Won't load interactive pdf

I've tried deleting the app, and downloading again, and it works, sorta, for the first few tries, but then it gets stuck in the loading screen when I try to open another interactive pdf.

Can you send the following information to [email protected]:
1. the interactive PDF that exhibits this behavior.
2. expicit instructions or (better, yet) a video describing exactly how you are reproducing this issue.
3. the device you are using.
4. the operating system on that device.
Thanks.

  • Load interactive pdf with data from database

I am trying to understand our options for loading database data into an interactive pdf..?   Some of the data is not stored in the database and needs to be manually entered by the user in the interactive pdf.
Here is the interactive pdf I'm working with:
    http://www.dcma.mil/dcman/NPP/files/dd1149.pdf
As I understand it, there are 2 options:
    1.  Create an xml file from the database data.   Users can manually import this xml file into this existing interactive pdf and then manually add the additional data, and save the interactive pdf.
Would users need to use Adobe acrobat Standard or Pro edition to import the xml data?
    2.  Create a XFA PDF form that's made with LiveCycle Designer.   Can this method create an interactive pdf so that users can enter additional data later and save the pdf?
What adobe products are required to use this method?
    thanks for any assistance..
    -D

Yes,using LiveCycle you could accomplish this easily.Once you have your invoice form ready based on predefined XSD, you can easily update the form data by fetching the values from database using JDBC operation. Also you could email this updated form using Email service.

  • Webex won't load a pdf

I have recently signed up to Webex and have been able to share various files except pdfs.
When I try to share one that I have uploaded to Webex or direct from my pc it trys to open Adobe Acrobat then give up and says Adobe Acrobat 8.1 has stopped working.
This happens with pdfs I have created myself and other users pdfs.
I have been able to share pdfs in Adobe Connect and other services.
Is there some security setting I need to alter ?

I would suggest contacting Cisco Webex with this issue.

  • When I publish a pdf collection with index to a CD, the index won't load

I am using acrobat XI pro. I have a pdf collection with 30 chapters, a table of contents that is linked to each chapter, and an index. I have inserted a bookmark for the table of contents in each chatper. There are lots of cross chapter links. It all works beautifully on my computer, I can click links between chapters, go back to table of contents using bookmark on each document, and conduct a search that uses the right index and breaks results down per chapter. But when I burn the folder to a CD and install on another computer, the index won't load and the table of contents link is broken. the index is there on the CD, every file and the file structure looks identical to what is on my computer hard drive. I have tried different methods of burning the disc. They all say they are successfully burned. But when I insert into another computer (have tried a laptop and desktop), I either get an error message about the index or it just create it at all. I deleted the index and all of its associated files and recreated from scratch, associating each of the 30 chapter to the index again, but still does not work. Help, past deadline already!

I fail to see the issue. You have added crop marks, have you not? For all intents and purposes those are marks that are supposed to be visible and printable for cutting in the real world. If you don't want them, don't use them. Acrobat can generate them on the fly for printing, anyway.

  • Video is not loading in Interactive PDF created using Indesign 6.0

    Hi All,
I am adding the mp4 video within the Indesign 6.0 and when I convert the same into the interactive PDF format but video are not loading at all in iPad. I have added the custom HTML tag as object but still its negative results.
Please help me out if you have any suggetions on how we can have the video running in interactive PDF on iOS.
All your help is very much appriciated.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sumanth C N

Not all readers on an iPad can show video! In fact Adobe Reader cannot! You must third-party apps. The best is PDF Expert from Readdle (US $10).

  • My Safari won't load PDF's

For months now my Safari won't load pdf's. They just don't show up. I saw an answer in this community to delete a certain plug in. I looked for that and I didn't have that plug in. Any other suggestions to help get this figured out would be splendid.

    Hi...
Make sure you are looking in the correct Library. There are two. One is root, one is your Home folder.
    Quit Safari.
Open a Finder window. Select MacintoshHD in the Sidebar on the left then open the Library folder then the Internet Plug-Ins folder.
If you see this file:  Adobe PDF Browser plug-in
    Move it to the Trash.
    Relaunch Safari.
Tip.. if you are given instructions to go to the root library you'll see this:   /Library
For your home folder you'll see this:   ~/Library
The (Tilde) character before the forward slash denotes the Home folder.

