Wont play some shared songs

Ipad2 wont play some shared songs,   I have an album that i can play shared with all my other devices, but when i try to play this album on my ipad2 it skips over the fist 3 songs and starts playing on the 4th,
The first 3 songs play fine everywhere else

I am also experiencing this problem with my new iPod Touch, and I have followed the steps at http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1510 to no avail. Does anyone have a recommendation that will fix this? I am beginning to believe it is a defect in the iPod software and that it needs to be addressed in a new release.

I recently purchased songs from my iphone.  All good...  But I then went to put them on my ipod touch.  They seemed to have downloaded but the songs wont play and the song title/the text, appears in a grey colour and there is a downlaod symbol in front of the song title.  what do i do next??  They play on my iphone and from the itunes library but not from my ipod touch.

If the songs are still on your ipod, make sure autosync is disabled in iTunes on your computer, connect and right click on it in the device list, then choose "transfer purchases" to copy all bought media and apps from your ipod to your computer.
If the songs are not on your computer and got deleted from your ipod as well, you can't get them back, unless you have a backup of your iTunes library as part of your computer backup.

  • Itunes wont play some of my songs...and it used to!

I had to reinstall windows ... as i have done several times in the past.. and when i added my music folder, which is on an external HD, over 500 songs wont add to the library. they will play in QT and WMP but not in itunes. when clicked itunes will open but then nothing...doesnt even show the song in the list.
Here is an example of a song that will not play, show up, or anything:
    21 guns - Greenday
    mp3 audio
    8.66 MB
    Protected - NO
    Duration - 0:06:12
    bit rate - 224kbps
    channels - 2(stereo)
    audio sample rate - 44kHz
i thought maybe something happened to all the songs around the same date but thats a no go. i have advanced mp3 catalog pro to organize my music and it has id3 editor v.2 but i use that for ALL my music not just these songs that now wont play. i tried removing the tag completely and recreating it and that also did not work. i have unintalled all itunes, apple, and quicktime applications and reinstalled ...still nothing. what now?

If you don't mind a little brute force, convert them to WAV and then back to MP3:
Use a 3rd party tool such as Switch to convert them to WAV. The conversion to WAV will wipe out every peculiarity of tags, etc (WAV is essentially just pure PCM-encoded music). Put the WAV into your iTunes library, make sure it plays, and then use iTunes to convert it to MP3.

  • New Shuffle wont play after downloading Songs from Rhapsody

I just bought the 2nd gen. shuffle and after loading songs from rhapsody, it show them on the IPOD list but the ipod wont play. It blinks green-orange-green- orange and then nothing. I tried reseting it. Any ideas?

    "Will Rhapsody work with iPod?
iPods are not compatible with the Rhapsody To Go subscription service. You may, however, use the iPod to play tracks purchased on Rhapsody. Or view the MP3 players compatible with Rhapsody To Go."
That is from their website, even though countless posts on these forums have said their files are not compatible. So who knows. If I couldn't get my music from rhapsody on my iPod, I personally woudn't be too surprised, it's protected music, and it's not meant for iTunes it's meant for Real player. It looks like it depends on if your music was subscription or not. You might also read this.

I hope you figure out how to get it on your iPod though.

  • Ipod wont play some tunes

I can't play some tunes on my ipod, any ideas?

I had this problem  too, through screwing around I learned this.  Sometimes, only AAC versions play on an Ipod.  What I did was, delete the songs that didn't play from my playlists.  Then I went into the songs portion of my Itunes library  and right clicked on the song that did not previously play.  After right clicking and getting a drop down menu,  I clicked on create AAC version.  A copy of that song then appeared below the original.  After the AAC version was created the copy changed from a light  black  title to a full black title and the Itunes library gave  me that "bling" sound effect.  I then played the AAC copy to see if it was a true copy, it was, so I put the AAC version back onto my playlist.  I then installed my Ipod shuffle, and also tried on my Nano and synced.  The songs that previously did  not play now did play.  I then deleted the original copy in the songs list and kept the AAC version.  (Don't know if deleting the original was a good  idea or not, but did not want two copies of the songs, and didn't notice a difference in quality.  Maybe Neil Young would notice but I couldn't . Good luck, and try out the Groovelectric podcast on Itunes.  Peace out.

