Won't print centered from photoshop for my private business

My sister and I have started a small private business for design, including logos, invitations, business cards ect. We are running into problems while trying to print front and back on our Epson r3000 printer as well as our small canon printer whenever we use photoshop to print. I have tried scale to fit media, changing margins, clicking "Center Image" button, but when we feed it back through to print on the opposite side and use the same settings, the front and back are milometers to centimeters off at times. When we use our paper cutter we then either cut off some of the design or have a white edge... It is very inconvenient and we have an order of 300 invitations that need to be finished and sent to the customer early next week. Please, help would be much appreciated.

Are you feeding in the same leading edge of the paper?
If your printer has side guides, do you remember to switch (from left on the front to right on the backup) so that the same edge is used for reference when feeding in the sheet?

HP Officejet pro 8500 won't print and keeps asking for a proxy setting. Help.

    Hi,
Can you confirm that you have an Officejet 8500a or Officejet 8500? On the 8500a model, you can set the networks proxy address and port setting from the front panel of the printer (setup>Webservices setup>proxy). If you are unsure what your proxy settings are you'll need to contact your network admin. If your network uses a proxy users name and password for all devices, you need to enter this information along with the proxy address and port in the printers embedded web server. Type the products IP address into an internet brownser window (printer must be connected to the same network as PC). Select the network tab, and than look for the proxy settings option. Enter in the information and click apply. Once the networks proxy information has been correctly inputed into the embedded web server, try printing again. If unsuccessfully, you might try reinstalling the printer software after uninstalling it. Hope this helps!

  • My MG8120 won't print wirelessly from my MacBook running OS 10.9.5. Works fine with HP printers.

My MG8120 won't print wirelessly from my MacBook running OS 10.9.5 (Mavericks).  It works fine with all of the other HP printers in the office.  Another user has the same problem with her PC running Windows 7.  And she, too, has no problems printing on the other HPs.  I or she cannot print to any of three Canon printers in the office.

    Hi,
    Please try the following steps,
Download every updates from Apple and HP
Reset or Delete the printer from your mac (it may work trhough USB)
Reset all settings into default settings on your printer
Turn off or unplug mac, printer, modem, router
    Plug everything and reboot all
Reconnect the printer to home wifi network and mac also reconnect to the correct network

  • How can i export a 24bit avi file from photoshop for mac?

how can i export a 24bit avi file from photoshop for mac? i have a client that specificly needs the files to be avi and in 24bit what are the settings that i need to use to export the video using photoshop on a mac?

    Hello,
To make a 24-bit AVI file in Photoshop, go to File>Export>Render Video. Then, under File Options, choose AVI from the Quicktime Export drop-down menu. Click the Settings button. Click the Settings button in the AVI Settings window. Change Compression to None, and then choose "Millions of Colors" from the Depth drop-down under Compression.
The Millions of Colors option is for 24-bit video (8-bit R+G+B channels, 8x3=24). Millions of Colors+ is for 32-bit video (24-bit video plus an 8-bit alpha channel).

  • Cant print black from excel for mac 2011 anymore only colour

I can't print black from excel for mac 2011 anymore only colour. Can print normally from all other programs. Will not work from excel. Will only print colour. Have reinstalled printer drivers with no difference. Brand new mac so should be no font issues. I have to screen print all excel documents to print. Wont work if saved as PDF either. Am looking for suggestions. Have checked all preferences and settings. Tried fine and fast - no difference. Comes out blank. Will only print colour. HELP!

I have a variation of this same problem.  I maintain a bunch of Microsoft Excel 97-2004 Workbooks.  Some of these documents print in colour (actually a light grey colour), while others print in black ink.  I cannot discern the difference between the documents and why the difference in printing.
Thanks in advance for your assistance,

Hi! I've switched from "Photoshop for Photographers" to a full yearly 30$/month subsciption, but the "Photoshop for Photographers" still stays. Is that a bug, or a feature? Also, if it's a feature, should I early-cancel it, or will that change my new subscription price?

i don't see it as much of a feature because you're getting nothing for that $10/mo.  cancel it.

  • How to print to Canon CD printer directly from Photoshop?

I'm looking for a way to print CDs (to Canon ip8500 and ip4300 printers) directly from Photoshop. I'm on x64 where Canon's CD Lable-print won't run, besides which I'd much prefer to print from Photoshop anyway. Is there a plug-in, a work round, a clever trick?! Can anyone help at all?

