Wont print pdf

I have an old B210a that still works well, with one exception. Whenever I attempt to print a PDF, it attempts to print it as a photo an asks me to load photo paper. How can I switch that back to the conventional paper size and tray?

  • Canon printer wont print PDF and Word files... sometimes.

I face a very special problem with my iMac and my Canon printer (Pixma MG5350): Since a few weeks, the printer wont print most PDF files correctly, the same with existing Word files. A blank or blurred sheet is coming out of the machine. But: When I create a brand new Word file and fill it with text, the printer prints it clean and neat. The same with the official Canon test prints – no troubles at all. I have also tried to sort out the problem with the help from Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3147?viewlocale=de_DE, without success. Glad about every help!

My next suggestion would be to try an alternate driver to the Canon.
There is the Gutenprint v5.2.9 suite which is free and lists the MG5300 series as a supported model. You could download and install this driver suite and add the Gutenprint MG5300 driver and see if this gives you the same problem.

  • Printer wont print pdf file

My deskjet 2050 j510 series printer will not print a pdf file. The printer cord is connected to the printer and my computer properly, the printer has ink and paper, and it will print other things that are not pdf files. I have updated Adobe and I have tried going into the adanced settings an clicking the "print as image" box.

    Hello samrae10,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums! I understand you are not able to print and pdf files to your HP Deskjet 2050. You are able to print all other programs, this is just in Adobe, after some research I was able to find the following recommendation on the Adobe Support Website. Take a look below at installing the software patch:
    1. Log in to your computer as an Administrator.
    2. Click the link to download the AdobeReaderPatch10.1.2_cpsid_92870.zip  file.
    3.  Unzip the file to extract the executable AdobeReaderPatch10.1.2_cpsid_92870.exe.
    4.  Do one of the following to run the AdobeReaderPatch10.1.2_cpsid_92870.exe file:
    a.  Double-click the AdobeReaderPatch10.1.2_cpsid_92870.exe file.
    b.  Run the AdobeReaderPatch10.1.2_cpsid_92870.exe file in silent mode by specifying the -silent flag on the command line. Open the command prompt ‘As Administrator’ to avoid UAC prompt dialog.
                Example: <path to AdobeReaderPatch10.1.2_cpsid_92870.exe> -silent
    5. Once the process is completed, you receive a prompt stating the result of the operation.
NOTE: When run in silent mode, all dialog boxes are suppressed. No success message or error message appear.
    6.  A log is created in the temp directory (%temp%) with the name AcroPatchApplication1012.log. (The changes sometimes only takes effect only after you restart your computer.)
Let me know if this helps!

  • Why wont my PDF's print

Should have registered under the name Frustration! I am using Windows 7, Adobe Reader X and am on a wireless network.  Every other program prints (Office 2010) but the PDF's won't.  There is no error message and the print window has nothing queued.  The printer is cabled to a Mac Pro.
I have tried all the Adobe recommendations, updated drivers etc and still no results.  Any advice appreciated

It says "the document has features not supported in this reader" and I haven't been able to open it in literally anything except for on my friend's laptop, nothing on my tablet will open it and there isn't many things I can download on the tablet instead

Have you been able to open that PDF file with other PDF software, e.g. Adobe Reader XI?

i keep trying to print an adobe pdf-and today all of a sudden they wont print and instead opens a "save-as" MS word window prompting me to do that instead of simply printing

Look in the print menu (more than likely under "Advanced") and deselect the box that says "Print to file".

  • PDF FILES WONT PRINT

Ever since Ive used my Macbook Pro with Safari, I have been unable to print PDF files.  I can view the files but as soon as I go to print, the documents are blank in the print screen (and if printed).  I am able to view and print these files if I use another browser such as Chrome or Firefox.
Just wondering if Im doing something wrong or if anybody else has these issues.  I cant imagine Apple would block the printing of PDF files as I dont imagine thats uncommon.
I am using LION OS, and have always had this problem since day 1.

