Won't send mms since 5.0 update

My iphone 4 won't send mms since I updated it to the 5.0

Found the solution to my problem in another thread...
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=11633377#11633377
Essentially, I tracked down my CosmoPod installation and moved it to the desktop. My CosmoPod was in HD>Library>Input Managers, though others have found it in a folder called SIMBL in Application Support.

    Hey beastlyhippo,
Thanks for the question. Based on what you stated, it seems like you are having trouble with MMS messages. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages
If you can't send and receive MMS
You will need these to send and receive MMS:
    An iPhone 3G or later
    iOS 3.1 or later
A cellular data connection (MMS isn't available if you're using only Wi-Fi)
A domestic MMS plan from your cellular provider. You might need an international messaging plan to send MMS to an international contact (Contact your carrier for more information.)
A roaming MMS when using a cellular provider's network that is different from your billing cellular provider's network (Learn more about roaming and contact your carrier for more information.)
To resolve issues with sending and receiving MMS, follow these steps
Go to Settings and turn airplane mode off.
Go to Settings > Messages and turn MMS Messaging on.
Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Cellular Data on.
Go to Settings > Cellular and turn Data Roaming on if you're roaming on a cellular provider network that is different from your billing provider's network.
Make sure that you have a cellular data connection in the status bar of your iPhone.
Go to Settings and turn Wi-Fi off. Open Safari and navigate to www.apple.com to verify that you have a data connection. Turn Wi-Fi back on to continue using Wi-Fi for other features. If your cellular data connection isn't available, follow these steps.
Make sure that you can send and receive SMS. If you can't send and receive SMS, see the "Issues with sending and receiving SMS" section, above. MMS might not be available while you're on a call. Only 3G and faster GSM networks support simultaneous data and voice calls. Learn more about which network your phone supports.
    Restart your iPhone.
Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings on your iPhone.
Remove your SIM card and insert it again.
If you still can't send or receive MMS, follow these steps
Make sure that the contact trying to message you isn't blocked in Settings > Messages > Blocked.
Go to Settings > Messages and turn on group messaging if you're sending a group message.
Make sure that you're using the area code with the contact's phone number. When you send messages internationally, you also need the contact's international code.
If you're using a "Pay as you go" MMS plan, make sure it has enough available balance. If you're unsure of your MMS plan or available balance, contact your carrier.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, back up or forward important messages and delete your current messaging threads with the contact. Create a new message to the contact and try again.
If the issue occurs with a specific contact or contacts, delete and recreate the contact from the Contacts app. Send a new message to the new contact.
Back up and restore your iPhone as new.
If your carrier has recently ported your phone number, the porting process might not be complete. Contact your carrier to confirm that the porting process is complete.
Contact your carrier to verify that you're provisioned to send SMS and are in an area with cellular coverage.
Contact your carrier to verify that there aren't blocks or filters on your wireless account preventing you from sending SMS.
Your carrier might require modified APN settings to use MMS.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Cheers,
    Mario

  • Revolution Won't Send MMS

My Revolution won't send MMS! I would like to fix this problem, but am unsure how. Please help.

    Hello ediepenh,
Sending pictures is fun, creates memories, and is a big part of using our phones. If this did not work for me when using my phone, I would be upset and would want it corrected as soon as possible.
Thanks very much, Ann154, for your suggestion. Ediepenh, have you been able to send a picture since posting? Are you able to receive messages? To test your incoming and outgoing capabilities for picture messaging, please send a picture to your own mobile phone. If you receive the picture, you are able to both send and receive pictures.
If you are still having issues with this, please let me know by sending me a DM with your name, mobile number, and a contact nubmer to reach you. I will be happy to assist you further and provide you with a resolution.
    Thanks!

  • 8100 won't send mms

My 8100 won't send mms but can receive them, I'm on T-Mobile and I talked with customer service for over an hour they said they changed the mms settings or something but never sent it to my hand held. Does anyone know how to fix this?

    1. Do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan on your account with Tmo?
    2. Do this:
    1. Options > Advanced > Host Routing Table > Menu > Register.
    2. Resend your service books from your carrier BIS site.
    From your handheld device: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB15402
    From your desktop PC: http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
    3. With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot

  • Cant receive/send MMS since IOS5 update.HELP :(

Just recently updated my Iphone 4 to IOS 5.  But now I can receive or send mms to non-Iphone mobiles.  Have resetted Iphone, turned Off, pressed Home&Power button together.  NOTHING!  My iphone is not Jailbroken, just want to send and receive mms messages.
Was able to send before the update.  Am not happy
Im with Optus Prepaid if that matters.
    Frustrated
    J
    Brisbane QLD Australia
Also tried the sending MMS with no WiFi and on 3G....nope. ddnt work.  MMS Tab is on in Settings too....So can you help?

