disc. Please help me figure this out. I have a few days off of work and I want to transfer all my photos and work into the new software while I'm off. Any help is very much appreciated.
    Thank you!

Also, I found the CS5 trial download at http://prodesigntools.com/cs5-free-trial-downloads-now-available.html. However, everytime I click on the link for the master collection it says that there was an error processing the request.

  • Adobe reader and flash won't finish installing

''locking this thread as duplicate, please continue at [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1024944 /questions/1024944]''
When I attempt to play a youtube video, it says to update flash or it won't play. So I go to update it, download the official update, and when I hit run, nothing happens, after waiting, thinking it might be taking a minute to startup, I click it again. "Only a single instance of this application can run"
    10 mintues later, nothing.

  • Trial version of illustrator won't finish installing...

I am trying to install a trial version of adobe illustrator.  (I already bought and installed photoshop CS5)  Anyway the Downloader Assistant is telling me it will take  4 hours to install-is that right?  Also, each time I tried to finish the install, with my Adobe ID and the language, the error message comes up telling me to close the following application:  Bridge CS5.    BUT IT'S NOT OPEN.  So I tried three times re-starting my computer and each time the same message comes up telling me to close Bridge.  What's the problem?  I need help!  My project is due by tomorrow night at midnight so could you get back to me ASAP?  Thanks!

    Hi,
Which operating system are you using?
If on Windows, follow the following steps to close Bridge:
    1. Navigate to the task manager.
    2. Click on the "Processes" tab and then click on "Show processes from all users".
    3. Look for bridge.exe in the list of processes. Select it and click on end process.
If you are using a Mac,
    1. Navigate to the Activity Monitor.
    2. Select "All Processes" in the drop down on the top of the dialog.
    3. Look for bridge in the list. Select it and click on Quit Process.
    Reinstall the application.
The download time is entirely dependent on your Internet connection speed.
    Hope this helps

  • My Photoshop Trial won't finish installing...

    Hi!
I am downloading Photoshop cs5.1 trail. The download is in it "Extracting" stage, but won't continue on from there. It's telling me... "The following disk images couldn't be opened"
I have tried to stop, reset and uninstall/install the photoshop trial, but it won't let me. Please help me!!

If you have downloaded the photoshop trial then there would be 2 files , One would be having ".exe" as the extension and the other would be ".7z"
You can use the winrar or winzip to open and extract the ".7z" file as it would be having the setup files to install the software.
One you would be able to extract it then you can run the installer setup and hopefully it will work.

  • Snow Leopard won't finish install

Installing 10.6.3 disk on Macbook 2,1 intel core 2 duo processor 4GB ram and 667mhz currently running 10.5.8.
I just finished replacing my fan and added some ram and embarked upon upgrading the software. About ten minutes into the install I get the window telling me it will continue install after restart. Next I get my password window and no upgrade. still on 10.5.8 operating system.
    Did the following:
attempted disk permissions which failed 3 times
used single user mode to fix fsck sum
fixed the disk permissions, message read permisiions are ok.
tried to install again and failed again.
at no time was I ever able to repair the computer disk as the button was always grayed out.
attepted to partition hard drive and that also failed since I figured I could load the program into the partition.
I don't know what else to try.
Is it possible that since my computer requires a password to operate could that be interfering with the install continuing after restart.
Should I be considering using an external disk drive or target drive on another computer.
    Hope y'all can help

Are you referring to a firmware password (one that appears before you can use any startup shortcuts)?
A normal login password should not cause the install to fail, but a firmware password could cause issues.
I would disable the firmware password (you may need to do this from a 10.5 install disk). Search for 'Firmware password utility OS 10.5' for instructions.
PS you cannot repair a startup disk properly when you are running from that OS. You must boot from an install disk and use that to repair a startup disk.
One more option is to backup the disk (superduper!, CarbonCopyCloner or Disk Utility will do this). Then erase the internal disk & install a fresh copy of 10.6. Migration assistant will move back user data & applications if you run it and connect the backup disk. Personally I think it's safest to clean install major versions.

  • Itunes won't finish installing - Interrupted?

Everytime I install the latest itunes it stops when it's publishing product infomation then it's says it couldn't have been completed because it was interrupted and the system has not been modified! Please please someone help me!
    Nathan

Yes, run means run the install over the interenet, not good if some kind of glitch happens.
Try the Save. Put it on your PC where you can find it. When the download finished, double-click on the file to launch it.

  • IMac 27" - Windows 7 Won't Finish Install

I've hit a wall on my Boot Camp installation of Window 7. I'm confident the Windows OS was installed successfully on the partition, as it's recognizable in both OS X disk utility and from the Windows startup disk, however I cannot find a way to get the installation to offically "complete" as it does on first time boots. After it loads the "Windows is starting up" black screen with the logo, it seemingly turns the display off and will go no further. I tried starting up in Safe Mode, where I was teased by the "first time start up, completing installation"-esque screen, but then a prompt appeared telling me installation could not be completed in Safe Mode.
I have yet to install the Boot Camp drivers, and think this would resolve the issue, but am unsure how to proceed in doing so since I am unable to get Windows 7 to boot. Any suggestions?

Try this out, I had the same problem.... this fixed it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------Ma ke sure your machine has all the current Mac OS software updates. (run it again) You will need to connect a USB wired keyboard (important) and mouse, then follow these steps: Read through them first.
    1. Run the Boot Camp Assistant in OS X as normal and create a partition when asked, then insert your Windows 7 disc to reboot and begin the process.
    2. Windows 7 requires the NTFS file system, so once in the installer just select your new partition (labelled BOOTCAMP), click on Drive options (Advanced) and choose to format it. Then select the newly formatted partition and continue.
    3. Windows 7 will begin installing, and once it gets close to the bottom of its checklist, it will reboot (give it some time) and continue to a point where it is Updating the Registry, it will soon reboot again. (Now, if you leave it here, you’ll get so far and see the black screen. Any further attempts to reboot will bring you to the same dead end.)
    4. So, while the second reboot is happening, you will see a prompt to press any key to boot from CD/DVD. DO THAT before the timer runs out…(this is why you need that wired keyboard). Rather than running the installation again, choose the little option at the bottom to Repair your computer. Decline any suggestions that pop up until you see a list of options with Command Prompt at the bottom. Choose that option.
    5. At the Command Prompt, type DEL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ATIKMDAG.SYS then hit enter. This will delete the default ATI driver. Now close the window and reboot. (Note…there is a space between DEL C:\
    6. This time, Windows should successfully boot with a more generic display driver, allowing you into the desktop. Continue to finish the remainder of the Win 7 install. After the install insert your OS X disc to install the relevant hardware drivers as you normally would, then run Windows update to clear up any leftovers. (ironically the first driver to reappear after an update is the new and relevant ATI graphics driver.)
    7. And there’s a working Windows 7 installation on your new 27in iMac.
    8. Now that you have Windows 7 on this thing, download and install the updated BootCamp v 3.1, so that it can update your Win 7 drivers as well.