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

  • Adobe wont print after update 9

Can't print after updating to Adobe reader 9. Using a B&W multi "old girl" Lanier 5235 and I tried uninstalling Adobe and reinstalling without help. I can print a PDF file via Preview and I csan print word files via word etc. etc using the diff. cases in the printer, but Adobe just wont print after update. Any good ideas from you guys?

Quite sure its Snow Leopard that made it impossible for me to get to the diff. trays. And this link (http://support.apple.com/downloads/LanierPrinter_Drivers_for_Mac_OS_X_v106) is the only one that doesnt work . Furthermore I asked Lanier if they knew about it, but they didnt seem to have a clue... a bit funny I think... also frustrating though

  • Print .pdf always, .ps conditionally

    Hi All,
I have a requirement of printing .pdf for all transactions always, but .ps for only few of those transactions which has <printpst> tag as 'Y'. How to configure. I created two different batches one for pdf and one for ps, but how to exclude ps batch at runtime based on an xml tag? I tried cloning the the pdf forms and assign different recipient for ps, it works partially that subforms wont print in ps (it occupies space but no data is printed for subforms).
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks

The answer will vary (at least slightly) depending upon exactly how you are calling for print. Are you talking about EE DocFactory printing? Or are you talking about GenData with or without using the PrintFormset rule?
For standard edition Gendata you may be able to accomplish what you want using the "BatchingByRecipINI" rule.
I don't know what batching rule you are currently using, but in this case you would replace whatever you currently have with this one rule.
    <Base Form Set Rules>
    ;BatchingByRecipINI;2;;
Note, I'm not trying to show you all your rules. I'm only showing that you add this rule to the Base Form Set Rules section of the Afgjob.jdt file.
This rule utilizes INI options where you can specify a search mask or other criteria that can be queried to determine your batching. In your case, if you only have two batches and the situation is as simple as you describe, it might only require this.
    < BatchingByRecip >
    Batch_Recip_Def = !//printpst=Y;"Batch1";ALL
    Batch_Recip_Def = TRUE;"Batch2";ALL
The way I understand this, it begins at the top and considers each Batch_Recip_Def in sequence until it finds one that is true. In this case, set the first one to test your node for the right value. The second semicolon names the batch name associated with your ps print (in this case). The final value identifies recipients. ALL is a special case that says to match all recipients.  Assuming your transaction does not have the necessary tag, then the second Batch_Recip_Def will be queried. In this case it is hard-coded to assume TRUE and ALL recipients again, so every transaction that doesn't meet the first condition should fall into this one.
Substitute your own batch names that point to the necessary print type and that's about it.

  • How can I save to the same map every time when printing pdfs?

How can I save to the same map every time when printing pdfs?
Finder points to the document map even when I chose a different map recently.
I often print series of pdfs from the print dialog box, I'd like to choose the map to save to and then have all subsequent pdf prints automatically directed to the same map until I decide otherwise.

that link seems to be broken right now:

  • Printing PDF forms to an impact printer

    Greetings,
I hope I've found the correct forum for this question.
We are having difficulty printing PDF forms to an impact printer.  We are required by regulations to print to multi-part forms from our GTS landscape, which is going live soon.  Since Adobe is the direction SAP is headed with forms, we have been utilizing ADS.  However, the need for impact printing has presented a problem.  Has anyone utilized PDF printing to an impact printer?  I'll list some details in case it will help.
    Printer: Lexmark Forms Printer 2590
Backend Print Solution: HP Output Server on AIX
    SAP GTS: NetWeaver 7.0 SP17 w/ SLL-LEG 720 SP7
Our printer has printer languages of Epson Emulation and Personal Printer Data Stream (PPDS).  Neither of these are included in the standard device types for PDF as specified in OSS Note 685571.  I do not see an appropriate XDC file to copy and modify.
Has anyone else run into this issue and found a resolution?
    Many thanks for your assistance.
    Wesley Tollett

the PortName should be changed accordingly.
if you are using printer port , commonly lpt1, you should change it to lpt1
ur command line could work , i think
i've tried it locally in my machine, it works fine.

