Won't recognize apple ID password

Apple TV won't recognize my Apple ID password and won't let me use home sharing. When I try to turn on home sharing, it asks for my password. The screensaver is working, but I can't use Airplay.

    Hello Nancy,
Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Wi-Fi on your iPhone.  I recommend the following article and specifically steps 4 and 6 for the situation you described.  Step 4 says to restart your phone, but if you click on the link in step 4, you will get the steps to reset your iPhone as well.

I would have to say the LCD display or possibly the inverter as the graphics adapter can properly output to an external monitor. This would be repaired under warranty.

  • Itunes won't recognize a valid password

Here's a weird one. (MacBook Pro 2.4G 10.6.2) Tried to buy something on the itunes store, and my password does not work. So, I recover the password. Still doesn't work. Then I reset the password... 3 times. None of those work either.
So, I go to my office computer (Mac Pro 8-core 10.6.2) and reset the password again. Works fine. I can access the itunes store or anything else on Apple's site. I take that same password into the other room, and using the MacBook Pro, the itunes store says "invalid user or password" and will not allow me on. Yet, I am still on that computer, using that same password, to log into the forums here... This computer will log into Apple but not into itunes.
itunes support says that since the password is stored on their site, it should work on either computer. It doesn't.
    Ideas??
    thanks
    Don

I am having a similar issue. I recently tried to sync my Ipod with iTunes and got a message saying 100 songs were not autorized and I need to authorize computer. Odd as I have been syncing these devices for years. I go to authorize, and iTunes won't recognize my password. I change password. Still no luck. then I go to STORE>>VIEW MY ACCOUNT, and using the same user ID and password I can access all my info. But when I try STORE>>AUTHORIZE COMPUTER, I get the failed message again. How is that possible? So, now I have music I can't play on my iPod for absolutely no reason.

  • Itunes won't recognize apple id

I can sign in to the Apple website and this forum, but iTunes won't recognize my apple ID. Any suggestions?

After I logged into this forum, the store recognized my ID. Not sure what happened. I had been able to log into all of these places before without access to iTunes... Oh, well... Seems all is working for now... I am brand new to this, so I will likely be back. THanks!

  • New Mini won't recognize Apple USB modem

I hate being thick but I can't figure out why my new mini won't recognize the Apple USB modem I just purchased. The network preferences see the built-in Airport card, Bluetooth, Ethernet and Firewire, but I cannot get it to recognize any kind of modem (internal or external).
I figured it might be an uninstalled component (this is the Mini with built-in Airport) and looked through the OS X installation discs, but no. I can't find any drivers on the Apple site for the modem... has anyone had any success with this?
    Many thanks in advance,
    m.
    Mini / 1.42Ghz/airport   Mac OS X (10.4.2)

Doh! Upgrading the system to 10.4.4 did the trick. I guess the right drivers for the USB modem weren't in the earlier version to be recognized.

  • ICloud won't recognize my new password on MacBook Air

I recently changed my Apple ID password. My iPad and iPhone have accepted my new password, but I cannot enter new password into iCloud in system preferences on my MacBook Air. What am I doing wrong?

Is it possible that it could not change your password in iCloud because you were not logged into iCloud at the time when you changed your Apple ID password ?
If so did you try using your old password to access the iCloud and then sync everything up and then log off and back on to iCloud and see if it recognizes your new password ?

  • BB won't recognize new gmail password

I changed my gmail password online from my PC, now my BB won't let me sign into my email. I sign in from a Web-based connection but the whole point of this BB device is to get emails directly to it. Help! (and fast!)
BTW, Blackberry customer service is totally inaccessible especially compared to APPLE'S. I have almost instantaneous access to an actual human support person with Apple. So, hmmm, if I can't solve this, time to move to an iPhone??!! One can't help but wonder, much as one may be addicted to the keypad....
    Cheers.

    Thank you Guru 1.
Fido did advise me to contact BB and that's why I am on this site. Is there a secret/confidential phone number they could have given me instead? If so, why is it so hard for BB customers to access unless their wireless provder gatekeeps it for them?
I will try the procedures you have suggested tomorrow when I am less tired and let you know if they work.
Please bump this message on to higher management:
I would have appreciated an easily accessible BB phone number to call to make a phone appointment. This emailing back and forth with the obvious answer being offered first (everybody knows it is BB policy to offer the moron-solutions like: "try taking the battery out of your device and putting it back in again" first) is a total waste of time. I would like someone to walk me through the steps I need to take on my BB device the way Apple staff have walked me through a similar challenge on one of their devices. Moreover, Apple has also never chastised me for being too busy with other things to deal with my issues with their device as quickly as would be ideal, and Apple staff are trained to go out of their way to be nice to frazzled tech customers.
BB needs to know that a big appeal of Apple is its easily accessible human customer assistance. Canadian companies are lovely, but it is always a bitter pill when American customer service is better.
    Cheers,
    B

  • My Mac won't recognize my iCloud password. iOS and webapp does.

