Won't install CS5.5 off of DVD

I recently migrated from one Mac mini to another and need to reinstall Creative Suite 5.5.  When I launch install, it does nothing.  One my other mac it will begin the installation process.  Also, I uninstalled the entire Adobe line before this installation.  Help.

if you follow all 7 steps (especially steps 1,2 and 3), you can download here: Download Adobe CS5.5 Trials: Direct Links (no Assistant or Manager) | ProDesignTools
and activate with your serial number.
if you have a problem (error message, unavailable page or you are offered a current adobe version), you did NOT follow the directions.
the most common problem is failing to meticulously follow directions 1,2 and/or 3 which are needed to add an adobe.com cookie to your computer that allows you to download directly without using the akamai download manager.
again, follow the directions and you'll have no problem.

    Hi gaxfwind,
You can download the CS5 software you need from : http://prodesigntools.com/all-adobe-cs5-direct-download-links.html  and install on the non DVD laptop.
But make sure you follow the important instructions there before you initiate the download.

  • Cousin's PC won't read all photos off copied DVD

Yesterday, a cousin and I swapped photo libraries, his off of an external USB HD plugged into my 15" MBP Core 2 Duo late 2007. And mine that I copied to DVD and gave to him. When he inserted the DVD in his PC, some of the files did not have any information. The files were listed just as the library showed them (right clicked on my library to verify info), but as he navigated through the files, they showed empty.
His files off of his external HD copied to my desktop and seemed to all be there and available for me to view on my MBP.
    What did I do wrong?

    TD,
Does the PC method export albums, too? I have 3313 photos in my library, and I hope that they would at least have some order to them, album wise that is.
Just looked at the exported info and only the photos (minus the albums) were exported. And, curiously only 2316 were transferred. What happened to the other 993?
    TD,
Is there a way to export with album data intact?

  • 10.4.4 won't install due to non-existant DVD Player software?

    Hello all,
The 10.4.4 update fails on my machine with the following message:
There were errors installing the software.
    Please try installing again.
The installer log shows the following error.
BomFileError 28: No space left on device - ///Applications/DVD Player.app/Contents/MacOS/DVD Player
This is a bit odd as my machine only has a CD-RW and the DVD Player software is not installed.
I have repaired disk permissions, restarted in Safe mode with no more success with installing.
I also attempted in install the DVD Player software, but that gave me the error message that my machine does not have any supported DVD hardware.
    Any ideas?
    G4 733Mhz   Mac OS X (10.4.3)   CD-RW

    Hello, thanks for the reply.
The error message implies to me that the device to
which you were installing Mac OS X had insufficient
    space for the installation.
How much free space do you, in fact, have on that
    device?
42.79 Gb. So I don't think that is the problem.
    Your message is confusing.
A CD-RW drive is capable of playing DVDs.
However, it cannot burn to blank DVDs.
A Combo drive can read DVD, but a standard CD-RW can't. This one certainly doesn't read them.
Is your CD-RW drive the one that came with your G4,
or is it a third-party model that you added?
The one that came with it.
What makes you think that DVD Player is not
    installed?
It should be in the Applications folder.
It's not in the Applications folder. I'm pretty sure the MAC OS installer only installs the DVD Player software if it detects a DVD-ROM drive. I could be wrong. I'm pretty sure I didn't manually delete it.

  • Installing CS5 Upgrade - Format the DVD?!

I bought the Photoshop CS5 upgrade today (from CS4) and have just put it into my CD/DVDROM drive. I can hear my laptop trying to read it, but to no avail. As I'm trying to access the DVD through Windows Explorer, it's telling me that I need to format the CD, that there's nothing on this DVD. My system meets all the requirements on the box, and my DVD drive is still playing other DVD's, so I'm not sure what's wrong here.

That's a driver issue in Windows. Check your device manager --> My Computer --> Right-click --> Manage -->System section --> Device manager. Verify that the DVD drive is not flagged as running in compatibility mode. If it is or anything else seems askew, right-click the drive, choose to uninstall. Then select the root level of the device tree, right-click and let Windows scan for new or changed devices. If the drive uses a vendor specific driver, have it handy.

  • Keynote won't install

Hi. I just bought keynote for my Macbook Pro, however it says it's installing and then when it has finished it disappears and I have to start again. It won't install.

Buy an iWork 09 DVD from a source such as eBay or Amazon. If you previously bought a compatible version of Keynote from the Mac App Store and can't download it now, go to the Mac App Store's main page and click on Support under Quick Links.

