Won't send problem Report

I've been having a problem for about a month now when anything quits unexpectidly it builds the report for apple then when I click send to apple it says report not sent try again later. Any clues on how I might be able to fix this?

Hello Holly,
A common problem, & even if you could send it, Apple doesn't want it & will do nothing but trash the report.
I'd ignore the Send Report or disable the Reporter...

  • Firefox crashes upon open - won't send crash report; crash report info summarized below

I have one computer that crash every time I start Firefox. Ocassionally the firefox window will appear for less than a second and then the Crash Report Window shows up; most times it goes right to Crash Report Window. Then it is for some reason unable to send the crash repor; it keeps looping back to the crash report. I've checked my modem and router are operating correctly; I have another computer that's working fine. I've run scan for Trojans, viruses and still see the problem. Any help would be very much appreciated as I'm stuck at this point. For what it's worth, Internet Explorer has the same problem, crashing upon opening.

Hello. I have a similar problem to the question of Ryan Vaught, (Firefox crashes upon open - won't send crash report; crash report info summarized below [MY] Firefox version: prior one to 3.6.7 Operating System: Windows XP Provessional). Mine is a bit different tho. Firefox seems to be crashing and my internet crashes right with it. When it does this, it also takes out some Win32 system .exe files. I too have ran AVG (Full Coverage /Purchased one) and then updated to Viper (Sunbelt Software) and it comes up clean of any viruses, etc. Once it crashes and I close Firefox, the crash report request comes up. When I hit send, it says it cannot be sent with no additional information as to why. I just updated Firefox to 3.6.7 and sure hope this helps, but it almost always happens when I am playing games that use flash. I can send a screenshot if you need it and feel free to edit my question if need be. I've checked my Viper settings and can get to all the websites so far trying to rule it out. Deleted my internet set up and then added it back as a new connection (hope that made sense), so I don't know who to be asking this question of, but hoping you may know the answer why I can't send the crash report. Whew! Sorry for the lengthy question/issue. Your help is greatly appreciated!! Carolyn Burnam

  • Parallels xp unable to send problem report?

    Parallels desktop 7
I have old version of XP, parallels does not detect (virtual machine is  not available) when I locate, set up.exe is grey
I am unable to send problem report? please check network settings and try again, my network settings are working, I'm sendint this thread?? emails sending and recieving, any help would be really appreciated
    Tks
    Gary

You ain't gonna believe this but:
In 2006 I tried half heartedly to set up parallels and just took a look at a response I got, it suggested.
There's a bug in the Apple firmware in the Mac Pro that prevents the hardware virtualization support that's built into the processor from being used. Since you will be running a VM (Virtual Machine) to install your guest OS, hardware virtualization support will let your VM run directly on the processor hardware. Without Vt-X support, software emulation is required, which is many times slower.
Sometimes, putting your Mac to sleep and waking it up will allow getting around the Apple bug and allow Vt-X to work, speeding up your VM.
Well I just put mine to sleep and the bloody thing downloaded perfectly, go figure.
Shootist, you were perfectly correct, I was just frustrated and was trying anything.
Actually Tempelton, I put it here and parallels because I think it's a combo problem, but, thanks for your help anyway mate. Also, I do like a little Robert Johnson matter of fact the Blues Bros were real good at sweet home chicago too
    Thanks all

  • Can't send problem report

    Hi all.
Had my first kernal panic today. (I've had OSX 10.4 for a little over a month now and I am not impressed. Lots of little bugs...) I was loading a web page with Firefox 1.5 and got the 'you must restart' message. Thought it was a spoof from the website at first but I couldn't force-quit Firefox or do anything else so I had to go along with it.
Now I have a problem report window up, the info on the panic in there and my explanation all filled out but it won't let me send it. The "send to Apple" button is shaded. I am connected to the internet... I've put some sort of explanation in the requested box. I don't know what I am supposed to do beyond what I've done, so why can't I send it?
I'll close the window and perhaps try to send it via Console log...
OK. It is there as "exited process.crashlog" How do I send it?
    Thanks.
    John L

