Wont install update now

updated to 8 a few weeks back on my IPad 2, and since then its been awful.  I have a new update to install in settings, but when I click on 'agree' to the conditions, it does nothing.  Why?? I am hoping that it will fix this **** problem on my ipad, as i cannot afford to buy a new one to replace it.
how do I get the new 'update' to work????

Hi The Reson why it's stuck is not enough space on iPad for download Delete some Apps & photos you can get them back after update from the cloud You need 5G of space you get this space back after download when old iOS is Deleted Make the space and try again. Cheers Brian

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like there may be an issue with iPad not responding or starting up normally since updating iOS, if that’s the case, try the troubleshooting suggestions in the article linked below.

  • Itunes wont install update to 7.4.3

    hello
I am a vista user and i recently tried to install the update for itunes to 7.4.3, my girlfriend got the new ipod nano and she uses my computer to get her music. when i tried to install though it got through close to the very end and then an error message pops up and tells me
    {an error occured while attempting to create the directory: C:/Users/User/AppData}
it then gives me an option to "retry" or "cancel". retry does nothing the message just continually pops up and when cancelled the install stops and undoes all file writing.
the problem has become even more extensive since in my naivete i uninstalled itunes and quicktime altogether and attempted to reinstall instead of just updating (quiktime has the same error) and with my luck the still dont install and now i dont have itunes and cannot put music onto my iPod.
the only thing i can think is the fact that the directory it is attempting to create is a hidden folder that already exists so it shouldnt be trying to create it... does anyone have a solution or has had the same problem with the new itunes update?

How did you solve this error??
    i have the same problem

  • Installed updates, now coputer won't start

I clicked on install updates and then it wanted me to reboot, so I clicked on reboot.  Now my computer will not start, a blue screen came up and it said " that a problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer".  I turned the computer off for about 4 timesa and this message still comes up.
What is the problem and how can I fix this problem?

First, try safe mode and setup check disk in the command prompt.  (Start - Run - type in "cmd" - type "chkdsk /F /R /B" and hit enter, say yes and restart the computer.  Check disk will run and hopefully you can boot into Windows again.
Next, try using safe mode and uninstalling updates listed under Control Panel - Programs and Features - View Installed Updates - and remove one update at a time (starting with the latest); restart the computer and try to load Windows normally until you find the update that caused the problem.

  • I installed updates now I can't get on the internet, why?

I installed updates (itunes 10.5, Safari 5.1.1 and Security update 2011-006  1.0) now I can't get on the internet, Why???

Well if it doesn't see the network in the WiFi drop down... then we got problems. Move it closer to the router...

  • Recently installed updates - now iMac completely freezes up randomly

I recently installed a bunch of updates, including the 10.5.6 combo update (I think I was on 10.5.4 before then), RAW, QT, iTunes, iLife '08, iWork '08 updates, etc. I've been running skype, ichat, itunes, mail, safari, and occasionally pages in the background. I'm not doing anything crazy - I might have one or 2 docs pulled up in pages and 1 several page spreadsheet pulled up in Numbers. Randomly now my computer has completely locked up for no clear reason -- the mouse cursor disappears and the mouse and keyboard illicit no responses on screen despite all the apps still being up (even trying to force quit doesn't work as the key combo doesn't even bring up any menus). The computer just completely freezes and becomes on responsive. I've had to restart my computer using the power button both times now.
After the updates both disk utility and Onyx gave my system a clean bill of health. However, I did have issues installing the Quicktime and iTunes 8.1 updates -- Software update kept saying the installers were moved to the trash and thus couldn't open them even though that hadn't been dragged to the trash. I had to manually open both installers and run each of the packages separately.
I'm on a iMac 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo with 4GB or RAM - it's gen prior to the latest just released by Apple.
Has anyone had this issue? I think it might be related to Numbers, but I'm really not sure. ...I should have never updated.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you Repair Disk Permissions before and after installation of updates?
When you install updates do you leave the Mac alone to install the updates or are you multitasking and the updates are in the background?
Have you reset the NVRAM? Restart and press and hold CommandOption+PR until you hear a second startup chime, then release.
Forced shut downs are damaging to the directory. It is a good idea to boot from the Install DVD and use Disk Utility in the Utilities menu of the Installer to Repair Disk.

