Won't play video

Since using iCloud I have problems which I presume are related to data being downloaded on the fly.
When I try to play any music videos on my iPhone 4 I receive this message:
'This item can't be downloaded over a cellular network.
You must connect to a Wi-Fi network to use iTunes on your computer.'
When I play music there is a very long delay between songs, and in many cases the song stops in mid-play.
To compound my problems, I have two different iTunes accounts due to a mixup and lost password a few years ago.
I can access both my accounts now, but when I switch iCloud off for my iPhone - on iTunes it shows all the songs
in both libraries on my phone but I can only play songs and videos from one of the accounts.
If anyone can offer solutions to one or both of these problems I'd greatly appreciate it.
Cheers

try downloading Flip4Mac. It's free (or used to be, anyway), very highly rated, and plays all kinds of online video files, including wmv files. One place you can find it is at versiontracker.com (just put Flip4Mac in the Search box).
Check your DSL line speed too. One place to do this is at dslreports.com/tools. And if you only have 256K connection, that will cause video to stutter or hang... you'd need to upgrade to higher speed connection.

  • My .MP4 video file won't "play video full screen" in Muse after I publish my .OAM out of Edge Animate.

My .MP4 video file won't "play video full screen" in Muse after I publish my .OAM out of Edge Animate.  When I "Preview In Browser" through Edge it plays (I have created a shape and used the "play video full screen" snippet)  in full screen mode just fine.  When I "Preview Site In Browser" through Muse and click on the shape to PLAY VIDEO FULL SCREEN, it does nothing.  I am new to both programs and can't figure out why it will work out of the preview window in Edge and won't work when I publish to Muse.  Does anybody have an answer or a work-around for me?

Is it a Flash issue perhaps?

  • Flash player won't play videos in safari after I've installed Lion does anyone have a solution?

    Hi,
I've installed Lion after which Flash Player won't play videos with Safari. I keep being prompted to download and install the latest version of Flash Player whcih I've done several times. Can someone please help me fix this.
I find Adobe's announcement that there are no issues with Flash Player and Lion a bit of a sick joke.
    Many thanks,
    Ian Pickering

This sounds like the problems that Adobe have reported which are listed at
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/905/cpsid_90508.html#main_Flash_Player
I only use flash for watching video clips on the BBC website so haven't been affected by these other issues. The text below is copied from the website at the above link. Hope this helps.
The Flash Player Settings dialog box doesn't respond to mouse clicks. As a workaround, press the Tab key to move to the Close button and press the spacebar to close the dialog box. While not all settings are available, you can also use the Flash Player native control panel in System Preferences.
Custom native mouse cursors don't animate properly on Mac OS 10.7.

  • Quicktime won't play videos online. ???

I just downloaded quicktime, and then restarted my computer. But it still won't play videos online. I'm not sure if it is like this for all sites, but i have one site in particular that won't play videos. Any ideas? I have Windows 7 by the way.

I come across this a lot, actually. I'm tired of having to switch to Firefox in order to view certain quicktimes. Here's a clip that won't play for me:
    http://www.chartoonz.com/index.html
I can't figure it out because Safari will play quicktimes, even other h264 quicktimes, but then I'll run across an h264 on someone's site and I get the question mark.

I tried installing the latest iTunes to my housemate's PC, logging into iTMS with my account, authorizing his machine to play my content, restoring my iPod to the factory settings, downloading the videos and copying them to my iPod.
It worked fine, and I can play my videos.
I have done the exact SAME thing on my own home PC twice, after completely uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and the Apple Software Updater. But I still can't get any videos downloaded on my home PC to play on my iPods.
    Any thoughts?

  • Firefox won't play videos from YouTube, Hulu, etc. w/latest Flash version.

Despite following both Firefox and Flash directions, Firefox won't play videos from YouTube, Hulu, etc. They either never load or they load and freeze within seconds. Before I got the latest versions of Firefox and Flash, I did not have this problem. So there must be a problem in one or both of them. Since I understand from various websites that this is a widespread problem, can Firefox fix this? It's a major flaw in the latest Firefox version.

While on a YouTube page, right click the ABP icon and "open blockable items".

