Trying to moving all my contact info from iphone to imac address book. i select sync contacts on the info tab of itunes but it only moves over a handfull of my contacts - not all of them. anyone know why and how to fix?

The CardMunch app is optimized for iOS devices such as your iPhone and iPad, not Mac OS X.
    Two different operating systems.
If you want to sync Contacts to both the iPhone and iPad and your Mac, use iCloud.

  • I cannot sync contacts from Iphone to Imac

I am syncing my Iphone 4s to my new Imac and my contacts arent showing up anywhere? What am I doing wrong?

Have you chosen to sync Contacts in iTunes?  If your contacts are not showing up in the Address Book on whatever Mac you're using, the obvious thing to check is the sync in iTunes.  Be careful to make sure that you sync from the phone to the computer and not vice versa.
Just to be safe you might backup the phone to iCloud first so that your contacts will be in the iCloud.  Use this for instructions:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859

  • Sync contacts from Iphone to Imac 10.9.5

I got a new Iphone 5s it is running IOS 8 they took my contacts from my droid to my iphone. I also have an Imac at home that has all of my family contacts in it. Now I created a group called cell phone in my Contacts apps now i want to take all my contacts from my Iphone and have them sync into this group called cell phone . How can I do this? I dont want to sync the contact with the every contact I have on my Imac it would take me for ever to sort them out.

    iCloud enabled on both devices.
iPhone 4: Logged into iCloud, and Contacts selected in iCloud preferences.
iMac: Logged into iCloud, and within iCloud Preferences, Contacts checked.
    Works perfectly for me.

  • Syncing contacts from iPhone back to iMac (Entourage)

Briefly, after both my Time Machine and hard drive failed, I lost all my data. My Entourage contacts re-main on my iPhone, and I want to sync them back to Entourage. I understand the process of "merging,"but I have run into a few obstacles: I am using the latest version of iTunes (7.6.2), by the way. First, under Preferences, I have no options available under "Syncing." Then, when I connect my iPhone, and select "Info," I have no options here, either. I do have a number of contacts in Entourage in my iMac, but, apparently, iTunes no longer recognizes the existence of this program, so I can go no-
where. (My Entourage Contacts have been duplicated in my Address Book, but that doesn't show up, either. Something must be terribly corrupted.) I'm both frustrated and perplexed, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance. pah

Something to check when syncing contacts from iphone back to computer, make sure to open address book and enter at least one contact.
Then when you connect the iphone, you should get a message asking if you want to merge the data.
Click merge and this should copy all contacts from the iphone back into address book.
the same goes with ical also.
Make sure there is at least one event in ical.
Now to move the data in address book and ical to entourage is set in the entourage preferences in the sync services section.
    Hope this helps.

    Define "everything"...
Contacts will be in whatever Contacts on your Mac assuming you actually selected that in iTunes. Calendar items in iCal. Reminders/Notes depend on what version of OS X you're running...

  • How do you Sync Contacts from iPhone to MacBook?

How do you Sync Contacts from iPhone to MacBook?
Hi,  Does anyone know how to do this without the need for me to upgrade to Lion on my MAcBook Pro and use the iCloud?
I put all my contacts into my iPhone and I'd like them now on my MAcBook Pro.
    Thanks,

Click on your iDevice on the sidebar of iTunes and then go to the info tab at the top. check the box shown here:
This will put the contacts from an iDevice to the computer. You can then check the same box on the (let's say iPad) that doens't have any contacts and they will go from your comp to your iPad.

