Won't lock on GPS

New Customers x 3 days. Decided to return to Verizon for cell phone service with advent of Network extenders as had good luck with ATT micro cell ( same premise ) through our DSL. We have been trying to get it to work for 48 hours and still no go. We even have tried a new GPS antenna from the store. We get constant magenta for the GPS slot. We have tried moving it to every room including the roof. Network extender just won't lock into GPS, but Internet connection good.
We have a metal roof. we are 3 -4 miles from where service stops.
Can get one to three bars when phone on window sill but when place GPS sensor doesn't recognize it.
Tech support has been nice, but tired of calling them and ready to go back to ATT. Then tonight reading that they have Network extender outages??? None of the tech people mentioned that.
Any ideas out there appreciated.

load the required maps via nokia map loader and on ur n97 mini settings>phone>app sett>positioning methods to and Integrated GPS (dnt select Bluetooth GPS Assisted GPS & Network based) and ur done but offcorse it depends on ur GPS fix (Ovi Maps 3.x is now giving free navigation) dnt forget to hit Kudos!

Okay, so I try to open an app, but for some reason, I can't close out of the app, multitask, or even shut of my iPod, so it won't lock, but I have the time set to two minutes but its been half an hour and it still didn't lock. Please tell me if fixable.

I try to open up a texting app, and now, it won't lock, exit out (or crash suprisingly), multitask, or even power off. Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My phone won't lock or go into sleep mode when making or receiving calls. Consequently I keep activating the mute or loud speaker buttons with my cheek. Can anyone help please??

That is a Proximity Sensor Problem, which is located above the earpiece speaker. Do you have a new screen protector or iPhone Case which could interfer with this?
Reset iPhone, Restore iPhone.
If you have Warranty or AppleCare Coverage make Genius Reservation and take iPhone to Apple for resolution.

My iPad WON'T lock now

Well, at the start I found the "slide to unlock" annoying. So I changed the Settings on IPad Cover Lock/Unlock to OFF. I also changed the Auto-Lock to NEVER.
THEN I changed my mind and decided I wanted the "Slide to unlock" feature back. I changed the Auto-Lock to 2 minutes and the iPad Cover Lock/Unlock to ON.
It won't lock any more. When I open my iPad, the Home pages is always there. Any suggestions?

Oh yeah, I forgot to say I did that too.

Optical digital cable won't lock

Am trying insert the optical digital cable into the digital out on my PL4200N Plasma TV.
As it is a vertical connection it won't lock in. It falls out. Any solution?

Blackberry Curve 8520 Won't Lock! Help!

I recently purchased a new Blackberry Curve 8520, and it was working great, until a couple of days ago, when it starting not working.
Whenever I'd press the a* button to lock it like you're supposed to, it wouldn't lock.
I tried shutting it off and then turning it back on again, but it still won't lock.
It's really annoying, because I can't put it in my pocket without pocket-dialing someone from my contacts.
Any ideas on how to get it to lock again?

might be a hardware defect with the proximity sensor.
Try doing a hard reset: Press and hold both the Home button and the Sleep/wake button simultaneously for about 15 seconds and release when the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't solve the issue, you could also try backing up the device and restoring the device as new.
In that case, follow the steps in: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4137
NB: set up as a NEW device because a software issue will be in the backup. If the issue persists after restoring as new, you should offer the device for service.

Using his article will erase everything on the device, so make sure you have a backup!

My iPad 2 screen won't "lock" or "turn off" after being left unused since ios7 update

Hi, I hope this hasn't already been covered I have had a look and on other sites but haven't come across nothing.
Since I have updated to ios7 my iPad 2 screen now doesn't lock when left unused, I can manually lock it by pushing the lock button but it won't do it by its self no more, my iPhone does so I'm assuming it's not a new thing that came with the update. It's not a huge issue, it's more annoying, my battery is forever low as it drains it when I forget to lock it myself. I have had a look through the settings and can't see how to change this, I'm not a very technical person though so I know I may have missed it somewhere or am just being very blonde,, thank you in advance for any light shed on this.

