Won't remember my login info???

9.01 won't remember my login info... at least not the password.
Any tip ?
And is there some way to tell iTunes I am 64 years old and am permitted to hear harsh language without checking a box every time I download an app that has access to the Internet? I am the only user of this mac and I login with a password... how stupid is this... if I were 13 years old, I would just check "yes" I am 18, show me the ****!!!

There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page to log you in automatically. 
The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server. 
If that "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you anymore and you need to sign in once again.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted. 
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

Safari not 'remembering' webpages login/passwords

I am running Safari 4.0.4. On certain websites(Facebook & My Space among some) it will not remember the login info or show a box to remember it.
How do I get that to happen ?

I'm having the same or similar problem.
I have no idea what's causing it. It seems to have started after backing up my computer, for the first time, on a new external HD using the HD's included auto-back-up software (a 1tb My Book with "SmartWare" software, from Western Digital). There were other bugs which cropped up at the same time. SmartWare kept thinking it was being run for the first time, and Google Notifier kept forgetting my login information.
The problem with Google Notifier seems to have fixed itself, and I uninstalled SmartWare. The only problem left is with Safari.

My thunderbird e-mail acct was deleted in a recovery! can i get my info back? address book, calender etc? lost login info! sorry

i did a full recovery on my computer back to factory settings and lost my thunderbird along with all the addresses calenders etc. Can i download the program again and try and remember my login info and will all my info still be there? thanks

Your profile(s) should still be at %appdata%\Roaming\Thunderbird\profiles
the first one is a map named something.default
If it was overwritten at restore then its most likely gone. Otherwise if you install Tbird it should find all data there. (just in case, make a backup)

App to remember wireless logins, or keep them alive?

Given the number of wireless access points that are set up with an authentication screen, either as amenities (my grocery store makes me accept their TOS for free wireless) or security (my university uses a Bluesocket gateway) and the fact that my phone grabs those "known" networks automagically, is there a keychain app that will remember the login info for me or, at least, something I can install that will keep a data connection alive to those networks so that I don;pt have to authenticate every single time I wake up the phone?
I know it's possible to put a MAC filter into many of these devices to bypass the registration screen, but that's not really feasible everywhere from the position of an end-user...

Dreamweaver "forgets" login info?

I am having this problem, which only started occurring after I installed the 11.0.3 update http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/ where Dreamweaver is not retaining the login and password info for my sites. I even unclick the "save" checkbox and re-click it after logging in. Then it works for a while. Then when I try to connect to the site with the Files palette. Not sure what is going on. If anyone has solutions I would appreciate it.
Also, I noticed that Dreamweaver does not indicate the version update in the "About Dreamweaver" dialog, to 11.0.3, but retains 11.0

I'm having this problem too. It started when DW suddenly wiped out ALL My site definitions. And I had to import them from a backup. Now it is not remembering my login info, but it only seems to be happening on some sites.
I'm on a Mac with Snow Leopard with what I think is the latest build for CS5

My "website login info remember function" won't recognize/save new password changes to Yahoo mail

I've just changed my password into my Yahoo email account - however the Foxfire website login data remember function box doesn't appear asking if I want to save my new login information.
I've checked my Tools/Options/Security info and all is as should be... And my Tools/Options/Privacy/Remember History box is checked too...
In fact the "remember password data" box just popped up when I registered with this site and added my new login info to my list of saved login ID's and passwords...
Seems to be the "login data remember function" isn't recognizing my Yahoo mail login password change as new info that needs to be re-saved...

hello bthrower, websites can specify if browsers should be able to save username/passwords (through the autocomplete="off" attribute in the login form in the html source code) - this is often the case when a higher level of security is presumably required by those sites.

Safari Won't Remember Login + Passwords

Safari just won't remember login names and passwords for sites! Even though I fill in the info and check the box that asks to remember, it does not.
BTW, it works fine on my main user setup, but not on a secondary user.
I have deleted the Safari .plist preference files, the keychain access .plist files and deleted files within the Keychain Access application and restarted the machine. Problem still exists.
Can anyone help?

Before I delete any of the suggested files, will I have to re-enter my log in names and passwords?
Usually when Safari has a memory lapse, it doesn't recall both log in name and password. When I attempted to log in to this forum today, Safari remembered my log in name, but not my password. Is there an option for Safari or keychain to remember only log in names, but not passwords?
Safari will usually prompt me to add log in name and password the first time I create it for a new site, but not always. It didn't do this when I re-entered it today, but after I logged out, it allowed me to log back in without requesting log in or password.

Why won't FireFox save my login info anymore?

All of my saved login info no longer works and I can't get it to work. I've checked "remember passwords for sites" but still nothing. Any suggestions?

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.

Dreamweaver CS5 Mac not remembering login info

Hi folks,
About a month ago I had DW lose all my site definitions for no apparent reason. ALL of them. Fortunately I had a backup copy on my laptop and I exported all my site defs and then re imported them into my desktop app. Since that time DW will not remember any usernames or passwords for any of my sites after a restart. This is getting REALLY annoying, and I see NO way of fixing it. The site definitions are all there, but just the login info is missing.
Any help GREATLY appreciated. I don't even know where to begin to try to fix this problem.

I had already tried keychain repair. It reported no problems and repair fixed none.
The only thing that looks a little odd in the keychain is some private Adobe Encrypted data that looks something like this:

Seems like there is some confusion since CS5 allows one login info for both remote and testing, but don't think that is the problem.

The nook books appear on my bookshelf from the library, but when I try to download to my android, it won't allow it as it is set up as a different account. i hit the save password mozilla function for my gmail login page by accident. when i go under preferences, i cannot add an exception for gmail. now my login info and password are permanently displayed and i cannot undo it. the closest thing is to uncheck 'remember passwords for this site' but i do not want that because there are a lot of other sites that i want that function. when i hit 'exceptions' it has 'accounts.google.com' listed but it seems to not work for gmail and i cannot manually add an exception.

Podcasts app won't remember played episodes and automatically deletes played episodes.

I'm using an iPhone 4, iOS 6. I run a Mac and have set podcasts to keep 1 most recent episode. It simply will not honor this setting. Tried deleting/reloading Podcasts app won't remember played episodes. It will randomly decide all xx previous episodes are new and unplayed. Even after marking all as played it will show it as such and then an hour later revert. This is not shown on my home computer or on an ipad or what not just FYI. It automatically deletes played episodes. I'd like to keep the most recent episode of all the podcasts I subscribe to and only delete once the new one is downloaded. In case I want to refer back. It regularly deletes them, requiring me to redownload the episode and annihilating my data cap. It just won't actually sync or work correctly at all.
Any advice or help is very much appreciated. I hate to vent; it is just exasperating.
PS: I understand many people like third party providers and you'd think I'd have done that given how much I listen to podcasts but this ought to work and work like Amazon's whispersync. Whoever is in charge of this is a bozo that's blowing it and I hope they are aware of it.

I am also having problems with 100s of played podcasts being listed. Like others, if I delete a podcast, it reappears as unplayed the next time I open podcast app in a WiFi zone. In the meantime, the app stops working while it tries to handle all the new info. Finally for some podcasts, it plays and old episode when I select the most recent. I keep selecting "Mark all as played" only to see 100s show up a few hours later. I would prefer played episodes not to be listed in menu at all!
I listen to podcasts on the subway without any ability to stream and prefer to access only from my phone and not have to fuss with computer.
I have read that if you delete the app to go back to using Music app, you can no longer download new podcasts but must do in iTunes. Is there any fix or workaround?
