Won't play selected radio station

wow - I so wish I didn't do the upgrade to 11. When I go to my radio stations -- alternative -- double click on my station -- it chooses one above it or three below it - but not the one I'm trying to select. It happens on several stations but not all. What the heck is going on?

Yes, I've had this issue too - even before I upgraded to iTunes 11.  I'm not sure if it's tied to iTunes updates, OS updates, or "selective memory loss" ;-)  But what seems to work for me is removing the station from the playlist, then finding it again in the list of Radio stations - you can then play it from there, or add it back to your playlist(s) and it will work there too - until it "forgets" again; hopefully this will work for you

Is there a way that iTunes can act as a Radio Alarm Clock?
I have found the radio station I enjoy listening to in the iTunes Radio List. Is there anyway iTunes (and my Mac) can be set to come-on from Sleep mode and start playing that Radio Station at specific times of the day?
Any App or plug-in that does that?
    Many thanks

Turning your Mac into a clock radio.
    1.  In iTunes create a playlist that contains just the radio station you want to wake up to.
    2.  Export the playlist (as .m3u works well).  Get Info on your playlist file and look at the Open With entry to make sure it points to iTunes, VLC or some other app that will stream your station.
    3.  In iCal create an event entry at the time you want to wake up.
    4.  Right (or Control) click on your wakeup event and select Get Info.
    5.  For "alarm" select Open File.
    6.  Now under Open File there will be a place to add the file to open.  It will probably be some default entry (like iCal).  Click on it will allow you to select "other."  Then use the file dialog to select your playlist file.
Your Mac will wake you up at the appointed time.  You don't need to keep iCal running.  If you want to put you Mac to sleep for the night then there is one more thing you need to do.  Open System Preferences to Energy Saver and click on the Schedule button.  Check Start up or wake and set the wake up time to slightly before your iCal alarm time.

  • HOW DO I SET UP MY NEW MACPRO TO PLAY A RADIO STATION

How do I set up my macpro to play 3aw radio station?

Apps and media are forever tied to the AppleID used to download them.
You cannot transfer from downloads from one AppleID to another, nor
can you merge AppleIDs. If you wish to start using your own AppleID,
you will have to redownload all the items you wish - paying again under your
    AppleIDfor anything requiring payment.
Logout of iTunes under your old ID and login using the new ID.

Have you looked at Safari's menu bar > view> toolbars to see if it can be unchecked from there, also see if there is a button to collapse the toolbar on the bar itself.

  • Having iTunes automatically launch and play a radio station

    Hi,
Is there a way to have iTunes automatically launch and start playing a radio station under Windows XP?
I am running a small store and iTunes plays internet radio over airport express speakders. I would like to simplify the life of the employees by simply telling them (in case of crash or reboot) to simply double-click an itunes shortcut to have it open and play.
I noticed you can create an Apple script for Mac platforms, I hope there is an equivalent for Windows XP.
    Cheers,
    Lanceloz

iTunes is a little bit strange when it comes to streams, but you can just open the URL (from the info for your stream):
tell application "iTunes" to open location "http://radio2.digitalgunfire.com:8000"
... and since you posted in the Automator forum, you can make a workflow that searches for the name of your stream and starts iTunes playing, for example:
    1) Find Songs in iTunes (whose Name Contains digitalgunfire)
    2) Start iTunes Playing

  • I have no problems playing iTunes Radio stations thru my tv speakers but if I try to airplay spotify from any device it plays for a while then cuts out. Any suggestions?

I can play iTunes Radio stations via Apple TV through my tv speakers but if I try to airplay spot iffy the music cuts out after so many minutes. Any suggestions why or what I should do?

... sorry, my actual MacMini doesn't support a twin-monitor feature.. nor does my grafic card support a direct connection to a TV...
you should look in your prefs, Monitor, and should be able to set for the 2nd monitor some 768res/25fps .. .if your grafic card supports that mode.. (my old iBook G3 did it that way, but it is ... "retired" ....)

  • How can i play online radio stations using media player on my Mac?

