Wondering Why your posts have been deleted?

Some users here have been posting things that are against the Terms of Use of these forums. This is one explanation of the removal, PLEASE stop posting threads that you know are against the Terms of Use:
Sometimes users posts are removed by the discussion moderators for various reasons. These reasons may include the following:
Apple Discussions is intended to address technical issues. Discussions of Apple policies and procedures, speculations about future Apple decisions, questions about unreleased products, and issues with repair procedures are not appropriate. Posts that are not directly related to a technical support issue, are only complaints, or contain abusive language are not appropriate. Posts which are not appropriate will be removed from Apple Discussions.
Posts containing take-apart questions not covered in the User Manual will not be addressed by Apple due to safety and legal concerns.

Where do you backup your contacts?
If to iCloud, is there another device sharing your Apple iCloud ID? If there is, anything done to contacts by the other device will be synced to your iPhone contacts.  The same is true of anything done to contacts by a computer on icloud.com.  Go to icloud.com and check to see if your contacts are still there.
If you back them up  to a computer through iTunes, then you can recover your contacts by re-syncing them from your computer to your iPhone.

    About Safari 4 (that I have installed and uninstalled - see my other recent post), as you suggest, it may well be the case that all my posts were erased when I installed it. I can't confirm this, but the coincidence is revealing.
    This is puzzling for me that Safari would cause all this, but then I'm no expert in that matter.
    And also, you make me think of it. A few months ago, when I updated Safari (I can't remember from which version to which version), I couldn't login to Apple Discussions anymore with Safari. At the time, strangely, I succeeded login only through using Firefox. And, in fact, one of my last posts concerned that issue. Eventually, for some reasons, things came back to normal and I could login to Apple Discussions with Safari 3.2.1.

    It seems that for some reason my posts from yesterday have been removed. I can't imagine why that would happen, I didn't breach any code of conduct, and my topics were inline with the general theme of the forums.

    This morning all my contacts had been deleted from my iPhone why did that happen and how can I get my contacts back on my phone.

    There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 9 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
    - What version of iPhoto.
    - What version of the Operating System.
    - Details. Describe the problem as fully as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
    - History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
    - What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
    - Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?
    Anything else you can think of that might help someone understand the problem you have.

    I have searched to forum for similar issues, but none seem to apply to the errors I get in the CDS log.
    When try-ing to view the Orgchart, in the Orgchart Console I get the following message "Cannot find the root of your orgchart. The orgchart box may have been deleted or incorrectly specified."
    This is the entry in the CDS log.

    Hi Spike,
    There could be a number of reasons why the PositionEmpHierarchy table has not been created. My advice is to run an extract and then run each line of your join statements in your DB. This will highlight where the problem lies.

    It might be caused by storage "buffering".  If so, the space will adjust automatically when another iCloud feature uses the space previously allocated to your deleted email.  See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4873.

    There are dozens of entries regarding "

    contains a list that does not exist. It may have been deleted by another user" and none of them are really SP 2013 so i thought I would create this entry. 
    I am getting the error above after creating a simple list with 4 columns.  the list is created during a new site definition activation but when I click on my list, I get the error above.  the list works if I deactivate the feature and re-activate
    it.  but has the error whenever the new site definition is created.  
    Has anybody encountered this issue on SP 2013?

  • No item exists at ... It may have been deleted or renamed by another user for new items, but older items work?

    I created a webpart page and added an SPD listformwebpart in display mode for a particular list.
    All day yerterday I called the page and passed it the ?ID= query string and it worked great. It still works great for the items I had created.
    This morning I added a workflow where I email the URL to the page with the ID dynamically on it. Any items I added today give me the error:
    No item exists at ... It may have been deleted or renamed by another user
    All items from yesterday work fine on that page with the exact url... ????
    I was demoing the solution and was completely at a loss to explain this.
    I checked and there is no Item security. I can pull up the suspect items using the native list Display page. I show up as the creator and last modifier My workflow is NOT making any changes to the list .. only sending a url to my page.
    Same URL with only the ID different..Some items work.. some don't.. Any explanation for this?
    UPDATE: I CREATED A BRAND NEW PAGE WITH NO CODE. JUST THE LISTFORMWEBPART AND THE PROBLEM PERSIST.

    Not sure if you've seen it already, but here's a step by step guide from Microsoft's help site on creating a custom form.

    The location of the custom form is really irrelevant. As I said, you don't apply security to the forms. They're applied to the list/library level or at the individual items.
    Also, SharePoint 2007 doesn't have column/field level security. Even if you customize your form or use javascript to make certain fields not-editable, it doesn't necessarily mean that's secured. Someone experienced with SharePoint can easily get around it.
    Depending on your user base or sensitivity of your data, making individual fields not-editable may not be a big deal.
    Anyways, take a look at the following article from Laura Rogers. This is one way you can make the form so that only certain fileds are editable.

    Right click the folder and select Properties. Then Repair Folder.

    my contacts have been deleted automatically how can I recover them? I have finished restoring my backup files from my itunes then seconds pass my contacts will be automatically deleted.

    Dont bother posting to this one. I have checked plenty of other posts and there are millions of them. The basic problem is that apple don't seem to understand the meaning of sync. Sync usually means the meshing of two databases so that they match, instead this band of half witted, jean wearing, morons decided that the software should basically default to deleting one database and replacing it with another.
    In every other post the answer always given is gee why didn't you have a back up, that's why I was trying to sync in the first place you dim witted moron.
    ITunes *** the big one and is obviously there solely to lock people in and sell, sell, sell! This seems to be the apple mantra.

    You posted this in the BlackBerry space, so I am assuming you have a BlackBerry of some sort... if you've used desktop manager or BB Protect or another backup application, then you can retrieve contacts from the most recent backup.
    Otherwise, you may be out of luck, unless their information is in your recent call list, or recent texts.
    I use BB Protect to make automatic backups of my data each week, (with no interaction needed by me, it just happens) so if something goes crazy, I have, at most, a week's worth of new stuff to enter.  BB Desktop manager also makes backups, manually - you need to connect the phone to your computer via USB and make a backup, or restore from a backup.

    It sounds like you may need to reload your device software.
    Be sure to back up your device prior to the reload as all data will be wiped clean.