  • Syncing contacts FROM IPhone MANUAL.  PC

So this is basically a continuation of bsohl's thread Syncing Contacts FROM iPhone?.
For those of you that are in a similar situation to this:
    1. You're on a PC.
    2. Your primary storage space for contacts is your phone.
    3. Your email client isn't compatable with ITunes.
    4. You want to back up your contacts.
Follow these few steps to make your backup happen:
    1. Sign up for a new yahoo email address.
    2. In the info tab in ITunes select Sync Contacts with Yahoo Address Book.
    3. At the prompt enter in your new yahoo email address and password.
    4. Hit 'apply'. At this point you may have to hit sync or it might just do it automatically. I can't remember.
    Here comes the magic
    5. You will see the following prompt: http://a425.ac-images.myspacecdn.com/images01/89/l_dfc21c0b2fd5015780fbaad7fddb3 798.gif
    6. Select 'merge'.
    7. Wait a few seconds.
    8. Check your contacts in your yahoo email account and they should all be there.
    9. Sweet!
    10. Good luck.

You can also sync your contacts to Microsoft Address Book. Go to the info pane with your phone connected to change the settings.
Your iphone backup also contains your contact info. So before you sync, back up your phone manually, here's how to:
Disable autosync in iTunes/settings/devices, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing.
Do the same to transfer your purchases by choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the phone for the first time.

  • Unable to sync contacts from iPhone to Address Book...works the other way

I am unable to have changes on my iPhone reflect in my Mac's address book. For example, I would delete a contact on the iphone, but it stays there in the Mac's address book after sync. The worst part is that now on subsequent syncs, the contact is never added back to the phone or deleted from the computer. I am able to create as many contacts as I want on the phone and sync them to the address book, but just not delete modify them.
Creating/deleting contacts in the address book works.
    So far, I have tried:
    1. Resetting the sync history.
    2. Replacing all my iPhone contacts with those in address book.
    3. Unselecting and reselecting sync contacts from iTunes.
    4. Archiving my address book, deleting everything in it, syncing, and then repopulating it.
    5. Restoring my iPhone.
None of this has worked, and I am close to pulling my hair out. I just fixed issues with the new Safari bookmarks sync, and now this. Can anyone please help me fix this issue? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for the idea of looking at the Console. I've created new contacts on my MacBook and my iPhone, but neither is syncing to the other, in fact a new contact group I created in Address Book doesn't even show up in the list of groups in the Contacts sync window in iTunes. Here's what the Console says every time I sync:

How do i sync my contacts from iphone to ipad?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Log into your iCloud account on both devices and enable contact syncing on each.

  • Syncing contacts from iphone to laptop where both devices have different lists

Some of my Contacts are stored on Outlook on my computer, however others are stored only on my iphone. How do I synch the two so both Outlook and iphone end up with the same set of contacts? Scared to synch in case one set is wiped out in the process. Also, can I do this without synching music?

    Hi, JoBrem
iCloud is useful for a lot of things and backing up your iPhone's data is one of them. Included in the data and files that you can safely keep using iCloud are your contacts. The following instructions detail how to transfer contacts from iPhone to computer.
Step 1. On your iPhone, tap on Settings. On the "Settings" menu, select "iCloud". You will then be taken to the iCloud Settings.
Step 2. Enable the "Contacts" setting and should you be informed that you'll have to merge your contacts to iCloud, tap "Merge".
Step 3. Now on your computer, go to iCloud.com and login with your iCloud credentials.
Step 4. Once you're logged in, click on the Contacts icon to access your address book and all iCloud features for the contacts you've uploaded.
Step 5. In the address book, click on the cog icon at the lower-left portion, click "Select All", and "Export vCard" afterwards.
Step 6. iCloud will then give you a vCard that you can store on your computer. It contains all the contacts you've uploaded to iCloud using your iPhone.

  • How to sync Contacts from iPhone to iCal or MobileMe?

I have ONE copy of Contacts that is correct: on my iPhone.
I really need to push the contacts from my iPhone to my empty MobileMe AddressBook or to my empty iCal AddressBook.  I've spent an hour researching this on the Web. Does anyone know how to push the Contacts in this direction?
I had thought that iTunes Sync of Contacts was always two-way (KB article http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386 says it is!); but apparently, with the iPhone, it is only one way (if a Mac Address Book or the MobileMe AddressBook is empty, the sync will wipe the contacts off the iphone).
    Desperately need help.  Thanks!

