Won`t let me check box on downloads

I`m running Windows 7. My problem is that when my downloads box appears it is initially set to "open with vlc player".I always save my downloads ,so I have to move it to the "save" option below.My problem is that it simply wont let me check the box that says "always do this.....etc." It means that I always have to change it to the save option rather than it doing it automatically. It`s a minor inconvenience I know,but it is bugging me.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Thanks

You need to ask Apple to reset your security questions; ways of contacting them include clicking here and picking a method for your country, and filling out and submitting this form.

InCopy Won't Let Me Check Out a Story

Hi,
I appear to be having a very unusual problem with InCopy. It won't let me check anything out. I don't get an error, or a message, it's just not checked out.
I have tried checking stories out in every way i know how and every time i am left with a not checked out story.
Has anyone experienced this before? Any solutions?

A shortcut to perhaps the prolem is to go "around" the live-edit workflow and just focus on the .indd file.

When a link is a Document, Firefox doesn't show my word processor in the application choices. When I browse for Word, it won't let me check the box to always us Word.

When a link is a file (not a web site) Firefox opens a dialog box that begins "You have chosen to open...: and defaults to Save File. When I click on the Open File.. radio button, my word processing program, Word does not appear. When I Browse for the application in the Program Files folder of my computer, I can select Word but the check box to "Do this automatically for this file type from now on." is 'grayed out'. When I click OK, Word loads with the downloaded document.
This is a real pain the in tokus to do this EVERY time. I have checked the association in Windows XP and that file extension IS associated with the Word application. What gives?

Try using a different graphics type for your logo. Some don't translate well to Word. I used to know which ones were compatible but that was long ago and the list may have changed.

So is iTunes still installed on your new PC then? Click the Start Menu icon in the lower left and look for iTunes in the list of programs. Do you see it there and does it open without issues?

You should really read the manual.

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

Safari won't let me check my hotmail account

I've been trying to access my hotmail account however when safari tries to load the page, it eventually sends me back to login page each time.
I tried firefox and IE and both work fine. Does anyone know whats going on?
PS i've reset safari countless times to no avail.

1)This how I have to do it for Hotmail ( free account ) & My MSN .
Is yours a MSN Messenger paid account?
2) Try Setting your cookies to 'Always" in the security
tab -> under Safari -> Safari Preferences before you log into msn.com, then you will have to again log into MSN Messenger.
Then set the cookies back to accept "Only sites I navigate to" having them on always is not a great idea but they seem to require it from Safari.
Can you log in to Messenger from this Page?

See if you have A key in Keychain access for MSN Log in, I would delete that .
Also in home folder > preferences> for MSN plist files , quit Safari
before doing this.

Verizon Won't let me check order status for iPhone?

well I've been trying lately to keep checking to see what my order status is.. but It gives me an error saying:

I am! here's the deal I placed an order for an upgrade at 6:00 am. Then later around 9:30 I placed an additional order to add a line and transfer in another phone #. My order that was placed later just says that it's in process, but my earlier order is getting the same message you are.
My debit card was charged 2 $0.00 transactions this morning. It was charged the full amount of the order about 2 hours ago. When I call the 800# they don't show an order at all! LOL!
I'm chalking this up to the preorder being over and they're updating records, etc. I'll try again in the morning. I'm not going to panic yet because I have my confirmation emails and my card has been charged...hang in there!

The website may be adding a required attribute to force that.

Question is a bit unclear. Once you start a rental, you have 24 hours to complete it. I pause mine all the time. When I hit play again, I get a choice to either resume where I left off or start all over. I believe it is necessary to have an internet connection while view ATV content, so if you lost the connection, that might make it "spin".
Re your tag line "Can I view my ATV thru my iPad?" If you have a wifi connection, you can view almost anything with AirPlay. Or you can view anything from the various ATV selections without having your iPad on. Of course, you have to pay for some options like HBO, Netflix, etc.

Trying to upgrade to os 10.8.5 I now use 10.75 Bot the upgrade and downloaded. But a warning msg said that I need 10.8 first. So trashed the dload, shut down machine thinking to go back and start over.Now the mac won't let me try re-download

Hi - I made a mistake, I guess. I'm tring to upgrade to os 10.85. I now use 10.75. I bought the upgrade and downloaded it, completely I thought... but when I opened it to install it, a warning came up and said I need 10.8 in order to install 10.85. So...after some thought, I trashed the down load and went back to the app staore to find 10.8. the little box by the mountain lion image said 'downloading'/ Sure enough in a remote corner of the screen there was a little box that said it was downloading. arrgh. I'd already trashed what was downloaded in finder . So I figured I'd stop the download in the little box (which I think was 10.8) , turn off the mac. and then reboot, and download the whole thing again.
Now, when I go to the mountain lion image in the app store, and press 'download' It won't let me download at all. ??What to do??

I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
From the App Store menu bar, select
Store ▹ Check for Unfinished Downloads...
You may be prompted to sign in. If that doesn't solve the problem, quit the application and continue as below.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
open $TMPDIR../C
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). A folder should open. From that folder, delete the subfolder named "com.apple.appstore".
Quit Terminal. Launch the App Store and try again.
