Won't login to treasury direct

Over the past two years I have used treasurydirect.gov to purchase savings bonds. Last week, for the first time, I couldn't log into my account. This drop down message appeared: Safari can’t open the page “https://www.treasurydirect.gov/RS/BPDLogin?application=rs” because it couldn’t establish a secure connection to the server “www.treasurydirect.gov”. I'm running safari 10.3.9
I tried on my son's computer and received an unknown error message 10054. He is running 10.4
Thanks for any help you can give. John

  • Mac Pro (v1.1) won't login after installing new video card

    Hello,
I have a Mac Pro from 2006 and after my NVidia 7300GT burned, I bought a Geforce 8800GT to replace my old card. After I installed it to the motherboard following the user manual, I turn on my mac and I get the white screen with the apple logo but it won't login. I left it like that for 30 minutes, then I forced restart and the same thing happens. Does anyone have a clue why this happens and how can it be fixed?
    Thank you

8800 required 10.5.2 or later (10.5.3 DVD and 10.5.6 DVDs were sold, though now $29 will get you 10.6.3).
No OS earlier than 10.5.2, in addition to there having been two versions of the card, EFI32 (2006-7) and EFI64 (2008+).

Macbook Pro won't login after sleep (sleep with low battery --> mac turned off maybe it's called save sleep)
So if I hit the powerbutton my mbp booted like it is booting from the save sleep (so very fast and the login screen is there in about 10 sec.and there is no apple logo while booting just the desktop screen in "unsharp" ore foggy however...)
Then when i see the login (if the keyboard backlight turned on) i wand do tipe in my code but it won't work... the trackpad is not working; and when i plug-in a usb mouse the mbp is not powering on the usb-mouse (laser is off)
    Why is that this way?
Is there n option to wake up the mbp fromm deep/save sleep without haveing issiues after that?

Sorry for such a long delayed response...
I was able to get to an apple store this past weekend, and let me tell you... I'm about finished with there great "support".
Right before I went to the store, I tried to eject a disk. Well the cloth in the SuperDrive (I assume to protect the drive from dust and such) Pulled up with my disk. So I get the Apple store, describe my problem and what happened with the cloth piece. The "Genius" writes up a form and tells me they have to run diagnostic and it will take a couple days... and I will get a call when its done (1-3 days).
Well on day number 3 I called up the store and they told me it was ready to be picked up? I asked if anything had been fixed and they told me they could not reproduce my "sleep issue", so they couldn't fix that.. but told me the cloth piece in the SuperDrive had been fixed.
I drive an hour (one way) to the Apple store to find that all they did was PULLED OUT the cloth... they did not replace it! So basically I have a hole for a Super Drive.
I asked why I was not called to say that my computer was ready to be picked up... didn't get an answer on that one.
I asked why my SuperDrive was said to be fixed, when nothing was done... they told me that it would have to be sent out to the factory store for that to be fixed (FIRST TIME THEY MENTIONED THAT!) Oh, and that would take 5-7 business days. Well that's not going to happen right now considering I'm a college student that NEEDS a working computer!
So I go home, angry... start just putting all my important documents back on the computer. And the screen starts blinking!!!! I guess now I have the same thing described in another post on these forms...
Lets just say that I'm not very happy with Apple right now! If anybody else has success on either the sleep issue or the screen blinking issue, please let me know!
    Thank you!

  • Safari won't login auyomatically

Hi. safari 5.1.7 won't login automatically. the autofill works just fine the name and password always there but i still need to press login. please help

AFAIK, that'll never happen. It's a security issue. I can't believe clicking login is such a burden.

  • Guest user account won't login

How do I fix the problem?
    -Patrick

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled in OS X 10.9 or earlier, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Lync for Windows 8 (from the store, for RT or Pro) won't login - just 'spins' while loggining into Office 365, requires reinstall to fix

The Lync app (the one you get from the Microsoft Store in Windows 8) just stalls (the wait 'circle' just endlessly circles) while trying to sign in with my Office 365 account.  It doesn't time out or provide an error message.  This
happens on both my Surface RT and Surface Pro.  It happened on both devices when I had Windows 8, and continues to happen after upgrading both devices to Windows 8.1.  I'd like to point out that on the Surface Pro, I also have Lync 2013 installed
as part of Office 2013 Professional Plus, and Lync 2013 never has a problem signing in.  I can sign in successfully with Lync 2013, then immediately try to sign in with the Lync app and experience the stalling login on the Lync app.
Following the app's troubleshooting tips (linked from the login page), I've tried removing my log in credentials, closing the app and restarting it, and even restarting the Surface.  None of these work.  The only thing that works is to uninstall
the Lync app, then re-install, launch, configure, and login to it.  However the Lync app will only continue to work for 1-2 days and eventually the stalled login issue returns.
This has been going on since I first started using Lync in September 2013.  I've had to re-install it several times on the Surface RT.
I can't find anything in event viewer to help with this.  I've read about ensuring that the time is properly sync'd and can confirm the time is set properly.  Again Lync 2013 works on the Pro even when the Lync app won't.
I tried to do a clean reboot following these steps at KB 929135.  However there aren't any non-Microsoft services for me to disable, and there are no start up items to disable.
As I mentioned I updated my Surface devices to 8.1, but I even went to the trouble of completely refreshing them (complete re-install).  They are on the latest firmware, OS, and patch level.
Given that Lync 2013 works fine on the Surface Pro, I suspect the problem is with the Lync app itself, not with the device, Windows, or the Lync service.

