Won't show when uploaded from CD

Someone please help me! I recently got a new Macbook (yay! I love it!) and i burned my pictures onto a disc from my PC and uploaded them onto my macbook fine, but when I want to view those pictures, it says it needs to find the file and it won't open. I'm really confused.
What do i do?!?!

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Does your iPhoto Advanced preference pane look like this. If the one checkbox is not checked then that's the problem you're getting that message. Does it look like this?
Do you Twango?
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Iphoto won't let me upload from iphone! "Unrecognisable"

    HI!
    Someone please help!
I was uploading my photos from my iphone and it wasn't working so I went into image capture. It worked fine and I copied and pasted them into iphoto...EXCEPT!!
It won't let me upload the last few months (approx 1,000 photos) of photos on my iphone.
Those last photos don't show up on image capture at all, like they don't exist, but they do. They are my most recent photos I've taken.
I can view these remaining ones on iphoto,(unlike image capture) but it won't let me upload them either. Says "Unrecognisable format" or something
    Please help ~

    10.05 GB available
Then you have the absolute bare minimum you need, and in reality, when taking temporary files into account, very likely much less than that.
OS X needs about 10 gigs of hard drive space for normal OS operations - things like virtual memory, temporary files and so on.
Without this space your Mac will slow down as the OS hunts for space on the disk, files will be fragmented, also slowing things down, apps will crash and the risk of data corruption - that is damage to your files, photos, music - increases exponentially.
Your first priority is to make more space on that HD. Nothing else can be done until you do.
Purchase an external HD and move your Photos and Music to it. Both iPhoto and iTunes can run perfectly well with the Library on an external disk.

  • Youtube 3D not working in 3D when uploading from Sony HDR-TD30V

I have two 3D camcorders Sony HDR-TD30V and Panasonic HDC-SDT750. Video's uploaded from Panasonic HDC-SDT750 play fine using mozilla's html5 format in 3D But uploading video's from my Sony HDR-TD30V only displays 3D in Red/Blue format. when I switch to HTML5 the first video I uploaded triggers my Nvidia stereo and displays the left/right frames too far apart. Original Raw video plays fine using MediaShow 6 . subsequent videos only play in Red/Blue or 2D with the video shrunk in size from top to bottom. Help! check out my playlist's

    http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLNzLZWq3qj3PARAxy5zThWI2RtEZT3vY2

I think that's more a youtube or camera problem than a Firefox problem.
However, I recommend you to opt-out from HTML5 and try if Flash version works.
Remember too that 3D videos will only show if quality is set to maximum HD quality available, so set 1080p in YouTube, that would explain also why a camera works and why the other one doesn't, maybe they have different resolutions.

  • Photo size when uploaded from camera

I have been trying to order prints off of snapfish, and keep getting the resolution warning on every single picture. I have a Canon Powershot camera and have adjusted it so that it is on the highest resolution, so I think the problem comes from uploading to iPhoto. According to snapfish, 4x6 photos need to be 540x360 pixels and all of my pictures seem to be 270x360 pixels. Can I fix this?

    1. Where are you getting these measurements from? These 270 x 360 sound like the thumnails that iPhoto creates for display in the iPhoto Window.
There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:
    *For Users of 10.5 Only*
You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Apple-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    Uploaded with plasq's Skitch!
    *For users of 10.4 and 10.5* ...
Many internet sites such as Flickr and SmugMug have plug-ins for accessing the iPhoto Library. If the site you want to use doesn’t then some, one or any of these will also work:
To upload to a site that does not have an iPhoto Export Plug-in the recommended way is to Select the Pic in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export and export the pic to the desktop, then upload from there. After the upload you can trash the pic on the desktop. It's only a copy and your original is safe in iPhoto.
This is also true for emailing with Web-based services. However, if you're using Gmail you can use iPhoto2GMail
If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
*If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running*:
Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    1. *Drag and Drop*: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    2. *File -> Export*: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    3. *Show File*: Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

