Won't read my memory card

Hello! My macbook pro won't read my memory card (transcend) anymore. It used to work fine but I don't know why just recently it won't. I've tried the little lock and unlock option on the card but still nothing.
Help?

    Hello Warren
    Welcome to http://supportforums.blackberry.com/
Try within the WhatsApp application, and in the menu, under Settings, disable theMessage History. After connecting the phone or PC, meteos on the card and on the"Databases" folder and delete the "WhatsApp" off and enter the application againconfiguration folder and activate the recorded history in the memory card .

Iphoto won't recognize my memory card anymore (since a month ish?) but the mac itself does and puts the icon on the desktop.  How do I get it to recognize it again?

Thank you so much for responding.  I will look for the other disks.
One more question - I initially decided to do this because my Mac kept opening with the date changed to 2008, and I keep having to re - enter my Web key.  In addition, it was running much slower.  Since I 'cleaned' everything out, I thought all would work perfect.  This morning, the date changed to 2008; again AND it again asks for my Web key.  Does this mean my Mac has reached it's almost end or could I have a 'bug' on it?
Again, thanks so much for your suggestions.

  • BB Curve 9220 not reading the memory card

    Hello,
    I have a Blackberry Curve 9220
    v7.1.0.746 , Platform 9.50.0.80
1 week ago I was using this phone and that time i didnt have a memory card in this device. I opened wechat and it showed either to insert memory card or to disable usb mass storage in this device. I didnt have a memory card that time, so, i tried todisable the usb mass storage and I did that.
Today, I inserted a memory card in this device, it shows that "Media Card is presently not inserted in this device"
When I searched the internet I got some solutions. They showed that to enable mass storage mode and check media card support on.
I turned Media Support set to ON.
I have made sure that the media card is formatted and inserted properly.
    BUT
When i pressed the option (BB Logo key) button , it didnt show the option to enable  usb mass storage. It just showed these options : "Switch app" ,"Select Text" , "Save" , "Help" , "Close".
There is no option to enable usb mass storage and it is not reading the memory card
Please tell me what to do !
    Thankyou

    Hi Manabb04
Enable or disable USB mass storage mode
If you connect your BlackBerry smartphone to your computer using a USB cable but does not appear as a drive on your computer, you may need to activate the USB mass storage.
On the Home screen or in a folder, click the Options icon.
    Click Device> Storage.
Press  > Enable USB mass storage.
If necessary, type the password for the smartphone.
Your smartphone appears as a drive on your computer.
To disable USB mass storage mode, press  > Disconnect.

  • Why won't LR read my memory card properly and import the photographs which are clearly there on it?

I'm attempting to transfer my photographs from a large wedding shoot off of my Canon Mark 2 5D and onto Lightroom, the way I always do.  Today, after transfering one memory cards images without a glitch, there seems to be a problem reading images for my 2nd memory card's contents to be transfered to LightRoom.  Although the images come up as thumbnails initially, when I am starting the Import process, when I proceed, LR tells me "No Photos or videos were found to import."
I have restarted both camera and LR multiple times but it does this same thing every time.  Also, it says "Preparing to Import" at this stage of the game, but nothing ever happens.  How can I fix this issue?  Super important work, this needs to happen soon,
    Thank you.
    -Airyka

This sounds to me like a hardware problem.
It could be a bad card reader or USB cable, bad USB port, bad camera card, or maybe a bad hard disk on your computer.
If you have a different hardware way to hook up your camera card to your computer, I would give that a try.

  • Laptop will not read any memory cards

    Laptop Model: Satellite P500 (PSPE8C-026006)
I have tried several times to get this memory card reader to work. At first, I tried putting in a memory stick PRO Duo with the memory stick pro adapter (so that it could read it), and I was getting a "File I/O" error and that the stick had to be formatted. I tried again with several other different sticks and got the same error. I then tried to update the drivers for the device and still no luck. But now, the memory stick is not even being detected at all.
Could someone please give me a good link to the latest driver for this memory card reader + how and where the device will appear on the Device Manager list so I know it's properly installed.

  • Iphoto doesn't read my memory card

Hi! I just switched to a mac so i don't really know my ways yet.
anyway, i was importing pictures to iphoto from a memory card using a USB memory card reader, then all of the sudden when i closed Iphoto and opened it again, my memory card can no longer be read.I tried my other CF and Memory sticks but with no luck.
I did eject the memory card properly. there was this one time though that i forgot to eject it and removed the memory card.
what do i do now? help!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. First lets get those photo off the card by dragging them to a folder on the desktop and import from there. Next delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder, reformat the card with the camera, take a couple of test shots and try again. See if that helps.
If the time you forgot to eject the card correctly was that last time you used the card then reformatting it with the camera should fix it.
For what its' worth I recommend uploading from a card reader to a folder on the desktop first. This assures that the files get safely on the hard drive before any other action is started. Then reformat the card for the next shoot using the camera. If you name that folder to describe what the photos are about the Event will also have that name. I also sequentially batch rename the files with the date of the shoot and a brief description.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
Note: There's now an Automator backup application for iPhoto 5 that will work with Tiger or Leopard.

