Won't stay pinned to it's position on the Taskbar

I have been using Firefox for years and love it. I am using Win7 and all my commonly used programs are pinned to the taskbar and when I open them, they open in their position on the Taskbar and cascades the windows here. However when I upgraded to V5, this doesn't occur. Instead it opens at the other end of the taskbar. I am avoiding upgrading to V5 because this is really annoying.

Hey, There are afew things you can try.
- Simply turn your phone off and back on again
- Hold down your home button and your lock button and let goes as soon as the screen goes black (Phone will power down) - Then turn on your phone and hey presto!
- Back up your iPhone to your PC, then restore it..
this ones last cause I think you may have tried it already..
- Close all open applications
Hope this helps!

  • My bluetooth keyboard won't stay connected. I have to hold the power button to type

    wireless keyboard says connected then connection lost. All I did was replace the batteries when the old ones died. Now I have to hold the power button just to type. Seems like a hardware problem not preferences. Any clues?

    Hello:
    Try resetting the PRAM and SMC.
    Then delete a preference file (com.apple.bluetooth.plist) and restart.

  • How can I pin multiple instances of Firefox to the taskbar in Windows 7 with different web addresses

    I pinned Yahoo Mail to my taskbar by dragging it down from the desktop. When I try to do that with a second address, it doesn't pin the second address, only a second copy of Yahoo mail.

    I just set Safari's option to None. That is I right clicked on the dock, selected options, and chose none. Also, in Mission Control's tab of System Preferences I clicked Off When switching to an application, switch to a space with open windows for that application. That let me open a new Safari window no matter what desktop I was in. But I had to do both. Just setting the desktop option to none didn't seem to do it. Finder seems to work okay with just the none option set.

  • "Fit to Window" won't stay from page to page

    I just installed Firefox and can't get the amount of zoom to stay from page to page. I downloaded Default FullZoom Level but all it gives me is a list of options every time I go to a new page. I check "Fit to Window" but it won't stay and it doesn't give me the option of making it default. Thanks.

    I found out it was my keyboard's software. If you have a different keyboard it may still be the cause.
    This worked for me nicely. I can close itunes whenever I want now.

  • Itunes won't stay open.

    I recently just updated my Macbook Pro (older version from 2010, 10.6.8), including Itunes. Now I tunes won't stay open. Whenever I click on the icon to start It flashes open but then closes immediately. I recently had my hard drive wiped because of a problem so if that could be a contributing factor I don't know. Itunes was working fine before the update.

  • Numbers won't stay open

    When I open Numbers, it won't stay open. It opens, I select the document I want to edit, click on a cell and Numbers shuts down. It also shuts down if it's open and I click on a window for another app. No crash message or anything like that. Just - poof, and it's gone. Thanks for your help.

    Do a clean (re)install and delete the Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\).
    Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 10.0.x: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
    Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible.
    *Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data because all profile folders will be removed.
    Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.
    If that still gives problems then create a new profile.

  • IBooks won't stay open?

    Help, my iBooks won't stay open. I was trying to download a ebook and now the app won't stay open

    Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.

  • My labeled files on my macbook pro won't stay colored

    my labeled files on my macbook pro won't stay colored

    Ok, in theory you cannot lock the hard drive, so, run Disk Utlities, First Aid, Repair Hard Drive again.  It should come back with a message that all is OK.  Then run Repair Permissions.  That often returns a lot of messages that are not actually problems, just grumbling by the system.
    Then try a normal restart by clicking the apple left side of the menu bar, Restart.  If you restart normally all is fine.
    If not, then restart on the recovery HD again and try an Install Mac OS X and see if that succeeds this time.

  • Native VPN PPTP client won't stay connected

    Folks,
    I have setup my VPN using the Mac OSX native PPTP VPN client to connect to my client's work network. However, it appears that it won't stay connected.  I have been searching the net for answers.  I can't find a definitely one.  Does anyone have the same issue where you can share your solution with me please?
    To be more specific, I have a Windows XP laptop and a Mac.  I connect to the same VPN on both machines.  The Windows XP laptop will stay connected while the mac will drop the connection randomly.  This is particularly true when my Mac went to sleep and then wake up.
    In my PPTP VPN setup, I have already uncheck the option "Disconnect when user logs out" option in the Advance setting.
    Also, this appears to be Mac OSX issue because I have another client where I can use the Cisco AnyWhere VPN client to connect and the connection stays connected all the time including the time when my Mac went into sleep mode.
    My mac is the new MacBook Pro with Retina display running Mountain Lion (The original OS is Lion and then upgraded to Mountain Lion) and I am using the Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter to connect to my wire network.  It doesn't make much difference even if I switch over to a Wireless connection.  In both cases, the VPN just won't stay connected.
    Can someone point me to the right direction as to where I can trouble shoot this please?  Thanks.