    Hi,
I apologize for incorrect mark and repeated redirection between two forums. I suggest you confirm with your colleagues if s/he also encounter the issue on RT client.
Here is the order of preference for Lync 2013 client:
    lyncdiscoverinternal
    lyncdiscover
    sipinternal
    sip
For Lync 2013 Windows Store App, it only queries lyncdiscoverinternal and lyncdiscover and does not advance further. If the issue happen on all RT client, please double check your lyncdiscover records.
If the issue persists, please refer to this KB article to collect log files for further troubleshooting.

  • My mac won't login

ok I can't get into my emac, i turn it on, and i login- have 2 accounts and am unable to get in using either one!?!
    any help??
it loads my background and then won't go any further in, (just shows the spinning coloured mouse curser) I can use/move the mouse but i can't even open the disc drive, have over riden it and put teh hardware test cd in but nothing different happens when i restart..
so much work to do today as well!?! any help would be fantastic!!

Try resetting your PRAM and run fsck.
    Reset PRAM:
    1. Shut down the computer.
    2. Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    3. Turn on the computer.
    4. Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
    5. Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound (bong) for four times.
    6. Release the keys.
    Run fsck.
    1. Reboot/Startup holding your Command-S key down.
    2. At the command line type the following and hit 'Return.'
    /sbin/fsck -fy
    3. After it has check/repaired your disk, type 'reboot' and hit 'Return' again. Unit should bootup normally.

  • Why won't login window display for OSX 10.8.5?

I work as a graphic designer. My co-worker and I have been having login issues with the iMacs (3.6 GHz Intel Core i5, OSX 10.8.5) we use. Our computers have CS6, MS Office, FlightCheck, StuffIt Deluxe, and Suitcase Fusion installed as the main applications. The computers are set to put the displays to sleep at a certain time and then require the user to login at that point. Except there are times when the login display won't pop up. I've been searching for and using work arounds like fixing the permissions, resetting the PRAM, unplugging the computer, and unplugging all peripherals. These work temporarily, but nothing has resolved the issue long term.
Has anyone experienced this login issue and resolved it?

Did that days ago with no success.
I have followed every instruction I can find, and even threatened both devices.  Nothing.
I've had Macs for 12 years so am no novice.
Alas, I was forced to get an IPhone 8 months ago because a client wanted to text me, and my flip phone wouldn't cut it.  It has been a source of continual aggravation.  All I want to do is text, make phone calls, and occasionally go on the Net.  No music, no photos, no e-mail, no games, no crazy apps, etc.  Simple.   Well you'd think so.
Genius Bar requires a 25-mile trip, so I turn to the communities first.

  • 10.5 clients won't login/mount home directory

    Hello all,
I am having some issues with 10.5.8 clients logging in network users.  At our school, we have a "magic triangle" setup -- Mac and PC clients, an Active Directory for user authentication (a Win 2k3 server DC I believe), and an Open Directory server (running 10.7.5 OS X Server) for Workgroup Managment and software updates.  Along with this, there is a Linux NAS box that acts as the file server hosting the user's home directories.
I have a few test student accounts that I have set up exactly the same way that normal student accounts are added to AD.  Users have complained that these 10.5.8 clients will not let any students log on, as I have verified with my test student accounts.  When logging in, an error comes up that says "Logging into the account failed because an error occurred".  In secure.log I get a "smb_mount: syserror = Broken pipe" line along with
    ERROR | -[HomeDirMounter mountNetworkHomeWithURL:attributes:dirPath:username:] | PremountHomeDirectoryWithAuthentication( url=smb://fileserver.domain.org/username, homedir=/Network/Servers/fileserver.domain.org/username, name=username ) returned 32
When I turn off "Create Mobile Account at Login", the user can log in just fine, which obviously leads me to believe that there is an issue with mounting the samba share for the user's home directory during the HomeSync.
I know the client can resolve the file server's hostname by nslookup, so I don't think DNS is the issue.  But I'm all out of ideas after looking everywhere online, and am hoping someone can assist me with this.  I'm just a computer technician and not a network sys admin by any means, but I know a good enough amount to try to troubleshoot this.  Even my network manager is stumped, and his answer is to upgrade the client to 10.6, resolving that the issue is with 10.5. I want to try to solve this issue rather than having to re-image all the 10.5 machines.
Obviously school is out for the weekend, so I won't be back for a couple days to work on the issue if anyone does respond in the next couple days.
    Thanks in advance!
    -Brandon