  • Reading a memory card in iphoto

I was able to export to a memory card in a card reader that opened in the finder window when I plugged it in, and can view the card images on the computer. But my camera does not recognize that there are any images on the card. Moreover, Iphoto recognizes the card reader, but says there are no images on the card.

What do you want to do with these memory card images?
If you want to import them into iPhoto, open ImageCapture (found in your Applications folder) and see if IC recognizes them. Then, select them and download them to a file on your computer. Once that is done, you can remove the card reader and import the downloaded photos that are in the folder you specified.

  • MacBook Pro won't read the sdxc card from Panasonic GH2

I've got a MacBook Pro running 10.5.8. Just took my first pictures/video with the GH2 using a Lexar 64GB SDXC card. When plugging in the USB cable that came witht the camera I got - "The disk you inserted was not recognized by this computer". Does anyone out there have the GH2 that has experienced this problem? Solution? I've written to Lexar but so far they've been no help. I know the file system for this card is FAT32 which is a PC format.  I know this card will work with the Mac...but how is it accomplished?

Your easiest & cheapest way to transfer the camera pictures is to buy (about $10 - $20) a USB memory card reader. Just plug your camera's memory card into it & copy the pic files to your Mac. Quicker & easier than interfacing the camera for pic transfer.

  • Won't read the SD Card after going in for repairs

HELP - my 8520 curve won't read it's SD card? i know it's definately not the card as my wife just got a new BB also and it came with a brand new card that can't be read either. Thought i could live with it............ but can't. You can't have any music, video content etc............  My first blackberry died in a pint of guiness (don't ask), i took the sd card out before the insurance claim and had my fingers crossed that it would have survived the black death, but when my new replacement BB came it couldn't read the card.......... which i thought was down to the black stuff - initially.
However since then i've tried different cards leaving me to believe i may still have the data on the original and that the phone or card reader is cream-crackered? any clues?........ thanks in advance.

I've read on some forums this could be a card formatting issue, anyone got any thoughts on that?

  • MBP won't read my SD card?

    So here's the issue:
My MacBook Pro won't read my 4GB SD card from my camera. I was able to transfer all of my images earlier this afternoon but now it plainly won't show up. I checked Finder, I checked Disk Utility, and nothing. The Nikon software doesn't recognize it either. It's not like I have a whole boatload of photos to transfer (I only have four pics to transfer). Earlier, I installed the software after I ejected the card, but did not put it back in afterwards. Could it have something to do w/ the software I just downloaded?

If you are using a DSLR camera, like for example a Canon 60D, there may be an option to use a "Low-Level Formatting" on the card. This should make it writable when putting it into the computer.
To test this (and confirm it works) I did the following:
    Hardware Used:
    Canon 60D camera body
    Sandisk 32GB SDHC Extreme Card
Macbook Pro 15" (mid 2010 model) with built-in SD card slot.
    Steps:
Place SDHC card into camera (SD card may work as well). Navigate through menu until you arrive at settings that allow the camera to format the card. There may be an option to format it "low-level", which you would then select.
-Note that all files on card will be erased permanently.-
After the camera formats, eject the card from the camera, and place inside the built-in SD slot on the Macbook.
The card should automatically mount, containing both read and write priviledges.
    Hope that helps.

  • IPhoto won't recognize my memory card anymore

Usually when I put my camera memory card into my laptop, it shows up in my iPhoto and asks to download the pictures that I have not yet downloaded...today iPhoto is not recognizing my same memory card and it not even opening in iPhoto.  I know there was an iPhoto update recently...is it something to do with that?  Has anyone had this experience or know what I can do?  Thanks!!

Have you tried any of the following?
Restarting your computer?  Repairing permissions?  Zapping the pram?
Please describe in detail all you have attempted to do in order to resolve the issue.
Which os version are you using?

  • My 6500 slide could not read my memory card!