Iphone 6 won't lock into landscape mode, keep switching back to portrait mode

Hi,
Please help me, this has driven me nut, I can't seem to lock my iphone 6 into landscape mode, it will only lock my screen when I am in portrait mode.
For example, if I open safari and turn my phone sideway, safari would turn into landscape mode, and if I want to lock my screen to keep it in landscape mode, it won't do it, as soon as I select that screen lock button, it will turn back to portrait mode and lock my screen up into portrait mode.
What should I do to keep my screen lock at landscape mode??? I have tried this with several apps and the same thing happen, like in Calculator, when I turn it sideway and try to lock it, it goes right back to portrait mode.
I restored my iPhone 6 from my iPhone 5c so just wonder if it has anything to do with that or just some bugs in iOS8???
My current display is in Standard and not Zoom display, and I even try to set it as Zoom and then reset it back to Standard to try to see if it works and it still doesn't work.

I Just spent over an hour with support on this issue and apparently in iOS 8 they removed the option for the phones to lock in landscape mode. So, there is nothing wrong with your phone, unfortunately they removed a very useful feature. Maybe they will see if enough users want it they will fix it in an update.

Droid 3 won't lock

Basically, when I push the lock button the screen goes black like it should, but when I turn the screen back on it goes straight to the main screen, bypassing the lock screen altogether. I've had this problem before, I don't know why it happened then & I dont know why it's happening now, but my Droid 3 won't slide to unlock.
I havent downloaded any new apps, I've scanned my phone using Lookout, I haven't done anything different, in fact the lock was working just a few minutes before it started doing this. The last time this happened, my phone would become unlocked in my pocket and open random apps or butt-dial numbers.
I did a hard reset the last time, but it's such a tedious task redownloading all of my apps and losing data in games, contact pictures, etc. I prefer the slide unlock to the others because I'm on my phone a lot and it's easier than the pattern or password...Is there any reason why it would be doing this & how can I solve it?

There's apps on market to disable and enable but since you said you are not using any such app have you tried going into the Settings and security menu and check the settings? If the issue continues as another option you could consider a lick screen replacement like Widget Locker, this is a way more Superior lock screen in my opinion.

My ipad won't lock and camera is frozen

so, i had not charged my ipad for about a month and when i turned it on, the lock/sleep or whatever button wouldn't work. i tried using assistive touch to lock my ipad and it didn't work either. i turned it off hoping that would fix the problem but then i couldn't turn it on. i plugged it in and it showed the apple thing. and my camera is frozen and i already closed all the apps. also, my ipad is very slow, lags and crashes a lot. what can i do?

I have a magnetic Blackberry case and have set my phone under password options to lock handheld upon holstering but it doesnt do it....any ideas why??

You can't backup the iPod then.
Place the iPod in recovery mode using one of these programs and restore via iTunes:

Touch screen won't lock when on a call?

After the latest updated whenever I'm on the phone I noticed that i'm either hanging up on people, or putting them on mute, etc. I thought that the screen was supposed to lock? It doesnt seam to do that anymore? Is there something I can do to fix it?

If you are using a case, try removing a case to see if the same occurs during a call without the case.
If no change, the standard troubleshooting steps in order are:
Power your iPhone off and on.
An iPhone reset.
Restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.
Restoring your iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after the last step, more than likely your iPhone has a hardware problem with the proximity sensor. This has nothing to do with the most recent firmware update.

Computer won't lock after sleep/screensaver

I had my computer, a almost brand new macbook, set to require a password after the screensaver opened or the computer went to sleep. I'm not sure if the recent system update is to blame, but now, even though i still have the computer set to require a password (i already tried changing this back and forth a few times) the computer doesn't lock unless i physically shut it to put it to sleep. ideas?

I had the same problem. I'm not sure what caused it. It could've been one of the latest updates or the resetting of my PRAM (I was having trouble with my Powerbook sound). Here's what I did:
I unchecked the option in the security preference pane.
Then I closed System Preferences.
I opened Sys Prefs again and ticked it.
Then quit and it worked fine again.