    Hello,
I recently changed my iCloud password, after updateing to Mountain Lion (10.8.2). I wanted to access the "Back to my Mac" feature and I was asked my password. I set up a new one on the web as I had troubles remebering it (or maybe it's the same problem I'm having now...).
Ever since, I couldn't set up my new password on iCloud on my Mac. It works fine on iPhone, iPad (latest iOS 5) and on the webapp but it's impossible to log in on my Mac.
It either says that the password is not valid or I just have the spinning wheel for hours.
Anyone has an idea why and how to make it work again?
PS: I'm using different accounts for iCloud and iTunes.

    My sympathies, Loriskumo.
I was finally able to connect from the System Preferences / iCloud panel. The trick was to paste most of my password, then type the remaining characters; then the Submit button was activated. Apparently, the iCloud panel doesn't want the password to be 100% pasted—as long as you type at least one of the characters yourself, you are permitted to submit the login and password combination, and be connected.
After all that, I discovered the iCloud System panel contains nothing about setting security questions! Instead, one must connect to the My Apple ID website, where the password is even stricter—you cannot paste into the password field, but 1Password was able to enter my password into the field. Loriskumo, you might have to manually create an entry in 1Password itself which you can then use on the web page, if you need to get into your security settings, etc.
    Hope this helps someone!

  • Mail won't recognize my correct password.

I have two mail accounts with the same service (pacbell.net) but for some reason mail on my MacPro OS X 10.8 has suddenly stopped recognizing the password to one of the accounts. The password is correct and I have deleted and reinstalled the account several times with he same results. I keep getting the error "mail can't connect to account  [email protected]" Any ideas?

  • IChat won't recognize AIM account password

Hi, I tried to use iChat for the first time today by establishing an AIM.com account.
iChat has the right account name for me, but every single time I try to log in, it tells me that the password or id is incorrect. I can log into AIM.com just fine. I checked the iChat preferences and put in all the right information and it is still refusing to log me in, saying it is incorrect.
How should I proceed? I have an important video conference to do with iChat this week, very concerned. Thank you.

    Hi,
    Welcome to the    Discussions
Can I ask if you registered a straight forward name as in ralphjohns or used and existing email address ?
If you used an email address does it have any unusual characters ?
For a long time the AIM servers have had links to various ISPs and Apple to allow those Email addresses to be valid AIM names (so [email protected] would work). However these try to confirm the password you have registered with those sources and certainly Apple Passwords can be longer than 16 characters which are then not allowed on the AIM Servers.
Registering a email address on the AIM registration page means you can set a password there and it should tell you if it were too long.
There is also the issue of special characters.
I have not tired to register an email ID but I do know that the regular method forbids certain characters.
I can foresee that AIM may check the email ID is valid but not check any character issues.
AS a test delete com.apple.ichat.AIM.plist and restart iChat.
This file in found in Hard drive/Users/(your account name)/Library/Preferences
This will force iChat to re-establish the Connection for login.
If that does not work go to the iChat Menu > Preferences > Accounts section and the Server settings tab and change the port to 443
(SSL must be On for Snow Leopard and then press Enter to "Set" the change)
Also try it with SSL Off as the AIM SSL server falls over more often than the regular server.
It is late where I am and I may not reply again until my tomorrow.

  • Ichat won't recognize aol login password

I'm trying to use iChat for the first time. I went online, created an aol account and password. When I lauch iChat it promps me to log into AOL instant messenger. When I enter my login ID and password I get an error that my login ID or password is incorrect. But I can go to the aol website and log in fine. how can I get into iChat and start using it?

    HI,
Creating an AOL account can mean you ID looks like and email.
However the AIM messaging service tends to use only the username part.
IF you register via the AIM registration page it allows you to Activate email separately.
My AIM name comes from Registering a long time ago with Netscape ( A Browser that included AIM messaging)
It gave me an Email at my [email protected] where as my AIM login is just the username
If you registered via AOL itself the email tends to end @AOL.com but you should still try it as a plain username.

  • Nano won't recognize Apple LossLess files

So some of my music is in the Apple Lossless format and everytime I try to put those particular songs on my iPod, I get a message saying: "some of the songs from iTunes such as the file "insert name" were not copied to the iPod "insert name" because they cannot be played on this iPod". Now last time I checked Apple Lossless formats where supported by iPods, so I went and downloaded the newest iPod updater only to find that I was already up to date on my software. I would convert the songs to another format, but for some reason these few songs when converted to AAC become 2x as long and play at half speed, so I really just want to be able to put Apple LossLess files on my nano. Any one know why I can't play them on my iPod, or how to make it play them? Thanks.

Is the podcast playlist configured to sync to your iPod from under your iPod's Podcast configuration tab?  To access this tab, plug your iPod in and when it appears in iTunes, click on its name from under the Devices section in the left hand pane.  This will bring you to the Summary tab.
Locate the podcast tab and click on it.  Here you can configure your iPod to sync podcast playlists.