Hi Brandon, certainly no expert at this, but let me trow this out at you...
Found a work-around. This command adds a delay, in this case 45 seconds, before displaying the Login Window.
defaults write /Library/Preferences/com.apple.loginwindow StartupDelay -int 45
If the Login Window UI detects that the network servers are available when it starts, it will skip the delay, also if network servers become available before the delay expires, the Login Window UI cancels the delay and displays.

  • Game center won`t login

    Hi,
I just cannot login to game center. Apparently you just put down your AppleID and password and it should work but it does not accept mine. The steps are to write AppleID and password, then to find your country in the list, and that is when things start going wrong. My country is not listed! (Brazil) So, whatever other country I put won`t match my AppleID info (at least that is what I think is happening) and login is denied. Or at least it looks like its been denied, because the screen just goes back to AppleID and password. No messages.
Is there any way to login and use this game center? Or will it be just an icon using space on my screen? Because it cannot be deleted, right?
Right now I cannot delete it and I cannot use it. Not exactly what one wants...
    Any ideas?
    Thank you!

I have exactly the same problem and I live in the states so entering the correct country will not help with the problem either. If Apple has a bug in the program please let us KNOW!!

Well after more research I can see this has been an ongoing problem for many for a LONG time now and that most can't get fixed... though some have. I tried EVERYTHING I could find on the threads. None of the ideas work for suck. ***.

  • My iMac won't login- what should I do?

    I have an iMac 24" Core 2 Extreme 2.8 GHz 2 GB RAM 500 GB 7200 RPM 7,1 (http://goo.gl/0HiZQ)
It is currently unusable. I just installed Lion when it came out (I started the download the minute it came out) and I cannot use it. When what I think caused the problem happened, I was having FileVault encrypt my hard drive. I had prevented the computer from sleeping so it and Spotlight could do their thing. They had been working for a while when I came back and realized that it was frozen. The clock had not changed in a while and nothing would move. I did a button shutdown and I tried to reboot immediately. I'm not sure what happened next, but it was either:
    (1) It showed a white screen then the Apple logo and a spinning progress icon. Now, whan I get this, the Apple logo is eventually replaced with a flashing crossed out circle. (I just did it again with safe mode and it wasn't flashing, so maybe I made that up.)
    (2) It showed a white screen then the Apple logo and a spinning progress icon then a bar that did not move much then later went back to just the icon (I never actually saw it finish or move much since I walked away since it was taking so long) I think that this event, which no longer occurs, usually ended with the Apple logo being replaced by a stylized computer window with a flashing question mark. (I think it was flashing, but now that I saw the crossed out cirecle not flashing, I can't be sure of anything)
    (3) It showed my icon to login almost immediately and then my password made it show the Apple logo and then it and a spinning progress icon. I have tried rebooting and one of the numbered events happened almost randomly (at least I think so, but I must have been doing things differently). Recently, I have been able to get my icon every time, and have booted into the recovery OS to no avail. My password will not unlock the hard drive to reinstall lion or to reset the password or anything else. It seems to stick on my correct password for much longer than incorrect passwords. My recovery key will not unlock my computer either, it just does 1 even if the code is incorrect. Now, whenever I get 1, the computer eventually turns off.
Target disk mode has caused the computer to show the large moving FireWire icon and have the drive show up in the other computer's disk utility, but never mount on that other machine. But that may not be caused by the problematic computer. Trying safe mode causes 1.

  • BW Download to excel - extra login window - no direct BW user possible

    Hi All,
When we download a report with a hierarchy from BW to Excel we are asked to logon again. We would like to remove this logon and download the objects directly when exporting to excel.
In note 516884 we found an option for removing the extra logon, unfortunatly for our client this is not an option as they use the SAP portal ONLY to access the reports and do not have direct access and connection to the BW server.
Do you have an idea how to solve this problem? So we do not have to logon in excel, and do not have to have a direct user to BW.
    Hope you can help!
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Hermen

    Hi Hermen,
You can achieve this by implementing Single Sign-On between SAP Portal and BW.
SAP Portals has the mechanism to provide Single Sign-On with Logon Tickets.
You can find more detailed information at the link below:
