Won't take incoming calls

When people call my verizon iPhone5, they immediately here two quickly oscillating tones.  I am not informed of any incoming calls, and no one gets to my voice mail.  What should I try?

  • My iPhone 4 won't take incoming calls. Everytime someone phones me it goes straight to voice mail. What's gone wrong?

For some reason my iPhone 4 won't take incoming calls and everytime someone phones me it goes straight to voicemail what's gone wrong??

Look at the AT&T VVM User Guide for help setting up your visual voice mail.
If you still have problems, contact AT&T Customer Service at 1-800-331-0500 and ask them to check that your account is provisioned for an iPhone 4.

  • My skype to go number does not take incoming calls

No matter what phone you call from (U.S. landline, various cell carriers, U.K.) you get a message "You have reached a non-working number.  Announcement: 14 Switch 1, 8 dash 3."
I have plenty of credit in my account, and can make outgoing calls. But neither my computer when signed in or my stand alone skype phone (IPEVO) when signed in take incoming calls.  Do I blame Microsoft?
Either way, it would be nice if someone could help me trouble shoot so we could receive calls again.

    Hello,
A SkypeToGo # is the # you call to set up STG calls to your contacts. It's not designed to receive inbound calls which is why you are receiving that message.
To receive inbound calls you require a Skype OnLine #.
TIME ZONE - US EASTERN. LOCATION - PHILADELPHIA, PA, USA.
I recommend that you always run the latest Skype version: Windows & Mac
If my advice helped to fix your issue please mark it as a solution to help others.
Please note that I generally don't respond to unsolicited Private Messages. Thank you.

  • N95 - Won't Recognise Incoming Calls

Just got the N95 so this might be finger problems or I might have missed a setting somewhere ....
When I get an incoming call it doesn't seem to tie it up with existing contacts. It simply shows the incoming number rather than contact name.
When I try to update the contact data using the incoming number I note that it's in national rather than international format i.e. not +44 etc. It looks as though it can't recognise that 014xxx is the same as +44 14xxx.
Is there any way to get the contact name appearing for an incoming call without having to change my entire contact book from international to national format? Is there some setting I've missed?

There are 4 main reasons why caller recognition fails:
    - duplicate phone numbers in contacts
Basically, the phone finds two (or more) possible contact names for the same number, doesn't know which to use, so sensibly opts for showing the number
Fixing this requires a laborious search through your contacts looking for duplicates. If you can't do this in Outlook or another PC tool, then you can use the latest version or the Search tool - just remember to search for PARTS of the number to get around formatting issues, ie: the fact that to the search facility 0208123456 is NOT the same as 0208 123 456.
    - using the international dialing code instead of +
eg: 00442081234567 (wrong) instead of +442081234567
    - brackets around 0 prefixes
If you synch with Outlook and add a country to the contacts address, Outlook changes your beautifully formatted number, +442081234567 into the absurd and un-usable +44 (0) 2081234567
    - spaces in numbers
There have been reports of some phones having problems with spaces in numbers with recent firmware upgrades - suddenly phones have stopped recognising +44 208 123 4567 and will only recognise +442081234567.

  • My iPhone 4s won't receive incoming calls or voicemails

Why won't my new iPhone 4s receive calls or voicemails?

Doubtful if anyone here can answer this question with any certainty.
Your new iPhone 4S is with ATT, Verizon, or Sprint?
Were you an existing subscriber with whichever carrier, or did you port a number from another carrier to a new carrier for your iPhone 4S?

  • Iphone 5: Incoming Calls won't go through.

    Hello everyone,
I purchased the Iphone 5 about 1-2 weeks ago and so far i love it. However as of recently i've been expeirencing a few issues where incoming calls won't go through.
I'll try my best to break it down:
    Someone calls me.
    Phone "rings" on their side.
    My iPhone doesn't ring.
I get no notification of a missed call, and maybe a few minutes later i'll be alerted to a missed call or a voicemail.
I've tested various things that i assume would cause the issue, but so far none of them seem to be the case.
I even went to Verizon (a few minutes ago actually) and they did a soft-reset (pretty much what i did prior) and soon as i got home i called the phone and nothing went through. I waited about a minute, called again, and then i rang. However seconds later i tried calling again, and it didn't ring.
Also it happens are random times. First insident was a few nights ago around 10 PM. Then again a few days ago around 3 PM and finally this morning around 8-8:30 AM.
No my "Do not disturb" isn't on.
I have good (if not great) connection.
At home the phone is always on WiFi
Yes i've tried turning off LTE.
Yes i've done a network reset.
Yes, phone is up to date.
One question i have is could it be only having this issue at my house? I have no way of testing if it only happens at my home (cause no one really has that kind of time to waste with me lol) so i'm not sure.

I want to ensure those important calls get through Huxable! I understand why you are concerned!
My first recommendation would be to make sure you are power cycling the device(turning off and on) at least once a day. This allows the device to refresh with the network and update the tower information on 4G handsets.
Second, it will definitely be valuable to test the device in different locations to determine whether it is a location issue versus an equipment issue. If this happens in multiple locations for example, it is likely device related.
If you find the issues occur mainly inside your home, the network extender accessory is an excellent option to boost indoor signal strength.

My iPhone 4s is stuck in AirPlay screen.  It won't shut off, software is current, it rings but the screen doesn't change so I can't take any calls. What do I do?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If you have problems restoring (if that is necessary) the iPhone
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPhone fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • S930 won't take calls

I have had this phone for a couple of weeks and began to wonder why I never hear it ring.
Well today it rang, I slid the screen where it said slide to answer and then the phone hung up and sent the caller a message.
I tried it by dialling from my home phone and it still does the same thing.i just says I am busy and can't take the call.
I can't remove any of these factory apps if they are causing the problem.I have contacted my mobile provider and all is fine on their end.
How do i stop this phone from doing this, it really is driving me crazy and with all the chinese characters I get alongside the English names I feel like throwing it.
    please help .
    eric

    Hi
You can try a factory reset BUT...
....I suggest flashing the ROW (rest of the World) international firmware.(Now you are running a custom/modified Chinese version)
This involves installing some drivers and a ''Flash tool'' on your PC...
THIS is the latest firmware version I could find(If there are new updates available...You can OTA update after)
Please install the phone DRIVERS and the Flash Tool Driver first.
If the Flash Tool driver won't auto install you'll have to manually install it.-->
-->see message 7of http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Lenovo-Phones/Lenove-S650-sound-issue/m-p/1413747#M3660 (Refers to a different model but the procedure is identical)
On Windows 8 you'll have to disable ''Digital driver signature verification''.It's safe, don't worry.
    installation:
    - Download and Unpack the firmware rar
    - Open FlashTool
    - select MT6582_Android_scatter in “target_bin” folder
    - Choose Option --> USB Mode, click USB Mode
    - Choose Option --> DA DownLoad All --> Speed --> High Speed --> click High Speed !
    - Check option “DA DL All With Check Sum” !
    - Turn off your phone, remove the battery.
    - Connect phone via USB
    - Click Firmware Upgrade
    - When a green circle appears, you can disconnect USB....First boot takes longer(It's normal).
Actually the procedure is simpler than it looks.
Make sure DA DL All with Checksum in marked !
Don't need to say that you're doing this at own risk...
Let me know how it goes.