That is an issue of the printer driver, so you will need to contact the printer vendor to see if they have a 64bit printer driver which includes the commands to activate the CD printing function (as far as I know, this requires activating a different part of the printer hardware, to use a CD tray)
Without an option in the printer software to use that CD tray, I don't think any program will work

  • Printing problem from Photoshop CS2 to HP 3500CP plotter

I am running Photoshop CS2 on the computer connected to my 3500CP plotter. I have for the past few years had no problem printing. This past several days tried to proint a banner for my daughter's birthday and whenI go from Print with Preview to start the print it shows the plotter is receiving the file. The plotter automatically does a printhead check and then shows it is printing but then just starts rolling a blank page out until I stop it and reset everything. I have run several tests on the plotter and all come back good so I am guessing it is coming from Photoshop though I am doing nothing different than I have before. I hope someone has a suggestion sisnce I need this banner before Friday. My daughter turns 33 on 11/11/11. Thank you in advance.

Well... I fixed the problem a little differently. I got a 100% + costs refund from HP themselves and bought an Epson! Boy, was that ever the right decision to make. I've had not a single problem with the Epson where the HP gave me a litany of endless drama. I can't understand why a printer maker needs to create faulty and bug ridden software that wants to take control over both Windows and Photoshop and then they try and blame everyone except themselves.
The HP Z5400 postscript printer proved one important thing to me... You only ever get what you pay for. I run canvas about4 to 5 hours a day with the Epson. I had to stay at work past 8 hours a day just to get the same amount of work out of the HP. For speed, I've never had anything faster than a Canon 8100 but the hidden costs of ownership are horrendous. The HP was the cheapest printer I've had and the slowest. The Epson is economical to run, performs at a reasonable speed and doesn't have any hidden costs.
After 5 months of hassling HP to get the "next day, on-site" support I paid $1200 extra for and never got, I can guarantee you I'll never , ever own another Hewlett Packard product again. I had to go to the Asian Pacific head off to get anyone who'd listen to me. The Australians wanted me to sign a form I'd keep my mouth shut and sacrifice nearly a grand I'd put into it before talking about a refund. Then I discovered they'd been fined 3 MILLION bucks by the competition and consumer watch dog in Australia over telling someone who bought a $200 printer to go take a walk when it dropped its guts a few weeks after buying it. That mob is pure poison for consumers.

  • Problems printing PSD from Photoshop CS4

My questions are: Does the PSD file have the printer information encoded?
Also why has this just started to show up? My wife has work successfully under the same conditions, files moved and printed on different printers, with no problems in the past.
I (we) have been struggling with a recent problem trying to print PSD files from Photoshop CS4. (Vista 32 bit, Epson 3880 networked)  When trying to print certain, but not all, PSD files I get the message: "Before you can perform printer-related tasks such as page setup or printing a document, you need to install a printer."  I have been in contact with Adobe support about the issue but with little in the way of positive results.  I was referred to a kb link: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/409/kb409119.html   Tried all that to no avail.  (The first suggestion is absurd to the point of making me wonder what process is used to construct the kbs.  You cannot open the print menu when you get this message so....?)
Other solutions are not acceptable for the work my wife is doing, editing high quality photographs for an exhibition with test prints and so on.  We are under intense time pressue with four shows coming up in a very short time.  The final solution offered is that CS5 has solved all of this.  Hum?  interesting.  No comment except new program, new problems so not a real solution for us.
In searching the web about this problem I have come across many other people with the same problem working from different platforms and even different Adobe products.  I noticed that the MAC OS seemed to cause the same problem and that there was a problem with Reader and Acrobat.  In every case the problem is never solved by Adobe or anyone else and users find some "workaround".  I too have found what we hope is a workaround in our contiued travels on the blogosphere, on flickr http://www.flickr.com/groups/wellington/discuss/72157621548183001/ as "...a nasty, nasty solution" but we skipped the flatten part and the GIMP part and resave the PSD under a different name.
Adobe does seem supportive but not that interested (CS4 right) but I would like to find a real solution and I think many people would benefit from it.
Anyway what I have found is that the PSD files that will not print have been printed on another printer at some time in the past. In my case the Printer was an Epson Artisan A50.  The printer we are using now is the Epson Stylus Pro 3880.  Even when trying to print wirelessly to the 3880 from the laptop (Was Vista, now Windows 7) that was used to edit and print with the A50, (USB connection) we saw the same error.  So it seems that the printer information is somehow embedded in the PSD file (also mentioned in a Blog) and is keeping PS from seeing the printer because the same printer is not there.
Has anybody already found the fix?
I know this is a long post but I have been working on this problem and have heard all of the pat and frankly useless answers and workarounds.  Can we find a solution and fix the problem?