Well, one reason it won't send, I have just discovered, is that I was offline just now. Within a few seconds of going back online the button became available. (I had quit my Yahoo IM and the OS told me it had unexpectedly quit. I filled out the form and told Apple it had not unexpectedly quit, I had quit it. We, Apple and I, are working on some of the other problems I'm having and have some good avenues to persue by the way.)
This doesn't explain previous times when I was online but what of that. I think it would also rule out my using Firefox instead of Safari. (I've had some other crash reports that have been sent just fine and haven't used Safari on this machine.)
    Cheers,
    John L

  • Cannot Send "Problem Report"

Alright guys, I got a 24" iMac, Processor 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, Memory 2 GB 800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
My main problem is that whenever I restart my iMac, two problem reports emerge, neither of which can be sent to Apple due to an additional message which reads "Submission Failed: Your report could not be submitted. Please try again." Anyway, the report reads as follows:

Now, normally I probably wouldn't have such a problem with this, however, some times when I put my iMac to sleep, I get a grey screen with a folder containing a question mark and a "non" sign over it. I have no idea what this means but I usually cannot turn my iMac back on for a half hour before it works again. If anyone has any idea what the problem is, please help. And understand that I am obviously under-qualified to know what the issue could be.

Apple no longer accepts problem reports for 10.5.8 since it is now unsupported.
You may have a dysfunctional system or system component. Try reinstalling Leopard:
How to Perform an Archive and Install
An Archive and Install will NOT erase your hard drive, but you must have sufficient free space for a second OS X installation which could be from 3-9 GBs depending upon the version of OS X and selected installation options. The free space requirement is over and above normal free space requirements which should be at least 6-10 GBs. Read all the linked references carefully before proceeding.
    1. Be sure to use Disk Utility first to repair the disk before performing the Archive and Install.
Repairing the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Installer menu (Utilities menu for Tiger, Leopard or Snow Leopard.) After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer. Now restart normally.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
    2. Do not proceed with an Archive and Install if DU reports errors it cannot fix. In that case use Disk Warrior and/or TechTool Pro to repair the hard drive. If neither can repair the drive, then you will have to erase the drive and reinstall from scratch.
    3. Boot from your OS X Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When you reach the screen to select a destination drive click once on the destination drive then click on the Option button. Select the Archive and Install option. You have an option to preserve users and network preferences. Only select this option if you are sure you have no corrupted files in your user accounts. Otherwise leave this option unchecked. Click on the OK button and continue with the OS X Installation.
    4. Upon completion of the Archive and Install you will have a Previous System Folder in the root directory. You should retain the PSF until you are sure you do not need to manually transfer any items from the PSF to your newly installed system.
    5. After moving any items you want to keep from the PSF you should delete it. You can back it up if you prefer, but you must delete it from the hard drive.
    6. You can now download a Combo Updater directly from Apple's download site to update your new system to the desired version as well as install any security or other updates. You can also do this using Software Update.

  • MacPro keeps crashing... Unable to send Problem Reports to Apple.

In the ever-continuing saga of getting my MacPro to work under Leopard, this keeps happening..
Everytime I have to Force-Quit something and it generates a report I get this message.
Safari crashes, System Profiler crashes, almost every application seems to crash. This NEVER happened with Tiger.
Can anyone provide any insight as to why this is happening and why I get this message. Hardware checks out ok. I think somehow it may be USB related because sometimes when I unplug the hub after a "hang" it clears up.
The problem reports are unable to "gather system configuration information" and never get sent to Apple.
Please let me know any usb diagnostics I can run? Here's what's connected to the USB HUB....
    Brother MFC-7420
    Media Card Reader by Belkin
    Backups Battery
    Eyetv 250
    Canon i900d printer
    Zephir blaster (for eyetv)

If you're running Mac OS X 10.5.8 as your profile says, there will almost certainly never be any more software updates, and there's no point in submitting bug reports because the bugs will never be fixed.

  • Mail won't send; problem is not user-specific

My friend has a white MacBook and can't send mail. In System Prefs we created a new user, and then in that user's Mail we added the same account. Still couldn't send. The same Mail account settings work fine when added on my MacBook Pro and also on her PC.
She is able to receive mail, just not send it. She's convinced that her MacBook is a lemon.