  • Premiere/AE won't install from CS5 PP DVD's

I've been trying to figure this out for a whole day now....
Just put a new hard drive into my computer (pulled out a flaky one), and installed a brand new copy of Windows 7 on it. Did all the windows updates and then got about re-installing Production Premium CS4 and CS5. Everything was running beautifully, CS4 installed no problems, CS5 was installing well too but then the installation encountered errors.
    Exit Code: 7
    -------------------------------------- Summary --------------------------------------
    - 1 fatal error(s), 4 error(s), 0 warning(s)
ERROR: Found payload conflicts and errors:
ERROR:  - Adobe Photoshop CS5 Core depends on Required Common Fonts Installation to be installed.
ERROR:  - Adobe Illustrator CS5 depends on Required Common Fonts Installation to be installed.
ERROR:  - Adobe Encore CS5 depends on Required Common Fonts Installation to be installed.
FATAL ERROR: Conflicts were found in the selected payloads. Halting installation.
This caused After Effects and Premiere (the two programs I use the most) to not install. I checked functionality of everything else...Illustrator, Photoshop etc...all fine.
Since then I have browsed forums and googled for solutions...I've tried many suggestions such as running windows in modified startup configs, un-install - run the CS5 cleaner utility and re-install, uninstall CS4 and then try CS5 as well as go into my fonts and change permissions of every installed font for both system and my user ID to full control. Nothing is working.
The last resort I have is to wipe the drive (which was as clean as it could ever be before this install mind you....)re-install windows and see what happens....I am expecting it will fail again.
For what it's worth this is also being installed on the exact same computer as before....just with a new hard drive and OS changed from Vista to now Windows 7.
I also notice that this is a problem others have had to with several posts outlining very similar scenarios! However I see very little that has actually be a succesfull resolution for many of these posts....
Anyone with any help to offer would be greatly appreciated!
    James

Have got it working now after another install of Windows 7.....rather than doing ANY updates to Windows or installing ANYTHING else before getting into installing Production Premium, I immediately installed CS5 after Windows had finished installing and i went smooth.

  • Photoshop Elements 12 DVD contains no setup.exe file, just setup.xml files, won't install

Newly opened boxed copy of Photoshop Elements 12 won't install on new installation of Win 8.1.  Turned off virus checking (which shouldn't be necessary), Searched files on DVD, unzipping payload files, including the temporary Premier software, and there are on setup.exe files anywhere.  Tried viewing XML files with browser, which readers xml.  Don't have time to investigate Adobe install procedure, which appears pretty sophisticated (I've written a few years ago).  Any clues?

Thanks mytaxsite. Yes, I bought it at Costco, and of course have the serial number on the box.  I'm a Microsoft developer, and searched the DVD, copying the contents to a hard drive and unzipping the "payload" files.  I understand folder viewing filters and found lots of setup.xml files, which I could have used, with some difficulty, to see where Adobe wanted to put things.  But Adobe knows its installation procedure better than I ever will, and so tried to get tech support.  I even have full Photoshop CS5 on an adjacent machine, used by my daughter, but wanted to have basic editing functionality on a machine I use for film scanning.
I never allow anything to be installed without a dialog, whether from my own or a removable storage device.  The  Windows loader apparently didn't detect autoloading functionality and only offered me the options of viewing files and trying to find multimedia, if I recall (which, since it was irrelevant, I didn't note precisely). I just wanted to see the files anyway, at which point I was puzzled by the lack of setup.exe.  I did, as Adobe suggested, disable my virus scanning software, but not my firewall. It made no difference, and I expected none.  Though I've found no legitimate software that couldn't be loaded with virus scanning enabled.
I suspect your suggestion that I download fresh software from Adobe is the correct one.  It is what I expected Adobe Technical support to suggest. Having some confidence in this newish machine, with its newish, and almost unused, BluRay/DVD burner, and my care handling DVDs, I was guessing at some xml-based installation procedure that I might need to install.  Few Costco customers, not in the software business would know where to look, so I'm curious about how Adobe could ship something lacking the old-fashioned setup.exe, twenty+ year old technology based on the DOS shell?  On the other hand, if there are new standards for installation scripts, I would like to know what they are using.

I have re-installed my macbook pro (early 2011) and have tried to install the bundled applications from the supplied dvd but they won't install. I have tried several times and it keeps telling me that it can't be installed. Has anyone else had this issue and found a solution?

  • I formatted the harddrive and reinstalled CS5 Design Premium, but Dreamweaver won´t install again.

I formatted the harddrive of my Macmini from 2010 2.4 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo, 8 GB 1067 MHz DDR3, Mac OSX 10.6.3 or 10.6.4 (snow leopard) and reinstalled Adobe CS5 Design Premium student edition, but Dreamweaver won´t install again. I downloaded a new CS5 from Adobe yesterday, but it doesn´t help. What´s wrong?

You would have to provide the install logs to figure that out:

Otherwise you should run the cleaner tool and try again:
