I can use the onboard video card just fine.
I have a secondary power supply(Juicebox) that I have installed specifically to power the video card. So it's not a lack of power to the video card.
I have updated my Bios to:

and also Live Update shows H.50 as the MB BIOS version
Any ideas?

From New Egg:
Minimum of a 450 Watt power supply. (Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 24 Amps.)
Your new Power supply: dual rail 18a
Perhaps you need to find a single rail psu? There are 2 psu's available for the xps a 750 and a 1k watt both have 12 v single rail as best i can tell.
Here is EVGA's tech support: I would contact them and go over you psu specs to verify.
Well I am not too proud to admit when I am wrong...
The PSU was the issue (as is the common issue with just about everyone that comes to this forum)
I purchased a Coolermaster 500W Single Rail PSU and it worked perfectly as soon as I plugged it in.
The Juice box I was using above was a 350W single rail but just wasn't enough even if it was dedicated solely to the Video Card.
Thanks all for your help - I truly appreciate the time you took to point me in the right direction.
Pro-Tip to the new guys looking at this - Single Rail vs Dual Rail makes a HUGE Difference. Check your power ratings with the MFG of your Video card.

P6-2133W not recognizing EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti video card
Hello,
I currently have a stock HP P6-2133W desktop, and I wanted to update the graphics. I purchased an EVGA GeForce GTX 750ti video card ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814487025 ), but I could never get video to display through the card.
I disabled the onboard video through Windows Device Manager, but I couldn't find any setting in BIOS to explicitly use PCIE instead of the integrated video, and EVGA's driver installation utility reports that it could not detect a compatible device. The fan on the card spins, so it seems to be properly installed, and I tried re-seating it into the PCIE slot several times over the course of my troubleshooting.
Through all of my digging around online, I found a few mentions of UEFI BIOS. Unfortunately, I'm at work, so my computer is not handy at the moment, but I do remember that my motherboard was AAHD3-HB, and I had v. 7.16 of its BIOS (AMI, I think?), and the HP utilities did not indicate that there were any sort of updates available.
I'm not very familiar with UEFI, so, I guess my main questions are: is my BIOS incompatible with this particular video card? If so, is there a way to install a UEFI BIOS on my motherboard that would support this card?
I liked the idea of the 750TI, because it seemed to offer pretty decent performance without requiring a new Power Supply, so if this card is simply incompatible with my computer, then do you know of a comparable card that would work for my computer?
I appreciate any and all help with this.Hello @BCAstronaut,
I understand that you are having issues getting your HP Pavilion p6-2133w Desktop PC to recognise your new EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti Graphics Card. I believe the reason you are experiencing this issue is the the break in the downward compatibility on the PCIe slots was broken at around the Gen 2.1 mark and you are trying to put a Gen 3.0 card in a Gen 1.0 slot. This in essence makes your computer incompatible with the graphics card you have chosen to use. I am providing you an article on the overclock.net website titled The final answer to the controversial PCIe x16 version compatibility., where the author explains what I described and goes into how he made the determination. I would advise you review the article if you have any questions concerning the issue you are facing.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

Z77A-GD65 issues with Geforce GTX 780 Video Card
Hey Guys,
I have a issue with a new PC build.
I think it may be a driver or BIOS setting issue, I hope
I bought a MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard and below are the specs:
- Intel Core i7-2600 CPU 3.4 Ghz
- BIOS Version E4451IMS V10.8
- Balistix Sport 8GB sticks (Total of 24 GB memory installed)
- Kentek 875w power supply
- Geforce GTX 780 Graphics Card
My problem is with the Geforce GTX 780 video card, I installed a fresh install of Windows 7 64 bit and
everything runs and works fine, but when i install the Geforce GTX 780 video card and install the
drivers its all good up to this point but when i restart the computer i get this message in the device
manager ""Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (code 43)"
I have installed different versions of the driver, a few older and few newer versions with the same
outcome.
I tried to flash the BIOS to the latest version 10.11 but had problems with it picking up my harddrive
after it flashed successfully. I even checked the boot up setting and it all looked good just would not
boot up, so i had to revert back to the v10.8 BIOS version for it to work.
I'm not sure if there is a setting in the BIOS that i need to turn on or off. I'm not familar with this BIOS,
is there a place in it so i can see if the BIOS is picking up the video card, it has to or Windows would
not see it right?
I'm stumped here, do you guys know of a Geforce driver version that works well with this video card?
I truely think the card is fine because when i install the card to the motherboard i dont get any weird
issues until the driver is installed and Windows is restarted.
I would greatly appreciate any help and advise that you guys can give me.
Thanks alotUPDATE
Well i wanted to post an update on my new build issue.
Here are my specs:
I bought a MSI Z77A-GD65 motherboard with BIOS v10.8
- Intel Core i7-2600 CPU 3.4 Ghz
- BIOS Version E4451IMS V10.8 (i had a issue with the newest BIOS flash v10.11 it wouldn't detect the harddrive, could figure that one out so i went back to v10.8)
- Balistix Sport 8GB sticks (Total of 32 GB memory installed) I first had 3 sticks so i got another 8GB stick to fill all 4 banks for total of 32 GB
- Corsair Professional Series 860 Watt Digital ATX/EPS Modular 80 PLUS Platinum Power Supply AX860i (Bought this PS to replace the Kentek PS)
- N780 TF 3GD5/OC (GeForce GTX 780 GAMING) (traded Geforce GTX 780 card for the MSI version of the GTX 780 card)
OK... I got the new Corsair 860w power supply installed and i installed the new MSI GTX 780 video card with the specs above everything installed fine no problems and my son was playing the Bio Shock Infinite game on Steam and about 1 hour into the game he got a blue screen of death, says something like "to prevent damage windows is now resetting" and it turns off so fast can't read the rest of the message.
I'm going to here in a little bit and update all device drivers with MSI Live update utility and also update the motherboard BIOS again to v10.11.
I'm really confused here, I'm also going to take out some memory and try to run it with sticks only in slot 2 & 4 to see if it runs more stable like that, also should i update the video card to the latest driver, i know the latest is not always the greatest driver.
I want to think you guys again for your help & time with this issue. I really dont know what else to do here, everything is new in this PC.

