Won't turn on or charge

so I took my MacBook Pro(2011) with me to Europe the whole trip it was working perfectly fine, so a night or two ago I turned it off after using it, I left it charging but in the middle of the night took it out, the next morning I went to turn it on but it wouldnt turn on. at first I thought it was a power surge and it killed my computer but my moms iphone was also charging and nothing happened. then I thought it was because a couple weeks ago I spilt a little bit of orange juice, but soon remembered it was only on the keyboard. so I tried to charge it to see if it was dead but when I plugged it in the green/orange light didn't appear. and it was almost fully charged the night before. I left it to sit for the day and tried again at night it didn't turn on so I left it for the night and it still won't turn on. if anyone knows how to fix it, what to do or what could have happened please leave a comment. thank you

Follow the correct directions and try to execute a SMC reset.

If no success, an appointment at an Apple store for a FREE evaluation is the best option.
The orange juice may finally have done its nefarious work.
Ciao.

My Iphone 5 won't turn on or charge. I've tried 3 different chargers, a reset but still nothing. Any ideas or tips?

    Hi there Betty Boop 64,
I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps found in the article below.

Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIsand corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.

i turned my ipod off, and it won't turn back on. charging doesn't work and it won't be recognised by wi-fi or usb connections. how do i fix it?

Check your cable whether it is good. If it is use the wall plug to charge at least half an hour. See how it goes.

  • I just got my battery and iphone 4 screen fixed and when it turned off because there weren't any battery left, I tried charging it. Now it won't turn on or charge... what do i do?

I just got my battery and iphone 4 screen fixed and when it turned off because there weren't any battery left, I tried charging it. After charging it for like thirty minutes, I pressed the home & lock button and it turned on for a moment for me to see that it was only at 1%... So basically it wasn't charging for that entire half hour. Then, I tried connecting it to my computer and nothing is popping up... so it won't turn on or charge... what do i do?

Who repaired the phone? I suggest taking it back to this repair facility. Since Apple replaces phones instead of repair, the repair facility would be the one to take care of your problem.

  • Macobook pro won't turn on or charge

Ok, so I was surfing the web on my 3 month old macbook pro 2011 and it completly turned off while it had plenty of battery left. I only had it on for about an hour but it felt pretty hot. So my first thought was that the battery died, so I plug it it but it won't charge. I tried different outlets, the light on the charger it self is blinking pretty fast but it just won't turn on or charge at all.
I made an appointment with the genious bar for tomorrow, but I'm curious to know if anyone knows what could be the cause. I think it may have overheated, but I really do not use this laptop much.
Thanks in advance for your help.

I think it may have overheated, but I really do not use this laptop much.
There could be many reasons.  For one thing the MBP is NOT a laptop.  It is a notebook.   It should never be used on the lap nor should it's vents be blocked.  According to the user manual it states in part:
"Do not operate your MacBook Pro on a pillow or other soft material, as the material can block the airflow vents. Never place anything over the keyboard when operating your MacBook Pro. Never push objects into the ventilation openings."
MacBook Pro: Care, Use, and Safety Information
"Do not place your MacBook Pro on your lap or other body surface for extended periods of time. Prolonged body contact can cause discomfort and potentially a burn."

No that’s probably what I’ll do. I'm thinking the guys at the apple store can only do basic technical support since most of them are sales people that don't know how to physically repair phones. It seems kinda silly that, as fine as a product the iPhone is, when something like this happens they just tell you to replace the entire device without doing any proper diagnostic. If it was any other phone you could simply take it to a cell phone repair shop and they'll usually fix it. It’s almost as though Apple assumes their products will never fail so that when they do, the only solution is to replace the entire device at a cost higher then it would be if it was just a simple fix. So hopefully the local cell repair shop can do something instead of having to replace the entire phone. I'll accept the fact if I have to replace it after taking it to a few places and having some real technicians look at it, instead of a 5 minute trial and error diagnostic done by a sales associate at the apple store being quick to tell me that the phone is useless and has to be replace for several hundreds of dollars.

