Won't sync or update, only music with a lot of luck

I just bought a new ipod 8 gb and I am working on windows xp. When I connect my ipod to Itunes it will sync, but then Itunes reject the ipod and it's impoissible to update postcasts, update/reset the ipod from Itunes or anything else. And I saw that a lot of people have this problem, but I never saw a solution or explaination for this problem. It's not the version of Itunes and not the version of Ipod, it's all the most updated version. Is my iPod damaged? Or is it just something with Itunes, a wrong configuration setting?
Thanks very much for the solution.

Here is the answer I found out. When the Ipod is syncing with Itunes, select the option for the removable harddisk. Then it will not eject it selfs and itunes will not crash anymore. If you can't make it in the time the Ipod is syncing, just arrange that he got a lot of songs (or something else) to transfer when you plug in your ipod. Then you will have enough time...

  • ITunes won't sync all of my music to iPhone 4s

iTunes won't sync all of the music, it is skipping random songs, they still come up on the Music on the phone but cannot be played.. If anyone knows how to fix this please help.

Was this music purchased from iTunes or ripped? I have had problems in the past when I changed Apple IDs, and the content purchased through my previous account would not sync. If memory serves, I think it was an issue to do with the Mac not being authorised to access my old account. Signing in with my old account and authorising it resolved it. Not sure if this helps, but thought I would share.

Sounds like you don't meet the system requirement for either the iPhone or iPad and/or have not updated your iTunes.

160gb ipod classic won't sync since update to 11.2.2, system wants to wipeout all current info on device

same has happened to me,  on and off,   for the last 6 months.   Its an issue with the Mavericks system and ipod classics.    works great for a while -  then one day for no reason - erases the entire iPod.   some days the copmputer will not recognize the iPod and you have to start over.  Apple will tell you that "you" may have a disc problem in the device.  that is all the help I have received.

My ipod (nano, 6th generation) won't sync to a new computer with different stuff on it. Itunes on the new computer doesn't give the usual warning that you are about to lose all your existing stuff and the ipod *appears* to sync but when it's done it still has the stuff from the other computer on it. • My ipod won't sync any of the music i downloaded and says that iTunes can't backup the Ipod because a session couldn't be started with the Ipod how do i fix this

My ipod won't sync any thing in my iTunes library it always stop as soon as it starts backingup the Ipod a message appears that says iTunes cannot backup the Ipod "my Ipod" because a session couldn't be started withthe Ipod how do i fix this problem?
This is exactly what the message says: iTunes could not back up the iPod "austins ipod" because a session could not be started with the iPod.

Try connecting your ipod to another computer and sync only 1 file or song just for isolation purpose only to see if it'll sync.
If still not syncing, then porbably you may have a bad iOS installed in iPod which is hard to see if it has a problem because you said nothing's wrong with iPod. I just saying is, it MIGHT have a bad iOS.
If you are unable to do a restore, put your ipod in DFU mode, then connect to iTunes and iTunes will detect your ipod in restore mode. Press shift key (PC keyboard) then click the restore button on iTunes. I hope you have your copy of IPSW file for restoration purposes.

  • IPod Won't Sync After Updating to iTunes 10

Whenever I click sync to add the music that I purchased in the online store, it says that it is syncing the ipod, but then stops and then loads on the ipod screen for it being okay to disconnect. I've reinstalled itunes 10, tried itunes 8 (wouldnt work because library was converted to itunes 10) and it still does this same exact thing where it won't sync my music from the library on my computer to the ipod.
    Help please.

Since upgrading iTunes I've noticed that not all of my podcasts will sync - one or two are always left out. Syncing again will get the stragglers, but it used to work just fine.
Another issue, possibly related, is I've seen an accumulation of 'Other' data on my iPod that I can't identify. I'm beginning to think it might be abandoned audio files from auto updating smart playlists that remove selections after they've been played. Doesn't happen with podcasts, though, because that smart playlist refuses to auto update on the iPod.