  • Issue printing PDF Packages

I'm having issues printing PDF Packages.Clients have contacted us stating that our PDF Packages don't print properly. Essentially they were only able to print the "coversheet" and nothing else. I ran some test scenarios and noted that PDF Packages print feature behaved differently depending on several criterias:
how it was viewed (ie: desktop, Firefox browser, IE browser)
    what Adobe Reader Plugin
what command was used to access print feature (ie: file>print, ctrl + P, print icon)
So far I've noticed that Adobe Reader utilizes two versions of the Print Dialog Box. The first one shows four choices for "Print Range" (All, Current View, Current Page, Pages...) seems to always be misconfigured and does not print as intended. The second one I've noticed seems to limit your Print Range choices (All, Current View) which usually works.
This seems to be an Adobe bug. This Print Bug exists on both Acrobat 8 and 9, and the bug may or may not exist depending on how you view the "PDF Package" (ie: Desktop, Firefox, IE).
If you open the PDF Package on your desktop and view via Adobe Reader for the most part it prints as expected for "Print Current Documents" or "Print All Documents". Although the "Print Range" is misaligned (ie: "Print All" behaves as "Current View", "Current View" behaves as "Current Page".
If you open the PDF Package on a browser with an Adobe Reader plugin, a different scenario occurs.
You might experience that you're locked into printing only the "coversheet" of the PDF Package.
And again your "Print Range" might be misaligned.
In Adobe Reader 8, a dropdown appeared when you selected "File>Print" or the "Print Icon". The dropdown then gave you an option to "Print Current Documents" or "Print All Documents". Which basically provided you an option to print the entire "PDF Package" or choose to print only a section of the "PDF Package".
In Adobe Reader 9, the option to choose between "Print Current Documents" or "Print All Documents" was removed.
In fact I started to document the instances to see if its an isolated issue and it looks like it fails to print (as intended) 60% of the time. Of the 40% that does print as intended... it looks like half the time the "Print Range" is misconfigured.
Also, I've noticed that Reader utilizes two different "Print Dialog" boxes.
The testing scenario I set up was that you can print in three different ways:
        1. File>Print
        2. <ctrl + P>
        3. <print icon>
Three ways to view the PDF package:
        1. Download PDF Package & view on your desktop via Adobe Reader
        2. View PDF Package on Firefox w/ Adobe Reader plugin
        3. View PDF Package on Internet Explored  w/ Adobe Reader plugin
    My computer is using:
XP Pro SP3,  Acrobat Reader 9
    I've also spot tested on:
XP Pro SP3, Acrobat Reader 8
    Vista, Acrobat Reader 8
    Any Ideas?

    Hi Greg,
Since this is sytem defined settings that you are trying to implement, I presume that the INI changes ought to be done in FSISYS.INI rather than the FSIUSER.INI.
Apart from that most of your INI changes look fine as we are also using pdf as our Output type. Please find the INI change swe have implemented in our system for printing pdf.

  • Black Ink wont print on HP Photosmart Plus B210a Product CN216A

My black ink wont print on the printer stated above. I have changed it twice in the past 3 days, still wont work. I then ran a print quality report, cleaned printheads, aligned cartridges, ran all the tests. Nothing will work. The color ink will print, but nothing black will. On the print quality report, the black ink wont show. The printer displays the black ink, so installation of the cartridge must have been correct. Is the black ink cartridge or slot broken. I'm not a tech savvy person so I dont know the term for that thing. Please help, and let me know if I should just get a new printer. Thanks

Since you have automatically cleaned the printhead, and aligned the cartridges I would try a manual cleaning of the printhead to make sure that ink buildup is not the issue.  Solution three on this document shows how to remove and clean the printhead manually. I know that this document is not titled with your ink issue, but it is the best at outlining the steps needed to do that cleaning on the printhead.  Open that first drop down menu option titled “0xc1900013 or no code displays with the Ink System Failure error message” and follow those steps listed under solution three.  While you have that printhead out and are cleaning the contacts, take note of the warranty ends date listed there. If there is still an issue, write back and let me and provide that date off the printhead too.
