Won't remember network

Okay heres the deal Im in college and decided to change my password over spring break. The first time I must have typed a wrong letter or number and loked myself out. So I just made a new keychain. Over spring break I of course had to re-enter all my logins for email and all those accounts. So far everything was working great until today. I new that I would have to redue the wireless network when I got to school and figured there would be no problem but now every time my mac book is logged out or allowed to sleep it wont remember the network. I prompts me with Apple 80211 Agent wants to make changes. Type your password. I do and everything works great until loggout or sleep. What am I missing? The network is showing under remember my networks, but it still wants me to enter the password. This is very fusturating and any help would be great.

I'm having airport network issues as well Jason. Started 3 days ago after an update. My wireless connection just disconnects out of the blue then my computer freezes up. It will not let me shutdown by pressing the on/off button TOTAL FREEZE...I have to disconnect the power cord. The internet will connect when I restart but shortly after that..airport turns "off" and it will not let me hit airport "on" button. I also deleted all connections in my chain...did not help. I see a pile of people on here having the same issues! Grrrrrrrr I haven't seen a solution that has worked for me yet. I even did a disk Utility verify and repair and problem returned. Good luck

Macbook Air (Lion) won't connect to Airport Express (and won't remember network)

My new Macbook Air 13, with Lion, will not connect to my Airport Express. It throws the following error: "A connection timeout occured"
This Airport Express is setup as a bridge. So it extends my wireless router.
The new Macbook air sees this setup as 2 seperate WIFI networks. It will connect to one (the router), but will not connect to the other one (the airport). It will then not remember the router, so each time it restarts or wakes from sleep, I have to manually reconnect to the correct one.
For reference. I have 4 other wifi devices in this household. A win 7 laptop, an IPad 2, an iphone, and a Macbook pro with Leopard. All 4 of them are working as intended. They see one wifi network, connect to it (and move between the two points as necessary), and they remember their connections.
Any thoughts or advice?

Glad it's not just me. I have D-Link and TP-Link routers set up in the same or a similar way. My iPads, iPods and Windows laptops all show a single SSID and switch between them happily. My new 13" Air was showing two networks (2 SSIDs) and wireless was patchy at best. I changed one router to be N only and that improved things somewhat, but still loosing the network. In order to see which router was being used I altered the SSID of one. The "N-only" router is giving the best coverage with a strong signal - but then it just drops out and the wireless icon shows "Searching". Turning wifi off then back on fixes the connection.
When it comes to internet browsing my iPad 2 is significantly faster than the Air.
I'm also having trouble keeping or attaining connections to my Windows shares, drop-out, even when I still have internet connectivity.

Airport Connection won't remember network

How can I get Snow Leopard to remember my airport extreme network. I have the box checked to remember the network as I sign on but it will not remember. The next time I open my MacBook Pro and wake it from sleep I have to sign on to the network all over again. There are two other networks that it remembers very well. Any ideas?

Be sure that Airport is at the top of the list in System Preferences > Network. And, be sure that your preferred network is at the top of the list in System Preferences > Network > Advanced.

IMac running lion 10.7.3 won't remember network/

When it wakes up it tries to connect and fails, but as soon as I choose my home network from the list it connects immediately. I have checked the box remember this network . I have tried all the tricks found on the internet and still have to copnnect manually.

iMac EFI-Firmware-Update 1.8
Before i Updated it, i never have Problems.
Since that Update, i Start my iMac out of the Sleep Mode, he try`s to Connect to a Wireless Network, and doesn`t Connect immediately.
He Connects recently i click Manual on my Home-Network in the WI-FI List.
Is it Possible to downgrade the EFI-Firmware?

Help PC won't remember key after reboot

I had to reinstall my wrt54g2 wireless router because it was unpluged for 2 months. When I select the wireless network I want and enter the key it will not let me add it to favorites so when I reboot I have to enter the key again. I have pressed the little red reset and uninstalled and reinstalled the easylink advisor but still won't remember the key.

Whats the Wireless Settings you have setup on your Router (SSID, Channel, Security Mode)? Whats the OS installed on your PC? Are you able to get connected to your wireless network ?

Won't remember my auto log in password for SKY...have to manually insert password every time. all other sites are OK..

whenever I use SKY for my email [ many time a day] - ([email protected]) Firefox won't remember my password (it's in settings - show passwords - so I know its there..) So every time I have to enter it manually - it's becoming a bit of a pain....
All other sites I access using passwords (YouTube / eBay ect) ALL auito log in properly - I've tried deleting from the saved password list and adding again but it still won't auto log in..what's up...???