  • MacBook Pro won't turn on or charge or show battery indicator

Yesterday I plugged my phone into my MacBook Pro 13" using a knockoff USB cord (my charger), my phone wouldn't connect and then the screen on my MacBook just went black and it completely shut off. I tried pressing the power button to turn it on and nothing happened. I checked the battery indicator on the side and no lights came on (not even the blinking red one that tells you your macbook's dead or low battery). I plugged in my MacBook charger and it was green for a few seconds and then the light shut off. I unplugged the charger from the socket and then plugged it back into my MacBook and the light starting blinking a faint green and orange and it still would not turn on. I let it sit overnight without being plugged into the charger and today it won't connect to the charger at all and still won't turn on. Any ideas?

  • Droid Incredible 2 won't turn on or charge.

I have had this problem before, right after I got the DINC2. Yesterday, I wanted to take out my memory card to save pictures on my computer via a usb card reader. I turned my phone off by pressing the power button and selecting power off. I removed my battery, and then removed the memory card. After transferring my pictures, I placed the memory card back in the DINC2, and placed the battery and cover back on the device. I pushed the power button, and NOTHING. The phone won't turn on. I plugged it in to the charger, and the amber light won't even come on. I thought it might be the charger, so I used the USB cord attached to the computer, and still no charging light. I have removed the battery overnight, and just let it set. When I reinstalled the battery this morning, still nothing. The charging light does not come on, and I can't power up the device.
I had this problem before. I had let the battery run down to nothing and the device powered itself off. Same scenario, the charge light would not come on when plugged into the charger, and I couldn't power up the device. I left the battery out overnight, and the next morning the device still wouldn't power on. I placed the phone in my car, and plugged in my car charger. After a few minutes, the amber light came on, and I was able to power up the device. This, however, did not work this time. Nothing I try helps.
Is this a common problem? How should I go about getting this resolved?
      Thanks,
      Brian

    Hi Brian,
It must be frustrating not being able to power your phone on. I checked my resources and this is not noted as a known issue with the Droid Incredible 2. Since you are not able to power on the phone, there is nothing we can troubleshoot by phone. I recommend to bring your device to a Verizon Wireless store for a hands on evaluation. You can find a Verizon Wireless store near you by entering your ZIP code at vzw.com/storelocator online.

  • Help needed: blackberry keeps resetting or won't turn on after charging, especially via USB

This is a bit of an odd one and I'd appreciate any help that others can give me.
I've had my blackberry 8900 for about a year and a half now.
Whenever I charge my handset from an empty battery (e.g. this problem isn't a problem when I charge it if there's still some charge left) - either from the main power charger or via USB, I experience problems.
Whenever it's fully charged I unplug the charger and normally at this point it cuts out completely. The screen goes black and cuts out - it doesn't even go through the normal switch-off process. From then, it won't turn on for around 3 - 4 minutes (the red light occasionally appears on the top, although it's fully charged).
When it does turn on, it goes through a soft reset.
This is more of a problem when I charge it via USB but equally affects charging it from the mains as well.
    Any ideas?

It's fixable. First, charge it for several hours and then WITH the
charger still connected, remove the battery a minute and replace, and
    reboot.
If that does not do it, and it continues in the reboot loop
    1)
Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2)
On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line
exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program
    files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3)
The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In
the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN".
    Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of
applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and
Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to
life. Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish
    completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications
mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop
Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that
you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service
provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's
Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
    Just
select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry
model from the list and download the latest version. Install this
download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right
    path.

  • 13" Macbook Pro won't turn on or charge

I have a 2011 macbook pro (13") which shut down while I was watching a movie last night. I connected it to the charger this morning and it restarted but the LED on the magsafe charger is green and it said "Not charging" next to the battery icon on the screen. It died after 2-3 minutes of use and won't turn on since then. I am really not sure why this is happening. I have checked that the charger works with another MBP so its not a problem with the charger. When I press the button to check the battery charge the first light flashes for 4-5 seconds. I tried resetting the SMC by following the steps mentioned on here but it still won't restart. Does anyone know what I can do about this problem? I would bring it in to the Apple store but I am travelling and need the computer for work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