    Thanks sberman.  In the article, it mentions something about VPN on Demand, where in the setup do you see this setup?  I am in the Network setup area and I am not finding this.  Also, if I turn on the "Use verbose loggin", where is the log file?  Is it still the /var/log/ppp.log file
    Also, one more thing, my main ethernet connection setting does not include a proxy setting.  But my VPN setup includes a proxy setting.  Do you think that I may need to update the main ethernet setting to add the proxy setup to it as well? But I don't want to keep updating the main ethernet connection network setting to switch between proxy or not.  Any suggestion will be welcome.
    Thanks.

  • Songs won't stay on iPad

    I just got the new iPad (3rd gen) and I'm about to lose my mind. I'm trying to sync it with iTunes (ver 10.6 and Windows 7) and my songs won't stay on the iPad. Neither will the album artwork. I originally had it on auto sync, but that put it in a continual sync cycle. It wouldn't stop syncing. So then I set it to manual sync and I can get songs on the iPad, but they won't stay there. They'll disappear while the iPad is still plugged in. I'll be looking right at the iPad, and one second the songs are there, the next, a whole bunch have disappeared (not ALL songs disappear). It seems that mostly songs that I have in my playlist disappear (but again, not ALL of them disappear!) All of the songs appear as if they're on the iPad because they'll show up on my computer (under Devices), but if I look at my iPad they're not there (and neither is the artwork, even though I checked off "download album artwork"). I also have all songs checked, so they should all be syncing but they're not. I just ran a diagnostics through iTunes and all tests were passed. For the past two days I've tried every combination of checking and unchecking different options. This was NEVER this difficult when I had my iPod! Someone help before I chuck this thing out the window!!!!!!

    That should not be happening and it sure sounds as though you are doing what you should be doing so before you chuck the thing out the window .... give me your address and enough time to get to where you live and I will stand outside your window and catch the iPad on the way down .... or you can try this.
    Start all over again. Quit iTunes, restart your computer and restart the iPad. See if that makes a difference.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Another thing to try is to unsync all music - uncheck the sync music headng and sync with iTunes to remove all of it - then check the heading again and sync and see if that works.

  • Apple tv won't stay connected to wifi

    my apple tv won't stay connected to wifi.  what's the issue?

    Answers can only be as helpful as the details provided.  And in this case none were give.  What is happening?  Error message?  Other WiFi devices have issues?  It is actually losing the connection or is your streaming content just freezing?
    Trying to do streaming video over WiFi is not a great idea.  Even if you are using the really high end WiFi hardware it will never be completely solid.  You really want to use a wired connection for that.

  • Combo drive suddenly won't stay closed, how do I fix this?

    Hello,
    today, my combo drive suddenly came open and won't stay closed anymore. If I push the close button it closes, and then just opens again. I have tried repairing my disk and reinstalling OSX, I even tried a different keyboard in case the eject key was sticking. I can't figure out what is wrong. Is the drive bad? Can I get a replacement drive that I can install myself if this is the problem?
    Thanks for you help.
    Flat Panel iMac 700 MHz CD-R/DVD-ROM Combo Drive   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

    Had the same problem (as have a LOT of others).
    Took the following action which (knock on wood) seems to have solved it!
    Plug in iPhone; when Sync starts, click on "iPhone" under Devices; click on "Summary" page; under Options at the bottom of the page, uncheck "Sync wiyh this iPhone over ..."; click apply; exit after sync is complete......my problem disappeared!
    Note: if the box is already unchecked, try checking it; apply; uncheck; apply
    Good luck!