Syndrome:
The wireless network name appeared on the System Preference>Network>Airport>Advanced>Preferred Networks List, but every time when start computer or wake up, a popup window said "None preferred network is available" and ask me to select a new net work, if I select the same network, the password is there. The system keychain can remember the password but System preference cannot remember the Preferred/Joined wireless network.
Reason:
Fix to this problem that strangely centred on the specific location of the “System Preferences.app”, if other than the standard location of the root of the “Applications” folder.
If you have moved the System Preferences application (not alias, actual app) to any other location for any reason, your newly joined preferred network will NOT be properly remembered and will NEVER be properly rejoined.
Solution:
1) Move “System Preferences.app” back to “Applications\”.
2) Delete all instances of “Preferred Networks” in “Network Preferences”.
3) Delete all “Airport network password” instances in “Keychain Access”.
4) Restart your Mac.
5) Add/Join applicable preferred network using the Airport pulldown menu or in Network Preferences (as if for the first time). Use “Advanced” in “Network Preferences” to confirm the existence of your preferred network and the correct settings. Use “Keychain Access” to confirm the existence of the applicable “Airport network password” instance and the correct settings.
6) Restart your Mac. The OS should now find your preferred network and join it on its own. Good Luck!
NOTE: Simply moving back System Preferences will NOT suffice. Deleting and re-adding/joining the preferred network is a must after the app has been moved.

And is there some way to tell iTunes I am 64 years old and am permitted to hear harsh language without checking a box every time I download an app that has access to the Internet? I am the only user of this mac and I login with a password... how stupid is this... if I were 13 years old, I would just check "yes" I am 18, show me the ****!!!

There is a difference between remembering the name and password in the Password Manager and a "remember me" check box on a web page to log you in automatically. 
The latter usually involves the creation of a special "remember me" cookie that is stored on your computer and that is send to the server. 
If that "remember me" cookie is removed or gets corrupted or is not send to the server then the server won't remember you anymore and you need to sign in once again.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing the cookies doesn't help then it is possible that the file cookies.sqlite that stores the cookies is corrupted. 
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookie files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox Profile Folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

My ipod touch 4th gen won't remember passwords

my ipod touch used to remember passwords, then I had to change some that expired, so I told it to 'forget' passwords, now it won't remember the new ones!
how can I fix that?

well, that didn't fix it.
it is more frustrating because the right side letters don't type o portrait orietation, and the school logon screen doesn't go to landscape when I turn it, so I have put my passwords and school id in the notepad so I can copy and paste everyday I am at school

I recently downloaded IOS 6 for IPhone 4 and now it won't remember names and passwords for websites I frequently visit. It used to remember prior to the download. Any suggestions?

You could unplug your router than plug it back in. You could turn the iPhone completely off and then back on.

G5 iMac OS 10.4.8 won't remember passwords

My computer won't remember passwords, even though I click the appropriate box. Microsoft Entourage is the program where ethis is most inconvenient. Anyone have any suggestions?

Do you mean names and passwords in the Password Manager or do you mean that you are no longer logged on to (remembered by) websites after closing and restarting Firefox?
If the latter happens then you have a problem with cookies that are not kept or the file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Websites remembering you and automatically log you in is stored in a cookie that you must allow: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Exceptions"
Make sure that you do not use [[Clear Recent History]] to clear the 'Cookies' and the 'Site Preferences'.
Make sure that you not run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode.
In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working.
You are in Private Browsing mode if you see "Tools > Stop Private Browsing".

10.5.6 won't remember display resolution...

My first mac.
I will set my screen resolution to 800x500 but when I shutdown and restart it gets set to 800x600.

I called apple support to ask why my macbook won't remember certain display resolutions after rebooting. A tech advised modifying my "com.apple.Boot.plist" file with the following but it didn't work:

i have two Windows 7 machines and Server2008 machines will not remember network discovery preferences,
i am running software on the windows server machine that collects data and serves information to two windows 7 machines, and network discovery is required for this purpose
these machines are configured in a local stand alone network configured as a workgroup the only other items on network are none PC based equipment that the server happily communicates with and reads data from
once the network discovery is set for the network the system runs as expected but on every start-up (or wake up) the network discovery is lost and need to be re allowed. this is the case in both windows server 20008 r2 and windows 7
how do i make these preferences permanent. so that it will restart and re establish communication its self without intervention
am i missing a setting or if not is there a way i can script the the selection of preference on each start(/wake)up.
the final user need to be able to turn system on/restart and use it with out having to have any IT/networking knowledge to get system running.

You can use group policy to enable network discovery so that it is always configured
1. In the Group Policy editor on a Win7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 computer, open the GPO that you want
to use in the Group Policy Editor.
2. Expand "Computer Configuration", "Windows Settings", "Security Settings", "Windows Firewall with Advanced
Security", and then "Windows Firewall with Advanced Security - {policy you have open}".
3 Right-click "Inbound Rules", and then click "New Rule".
4 In the Rule Wizard, on the Rule Type page, select"Predefined", and then select Network Discovery from
the list. Click Next.
5 On the Predefined Rules page, ensure that the check box is on each rule that is part of the Network
Discovery group, and then click Next.
6 On the Action page, select "Allow the Connection", and then click Finish.

Everytime I go to get into Firefox the Windows Live Sign in comes up.This has been happening since I installed Windows 7 and it won't remember sign in details.How can I get rid of Windows Live sign in??

Yes good point. It's Fireworks CS6 v 12.0.0.274 on Mac OSX v10.9.5.
I didn't have this issue with CS5.5 on 10.9.5, only started with CS6.
Anyway, you're probably right re living with it.
Maybe someone has experienced the same issue and found the reason.
