WON'T PUT BOUGHT SONGS ON iPOD

My iBook's USB ports randomly wouldnt read anything one day. I plugged in my SLVR AND my iPod but it still didn't pick either up. But the next day I plugged both in and they worked fine. Then later that day I plugged my ipod in again, and it was read as a mini ipod and said my iPod updater software was too old. It won't put ANY songs that I've bought on OR any videos becuase I guess my software just reverted to the old kind or something? I tried downloading the ipod updater software and when its finished downloading, it fails, and underneath the file it reads "Mounting Failed." Any ideas how I can dowload the right software OR just get back my old ipod software, when it used to be AWESOME and let me put what I wanted to put on my iPod?

Consider upgrading to OS 10.4.6. Sometimes there are system conflicts that get resolved when up upgrade. It might allow the ipod updater to install.

  • My Ipod won't play bought songs from Itunes

I have a new ipod nano, and it plays songs that I upoad to iTunes from CD, but not ones I buy from the itunes store, they come up and my ipod skips right over them. the only difference I can find between bought songs and songs I upload from CD's is the extension on the bought songs is 'm4p' and the ones from CD's is 'm4a'.
the songs play on itunes, but not my nano, which is confusing cuz I thought iTunes was made for ipods?

See this: iPod does not play content purchased from the iTMS.
If you have made sure that both the iTunes and iPod software are current and have deauthorized and reauthorized your computer, try this test:
    1. Deauthorize the computer.
    2. Create a new user in the system.
    3. Download the free song of the week from the iTMS in the new user account.
    4. Play the song in that user account to authorize again.
    5. Restore the iPod (using the iPod updater) in the new user account.
    6. Sync just the free song of the week and see if it plays on the iPod.
If it does, you appear to have a corrupted iTunes library file, and you should recreate the iTunes library file in your normal user account, and then sync your music back to the iPod and all should be well.

  • Cant put "purchased" songs on "iPOD"

Im sure its just because of this new version of iTunes I can remeber several updates where one was messed up and giving various errors. I think it was 6.2 to 6.5 and then a week later an update came out and fixed it.
I was using 7.0.2 and it was working fine. I recently purchased "korn unplugged" and "sevendust alpha" Now I can not manually move the songs to my iPOD.
I tried moving from one playlist to the other and that odly put the songs in the playlist on the iPod but the song count didnt go up and the songs didnt appear under IPOD>Music. When i click on the songs in the playlist i get an exclaimation point on the left like it cant find the file. Oddly enough the songs plays fine in iTunes, they just don't transfer to the iPod.
I deleted a song on the iPod, reset it and tested it, the song was not a newly purchased song and it went right on to the iPOD so i tried a "korn unplugged" song. Same thing happens, same results, cant transfer one of my newly downloaded songs.
Updated to 7.1.1 (which installed fine), but....same thing, old songs transfer fine new songs wouldnt transfer. My software for the iPOD is 2.3 and that is the latest version. I reloaded the software and that made no difference.
I know the 5 Rs and the hidden folder fixes, those didnt do anything.
I have never had a problem with my iPOD, but cant seem to quit having problems with iTunes and purchased music. All those filters to keep the RIAA happy are really messing stuff up, authorizing, protected aac's are annoying, they never used to be 'this annoying'
I have come to the conclusion this is another bad update for iTunes and next week there will be a fix. But if someone can persude me otherwise, im all ears.

  • Cannot put new songs on ipod nano with itunes 11

I upgraded to iTunes 11.1 and now cannot put new songs on my son's iPod nano (gen6, 1.2PC). Help, please.

An iPod will not (and cannot) have iTunes 11 on it. If you mean you want to sync your iPod from your computer with iTunes 11, just connect the iPod and click its name in the header bar. Or go to the View menu in iTunes and select "Show Sidebar" and you'll have an interface substantially the same as in earlier versions of iTunes.
    Regards.

  • How to put one song on ipod touch from mac without syncing all files

I have been trying since I got my ipod touch in 2012 to put just one or two songs onto my ipod without syncing all the music on my mac coumputer. Every time I plug my ipod into my computer, and try to put one song to my ipod, it syncs every music file that is on my computer to my ipod. Please help. Thanks!!!

Well, you could turn on the sidebar... but rather, just connect your iPod and click on it. You'll be taken to the iPod screen, with "Summary", "Apps", "Music", etc. along the top. On the Summary page somewhere, you should find a checkbox that says "Manually Manage Music and Video".
(Pretty much) all the features from iTunes 10 are still present in iTunes 11. All iTunes 11 got was a new interface.