Tech support put me on hold for about 30 minutes to 'look up my serial number'.  When he came back he started saying he did find my serial nu..... and he hung up.  I had already given him my callback number.  Yet he never called me back when we were 'disconnected'. There is no excuse for him not calling me back.  I have no reason to believe this was anything other than intentional avoidance of the problem.  Before he started looking up my serial number, he told me that Photoshop didn't support working with files on a network drive (???).  He also told me that even if it was found to be an actual defect in the product, I still owed the $39.  The $39 was "not for finding the defect... it was for the technician's time.... (???)  Where do they find these people to answer the phones?
Sorry about the venting... I'm just losing money by the day, and I get to pay for these kinds of moronic statements.
Here's the situation, yet one more time.....
    1) I complete a PSD file and save it
    2) I print it on one of the printers accessible by that machine
    3) I then try to close the PSD, but it says the 'file has changed'  The ONLY thing that has changed is that I PRINTED it.  So you can't tell me PS is not saving at least something about the printing task in the file
    4) If I say 'no' to the save-after-print question, I can go to another computer, open the same file and print with no problem
    5) If I say 'yes' to the save-after-print question, and I go to another computer and try to print the file, I get the "In order to perform printing tasks you must define a printer" message
    6) This scenario applies to any machine.  Once I hit 'save' after printing, that PSD can now never be printed on any other machine other than that one.
    7) And this is a user problem (???)
    Somebody please tell me:
    1) why PS marks a file 'changed' and requires saving after doing nothing other than printing it if it is not saving printer history/setup in the file?
    2) Why I can print the PSD from any computer with PS installed as long as I don't do a save after printing from one, but as soon as I do a save after print, the file is basically locked permanently to that one machine forever?
Right... and they want a minimum of $39 to tell me a) this is a user problem, b) Photoshop doesn't support files on a shared network drive; c) "...NO.... we don't save printer information in the file, and d) get hung up on with no callback.
I have 40 years of experience in software architecture and development.  I know enough to know a little bit about how these things work.  And I also have been around long enough to recognize intentional denial of a product defect by the support team.

  • Poor B&W print quality from Photoshop CS4

    First a definition:
    - Half-tone: this is a gray scale printing process that is required for an printer that can print only Black & White.  It allows a B&W printer to be able to appear to have the ability to print grayscale.  The higher the printer resolution, the less noticeable the half-tone dots or dithering will be.
The problem with Photoshop CS4 seems to be that, when you use it's print option, it's half-tone is very coarse and does not reflect the resolution capability of the destination printer, in my case, a LaserJet4.   If I take the same print and print it from Bridge CS4, the half-tone is correct for the resolution of the printer and the print looks great.  Also, from Photoshop CS4, if you do a save-as a .pdf and then print the .pdf, the print looks great, as well.
Keep in mind that the printer driver settings (which there are few) have not been changed during this testing.
My conclusion is that the problem is with Photoshop CS4 print option and I cannot find anyway in Photoshop to change the half-tone settings there.  Further, if I use the exact same print with the exact same printer settings, it will print correctly from other graphics programs.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.  In my lab, most of the printing is B&W for court exhibits and such.
    Thanks, Jonathan
    Image And Sound Forensics

    Zeno,
Ok.  But the printer works correctly if I do a save-as .pdf and print the
pdf.  Or do the same from Bridge.   So, how can it be the printer or printer
driver when it works correctly elsewhere in Photoshop and Bridge?

  • InDesign (CS 5.5) won't print fonts from a file that prints correctly in CS 3

    Hello,
I installed CS 5.5 last night and installed all of the updates (on Windows XP with SP3). I have an Okidata B4300 laser printer with Postscript 3 emulation installed. Several typefaces (both True Type and Open Type, 4 fonts tested so far) are not printing from InDesign CS 5.5, but when I open the same file in CS 3, it prints correctly. All of the fonts are installed in the Windows font folder and have worked for years. No printing errors in Photoshop CS 5.5 or in Word.
I've been going through the "troubleshoot printing/PDF export problems in InDesign" guide, focusing on the application level. Here's what I've done so far:
    1. Restarted the program, printer, system
    2. Did a disk cleanup, defragmented the system, and ran an error check
    3. Recreated the InDesign preference files
    4. Downloaded the Adobe Universal Postscript Windows Driver
Each time I try to print my test file, I encounter the same error--
    Error: undefined
    Offending command: @FS
    Stack:
    6.81257
    4.60767
    9.74377
    9.86353
    -mark-
And then, in parentheses, it prints the text that should have printed.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks for your help.
    Jill Shultz