OK, I finally got it fixed.  And I figured out my missteps, too.  Here you go (I tested it three times, and part of the testing procedure included deleting ALL data in MobileMe AND the AddressBook on my Mac):
Procedure for Pushing Good Set of Contacts on iPhone to all other platforms
Problem: Your iPhone has your only good set of contacts.  Your iCal and MobileMe (cloud) contacts are not there or corrupted.
Complication: If you try to delete your corrupted MobileMe Contacts on the cloud in preparation for pushing the valid set of contacts from the iPhone up to the MobileMe cloud, the system tends to do a one-way sync and immediately delete all your iPhone contacts (the good set!).
    Solution and procedure:
For starters, forget about iTunes.  We are not going to use it at all for this procedure.
Back up Address Book on the Mac.  OK, so this copy might be corrupted or incomplete; do it anyway: File, Export, Address Book Archive.  It keeps your groups and their member sets, too.
Go into MobileMe Settings on your Mac, then to the Sync tab.  Make sure sync is set to Manual.  You can leave Sync turned on; it won't sync until you tell it to, because you just set it to Manual.
OK, we're assuming your iPhone has the best, correct set of AddressBook Contacts, Groups, and Group member lists.
So now put your iPhone in Airplane mode.  MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE YOU DO THIS!!!
On the iPhone, go to Settings, Mail, Contacts, Calendars, MobileMe, and turn OFF Contacts in Settings on iPhone.  The iPhone should immediately give you a prompt.  Make sure you press "Keep contacts on iPhone," NOT "Delete."  (And if you don't get that message, something is wrong.)
Check to make sure Contacts and Groups are still there on iPhone.  They should be.  Double check to make sure your iPhone is in Airplane Mode.
Now open AddressBook on Mac and delete all Contacts AND all Groups.  (You can always recover these from the earlier backup you made.)
Then delete ALL contacts in MobileMe on the Web.
MAKE SURE MAC ADDRESS BOOK AND MOBILEME ADDRESS BOOK ARE EMPTY.
    Log off MobileMe.
Check to see that Contacts are still on the iPhone, and that there is only ONE set of groups.  And you should still be in Airplane Mode!
On iPhone, turn back ON Contacts.  You may get the message "The contacts you previously synced with your Mac will be merged with Mobile Me."  (This message is a bit confusing, but don't worry about that.)  (If you don't get that message, something is wrong.)  Click on "Merge" to turn back ON Contacts on iPhone.
Take iPhone out of Airplane Mode.
Go to iPhone desktop, double press the black menu button, and close all Apps.
Now reboot iPhone immediately.  (Very important!  Procedure doesn't always work unless you do this.)
Once rebooted, check to see that Contacts are still there on the iPhone, and that there is only ONE set of groups.  If AddressBook starts syncing while you're doing this, let it finish before you do anything else.
Now open MobileMe.  Go to Contacts.  The procedure should have synced the Contacts properly.  If you see zero Contracts in the All Contacts group, go to a subgroup, and then back; or go to a different part of MobileMe (Calendar, etc.), and then come back to AddressBook.  All your contacts should then appear in the full Address Book.
    Log off MobileMe.
Open Address Book on Mac.  It should still be empty.  Close it.
Open MobileMe settings on Mac.  Go to Sync tab.  Click on Advanced button on bottom right.  Select the current computer you're on and make SURE it stays selected.
    Now click "Reset Sync data."
Change graphic of platform sync to "Cloud---->Computer."
    Set "Replace" to Contacts.
    Hit Replace.
This should immediately populate your AddressBook on your Mac with the correct info from the MobileMe cloud.  Open AddressBook and make sure it did, and that the groups are there and populated.
Now, if all three platforms have correct info, you can go to MobileMe settings on Mac, Sync tab, and change it to "Synchronize with MobileMe automatically" to keep MobileMe and iCal on your Mac in sync.  (MobileMe and your iPhone are already set up to sync automatically per earlier steps in this procedure.)
Now that you have a good copy of your Contacts and Groups in AddressBook on your Mac, backup it up.