  • Compensation Workbench - Amount not rounded when uploaded from spreadsheet

    Hi,
In CWB Allocate Merit and Lump Sum page, the Target Amount field has been defined to rounding code of 'Round to Nearest One'.
All amount with decimal value entered on the worksheet are rounded to the nearest one.
However, when downloaded to spreadsheet, Target Amount field can be entered with decimal value. And when uploaded, the decimal value is captured on the worksheet. Amount was not rounded. Only when change is triggered on the amount, the rounding works.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
I am fairly new to CWB but from what I have seen, you can write formulas in the "Default Values" fields in the basic layout section from the desktop integrators. Below is a formula that is written that rounds the value. It is set to constant so I am not sure if you can get it to work on an entry field. but you may know how.
    =IF(ISERROR(HANDLE_ROW_P_PL_XCHG_RATE),IF(OR(RC[-1]="",OR(RC[+1] =0,RC[+1] ="")),"",ROUND(RC[-1]/RC[+1]*100,2)),IF(OR(RC[-3]="",OR(RC[+1] =0,RC[+1] ="")),"",ROUND(RC[-3]/RC[+1]*100,2)))

  • Subreports won't show when put inside a tablix in the main report

I have a main report containing 5 subreports. My ultimate goal is to have a header with an image in it to only show within 2 of the subreports. I'm trying to achieve this by using a tablix and putting all of my subreports into the tablix on the main report,
and putting the image into the header of the tablix and using a hide/show query based on subreport name.
The problem is that when I put the subreports into the tablix and upload it to CRM it won't display at all. If I remove the tablix the subreports will run and display perfectly. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here or an alternative if there is an easier
way to achieve what I want?
    Thanks.

    Hi Ssizz,
Per my understanding your are experiencing the issue with the subreport which added to the tablix not displayed after upload to the CRM, right?
I have tested on my local environment and try to reproduce your issue but failed.
The issue can be caused by many factors, could you please try to provided us more details information according to questions below, and we will be more effective to give an solution:
Did the issue occurred only when your upload the main report to CRM, and Is there any error message, such as "Subreport Could Not Be shown"?
Did you run to check all the subreports and the main report which include the tablix with the 5 subreports in both the designer and the CRM one by one? Did they all running with no error?
Did you have add any parameters in the subreport and the main report, if did, please check if all the parameters work fine in the designer.
You have mentioned that when you remove the tablix, the subreports will run perfectly, Is that mean you put the subreport outside the tablix and have a test then all works fine? in the designer or in the CRM?
Please also take reference to the solution of some possible factors:
    1. If you got the error "Subreport Could Not Be shown" only in the CRM and all works fine in the designer, the issue can be caused by the relationship between parent report and sub report got disturbed and CRM doesn't able to link these sub reports.
From Reports section select the sub report and click on edit
Remove the value in Parent Report look up field
    Map Parent Report again
Re-publish the reports. Below steps will help us in publishing the reports again
Open command prompt on CRM application server
Go to Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Tools folder
    PublishReports.exe NameOfYourOrg
    Ex: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Tools\PublishReports.exe mytestcrm
If the above setting still doesn't work, please try to delete both the subreport and main report in CRM and try to upload once again, If it possible, please first redesign the main report in designer.

    2.  Another alternative method is using an rectangle instead of the tablix to put the subreports, you can use  this to see if the problem still exists.
Any problem, please feel free to ask.

  • Pasted lightboxes do not show when uploaded but do on browser preview

I created the lightbox display on the first page and then as i worked from page to page i would paste the original lightbox to the new page and replace the images and the captions but when i upload the site it doesn't show the lightboxes on the pages that i pasted the lightbox into it is just blank but the headers and footers are ok. The lightbox shows in the browser preview with all the images and captions.
all the images are there in the assets folder

Search the knowledge base for NET Red X and try out the solutions there.  If you are using .NET 2005 make sure to focus on the ones for it first.  It is usually either a web.config setting or not having the asp_client folder in the correct place.