  • Won't play some songs on ipod but will in itunes

This is concerning an ipod w/color (4th generation I guess)............
All of a sudden, some of the songs won't play on the iPod but they will play when I connect the iPod to itunes and the song list comes up. When I try to play the same song just on the ipod itself it skips down to the next song.
    Any ideas?

i got the same problem, happened with "Now its on" and currently with "My Wife, My *****, My Girl", both by Tech N9NE. i ended up just getting now its on from limewire. i think the song for download might be faulty becuase i even deleted the song from my computer and bought it again, but to no avail. as well, i took the song off my ipod and put it on again, which also didn't work. I suggest just finding it on the internet in some other way

  • Itunes won't download all songs to ipod

Whenever I try to update or add more songs to my ipod it states that certain music could not be added to my ipod because my computer is not authorised to play those songs. But all of the songs that won't load are the ones I purchased from itunes music store. It's the same computer and nothing has changed. It happened after I bought a new album from the itunes music store. Any sugestions

Play the songs in iTunes first (just a few seconds) and then update the iPod.

  • How do I put my songs from iPod on my comp??

DO NOT attach & sync your full iPod to an empty iTunes!!!
These links will give you several methods of recovering whatever songs remain on your iPod; some free, some third-party software, some more comprehensive for restoring Playlists, Ratings, Play Counts, etc. Read them and their associated links before deciding on a strategy that works for you. There are many various third-party software programs that will offer a more robust process, or an easier GUI. Do a Google search for them if the links below leave you wanting…

MacMuse: Computer Crashed (free user steps – music recovery only)
Copying music from iPod to computer (a primer on various methods and software)
Copying Songs from Your iPod to a Mac or PC (resource for 3rd party software)
    iPodRip Software
    PodUtil Software
Senuti (Mac OS X v10.3 or higher Recovery Utility)
XPlay (Windows software For Music Recovery &/or Cross-Platform Functionality)
XPlay Photo Browser (For recovering Photos)
Extremely Simple Method: (just to recover the song files – may not work on a Mac)
    1 - Open iTunes
    2 - Edit=>Preferences=>’Advanced/General’ tab
2a --- Select ‘Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library’: checked
2b --- Select ‘Keep iTunes Music folder organized’: checked
2c --- Click OK to store changes
3 - Attach your iPod to the PC and hold down the ‘Shift+Ctrl’ keys until the iPod is fully recognized (this will defeat the auto-sync process)
4 - If you get a dialog box to link the Library, decline this option
    5 – Within iTunes: File=>Add Folder
6 - Browse to and open ‘My Computer’ (click on the ‘+’) and select the iPod
    7 - Click OK
8 - The music files should start to transfer back into iTunes
8a –- this will take some time depending on your PC and the amount of songs on the iPod
No Playlists, or Ratings, Last Played, & Play Count attributes will be transferred from the iPod to iTunes using this method
After recovering your song files, strongly consider developing a thorough backup strategy for just this type of situation (and many other potential disasters).
You need at least two full sets of your music, not including what is on the iPod:
-- One full set on the PC within iTunes (on internal HD or ExHD)
-- One full set on an separate external backup medium (CD/DVD/ExHD/other)
-- One (full or partial) set on the iPod
Music files on just the iPod and only one other medium is not considered having any backup.
If you cannot store your complete music files on the computer’s internal HD, then create and maintain at least two external sets (any multiple combinations of ExHDs, DVDs, CDs).
Backup both the music files and the Library database file (iTunes Library.itl). What are the iTunes Library files?

ITunes 11 is not that much different than previous levels in handling music. In iTunes choose "Show sidebar" from the View menu and it will be more familiar.

  • ITUNES WON'T SYNC MUSIC ONTO MY IPOD!!!!!!

k, so a while ago, i was messing around with realplayer, and noticed that i could make it the program to put music on my ipod(i already have itunes) and now, itunes won't put music on my ipod, i press sync and it shows up for a second then says complete, i check my ipod and the new songs aren't on it, and realplayer screwed up so i uninstalled that thinking itunes would then become the main source of putting music on my ipod, so does anyone know how to make itunes the main program for music syncing on my ipod?

So you have 1550 songs in your iTunes library on your dad's computer, but only 130 synced to the device and only 22 (the purchased songs) will actually play on the device?  Is that correct?
How is your iPod configured to sync music from your iTunes library on your dad's PC?  In other words, what options do you have enabled from under the iPod's Summary and Music configuration tabs in iTunes?