  • Itunes wont play the entire song

I spent loads of money on songs from the itunes store today and the songs wont play the whole way through, any suggestions?

If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copies of the dodgy tracks and try redownloading fresh copies. For instructions, see the following document:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the items that are not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the items, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" links next to the items.

  • Itunes wont play the right song

When i select a song to play from my library i get a different song to the one selected. Usually the same 3 or 4 are played every time.
If i select a song from my purchased playlist  that plays the selected song!!

Try recreating the iTunes library (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451)

  • Wont play some tracks

My ipod touch will not play some of the tracks that I downloaded to it, what I have checked is that I can play them on itunes (so nothing wrong with the files, or privileges), I have checked the setting on the ipod for the restriction controls which are all off. I tried downloading the tracks again with no success, anyone got any ideas?
    Thanks

  • Problem playing some mp3 songs in itunes

It says that iTunes/ipod supports the mp3 format. But some of my songs will only play halfway through then itunes skips to the next song. Those songs affected plays just fine in Windows Media Player or MediaMonkey but not in iTunes. I did some googling on this and it seems that iTunes has problems with ID tags on some songs. I downloaded a tool that should fix the problem, and after using it the songs played in iTunes but some of the information about the songs were lost ( for instance part of album name). I want the information about the songs in my library to be complete so I reentered the missing information, and then the problem was back again. ITunes only played part of the song before skipping to the next.
So long a other players can play the mp3 files I consider this as a BUG in the iTunes code, and expect Apple to fix it.

    Hello-
Question: are you streaming audio via Apple TV or AirTunes? If so disable that configuration and set audio to COMPUTER (lower-right part of the iTunes window). Video and Airport Express do not get along with each other.

  • Unable to play some purchased songs on iphone4

Some of my music purchased either via itunes or iphone, will not play on iphone. also, when you select a song to play it will jump and play another song. i have tried synching, but still not working. can play all songs on computer via itunes. has anybody else had this issue? many thanks in advance for any assistance.

I have the same problem.  I upgraded to a 4S and did a restore from iCoud. Everything loaded but many songs will not play and others jump to another song.  I made sure my new phone was authorized (click on Store with the iPhone selected in the left column of iTunes and then click on Authorize this computer)  I also reset the iPhone by holding the Home and Power buttons simultaneously. No improvement.
This seems to be a problem relatd to the chip set in the specific phone.  My iPhone 4 had no problem with the same list of songs.
    Heading back to the store.

  • Can Playing a Shared Song Increase its Playcount?

I have two computers. One has all of my music, but the other is plugged into my stereo. So I often "share" playlists from the first computer and play them on the second.
The problem is: when I listen to a song in this manner, the playcount does not increase. (This is particularly frustrating for things like Podcasts or audiobooks.) Is there any way to have the playcount increase when someone plays it over iTunes sharing?

Is this an iTunes store purchase, and did you edit out (Special Edition) from the album title? Under Edit > Preferences > Store there is an option to "Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases". A drawback of this option is that the library can sometimes display the original store metadata instead of any changes you have made. Your changes come to light when tracks are played. Differences in the album title or album artist will break up an album. Try turning that feature off, closing iTunes and reopening. You may still need to correct any currently split albums but it might stop it from happening again.
See Grouping tracks into Albums for general advice.

  • New iPad wont upload some checked songs from itunes

New iPad will not upload all checked songs in iTunes from my PC and there is plenty of space.

Solved- Some music doesnt show up under Artist view but music is there under song view.

  • New computer, transfered music via external hard drive, library there but music wont play, message "The song "    " could not be used because the original file could not be found. Tech did everything, said call  Itunes support

    New Computer
transfered Itunes library via clickfree backup. New computer Tech support(Premier PC) did this, Now can not play library within Itunes. Message says "The song " song name " could not be found. Would you like to locate it? Same Tech tried different things via on line support could not fix and said call itunes support and say Itunes will not play on new computer.

I was given the option to locate the file where the song is held. If so select "locate" and direct it to the folder / file where the song is and open it. itunes then will give you the option to use this process to update all of your library. OK that as this will do it automatically instead of doing them one by one. I hope this helps.