It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.
Audio (mp3, ogg) plays fine though.
I've tried to compile my own mplayer and that works great. Would be nice if the arch version worked as well

Tried it, but to the same result
What I found out is that the user can play videos from console with framebuffer at least. Not that it helps..

  • My mac won't play videos or games.

Basically, everytime I want to watch a video or play a game, it says blocked plug in. Even video ads won't play, and I don't know how to stop it. It was working before and I don't know what I did wrong.

Mine were taking forever to load too and consuming 100% of cpu for minutes.
I uninstalled the perian codec I had previously installed (delete Perian from HD/Library/Quicktime) and downloaded and installed the latest version 1.0
This speeded things up. In the same folder I also had 3ivx so I deleted that as Perian should be able to take care of things.
Things are now much faster and the cpu doesn't sit at 100% for 1-2 minutes before playing the video.
If it slows down again, I might uncheck the "play avi files" option in Flip 4 Mac as Perian is pretty good at covering these whilst Flip4Mac does a good job with wmv.
Anyway, this has fixed things for me.
    Best of luck

  • PSE 7 won't play videos

My PSE7 will play .mpg videos imported from my Sony DSC-T1 camera but won't play the .MOV videos imported from my newer Panasonic DMC-TZ3 camera. When I double click on a .MOV video thumbnail, I get a small version of the video player and the audio plays, but no picture appears.
The .MOV videos played fine with my Photoshop Album 2.0 before I upgraded to PSE7.
In searching the forums, I found one other person with the same problem, but the advice was to download an updated codec. There is no codec info with my new camera, and I wouldn't know what to do with it in any event. What can I do to play .MOV videos?
I have a Windows XP system with QT Player 7.5.5(249.26) and Windows Media Player 11 (current version). Any help would be appreciated!!

    Jeff,
    Just to check
    >The .MOV videos played fine with my Photoshop Album 2.0 before I upgraded to PSE7.
You mean that exactly the same video file played OK in PS Album 2 on the same PC? (the same PC part of this question is relevant because other software installed on the PC can impact whether a video file will play correctly or not)
The dcresource web site says that
    >You can record movies at either 848 x 480 (16:9) or 640 x 480 (4:3) at 30 frames/second. .... Movies are saved in QuickTime format using the M-JPEG codec. A capture of the first frame of the movie is saved as JPEG along with the movie.
1 -- Can you play this video from the Panasonic DMC-TZ3 using Windows Movie Maker 11?
2 -- Can you play this video from the Panasonic DMC-TZ3 file using Quicktime 7.5.5 player?
3 -- What did you choose in the camera for recording - the 848 by 480 or the 640 by 840? (there is also a lower resolution choice, I think - but I would not recommend it.

  • Pad 1 won't play video or music

Pad 1st gen won't play music or videos ...

Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If you post back and say that didn't work, I will not be surprised. You provided no information whatsoever that might be useful in trying to help. So when you post back, provide some details.

  • IPhoto won't play videos (with QT7), after renaming video files in Finder

    Hi folks,
My iPhoto9 played video files with Quick time when double clicking the video files in iPhoto. Yesterday I renamed approx 50 video files in Finder (double clicked and renamed them). Now iPhoto won't play them when double clickling. The only way to play them is to a) drag/drop to vlc or b) double click them in Finder.
How can I tell iPhoto to play the video files (interesting fact: the meta data still shows the video old file names)?
    Can anyone help me? Thanks!!!!
    Thanks
    AS

I have not changed default seetings, so I assume I'm running Managed libary.
The yes, that's the case. So, to do this you had to access the Package File and then rename the files. Wasn't the fact that the files are not directly accessible a hint?
I tried overwriting iLife09 (without deleting the version that was on -> it didn't help!!)
Nor would it. That might restore the applications (though without removing the receipts it won't be very effective) but the problem isn't the Applications. The problem is that you have corrupted the Library.
What if I delete iLife and reinstall it. Will iPhoto then be able to play the videos (that I previously renamed with Finder)?
No. Because, again, it will not undo what you did in the Library folder.
As you have no back up, you no have exactly one option: Create a new Library and start over from scratch, importing the originals from the Library you trashed.
    Regards
    TD