    Hi J,
Just had the same problem myself.
Ended up giving in and called OPTUS.
I had to go to settings, general, down to reset, reset network settings, enter code.
Then go back to settings, carrier, turn automatic off, it will search for other carriers, (may take a while), then select a different carrier than yours, let it put a tick next to that carrier, then select your original carrier (may take awhile again), then when tick next to your carrier, turn automatic back on.
Test and see if you can send yourself an MMS. (always takes a while to go thorugh).
If that works, pick a friend and try to send MMS to them.
It appears to be a resetting requirement since the upgrade. Hope its not necessary every upgrade.
I am a happy girl, now it works.
Let me know if it works for you...Fingers crossed.

  • Updated to 3.0, Won't send MMS messages?

I recently updated my iPhone to the 3.0 software and under my ROGERS iPhone value pack it tells me i get unlimited MMS messages but right now I am unable to send MMS messages. My phone tells me that it has sent them but 3 of my friends who all have iPhones with the 3.0 software are not recieving them, and they are getting error messages when they try to send them.
    Help please?

You have to specify an mms apn under 'Cellular Data Network' in Settings, General, Network - you might also have to specify the mms proxy and mmsc, which you'll have to contact your provider to get. Alternately I believe it's possible to find the information for MMS setup with Rogers on the internet, just google it(tm).
I should mention though that I believe I've found a bug (detailed in another of my posts, see http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2047179) which renders internet tethering unavailable if mms apn isn't the same as cellular data apn.

  • Won't send MMS before and after doing froyo 2.2 update

Soooo, last night my phone decided to stop sending MMS messages. I could recieve just fine, but not send. Just got the standard "failed" message. I did notice that this mainly happened when I went out of 3G service, but still had full bars...the 1x box was replacing the 3G box.
I've never had any issues even in the middle of no where Wisconsin until yesterday. I live in a larger city, so reception is not a problem..I have 3-4 bars at any given time. So I decided to try a software update (froyo 2.2) which now I am totally regretting. I've also done *228 and a soft reset (taking battery out for 10 seconds). Trying to avoid factory reset. Phone is still not wanting to send MMS messages.
    Thoughts, advice, etc?

    AEisele wrote:
I cannot send videos, pictures go through fine but videos are pending for at least an hour before any go through, and others never send at all. I tried everything: factory reset, *228, soft reset, and checked for updates. Nothing worked so I called VZW and got a replacement phone, only it does the same thing. It's driving me crazy and I don't know what else to do. Help!
Hi AEisele! Sure am sorry about your messaging issue. I've got a few ideas why this is happening, though. Can you send me a personal message with your name, a callback number (not the number of the phone we need to work with if you can help it) and a good time for us to speak? Thanks!

  • Won't send MMS msg

I tried sending to a few buds and then tried sending individual, but the mms won't send. I'm sending a pic with text underneath. Anyone else having this problem? The same thing happened last week.

I also cannot send mms pics taken with my phone camera. iphone 4 with 32g mem. updated to v4 software. It has sent mms pics in the past when I was in a 3g service area. It will not send in a non 3g wireless area. I have cycled the power on and off. I'm assuming it will only work in a 3g service area?

  • HT4528 Can't Send Email Since Last Few Updates

My mother and I both have iPhones - she has a 4 and I have a 5.  Since the last update on the software, we cannot send Email.  We can receive them but cannot send them.  Our mail settings are correct - this is not a problem with our Email providers.  I use Time Warner and she uses GVTC.  I have verified these settings are correct.  I see that many people have posted this same issue and can't get it resolved because Apple says it is the Email provider and the Email provider says it is Apple.  I know for a fact that it is not my Email provider.
I believe that a bug has been introduced to our phones with the one of the more recent updates that is affecting us to be able to send Email.  I was able to turn off my Mom's Wifi at her house and get her Email to send out but only if her Wifi is off and that trick doesn't work on my phone.  We shouldn't have to use tricks to get it to work though.  Dear Apple - as much as I love my phone - this will force me to switch to a competitor if it doesn't get fixed.  PLEASE fix this bug.  Please do not tell me it is my Email provider as I use these same settings on my Windows tablet with no issues.  Too many people are having this issue for it not to be a problem with the Apple software.