  • IOS 6 won't sync all of my music!

Today, I upgraded my iPod touch 4th Gen. to iOS6 and now all of my music won't sync! Out of 995 songs, only 15 synced! I've tried to fix it, but so far nothing has worked! Is there a solution?

    I have some suggestions.
    1. Make sure the track, artist or album titles don't have special characters anywhere such as:  / < ~ etc...
    2. In iTunes right click and select 'Create MP3 Version'
    3. deselect the track(s) that are not syncing and perform a sync. Then reselect track(s) and sync again
Since your having problems with so many songs... you might want to try this on just a handfull to ensure it works.
Just trying to help as this fixed my problem.

  • Computer won't sync all of my music?

I got a new latop (HP) and I downloaded iTunes and plugged in my phone (4s). The only music that showed up in my iTunes library was the music purchased on my phone. The rest of the music that i bought on my old computer won't show up.

  • IPod Touch suddenly won't sync after updating app

I installed an update for an app and now my ipod touch won't sync. The mac doesn't see it and it doesn't even charge when hooked up. It charges fine with the same cable on a wall charger. My son's ipod is fine, I've restarted the ipod and the mac, I've reset the ipod, i've swapped usb's and cables, no luck. I've tried holding down the lock and power buttons. Its a 32 gig model, SW version 3.1.3. Can I uninstall an app? I suspect its tic tac toe free causing the problem

    Welcome to the discussions,
you can delete the app on your ipod by touching the icon until it starts to shake, then hit the little cross to delete it.
Did you try to connect in recovery mode to see if it is recognized by your mac? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808

  • IPod Touch 4th Gen won't sync to updated iTunes

I have the most recent iTunes (11.1.1) and a 4th Gen iPod Touch (6.1.3) that connects just fine to iTunes, but will not sync. It gets through the backup and just closes without warning. It won't sync with the changes I made in my library, adding new songs, deleting old tracks, and unchecking/rechecking other songs, reorganized/new playlists, etc., something which I've never had an issue with before.
Is the new iTunes incompatible with my iPod?
Is there a way to fix this without having reset my iPod?
I'll do what I have to do, but I would really like to not have to reinstall iTunes again or restore my iPod to factory mode, as when I made the switch from Windows to Mac, it was a huge pain.

The water damaged your iPod. It can take a little time for the damage to fully manifest itself
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4GS. They do not fix yours.

  • Video won't sync after update to 4.3

I have a 1st generation iPad, everything worked great on it prior to updating to iOS 4.3. Now, it will not sync any video - no TV, no Movies, not manually checked, not on Playlists. I have turned syncing movies/TV off, then synced, then turned movie/TV syncing on, and synced - no joy. I have reset the iPad, and done a full Restore - nothing. Video just won't sync.
I've got a Mac running the latest 10.6 and iTunes 10.2.1
    Anyone got any ideas? Thanks!

I believe I have the same issue as you. It seems that some of my videos will sync; while others will not. I'm not sure what it is about some of the video files that allows some of them to work and the others not. I used HandBrake to convert the videos to AppleTV format and this worked for me up til this recent iTunes/iOS software update.
I am on iTunes 10.2.1 and iOS 4.3 running on Mac OS X 10.6.6.

  • Won't sync after update 11.1.4

I can now get itunes to recognize my devices but they won't sync properly. There's no error messages. They simply don't do anything during the sync. I've tried restoring my iPod. Adding a playlist, the entire library and nothing works. Help? I'm running windows 8.1 btw.

I have the same problem.  Windows 8,1,  Itunes 11.1.4.  IPod Classic 160 GB.
If I connect the iPod to the USB port, iTunes simply hangs and becomes unresponsive.  I have to unplug the iPod and kill the iTunes process to reset things.
The iPod is very full.  I've tried deleting albums in iTunes to create breathing room for the sync.  But that doesn't help.
When they aren't connected, the iPod and iTunes each run fine, but syncing fails.