  • Lightbox images not showing when uploaded to my website

    Hello
I'm creating a new website for my photography business, and have created three 'gallery' pages which are basically just a lightbox gallery on each page with 20 images in.
I uploaded my first page, gallery1, and the associated images and went to test it and some of the thumbnail images didn't appear. I renamed the images in my 'gallery1 thumbnails' folder (which had originally been the same names as the images in gallery1) by adding 'tb' at the end of each image name and reuploaded them to my host and it resolved the problem. I uploaded gallery2 in the same way and ran into the same problem. I renamed the images again and reuploaded as I had before to fix the problem, but it didn't fix it this time. I changed the names in gallery3 thumbnails first and uploaded them and they uploaded perfectly. I went back to gallery2, and noticed that all the images I was having a problem with had a '_' character in them. I took that out, reuploaded, still not working. I've double checked everything's as it should be, reuploaded everything a couple more times for good measure, and it works on live view and when I open the file on my computer but once they're uploaded to my host it doesn't work. Can anyone shed a bit of light on this for me? Page in question in here: http://www.emmarichards.co.uk/gallery-2.html and code is here:

    1) Padding is only placed on the top and/or bottom of the div. The elements within this div have padding on their sides. This saves you from any "box model math". Keep in mind, if you add any side padding or border to the div itself, it will be added to the width you define to create the *total* width. You may also choose to remove the padding on the element in the div and place a second div within it with no width and the padding necessary for your design.

these rules, with the exception of the images used for down or right pointing arrows, which are in the file SpryMenuBasic.css
These assume the following widget classes for menu layout (set in a preset)
.MenuBar - Applies to all menubars - default is horizontal bar, all submenus are vertical - 2nd level subs and beyond are pull-right.
.MenuBarVertical - vertical main bar; all submenus are pull-right.
You can also pass in extra classnames to set your desired top level menu bar layout. Normally, these are set by using a preset.
They only apply to horizontal menu bars:
MenuBarLeftShrink - The menu bar will be horizontally 'shrinkwrapped' to be just large enough to hold its items, and left aligned
MenuBarRightShrink - Just like MenuBarLeftShrink, but right aligned
MenuBarFixedLeft - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedLeft', and left aligned.
MenuBarFixedCentered -  - Fixed at a specified width set in the rule '.MenuBarFixedCentered',
and centered in its parent container.
MenuBarFullwidth - Grows to fill its parent container width.
In general, all rules specified in this file are prefixed by #MenuBar so they only apply to instances of the widget inserted along
with the rules. This permits use of multiple MenuBarBasic widgets on the same page with different layouts. Because of IE6 limitations,
there are a few rules where this was not possible. Those rules are so noted in comments.

/* IE6 rules - you can delete these if you do not want to support IE6 */
/* A note about multiple classes in IE6.
    * Some of the rules above use multiple class names on an element for selection, such as "hover" (MenuItemHover) and "has a subMenu" (MenuItemWithSubMenu),
    * giving the selector '.MenuItemWithSubMenu.MenuItemHover'.
    * Unfortunately IE6 does not support using mutiple classnames in a selector for an element. For a selector such as '.foo.bar.baz', IE6 ignores
    * all but the final classname (here, '.baz'), and sets the specificity accordingly, counting just one of those classs as significant. To get around this
    * problem, we use the plugin in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js to generate compound classnames for IE6, such as 'MenuItemWithSubMenuHover'.
    * Since there are a lot of these needed, the plugin does not generate the extra classes for modern browsers, and we use the CSS2 style mutltiple class
    * syntax for that. Since IE6 both applies rules where
    * it should not, and gets the specificity wrong too, we have to order rules carefully, so the rule misapplied in IE6 can be overridden.
    * So, we put the multiple class rule first. IE6 will mistakenly apply this rule.  We follow this with the single-class rule that it would
    * mistakenly override, making sure the  misinterpreted IE6 specificity is the same as the single-class selector, so the latter wins.
    * We then create a copy of the multiple class rule, adding a '.SpryIsIE6' class as context, and making sure the specificity for
    * the selector is high enough to beat the single-class rule in the "both classes match" case. We place the IE6 rule at the end of the
    * css style block to make it easy to delete if you want to drop IE6 support.
    * If you decide you do not need IE6 support, you can get rid of these, as well as the inclusion of the SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js script.
    * The 'SpryIsIE6' class is placed on the HTML element by  the script in SpryMenuBarIEWorkaroundsPlugin.js if the browser is Internet Explorer 6. This avoids the necessity of IE conditional comments for these rules.