    Hello everyone,
My 6500 slide works fine until now. All of sudden, The phone does not read my 1 GB memory card. It said "No memory card found" when I try to check phone memory. Data storage also not available. Please help!
    sondang

Take the back of the phone off.
The window in the back, which has the cover for the lens, has a rim around it.  Part of this rim is raised up - this is the contact to enable the phone to see the memory card.
What happens over time is that the case on the phone may become compressed and the contact gets flattened down.
What you need to do is slide a thin flat blade scredriver under the raised part, and carefully twist the blade to raise the contact upwards, very slightly (~1mm).
Put the back of the case back on the phone.
    Worked fine for me!

  • MacBook Pro won't read Sandisk SDHC cards since Lion 10.7.1 update

Hi all, just wondering if anyone else has had this problem. I know there are dozens of posts about SD cards not working with MacBook pros, but mine seems to have started when I installed the latest Lion update.
I have a high-end 13" early 2011 MBP and the cards I'm having trouble with are all Sandisk 4GB SDHC. Two are 'Extreme III's" and one is an Extreme II. The card reader is showing up in System Profiler, and a really old 2GB Sandisk card gets read fine, so there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the MBP hardware.
Similarly, I can read the cards fine via a USB adapter, so it's not the cards that are causing the problem.
I had successfully imported photos from the cards before upgrading to Lion, and also before installing the 10.7.1 update. So, it looks like the problem may be linked with the update, but this is purely an educated guess.
I've tried resetting the SMC to no avail.
Has anyone else experienced something like this?

I've got the same problem. I've got a late 2010 MacBook Pro unibody running Mac OS 10.7.1 on it. I installed the 10.7.1 updated most likely on 8/17/11 the day after it was released by Apple. Since then I was able to read SDHC cards as I shot a number of photos and videos to my cards and they worked fine.
I'm not sure what has changed since then, it wasn't as simple as the 10.7.1 update then it didn't work. This is the problem I'm having below, just started to experience this on 9/2/11. I tested with two 32GB SDHC cards, one 16GB SDHC card and one 2GB SD card. All cards were manufactured by Transcend.
    FAIL:
    * SDHC cards (16GB and 32GB) will not mount and isn't recognized by the MBP via the built-in SD card slot
    * SDHC cards (16GB and 32GB) will not mount and isn't recognized by the MBP via SanDisk 2.0 card reader connected via a short USB cable.
    * If I put any SDHC card into a SanDisk USB 2.0 reader that is connected to my USB hub (I gave it a try in case there was a power problem with the MBP USB system) the card is not recognized either.
    * Even Disk Utility will not see the card when inserted via built-in card slot or a reader.
    SUCCESS:
    * SD cards (2GB) mount fine when inserted either in the built-in SD card slot or via my SanDisk USB 2.0 reader.
    * If I leave the SDHC card in my camera (Canon 60D) and connect the camera to my MBP via USB I can import the images via Aperture.
    * If I put the SDHC card into the memory card slot reader of my HP inkjet printer (it has multiple card slots for different types) the card will mount normally like it is supposed to via the two failed methods above.
I'm also sending this info to Apple but wanted to post here since there are three inconvenient work-arounds.

  • Desktop manager for mac will not read the memory card

I have a Storm and the desktop manager does everything correctly except it will not recognize the media card for music.  It says "please insert a media card in your device."  Ive got the 8GB microSD card and it shows up in the phone memory but i cant load any music from my computer.

OK, I spent an hour and a half on the phone with RIM support this morning trying to fix this very thing with SUCCESS!!!  Here is what you need to do.  Keep in mind that this fix can only be done on a PC and NOT a Mac.  Sucks, but its reality.  Click on the link below and make sure that the PC your doing this on has the BB desktop manager installed on it.  I went to my dads house and used his PC.  After the tech and I learned that the DM has to be installed before you start the fix we were able to resolve the problem and the DM on the mac recognizes the media card.  I'm also able to see the BB1 and BB2 icons on the desktop now so I can drag and drop if I want.  I hope this helps you all.  If you need additional help with this please ask.  I may not be the most tech savy person here but I may be able to help a little.  Here you go:
NOTE: MAKE SURE THAT THE DESKTOP MANAGER IS INSTALLED ON THE PC YOUR USING FIRST.  I ONLY INSTALLED THE ENGLISH VERSION WITHOUT MEDIA SYNCH (to reduce download size and time)  AND IT WORKED GREAT.
    http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/documentLink.do?externalID=KB19717
Follow the directions to the tee and it should work fine.
PS:  If you have problems with your blackberry and you cant find the fix here or on CB call your carrier tech support.  If they cant resolve they are pretty quick at getting RIM on the case and resolving without you getting charged for it.  Verizon was helpful at that and when I spoke with BB tech support they were extremely helpful.  I was very impressed.
I hope this helps all of you with this problem.  Good luck out there!!!!
