Won't sync iCal to iPod

Am Mac OS 10.4.11. Am trying to sync my iCal (2.0.5) using iTunes (7.6) to my 5G ipod video. When I click on 'Sync iCal Calendars' and hit apply a message comes up saying that I don't have any calendars available. I click on open iCal and it opens. I can then go back to itunes and click apply. Nothing shows up on my ipod under calendars. Any ideas???

Similar problem, just arose (likely with the most recent updates). Running iCal 2.0.5, iTunes 7.6 and Address Book 4.0.6. Address book and iCal both have plenty of entries in them. Have selected to Sync iCal Calendars and also Sync Address Book Contacts (and have "All Contacts" and "All Calendars" selected, too, though even choosing them manually does not help).
Despite the fact that it says it is "Syncing iPod" and "Syncing contacts and calendars on iPod" when I click Sync, my iPod has no entries in the Extras/Contacts and Extras/Calendars area, when previously, all my calendars and contacts where there. I have been doing this on this iPod (new 8g Nano) for 6+ months without a hitch, and dating back much further than this with older iPods.
I even went so far as to copy my Users/xxxx/Libary folder and piecemeal it back in place, but this did not solve the problem.
Any help out there? Anyone else have this problem?

I have transferred mymusic to my new mac air from an acer laptop via an external hard drive and it's all there on the mac but now itunes won't sync with my ipod touch or my iphone 4s.
With the ipod it says 'iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. Could not connect to the device " It also doesn't show up at all in the devices section.
With the iphone it says there isn't enough space to sync even though I have experimented and unticked various things including photos which takes up a lot of space. It seems like it wants to sync with the empty space on the iphone (very small!) and not with the whole thing. I have tried various things suggested on this forum but have had no luck.

HOW IT HAPPENED: I had my iPod touch (32GB, 3rd generation) plugged into a speaker charging whilst playing music, and simultaneously I had iTunes (latest version for windows) open on my laptop (Dell - Windows). My iPod started to sync wirelessly with iTunes on my laptop and my music suddenly cut off.
WHAT HAPPENED: Once the sync had finished, all (almost 4000) songs (and videos) had been wiped off my iPod (including any playlists) with the exception of less than thirty songs, all of which I'd noticed were songs I'd purchased on the iTunes store, a seemingly random selection though - some from a couple of months ago, some from a couple of years ago.
I closed down everything on my laptop and restarted both laptop, iTunes and iPod then plugged my iPod in to sync. My iTunes library on my laptop is fully intact, complete with playlists, and I'm able to play songs normally from there, however despite numerous attempts, they just won't sync onto my iPod. Interestingly, no apps were deleted from my iPod. There's plenty of room on my iPod now, and even when everything on my iTunes library is synced onto it, there's still around 3GB space, so it can't be an issue to do with lack of space. I have no idea why it's happened, and the settings are for everything on iTunes to be synced to my iPod (I checked again) so it's not an issue with selective items to sync only either.

I have the same problem!! only thing is that i have the ipod touch 5th generation and a mac. I've been trying to find a way to get all my music to play cuz it will only play on itunes but when i try to play it on my ipod it'll just show a circle with a red square in the middle next to the songs i cant play.

Import audio book to itunes but it won't sync to my ipod

I am at a complete loss. I have been importing audio books from the public library to itunes and then putting them on my ipod for months. All of a sudden the books won't sync to my ipod. Songs work ok, but my audio books don't. The little sync icon spins and the itunes screen says it is updating but it only lasts for a few seconds and the book is not on my ipod. I have done everything I can think of including restoring my ipod back to the original settings which lost everything. I don't know what else to do.

I purchased music from Amazon. It downloaded to ITunes Library but won't sync/download to IPod (Nano 4th gen.) Plays with no problem on my Mac Pro but can't get it downloaded to my IPod. How can I resolve?

If you right click on the song it will give you an option such as Create AAC version or Create mp3 version.
To control what option appears Preferences, general.
At the bottom right is a button called import settings. This will start another dailog box where you can choose which encoder to use
Select Mp3 version.
Go back to your song and create an mp3 version and see if that synces

I had some time finally figuring why I could buy and download from the Itunes store, but could not load it on my IPOD. What finally worked was plugging my IPOD in to the computer, as I would when "syncing", and, after loading, it would show my device in the side bar. You have to go to VIEW in the top Tool Bar and click on SHOW SIDE BAR in the drop down menu. "SUMMARY' tab, on top, is what I clicked on to show an option of restoring my IPOD to the factory defaults. It erases everything on the IPOD, but gives an option of AUTOFILL afterwards, which it does from the computer. This is one solution of many you could try. Good luck.

Does anyone know why my iTunes won't sync with my iPod nano. When I follow all the directions, the last step says "Click on Apply", but there is no "Apply" on the screen.

Double check to make sure podcasts and configured to sync to your device from under the iPod's Podcast configuration tab.
To access the Podcasts tab for your iPod, plug your iPod in and click on it from under the Devices section in the left hand pane of iTunes. This will bring you to the Summary tab. Along the top you should see a Podcasts tab, so go ahead and click on it. Here you can configure how and what podcasts sync to your iPod.
If you do make any changes to do this tab, make sure to hit the Apply button in the lower right hand corner to apply the update changes to your device.

My apps won't sync to my ipod, any ideas why?

I've downloaded a heap of new apps but they won't sync to my ipod. when i drag them onto new pages and hit sync, everything else will sync on but the apps remove themeselves. I hace no idea why, so if anyone else does know, please help me out.

Are the apps compatible with your mode iPod and its iOS?
Have you successfully synced apps from this iTunes library/computer before? While you can add music and videos from any iTunes library, you can only sync apps from the one syncing computer you can have.

HT4095 Half my TV season won't sync to my iPod Classic. I just want what I paid for.

I downloaded the series of a TV show in HD and SD, but something must've happened in the middle of downloading because now only the first half of the episodes are also available in SD, even though they were ALL available in SD at the beginning of my download. So now I can't watch the other half on my iPod. (And iTunes won't let me create an "iPod version." It won't let me click on it after highlighting the four episodes of that season that won't sync to my iPod.)

There is a way to sync your HD tv shows and movies to your ipod. When you go into your itunes account - select purchases - select TV shows or movies, select the show or movie that you want to sync, now on the bottom of the screen uncheck the box that reads download HD when available. This should create a standard definition show for you to sync to your ipod. Hope this works for you!

I'm going on a hike tomorrow with my dad and I'd been reluctant to download iTunes on my new laptop but finally decided to install it so I could have new music for the trip. I bought nearly ninety new songs, all of which appeared in my library, and on my account they are shown with my old songs. But my iPod isn't syncing the new music? Really I planned to start from scratch and not have them together, but that would be fine if they would just download. I don't understand. They're in my library, but won't download to my iPod.