  • Interactive pdf from CS5 won't work on Adobe Digitial Editions

I am an ebook publisher creating enhanced ebooks with video, using CS5 to produce interactive pdfs. These work fine on Reader 9, but why won't they work on Digital Editions? This is crucial if they are to be delivered online.

I totally agree with vivrainbow. there is absolutely no point at all in creating an ebook reader if it is not going to display an ebook correctly. It's a complete debacle.
I've just started experimenting with pdf from CS5.5 and found that a pdf which displays and works perfectly in Adobe Reader, does not do so in ADE (and i hate the way ADE displays a watermark which is set to only show at print).
And writing off this complaint as "actually rather special" is actually rather ridiculous. ebook publishers are not in control of the software their end users choose. if someone has a bad experience reading an ebook in ADE they are just as likely to blame it on a crappy ebook file rather than ****** software.

  • TS1702 iBooks won't load PDF files any more on my Ipad2. Anybody seen this one before?

    Hello All,
iBooks won't load PDF files any more.
I have a lot of PDF files so I thought I reached a maximum number of files or space so I deleted a lot of old files but this did not help.
I rebooted, synced, updated, restarted, etc. - everything that I can think of and I still have the same problem.
I don't remembered the last file that I loaded into iBooks, as I usually put them into collections.
I can still load PDF files into other applications like PDF Reader, but I prefer to have them all in iBooks.
    Anybody seen this one before?
    I have 64GB iPad2 and I have over 14GB free space.

There have been several threads on this topic over the last few weeks. It's not clear what the issue is, and it is not universal, but tend to effect users storing large numbers of PDFs in iBooks. Possible it has some thing to dowith capacity of the app, or specific characteristics of some of the PDFs.
You might have a look at the "More Like This" list to the left of this page.

  • PDF won't load

I'm using the adobe reader app on my iPad and I'm trying to open the HAMP pdf form off of www.makinghomeaffordable.gov and it won't load please tell me what I need to do

I found the PDF you were trying to open. The website isn't responsive to opening the PDF from a mobile browser. Usually, it would open in the Safari window, then you could use the Share button to open in Adobe Reader on your iPad. But it's of a type the Safari browser can't view (perhaps created with LifeCycle Designer). There is no option provided to open it in any other way.
You'll have to use your Windows or Mac computer and open it there, or use the computer of a friend or at the library.
Sorry, but it's the fault of the website.

  • Email button created in InDesign won't work on Interactive PDF. Anyone know a fix?

Hello there, I am trying to make a e-mail button work after its .swf file is imported into a new iD document and exported as a interactive PDF. I have tried various things and work around but I can not seem to be able top make it wrong. I ask iD twiter for help and after a conversation with them I was told to try here.
    OS: Windows 7, iD Version 9.2.1 x64
This is my process (Will include images and document files)
    1. Create simple solid color box object. Add a text title to the box and otline the text.
    2. Group the objects and make it into a button. Add a roll over appearance.
    3. Add "go to URL" action. One sample button URL is: mailto:test@email(dot)com, Second sample URL is: mailto://test@email(dot)com (the forum editor kept making links to this fake emails)
    4. Export iD document to .swf (Settings where default)
NOTE* Here the .swf open in chrome and the email buttons work fine as a .swf alone
    5. Import the SWF into a new iD file. Export this second iD file to an Interactive PDF (Seetings where default)
After doing this I click on the email buttons inside the interactive PDF but they dont start my email app (Outlook 2013) However every time I click either button a new empty Google Chrome window opens.
Here is a dropbox link to the files themselves, the type is outlines so no need to worry for missing fonts. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/fp76buzt98td8fy/4DD6tqImd9
I hope someone can help me getting this fixed. Http:// Link buttons work fine on interactive PDF's following this process. For soem reason the email ones are the only ones that wont work. I have to use this process because I am working with an interactive PDF that has an animated roll over menue that does not work with ePub so the only way for my project to work the way I want it too is by exporting .swf of the finished file, importing on a new iD file and re-exporting to a interactive PDF.
It was really hard finding anyhting related to this issue im having. Here is the only similar  issue I could find and it is from 2008! http://forums.adobe.com/thread/324167 I do hope I am the one doing something wrong here and not that Adobe has not fixed this .swf email links issue.
    Thanks for the help!
    -Sebastian