  • IPhone wont install update 8.1.1

I have an iPhone 5s, when I go into settings-general-software update and select install updates, then agree to the terms and conditions nothing happens. I can't even go back to the main settings page. The phone does not install the update. If I press the home button I can go back to the main screen and can use the phone as normal. But if I go back into settings it just takes me back to the frozen Agree to iTunes terms and condition page. I have to restart the phone to get it out of that so I can access the other options in settings. And it won't install the 8.1.1 update. Any one having similar issues? There is enough storage space on the phone and no other issues that I am aware of. Any help/advice would be appreciated!

  • The phone wont install update

I have tried soft and hardreset but it wont reset my phone....i have downloaded preveiw for developers update and now the update is not installing...it only shows 2 gears rotatating for past 7 hours with no progress

If this also doesn't help, try Nokia Software Recovery Tool. Note that you will lose all the data and need to re-setup the phone from start ...Failing this too, you need to visit Nokia Care.

  • How do I UNINSTALL my CS4(Vista) from my WIN 8 NEW PC? It wont INSTALL, and NOW wants me to PAY TO UPGRADE to UNINSTALL.

I purchased CS4 back when. And I never had any problems running it on my laptop (Vista). I finally used up all my 250gb hard drive and my husband just bought me a new WIN 8 desktop. I tried INSTALLING using my CD but WIN 8 wouldnt allow me to install. Adobe said I had to PAY TO UPGRADE so that I could finish INSTALLING. Well NOW since I am unable to do so, I tried going to the CONTROL PANEL and UNINSTALLING. But Adobe REFUSES to UNINSTALL since I do not have the UPGRADE version to allow to do so.
SO NOW.............I am unable to INSTALL my iCloud program or any other program because my WIN 8 is "currently installing Adobe" and refuses to allow me install another program or Uninstall Adobe.

  • Itunes wont install/update

I have tried three times to update itunes to the lates version, all three times it crashes my computer.
So I deleted itunes and tried to insatll it from scratch, again it crashed my computer.
I downloads just fine, then gets to install and just sits there, while that is happening I lose
the control of my mouse, it wont move and the left and right click wont work.
I am using windows XP service back 3, this is the first time this has happened while I tried to update.
I use AVG anti-virus so i tured its active protection off, but still nothing.
I'm not sure what else to try.

hmmmm. that's not the classic error message i expect in this context. but we'd better still check on the x64/Windows-Update-KB908531/QT issue. for some more information on troubleshooting that one see the following thread:

  • Installed updates--now Airport Card vanished

    Greetings,
I have the most recent 21.5" iMac (3.2 GHz) with the most recent OS installed.
Last night, I installed three updates: iTunes 10, Snow Leopard Graphics Update 1.0, and Security Update 2010-005 1.0. I restarted the computer.
This morning, I went to get online and my Airport was gone. It said "Airport Card Not Installed." This is odd because it's worked fine since January.
I went to Networking, and Airport was off. When I clicked "Turn Airport On" nothing happened.
I tried holding shift and restarting, restarting again, and shutting down. It's dead. My Windows laptop gets internet without a problem.
Some forums have recommended holding P and R while restarting. What is that? Other ideas as to what has occurred?
    Thanks!

I recently bought and installed iLife '11 and since then (few weeks ago) I have had intermittent issues with the airport card not working and a message saying 'airport not installed' showing. I mention iLife '11 as it is the only significant change to my system since I bought the iMac. Until now I have never experienced any issues with airport cards on this or a long serving previous iMac. The point is nothing I have done (I've hunted out many discussion threads on this and other forums) has made a blind bit of difference (gone through all of the things so far suggested here - nothing worked). The only solution has been to switch off and try again the next day. So far that has worked but I would rather know why this happens and how to stop it then just be at the mercy of a random error / bug. Anyone else had random failures of airport cards? I have grown to expect Apple equipment to be reliable... having re-evaluate that of late!
I have a late '09 iMac with the latest OS updates installed. Linked to a secure wireless network, shared with a Dell PC (also wireless).