Thank you in advance for any help!!

When I see code errors, I stop trying to trouble shoot  because code errors account for 98% of browser rendering problems.  When you clear up your orphaned tags: mismatched <p></p> and <li></li> tags, then I'll take a closer look.
PS. Being able to work with code is essential to using DW and 3rd party plugins.  Without basic coding skills, you're going to be lost most of the time.

My husband has a Halloween haunt. We are gearing up to promote this year's haunt (and our charity of choice this time), and I wanted to update the photos from last year. Admittedly, I am an experienced print designer, wanting to learn more about web design, so not a pro at this by any means.
I created 3 galleries via the automated Bridge CS5 export (saving each gallery to its own folder within the site folder), then placed each gallery's index file into an iframe div relevant to that year's photogallery (one web page for 2010, one for 2009, one for 2008) so I can keep the site's masthead and a link to go back to the main photos page. Everything works fine when I preview it (local) as well as test on browsers (local). However, when everything is uploaded to the hosting company server, there is a white box for each gallery. I am at a loss. Cannot figure this out, and we're almost into October!
URL for one of the gallery pages:  http://windyhillhaunt.com/photos2010/10gallery.html
URL to go in via the main photos page (select either 2010, 2009 or 2008):   http://windyhillhaunt.com/photos.html
Please help. I want this to work for my husband, but I also want to learn how to do this.
    Thanks in advance.
    Julie Fanning

I was never able to get it to work. Had all files from the root directory (all resources, images, css, etc) copied onto hosting company. Tried to alter the relative path (Kdn002), etc. Nothing worked other than local testing.
Finally downloaded jAlbum, used the same div and iFrame structure, and it worked! I may make some tweaks down the road, but it's working fine now.

  • Time Capsule won't show when trying to extend my network

I am not too bright at networking, but I will try my best to explain my problem. I have an existing wireless network with a non-Apple router. I use both a PC and a MacBook on this network. I am trying to use my Time Capsule to extend my network into another room. I start by resetting my Time Capsule. I then open the Airport utility, and my Time Capsule shows. I then go through and set all the new settings. While doing this, the utility also lets me select my existing network, and enter my password for that. It then accepts my settings, and beings to set my Time Capsule. It is at this point it can't seem to find the Time Capsule anymore??? I tried a few times and got the same thing. Help! Thanks.

The Time Capsule creates both a 5 GHz band and 2.4 GHz band on the Main network using the same wireless network name (SSID). The 5 GHz band offers faster communication between devices.
But, there's always a trade off. To get the higher speeds, this band must give up distance and penetration power, so it's pretty much a "line-of-sight" deal between your computer and Time Capsule.
The 2.4 GHz band penetrates walls, ceilings and other obstructions much more effectively. So, if your computer is in the same room as the Time Capsule or a close adjacent room, it will probably connect to the 5 GHz band. Down the hall and around the corner, or upstairs, it will probably connect to the 2.4 GHz band.
Your computer(s) will automatically connect to the best quality signal, not necessarily the fastest signal, (which could be much weaker).
If you enable the Guest network, your "guests" (or kids, perhaps) will be able to access the internet, but they will not be able to see any of your drives, computers, etc on the Main network. Nice feature.
Here's the downside. When you enable the Guest network, you are taking some bandwidth away from the Main network. So, it makes sense to enable the Guest network only when you have "guests".