Alright thanks! Ok this is what happens in my end:
    - The interactive PDF you sent me works fine. The iD file opens fine as well and is exactly the same process so that checks.
-I exported your iD file to .swf, created a new iD document and imported the exported .swf file from the file you created. I exported this new document to interactive PDF. I open it and again I click the links and only google chrome windows open
This is the link it probably works fine on your end
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/on5tun0v0eunjhu/buttons%20email%20text%20swf%20imported%20to%20i nteractive%20pdf.pdf
I think there is something going on in my end. "Google Chrome" or "Flash" might be intersecting email links or something becuase I cannot get these .swf + interactive pdf combo to open the email client not even after I used your iD file, exported .swf, imported it and export again to interactive pdf.
Again the interactive pdf you sent works fine and when I export my file to interactive pdf it works on my end as well, its only after i export to swf and then I use the file inside iD and export to interactive pdf that it does causes me trouble. I will see what I can do to fix this. At least it was working for you so if its only in my end then its not that bad but it will bugg me forever haha!
Thanks again for your help!! Sorry to take your time Salah!

  • Interactive PDFs won't scale in Acrobat Reader

Once I create an interactive PDF using InDesign CS5 and view it in Acrobat Reader 10, the functionality works fine but when I scale the page size in Acrobat Reader from 100% to larger or smaller, the interactive elements stay at 100% and are cropped when the scale is smaller and have a large space around them when the scale is larger.
Is there an export feature that allows the interactive elements to scale with the page size? I can't seem to find one.
    Thanks.

How did you create it? There was a known issue with the original release of CS5 but that was supposed to be fixed with one of the patches. If you're on CS5 then you should make sure you're fully patched to 7.0.3.

  • Video won't play in Interactive PDF

    Hi,
I am attempting to export an interactive pdf with video and I have followed all the steps in the user guide.
However, While all other elements seem to function fine, when I attempt to click on the video file I am presented with a blank screen.
Initially I was using an mp4 file but I have converted this to f4v with no success. I have made sure to keep the original frame size.
The file plays fine in SWF preview.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks,

In Acrobat Reader, check the Multimedia Trust (legacy) setting. You can set the permissions of how the media players handle multimedia files. The settings are: Prompt, Always and Never. If "Never" is applied, then you would need to change to one of the other settings. Also, you have individual settings for Quicktime and Flash. And individual settings for trusted documents and other documents.
Keep in mind, these are application settings, and will only affect your app, not the document and how others will experience the multimedia files.

  • 404 page Interactive PDF won't export

I have been trying to export a 404 page InDesign Document as an interactive PDF, however, each time I do...it stalls out.  And when I check the application and it says "Application not responding."
I then tried to export it as a low res regular PDF with hyperlinks and bookmarks InDesign Crashed.
Am I doing something wrong?  Can you not export files that are this large (ID file is 89MB)?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you!
    Brandi

Can you export in two pieces, i.e the front half and then the back half?

  • Interactive pdf won't work

I just made an interactive pdf using ID. I have a problem when I try to send it. When i press the button send I get the following message
"Error in server connection. Verify that port 993, on your machine is available for connection or contact your administrator..."
What could it be wrong?... I hope some of you can help me :-)

    The mailto looks fine.
I tend to advise people against a mailto action. It's OK for testing/toys, it's OK for use among friends who have enough time to get it working, it's OK in some corporate settings where the email is centrally controlled.
Otherwise, it is just unsuitable for real world or commercial use. You've identified one reason why: it depends on whether your computer has an email client installed, set up and ready to go. In some cases, the submit can seem to succeed, but it goes into an unused Outbox, and is never seen.
Consider all the web pages you use with forms and buttons. These could submit to mailto: to. But they never, ever, do, because it just isn't suitable for real world use.
So any serious use of submit uses an http or https URL. The scripts (like all web scripts) must be prepared by a professional web programmer, fully up to date with the latest security issues, otherwise expect your server to be hacked, defaced, or used to send spam or store porn. It saddens me to say this, because it used to be an excellent introductory project, but too much is at stake.
You might ask yourself, why would I even use a PDF form, when it needs much the same work as an HTML form. Consider whether you need the extra features of PDF forms. What they AREN'T is a simpler alternative to HTML forms.