  • Installed Update, Now Can't View My Own GalleryI'm

    Hi All~
    I'm stumped...
I'm working on my website, which includes a Flash photo gallery that I created in Photoshop CS3.  All was working fine a few hours ago.  I could view the gallery from the local folder on my MacBook, could also view it online.
Was surfing for some gallery options and got the "Update Your Flash Player" link...  So I did.  (Up to 10.0.22.??? -- it's the latest version, I triple-checked...)
Now when I go to my own website, I can't view the Flash gallery (same is true from the local folder on my computer).   If I open the page, all I get is two links:
    "Upgrade Your Flash Player"
"Click here if you have Flash Player 6 installed"
If I click #2, the gallery works (locally and online).
I tried deleting the plugin from my "Library" and re-installing.  No help.
Tried simply re-installing about 5 times.  No help.
    Thoughts???
(Using a MacBook Pro, OS 10.5, Safari and Firefox -- same prob with both)
    Thanks!

I installed Dropbox and it seemed to convert my photo for it's use.  Now when I try to view my photos on iPhoto it won't work.
    This is what happens;
You might see this message in iPhoto: "To open your library with this version of iPhoto, it first needs to be prepared." If you do, you can use the iPhoto Library Upgrader tool to prepare your library to work with the current version of iPhoto.
I used the Upgrader toll to prepare my library but it still doesn't work!

  • Smart file examiner wont install updates for office on my macbook air. i click step two for show info then nothing happens

I just got my my macbook air and I am still learning how to use it. I just put Office 2011 on it and there was an update for it after i installed it. I did the update and it downloaded it but then instead of installing Smart File Examiner opens and step 1 sleect file and this is were is went /Users/user/Library/Caches/TemporaryItems/3114AutoUpdate Installer.mpkg. Then it says information gathered successfully. step 2 click show information button. so I do and and the info on it opens in a new page, but it does not do anything else. So how do i finsh installing the update?

Downloading as we speak, and the first explanation that comes to mind is that both files have a .rar extension, and that since OS X doesn't support this archive format, you need to install a third-party utility to open them.
One files tool to open .rar files is The Unarchiver (here), and another is Stuffit Expander (there). 7zip also proposes a Mac version (here). All three will decompress a .rar file, and let you access the .dmg file(s) inside.
Also, depending on the browser you're using, and provided you might be inclined to open trusted files directly (I use Opera, and seldom save safe download; I click on "Open" in the download dialogue), your files could very well open... in the browser cache folder, out of sight. But if you use Safari, Chrome or Firefox, and you don't have any utility installed to handle .rar files, that's doubtful. I'm going to open your files now, and check if I can install them.
    Stay tuned!
Edit: decompressing the first file using The Unarchiver shows that the archive is "incomplete". Which leads me to think that you might have to concatenate the two files to make one "complete" .dmg file.
If so, once they are decompressed, open a Terminal (in Applications/Utility), then type "cat", and drag both files in the window, one after the other (preferably in the right order...), type a space, then give the final file any name you want, followed by the .dmg file extension:
    (e.g.:) "cat /Users/Your_Name/Desktop/File1.dmg /Users/Your_Name/File2.dmg /Users/Your_Name/Desktop/FinalFile.dmg"

  • Installed updates, now "No available groups" on Wiki

I just installed Safari 3.1, Security Update 2008-002 and Airport Utility 5.3.1 on our Standard Setup of Mac OS X Server 10.5.2 and also ran Disk Permissions repair.
Now when I try to view our Wiki I get this message: "No available groups."
I've tried restarting the Wiki Server to no avail. Any ideas?

It would be great if this worked. I tried it both ways. Throwing away index.db does in fact then restarting creates the file but nothing in it. Changing the configuration <key>rebuildIndex</key>
<true /> and then restarting gets into a loop with the following results. Modifying the wiki page then saving creates and index that looks right to me but I have over 250 pages to do so that would be tedious.

  • HT1338 After reloading OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard iMac wont install updates

iMac wont update after reinstalling OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard

If I recall correctly the gray bar could indicate that a firmware update is installing, or that the system is checking the hard drive.
I've run out of suggestion since without the Install DVD's we can't boot the system to run Disk Utility in order to verify the hard drive. It might be a good idea to give Apple a call to see if they can help you get a set of replacement install discs.
The other option is to find another working Mac and connect the two systems via a compatible Firewire cable. Once connected turn on your iMac with the issue and hold down the 't' key in order to place the iMac into the Target Disk Mode. This should allow your other Mac system to mount your iMac's hard drive as an external volume. If nothing else it would allow you to backup your important files.