P7-1254 doesn't detect sapphire 7770 GHz video card
I have a P7-1254. I have upgraded the processor to an A8-3870k and added a Sapphire Radeon HD7770 GHz video card. Also added a 700w power supply. The video card worked for about a week. Then the power supply failed and I used the old supply and onboard video until I received the replacement power supply. When everything was re-installed, the video card is no longer detected. The card is well seated, and getting power, but video only works through on-board now.
The BIOS on this model is extremely limited, there are no selections to control on-board video.
I swapped the card with a GTX card from another machine. The GTX card is detected and works fine. The Sapphire card is detected and works fine in the other machine. When I put it back in the HP machine, not detected.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks. Here is also the page for the specs.... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03135882#N216

GTX 650 Video Card Incompatible with h8-1420t?
I took delivery of an Envy h8-1420t a few weeks ago. It came with a Radeon HD 7670 graphics card. I would like to add a bit more horsepower in the graphics processing department, andI upgraded to a 575w Thermaltake Toughpower XT power supply accordingly. My new video card is an MSI GTX 650 (http://us.msi.com/product/vga/N650-MD1GD5-OC.html), and on paper is compatible with both the power supply and HP Formosa motherboard.
Unfortunately, the card refuses to output video when I install it. I have verified that the card is working. Any ideas as to what the issue could be? I'm guessing it's some sort of motherboard incompatibility, but am wondering if anyone else has had similiar issues. The GTX 660 is optional equipment when ordering this rig, and if that works I don't see why this wouldn't.Is this the monitor?
I take it both ends of the cable look like this.
I apologize ahead of time for asking this, but I want to verify the basics.
Was the 4-pin power connector on the motherboard connected to the power supply? It is located above the PCIe slot and next to the processor slot. This is to power the processor, so no video would be available if this was not connected.
Honestly, the symptoms aren't lining up. I know the PC is not at fault as there are no restrictions in place.
Both DVI ports (monitor and new video card) appear to be DVI-D, so analog/digital is not very likely.
I take it the cable is known to be good as it worked with the stock video card.
Are there any beep codes? You probably would have mentioned this had you heard any, but I want to be certain.