This was the ticket to rid phone of this daunting message/alert “Cannot Send Mail, the connection to the outgoing server "smtp.aol.com" failed.”  After spending way to many hours reading through dozens of forums, trying suggestions, I found a fix. I was attempting to set up a fully functioning aol email on a new 5C.  It seems (a lot, if not all) email servers, browsers, engines (not sure of correct terminology) have issues with this.  Luckily I came upon this solution after trying check your smtp's, delete email account and reload, turn on that deal and switch that one off, restart phone.  I was so hopeful with everyone of these only to become more enraged when it didn't work.
    THE FIX
access your email provider through safari, etc on phone
log in and send email to someone
a security diagram/code appeared, upon entering, got a happy lil message from           aol saying email was operational, something along those lines
went back to apple email icon, crossing fingers, sent a message and it worked!!!!!!!
Hope this works, let the world know if it does,
    If I can save one person the misery I went through, I’m all (: (: (: (:

  • IPhone 5 won't send MMS..

My iPhone 5 will not send MMS anymore. I can only send pictures to people who have iPhones. My data is on, I have my MMS option on, and the "send as an SMS" option is on as well. I've also restored and reset my setting. I'm also on AT&T.

not sure what carrier you are using but i use straighttalk and had same issue....here is how i resolved it
    1. delete any profiles you have saved settings>general>profile  delete if you see profile there if not go to step 2
    2. turn on wifi (my internet was also not working)
    3. open safari
    4. type iapnupdatetfdata.straighttalk.com
    5. download profile
    6. turn off wifi
    7. turn off phone
    8. turn on phone
my internet and pictures worked after this, any user, any carrier, no issues....hope this is helpful!

  • Can't Send MMS Since Updating to 4.2 (USA, ATT)

When I try to send an MMS with a picture that I took myself with my Iphone 4, the message would not go through. When I tried to send a picture that had been forwarded to me prior to upgrading, the message went through, but the recipient did not receive the picture.
I upgraded to 4.2 on the 24th and I know I was able to send picture, regardless of the type or how they were taken or sent to me, prior to that.
I know of one other person with an Iphone 4 that is close to where I live that has the same issue. They're in 3G coverage but I am in EDGE. Is anyone else having this same issue?

Just use the front camera. IOS 4.2.1 does not resize the pictures as it should do. But if you use the front camera everything works fine (it did for me).

  • IPhone won't send MMS

Hi(: I'm sorta new at this, but thought I'd take a shot. I recently bought an iPhone 4 off of eBay about 5m ago. Well it had been working fine, until now I tried I send a message to my boyfriend, who also has an iPhone with iMessage on, & it sent as a text message. So that part didnt to much bother me except I discovered it won't lemme send pictures through text( it says not delivered)
I've turned my phone off & back on
    I'm connected to the Internet
I've made sure mms, iMessage, & cellular data is on
i don't want to reboot it please help

I have the same issue.  And Lawrence, my account is provisioned correctly.  Everything looks correct on the carrier side.  This happened with iOS4 and still continues with the iOS5 upgrade.  I received no help in the apple store so I hope there is some help on these boards.  This is getting frustrating.  I've never had a phone do this.  I would like it to work so any info at this point would be great since I was sent packing from the store.  Not very helpful.

  • Can't send iMessages since OS X update

Sending and receiving iMessages from my Mac worked perfectly until I updated my system to version 10.8.2.  Since then, I cannot send iMessages from my Mac.  I don't think I'm receiving them either.  I can still send other types of IMs (gchat, etc) - only iMessage seems to not be working.  It doesn't even seem to be trying to send - I type my message and press enter and it appears in my chat window with the red exclamation point next to it instantly without even a "trying to send" gap.  How can I fix this?  Thanks!!

    Hi,
Eric's link takes you to the iPad Touch's Community but some of the info can be transferred to the Mac.
I take it that in Messages Menu > Preferences > Accounts the iMessages account is Enabled (box ticked) ?
I also would expect the Messages Menu > Accounts to show the Logged in Accounts ticked and that iMessages would be one of these ?
As a  First step I would Disable the Account (Untick in the Messages > Accounts or untick the "Enable this Account" box.
Adding a Public DNS server to your System Preferences > Network > Advanced button > DNS tab is a useful thing to do.
It may also pay to add it to your Modem or router (if it has extra spaces to add things to.)

  • Phone won't send pictures since Leopard upgrade

I have a Nokia 6682 smartphone. I use the bluetooth mainly to send pictures I take w/ the phone to my Macbook.
However, ever since I upgraded to Leopard, the phone won't successfully connect. I have tried re-configuring the device pairing among other random things. Still no luck.
Any suggestions? Anyone having a similar problem with a bluetooth device and Leopard?