  • FireFox windows open in the taskbar change position

    Have 3 or 4 windows open. When working on a window it hangs for a few second, then moves to a different position on the taskbar. Happens on my laptop with Vista and new desktop with Windows 7. The window that hangs will move to the last position after hanging. How do I keep the windows open from moving on the taskbar?
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
    == I upgraded to version 3.6

    Hello Nordhaus.
    If you rightclick any task in the taskbar you can select to "pin it to the taskbar". That's handy with Firefox because you'll be able to open it from there, instead of going to the start menu.

  • Pinning Programs to the Taskbar via unattend.xml

    Trying to pin the following programs to the taskbar buy adding them in the "amd64_Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup__neutral"of the specialize pass of unattend.xml file used by SCCM\OSD in the "Apply Operating System' step.
    -<TaskbarLinks>
    <Link0>%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office\Microsoft Word 2010.lnk</Link0> <Link1>%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office\Microsoft Excel 2010.lnk</Link1> <Link2>%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Microsoft\Windows\Start
    Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office\Microsoft Outlook 2010.lnk</Link2>
    </TaskbarLinks>
    I edited the unattend file using WSIM tool and every other setting I applied  using the file has worked but these just dont show up on the taskbar.
    Weird thing is if i manually pin say Word for example  to the taskbar after the OSD deployment is complete and hover the mouse over it it will display as Microsoft Word 2010 (2) as if it is the 2nd time the program has been pinned to the taskbar even
    though you can only see one of them. same for Excel and Outlook but if I add say Access it will not have the (2) after it
    So it's like the settings from the unttend file are working somewhat as Win7 thinks there is already a shortcut there but they are just not displaying...
    I've seen others saying this can only be done when syspreping and call the unattend at that time but if that is true why is it in the "amd64_Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup__neutral" Components of WSIM?

    I presume you are not also configuring any of the same links in the StartPanelLinks? (I have heard that it sometimes causing conflicts).
    I agree the Deployment guys stuff is heavily MDT-centric but in this instance all that is required to use their script is to copy the ZTIUtility.vbs
    (from the scripts folder in toolkit package) and no environment changes. However you don't even need to do this as you could simply adapt their code snippet and put into a vbs file (A bare bones example of this is shown below but with no error checking or
    logging, which is built into the Deployment Guys sample script).You could configure this to be run once by each user when they first logon (e.g. via ActiveSetup or RunOnce registry key) .
    Const CSIDL_COMMON_PROGRAMS = &H17
    Const CSIDL_PROGRAMS = &H2
    Set objShell = CreateObject("Shell.Application")
    Set objAllUsersProgramsFolder = objShell.NameSpace(CSIDL_COMMON_PROGRAMS)
    strAllUsersProgramsPath = objAllUsersProgramsFolder.Self.Path
    Set objFolder = objShell.Namespace(strAllUsersProgramsPath & "\Microsoft Office")
    Dim arrShortcuts
    arrShortcuts = Array("Microsoft Office Word 2010.lnk", _
    "Microsoft Office Excel 2010.lnk", _
    "Microsoft Office Outlook 2010.lnk")
    Dim i, objShortcut
    i = 0
    For Each objShortcut In arrShortcuts
    Set objFolderItem = objFolder.ParseName(arrShortcuts(i))
    PinToTaskBar(objFolderItem)
    i = i+1
    Next
    Sub PinToTaskBar(FolderItem)
    For each verb in FolderItem.Verbs()
    If verb.Name = "Pin to Tas&kbar" then
    verb.DoIt()
    End If
    Next
    End Sub
    Thanks you very much I will give this a shot.
    But no i was not trying to add anything to the StartPanelLinks, just want to add 3 items to taskbar (which I understand 3 is the limit). Frustrating that you have to resort to scripts when the setting to do it appears to be
    there for you to use in the WSIM setting  but it just doesn't work

  • My iPad2 won't stay in the horizontal view position

    My iPad2 won't stay in the horizontal view position. I have it unlocked so I believe it should switch between views as I move it.  Before I make a trip to the Apple store I want to make sure it's not user error!

    Unlocked allows the screen to rotate as you rotate the device. Locked is supposed to keep the screen fixed in one orientation. However the function of the switch on the side can be swapped between orientation lock and mute, so it might not be perfoming the job you expect it to. Check Settings > General > Side Switch.