  • All of my images are not showing to upload from Canon 5D to my MacBook Pro

This is driving me absolutely insane.... I uploaded 250 photos from my Canon 5D but I was having issues with them so I deleted them from my Mac and from Lightroom as well.  I went to upload them back onto my Mac and it's showing a different amount of photos each time I try to connect the camera.  It has shown 80, then 120 and sometimes it shows 25... I have no idea why Lightroom doesn't want to show all of the pics on my Canon 5D to import... PLEASE help.. one solution I'm thinking of is to connect my external HD to my wife's laptop with Windows XP and import them onto the external hard drive then connect the HD to my Mac and import them that way.. any ideas, thoughts suggestion or solutions would be greatly appreciated.. this seems so elementary to be happening with two such high caliber technologies.. Mac and Adobe.. please HELP!

A link to your test page is all you need to post.  We can see your code with our browser toolbars.

  • Hyperlinks won't work when copied from h to v layout

hi there, just created a dps folio with lots of hyperlinks (InDesign CS6 everything updated to the latest version).
First in the h version I put a rectangle above the piece of content I wish to be clickable, choose 'hyperlinks' and put the link in it then inside the folio overlays I make sure 'open in folio' is selected. Second I copied the rectangle to the v version of the layout, resize it so it's covering the right content. Inside the hyperlinks panel I'll find the links, sometimes when the rectangle is selected the link shows up darkened, but most of the time when I select the copied rectangle nothing changes inside the hyperlinks-links panel. In that case I selected the rectangle and clicked again on the hyperlink so I think it's 'bind' again.
Testing the folio on the iPad everything works fine in the horizontal version, but when i try the vertical pages not 1 link is working.
When re-ensure the hyperlinks are present in the v version, I noticed that clicking on the rectangles some of them do not highlight any hyperlink but others do and none of both work on the iPad. Strange is also when I click a rectangle who does not highlight any hyperlink and I then select (apply??) the hyperlink inside the hyperlinks panel to 'bind' both together the document would not let me save the document as if there's nothing changed on it..
Is this a bug or what am I doing wrong?
any hints and tips welcome ;-)
I've just deleted the hyperlinks overlays and tried with buttons overlay and 'go to url'. That seems to works on both direction.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.
I do not manage the group policy and I'll have it checked. One question though, if it is the policy then would it not affect Excel 2003 as well. When I use Excel 2003, I see buttons in toolbar, using which I convert excel file to pdf and first thing it does is scans for various things ( Hyperlinks is one of them ).
When I tried with excel 2007,  I can convert excel file to PDF by selecting print option and selecting Adobe there. It converts the file but the hyper links won't work.
One thing I noticed that using the pdf conversion buttons in toolbar in excel will convert hyperlinks too.
My problem here is that I do not see Adobe Acrobat converstion buttons in Excel 2007.

  • HT204406 Library stalls when uploading from Windows 7; starts over each time I open itunes.

Running windows 7 pro; latest version of iTunes; when running "Match," it uploads all of my songs (after a few restarts) but then stalls on the "rest of your music" upload.  (Total of about 15,000 songs: 10,000 "iTunes" songs; about 5,000 of "your music.")  Starts over from beginning when I restart it after iTunes closes itself out.  In other words, this does not appear to work with my system.  Any suggestions to get it working?
    Thanks!

My songs are also on an external hard drive. I upgraded iTunes on my computer at work where the program and songs are on the same drive, and that one seems to be working just fine. I think when I get home I'll try installing the iTunes program on the external drive where my songs are and see if that works.