H8-1280t and GTX 780 Video Card installation issue.
I hope someone can give me good news with this issue as I am at the end of my rope.
I recently purchased an EVGA GTX 780 SC video card which I am attempting to install into my h8-1280t Elite HP Desktop.
I have switched out the stock Power Supply that originally came with the unit and installed one that can support the necessary power requirements of the card (750W with 61A on 12V rail [Corsair ATX 750).
This is actually the second card that I have tried and they both have the same issue. The issue is as follows: When the unit is powered on I can see the POST message which shows my processor, memory amount, and BIOS Revision date and version. The unit will then proceed to beep once every 10 seconds, there will be a total of 3 beeps and the unit proceeds to a black screen where nothing happens. I know the card is not bad as it displays the POST message just fine.
I have since contacted EVGA the manufacturer of the card and they have stated that this issue has something to do with UEFI BIOS. Their card has shipped with the most recently updated UEFI BIOS located in the GTX 780, I was referred to try and ask here if there is an update to my current motherboard to bring it upto date with the latest revision of UEFI. I have also since tried both BIOS updates on my model page the lastest having a revision date of 9-12-2012. I would hate to think that my unit is incompatible being that I only bought it last year. I have noticed that in my BIOS settings there is very limited UEFI boot options. so that gives me some hope.
The following is the information about my unit to the closes detail I have found:
Motherboard: IPIWB-PB (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&docname=c03132964)
BIOS: 7.15 Rev. A (09-12-2012)
Processor: Intel i7 3820 3.6ghz
Desktop: h8-1280t (http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=4063&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw_lang=&product=5155...)
Power Supply: Corsair ATX 750w
Memory: Corsair 16gb Vengeance
Hard Drive and CD drive are stock.
I believe the issue lies with an outdated BIOS and hopefully HP is providing BIOS updates.
Once again any help would be greatly appreciated!Hi,
Have you made sure that your P6 and P8 connectors are connected properly to the video card?
If you have, and your power supply is capable of running this card, then it is possibly not compatible with this motherboard. For the greatest chance of compatibility, since your motherboard has PCIe generation 2 slot you would want to look for a video card that uses PCIe generation 2.0. While 3.0 should be backwards compatible; it is not always the case.
Thank you.

Photoshop (CS6 64Bit) wont detect GPU (GTX 590)
This just recently started happening, before it was fine. But now when I go to enable OpenGL, it says it doesn't detect my card (GTX 590). The drivers are updated as well. Is there a way to force photoshop to use OpenGL?
A driver update? If windows, then check the driver's date in device manager.
301.42 was released on 22nd May, which sounds recent to me.
I am using a GTX570 but with a much earlier driver, and I have issues that I am aware of.

Lenovo b50-45 won't detect my r5 m230 video card
Hello everyone....I have a problem with my laptop...I just bought it few weeks ago and it can't detect my r5 graphic card. I downloaded all drivers from lenovo official site but..it still won't work...I'm running windows 7 64 bit.
When I opened device manager->display adapters, I can see just this (see picture below)
http://i.imgur.com/YDAr9amh.png
Also I did check the bios setings and it's set as switchable graphic...Can anyone help me with that?
Thank you.
Solved!
Go to Solution. If you specifically ordered a B50-45 with an AMD Radeon R5 M230 then yes, you will need to contact the place of purchase (if it's still possible to get a replacement unit) as you definitely received a different model.

Photoshop cs5-no video card detected in GPU settings
Running photoshop cs5 on a new iMac 27in with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M video card. Under performance preferences GPU settings is not detecting the card. What do i need to fix??
Same issue here.
Running the same system here with the Geforce GTX 775m. Currently running OS 10.9.5. Photoshop CC 2014 shows no GPU detected under Preferences and all video card related options are disabled. I've tried installing nVidia's web driver, but it's not compatible, unfortunately. The 10.9.5 update hasn't helped either and I haven't found any further driver update from Apple.
Is there a way to force detection or manually specify video card specs?

Open Gl Issue with Nvidia GTX 460 & Photoshop cs5
open gl has become disabled and preferences window doesn't show the detected video. card cache level is set to 4. help>system info still shows the card and drivers but I can't use any of the open gl features. I have already downloaded installed the latest drivers so Im not so sure that that would be the problem.
I know my graphics card supports it because I was using the rotate tool on this same document yesterday. How ever when i started it up today It no longer worked. I haven't installed anything since I used the rotate tool last (except for the latest drivers for my nvideo geforce gtx 460 gfx card, how ever this was an attempt to fix the problem)
I tried running the 64 bit verision of Ps but the results were the same.
My system is running
windows 7 64 bit
Intel core 2 duo 3.0 Ghz (dual core processor)
8 GB ddr2 ram
Nvidia GeForce GTX 460
(with 2 identical moniters connected via dvi)
Adobe Creative Suite CS5 Design Premium
Wacom Bamboo pen and touch w/ matching drivers
Belkin N52TE gaming pad with photoshop short cuts mapped to it.
Im not sure what else I can list that might be related
I made no system changes since the last time i ran photoshop.
I unplugged the wacom tablet for 5 minutes last night in order to install the drivers on another computer and when it was done i moved it back (Im fairly sure this couldn't have caused it but better to give all the info i guess...)
I would greatly apreciate any help you might be able to offer.some one i know suggested that I try an older driver in case it was a bug with the latest one. I did so and once again It worked untill i closed photoshop. I closed and reopened the program to test it and sure enough when i reopened it all open gl functionality was gone once again. I don't believe nvidia drivers are the problem because i have tried 3 different version with the same results. each one works untill i close photoshop and the second time i open photoshop it quits working.
do any of you at adobe have any idea what might be causing this?