I'm trying to listen to a local radio station online but when I click the listen live link it just brings me to a blank screen, I've downloaded a Mac compatible "Media Player" but not sure how to get this specific webpage to lauch using that? This may be a simple anwser but i'm stumped!!

What do you mean Keynote "son't open the DVDs"? That doesn't make sense. It's not up to Keynote to open the DVDs. The file that are ON the DVDs, yes. The DVDs, no. What kind of files are they, exactly?
Try downloading Open Office and see if you can open them with Impress, the presentation program included with the Open Office package.
If that won't work, you can get a 1 month trial of Office365 from Microsoft. It's $9.99 a month after the trial ends.

  • Can I play local radio stations through AppleTV?

Can I play local radion stations on AppleTV?
What is the best way to connect with my iMac and my AppteTV when the AppleTV exists in another room?

The AppleTV does not have an FM or AM tuner to pick up radio broadcasts.

Connect both to the same router via Wi-Fi or wired ethernet.

  • Add the option to play multiple radio stations/ shuffle radio

I love Spotify, the Radio works really well. The only thing mising is the ability to play, or shuffle multiple radio stations at the same time, like Pandora.
Please add the ability to shuffle radio stations.

I agree with all the comments here, however I will not be going back to Pandora, simply because they don't have enough music and after a while depending on what you're listening to, you get the same songs and almost always the same albums.  I love the Pandora shuffle feature as well but I think I can brave listing a song from the different genres I want and letting Spotify mix based on that until they give us this feature, which I hope will be soon.

  • Ipad won't play itunes radio in the car, help

my ipad 3 is running IOS 7 and used to play itunes radio via the cars sound system, it doesnt play anymore. Is this due to the version of IOS?

No, it's not due to the iOS. How are you connecting the iPad to the car sound system?

  • ITunes won't play the radio

This has been going on for about a week or two. I open iTunes and try to tune into a radio station but an error message keeps popping up...'An error occured while trying to contact the radio tuning service...try later'
Anyone else getting the same problem?
Believe it or not everyone, I thought I would just conduct a little experiment. I disabled my firewall, McAfee and the radio worked. If anyone is having problems with the radio and happens to use McAfee, disable the firewall.
    Problem solved :o)
    Thanks.
    Kate.

  • HT1551 Apple TV working perfectly until I used it to play some radio stations. Some stations gave "error occurred loading" try again later.  Most worked. Today, NONE work. ??? any ideas please.

Apple TV works okay - movies downloads, etc. It also worked using 'Radio'  but would occasionally inform me that a station could not be accessed due to an error loading the content and 'try again later'.
Now none of the stations I've tried - about 20 or so at random - will load - same answer every time.
    All other systems work fine.
    ??? Any suggestions please

    Welcome to the Apple community.
There seems to be rather more of this type of issue being reported currently, than there normally is, there may well be a problem with the servers. I would be inclined to wait a while, then try again later.

  • Xmms won't play streaming radio

    Hi all,
Just installed xmms to try and stream some radio from my ISP's unmetered mirror, but xmms doesn't appear to like opening URLs.
I'm trying to open http://www.internode.on.net/radio/radio.php/7.m3u but when I try and "Play Location" or "+ URL" (to the playlist), it opens the dialog to enter the URL, but when I click "OK", it just goes back to an empty list with nothing loaded. If I already had a playlist, it clears that playlist and leaves it empty for me.
Am I missing a plugin or something?

    El bumpo? Anyone?

  • IPhone won't play in Radio Dock after upgrading to 4.1

Hi, I recently upgraded to 4.1 from 3.1.2. Now when I plug my iPhone into my FM Radio/iPOD/iPhone clock radio it only plays out of the internal iPhone speaker. My friends IPOD Nano works in it, but not the iPhone. It was working up until the time I upgraded the OS to 4.1 on Saturday. Any help, guidance, ideas will be greatly appreciated.

    bbqueen2,
While many iPod accessories will work with the iPhone, not all of them will. I would recommend contacting the manufacturer of your cable to see if they certify it as "Works with iPhone" or if they have options for you.
This article discussed "Made for iPod" and "Works with iPhone" certifications:

    Hope this helps,