Problem solved -- and I was wrong above when I said that only her machine was affected. Truly identical settings on different machines had identical results.
We were setting authentication to "Password", but her ISP requires NO password. This just threw me off, because I'd never seen an outgoing mail server choke on the presence of a password. Absence, yes, but not presence.
So, no, it was not the port settings, but thanks for the reply.

I spent a lot of time trying to find a solution before buying.  I did not try the launch terminal solution....
I will check back so I can find out what to do should this happen again.
More possible bad news.  If you had followed what fane_j had asked you to do you might have found out it wasn't microsoft's fault for your problem and wouldn't have had to spend $150.  Because while you may have an Office that works, fane_j was not suggesting a solution but probing for a trojan (google "flashback trojan") that has been crashing powerpc code which is what Office 2004 is.
So if you do have the trojan, while you can run a version of Office, the trojan may still be in your system since installing a version of Office isn't going to remove it.  So I'll make another request.  Launch Terminal (in your Utilities folder) and copy/paste the following line into the terminal window and hit return:
    defaults read ~/.MacOSX/environment
If you see anything other than a "does not exist" error message you almost certainly do have the trojan and post the results in this thread.
The choice is yours.  You can ignore this and take the risk.  Or do what has been requested.

  • Itunes wont open, encountered problem and send error report

Everytime i try to open windows, it says that itunes has encoutered a problem and needs to close. it has the send error report message too. please someone help

Meaghan, I already responded to your topic. Plus, it is simply not good to bury your post in other people's topics, and just for the future, if you have a problem without a good answer, don't post what has already been said in a thread. I know, the discussions take a little getting used to, but it is easy to get the hang of it after a couple of visits. You'll get it sooner or later. I know you will.

  • ITunes Won't Open; Get Option To Send Error Report

Whenever I try to open iTunes, I get the message, "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I have the option to either Debug (which does nothing), Send Error Report, or Don't Send. I have tried restarting my computer, redownloading iTunes, and uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes.
Backstory: I tried downloading the new iTunes version yesterday, and acidentaly clicked the power strip reset button with my toe right in the middle of download. iTunes disappeared from my computer after I booted it back up. So I downloaded it, and it worked yesterday. I turned on my computer again today, and I get this message.

Is it possible to download an older version of iTunes to see if that works? If so, where?

  • ITunes "Send Error Report" Message/Quicktime Problem

This is a problem that has only occured after I updated my iTunes to 7.0.2. Some songs in my library, and all of my videos that I have bought through the Music store cause the "Send Error Report" message to come up and iTunes closes down immediately.
I read another thread that a similar problem was occuring to a customer, and one of the admins requested him to un-install Quicktime and delete 2 files out of the registry. Then re-install quicktime through the "Repair" section of the iTunes installer. I followed these steps and the problem seemed to be fixed, but then they were "re-corrupted" I guess after I restarted my computer.
Do you have any idea what would be wrong? I know it is not spyware/viruses because I have several programs to check/delete them.
    Thanks for your help
    -jcavanagh.

    Bump for the 3rd time.
Quicktime will not even open, on a sidenote. It starts to load, then I hear some sort of beep..then it closes. I have tried re-installing multiple times and the problem continues.

    1) Please use the code tags when posting code or JNLP/HTML. It helps to retain indentation and avoids asterisks and plus sings being interpreted as formatting marks. To do that, select the code/JNLP etc. and click the CODE button seen on the Plain Text tab of the message posting form.
    2) That launch file is invalid. You might check it (and the project in general) using JaNeLA.
    3) The only place that SimpleSerial class could be, that the JRE would find, is in the root of aeon.jar. Is it actually there?

Firefox is crashing every time I have my MSN email account up. (Since I use it for business, that's many times per day.) It seems to coincide with hotmail's latest update where the email is checked and downloaded to the inbox automatically. Then when it asks me if I want to send the crash report to Firefox, I select yes and it tells me it had trouble sending the report. Is anyone else having this problem? Is there a setting I can change? I can't seem to keep my email account up for more than 10 minutes.

Move the Safari app from the Desktop to the Applications folder.
    Restart your Mac.
    That's why you see this:
When I try to do the updates my computer says it has ready it goes through like it is downloading them then at the end it says some of the files could not be saved to "/" files.
After your restart your Mac, click the Apple  menu (top left in your screen) then click:  Software Update ...