    Hi Dov,
Just to double-check: you meant delete the Adobe Universal PS Driver and reinstall the Okidata PS driver, right?
I wasn't complaining about the situation; if there was anything in the tone of my message that pricked, I'm sorry. I know Adobe doesn't purposefully cause problems or make its software unnecessarily picky. That would be bad business. And I only asked about the possibility of a glitch because I was working with my back turned away from this CPU as it did the installation, so if there had been a momentary warning, I would likely have missed it. Glitches happen, even to the best software.
I was asking questions hoping for another test that might provide a definitive answer. I know that doesn't always happen when troubleshooting, but it's a lovely goal, especially with the looming specter of hardware replacement.
The Oki printer has been a workhorse under heavy use, so I wouldn't replace it unless it was really necessary. In fact, if the reinstallation of the Oki driver doesn't fix the problem, then I'll probably test all of the typefaces to see which ones work straight up and which require the PDF workaround. I might live with the problem for a while.
Is there any info on the Adobe site about which printers implement PS correctly?
Thanks for all of your help!
    Jill

  • Print materials from Photoshop instead of Illustrator

    Hi all,
I occasionally have to print signage, and usually  "design in Photoshop> import graphics into Illustrator> replace text in Illustrator> save as PDF".
I just designed a 300dpi effects heavy image, and am wondering about the ability to save from Photoshop without having to mess with Illustrator. I've seen mention of "exporting in vector format" and it is 300dpi.
= Is my work-flow the most efficient way to do it?
= Can I essentially save/export a PDF from Photoshop that will keep the text vector and print as it would if exported from Illustrator?
Your advice and input is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,

For the first question I think it is not efficient. For efficiency I would either 1) Use only Illustrator or 2) Use only Photoshop or 3) Do your design in Illustrator and import into Photoshop. The last option probably depends on the subject matter of the document, but still the output options from Photoshop are preferred by some over Illustrator.
Question 2: You can get high quality PDF output from Photoshop. Below is a small portion of a pdf file created by Photoshop and shown in Acrobat. It is being shown at 2400% magnification and shows 30 pt vector text and portions of two circles. The circle on the right is a simple pixel rendering and the circle on the left is a vector shape - the difference is evident.
If you work in Photoshop alone I would suggest starting with two pieces of information to create your initial working document - the number of pixels per inch (not printer dots/inch) you think you need and the size of the desired printed document - multiply them. If you wanted 500 pixels/inch and a 6" x 4" print then set your photoshop document to 3000 x 2000 pixels (minimum). Also, use vector elements in your document wherever possible.

  • Printing problem from photoshop

Hi, I moved from a PC to an iMac in February this year - and up till now things have been going well.
    Here is the problem:
I'm trying to print from Photoshop CS5 onto photo paper, but for some reason this is not going well.
I've tried playing around with the settings I get for the printer from Photoshop - but with no luck.
Here are some pics of what is happening:
Printing on photo paper but in black and white...
Printing on photo paper in color...
    What I'm using
OSX (Snow Leopard with latest updates)
    Photoshop CS5
HP Deskjet 5552 (with latest drivers from HP)
Will be very grateful of any help - or just to know that someone else is having the same problem.
    Cheers

  • Printing problems from Photoshop Elements to Epson XP-800

I cannot print photogrpaic images with my desktop MAC (OS X10.8.4) from Photoshop Elements 9.0 to my new Epson XP-800 printer. Printing is not a problem with  Word text or images from iPhoto- it is only with PSE that there is a problem.  The problem persists even if I try using a cabled connection rather than WiFi.  I have ensured latest software from Epson has been downloaded.  This problem did not occur when using the same system with the previous printer (Epson Photo Stylus 1290).
Any suggestions for solving this rather than just a workaround of moving the edited PSE image back to iPhoto & printing from there (which admittedly does work but shouldn't be necessary).
    Grateful for any help.

  • Printing Issue: Colors print fine from Photoshop but washed out in Illustrator

I am having trouble printing from Illustrator.  The same image...whether cut and pasted, opened in, or using the swatch created....prints differently in Photoshop and Illustrator.  I need to use this specific color (for branding purposes) and it prints fine in Photoshop but washed out and grey-ish in illustrator.
I've made sure the color settings are the same (in bridge) and made sure all the print settings are the same.  It is the same color on the screen, and in detail, but the print output is clearly different.  Any help please??

If I print from Acrobat, everything is washed out and greyed -  both the PDF from Illustrator and the PDF saved from Photoshop.
I tried letting the printer decide and I tried set to illustrator - both washed out and greyed.
